Episode 4 - His Majesty, The King
(See the notes for the rest!)
Okay so after a break for dinner and a little hiccup with my Internet, I am ready to resume!
I love this one. My favorite Charles Brandon gifs come from this episode.
Y’all know the ones😉😏

Episode 9 - Look to God First
(See notes for the rest!)
Well, we’re nearly there. Just this one and the finale left. And then I have to go to sleep because I have to get up early for work😫
But this has been a (mostly) enjoyable three day break. People irritate me and it’s so nice to be away from people’s stupidity for a bit.
Let’s crack on!

Episode 6 - True Love
(See the notes for the rest!)
Well, had to switch over to Hulu to watch with a seven day free trial of Showtime😂
Why Netflix would take this off streaming is beyond me. Henry Cavill was literally the star of their service last year. The Witcher was their highest streamed program by a significant margin. Why get rid of the show that made him a household name in the first place🤷🏼♀️
Whatever, here we go!

Episode 7 - Message to the Emperor
(See the notes for the rest!)
I gotta say. I watched this when I had COVID in November and the way they handled a plague during this time is astonishing to me. They still don’t know for sure what caused the Sweating Sickness to ravage England so, but they knew well enough back then then to isolate those that had been exposed, to stay away from each other and to wear masks if they couldn’t. They used heat/smoke to disinfect things, which does tend to work to destroy bacteria and viruses living on surfaces. They kept the corpses together in plague pits rather than letting the infected corpses be given individual funerals to limit the spread that could be caused by a large gathering of mourners.
At a time when they thought bleeding people would make them feel better, when they thought plagues were punishments from God for bad behavior, they had the presence of mind to treat their plague better than we’re treating the one we have now. We have modern medical science on our side and we still don’t have control over COVID almost a year in. They had five seprate outbreaks of sweating sickness in England over the course of 66 years, each outbreak being controlled/ending fairly quickly it seems, from what I could find. It quite literally burned its way through the population and 30-50% of cases were fatal, with people dying in a matter of hours from contracting it.
How is it possible that, in this day and age, we cannot get a handle on a disease that spreads just as easily, but is considerably less fatal? How, nearly a year into this, have we, as a global population, with all our knowledge and technology, not been able to get COVID under control?
It was super frustrating to watch this episode while I, myself, was sick with our modern day plague because of how much care was taken in that time to stop it. People cared. They didn’t want to die and they didn’t want their loved ones to die, their friends and neighbors. They were scared, but they allowed their fear to act as a shield. Maybe that’s what we need, to be more afraid. Maybe if more people felt genuine fear over their mortality and the mortality of others, we’d have COVID under control by now.
Humanity has grown too proud, too arrogant in the 500 or so years since the English were plagued by their sweating sickness. To think that we are invincible, that we can’t be brought to our knees by some microscopic entity. To be so idiotic as to believe the lies of the uneducated over the truths of science.
It’s astounding.
Wear your damn masks people, properly, covering your mouth and nose. Stop going on vacations and having parties just because you’re bored. We’re all sick of living in a major historical event, but we’re gonna have a much harder time getting out of it if people don’t stop being reckless with their own lives and the lives of others.
(Sorry for the rant, on with the episode!)

Episode 12 - Tears of Blood
Let’s see how many episodes I can get through today!
(Tbh it wouldn’t take so damn long if Tumblr’s gif search thing was better organized. I swear I spend half my time looking for Charles gifs that I know exist on here somewhere because I’ve seen them before, but the search feature never seems to show them and I’ll spend like twenty minutes scrolling and looking and not finding the gifs I need. And Google isn’t much better for results either.)

Episode 2 - Simply Henry
(See the notes for the rest!)
Yeah alright! Like two hours later and we’re finally to episode 2! Live blogging is hard. There’s a lot of pausing. I probably won’t get as far as I’d like today, but I’m off until Saturday so we’ve got lots of time!

Thoughts after watching Mission Impossible: Fallout:
- I now have a complete understanding of the thirst over August Walker because HOLY SHIT🥵🥵🥵
- Simon Pegg is an international treasure
- Henry’s goddamn moustache. I hated it when I first saw it but it’s really grown on me
- I genuinely didn’t care that August was a whole terrorist because I love Henry that much. That’s so problematic but I don’t even care. I mean, he literally murdered entire villages of people with fucking Smallpox and I’m over here like🥺🥺🥺
- Also, I wanted him to kill Tom Cruise because I really hate Tom Cruise.
- I loved how well Henry played them all. Like he was such a Himbo in the beginning like, hurdur how does the oxygen work and hurdur I’m gonna jump out of a plane into a storm and hurdur I’m gonna hit this guy in the face with a fancy laptop it probably won’t break, but really it was all an ACT. And I love it. Everything he did was totally on purpose to try and get Hunt killed/out of the way, but he did it in such a way that just made him seem like a dipshit and I loved it.
- The bathroom fight scene🥵🥵
- I understand how they’ve managed to make so many of these though because the back and forth between Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames is fantastic.
Apologies for the lateness of the final analysis for those of you who have actually been on this ride with me. I meant to do it yesterday, but I worked and then when I came home it was time for the final presidential debate and I got drunk watching Biden hand Tr*mp his ass, so I kind of forgot😅😅
So, I will never watch another Mission Impossible ever again, mainly because they straight up nerfed my sweet crazy man and now I have no reason to. I hate Tom Cruise. I get that Henry really likes and respects him, but I cannot stand him. I’m from the same city as Katie Holmes and I graduated from the same high school as her. Not at the same time but. People talk. I’ve heard things about how he treated her and why she finally left him. I don’t know how much of it is true, but it’s believable from him. The whole Scientology shit is insane. He’s just nuts.
But I’m officially a slut for August Walker so🤷🏼♀️
I’m gonna watch Hellraiser: Hellworld next, but probably not until tomorrow. I’ve got some shows to catch up on, mainly Bake-Off and Supernatural.

My thoughts after watching Sand Castle:
- Ocre is a sweet boy and should have been protected at all costs
- the Iraq War was bullshit
- Henry Cavill with a Texas accent can fuck me right up. I want to hear him call me darlin’ in that accent, Jesus Christ.
- That ass in those cargo shorts🥵🥵🥵🥵
- Honestly wasn’t a huge fan of Henry’s look in this, but I just really, really adore his curls so the fact that he buzzed them off just made me sad. I mean I know it’s the proper military look, but I was still sad about it. Also the beard wasn’t great, but again, it’s not like he would be getting it professionally groomed if he was really at war. Aesthetically for the film it works, but I feel like it didn’t do him any favors.
- I love that he not only kept that red t-shirt, but got it in other colors as well. He’s such a goober.
- The dog was so random but I kinda loved it, it definitely humanised Syverson a bit, but I was super worried it was gonna die so I’m really glad it was only in that one random scene and then never again
- Move Bitch is still a fucking banger 17 years later
I think I’m gonna watch Stardust next, since that’s the only other film that Henry’s in that Netflix has that I haven’t seen.

Alright, so I could watch MI: Fallout and suffer through 2 and a half hours of Tom Cruise just for the absolute masterpiece that is August Walker OR I could sign up for the AMC+ seven day free trial on Amazon Prime Video and watch Hellraiser: Hellworld for free and experience the glory that is baby!Henry being a complete shithead teenager AND getting a blowjob.
Decisions, decisions.
