I must ask.. is it your background giving the art a “vintage” filter, or is it your rendering?

Heya there, thanks for your question!

I have a bunch of textures and brushes from True Grit Texture Supply that help me get that vintage look :> (plus a looot of irl references that can guide me).

A free alternative is to look for paper textures yourself! There are a lot of scanned, high-quality textures that are free to use (you can look for kraft paper txts, they're great for this).

After choosing a texture, or more, I usually set the layer(s) to "Multiply", adjust the opacity, and place 'em over my flat colors and lineart (the folder below). Oftentimes I also choose a noise texture and set it as "Overlay" on top of everything.
