I want to say the show has to include the scene where Tatta cheers everyone up and is the light in everyone's life because it's what leads to certain events in the King of Clubs but this show also said fuck it, and made Chishiya and Arisu besties via the power of friendship despite Chishiya nearly getting Arisu and Usagi killed and assaulted.
So who knows maybe the show will have Tatta want to kill himself because he liked the weather that day.

"Come! Come! Sit!" Hatter say's with a wide grin on his face, sitting on his sofa while sipping wine.
He had call Aguni, Tatta, And Arisu to have a good small chat about something that might interest the three of them..or maybe just the two of them. The two boys and one man sits right across Hatter on the other sofa as Hatter continues to smile and drink his Wine "What is it now?" Aguni grumbles lowly "Oh nothing, I just called the three of you for a small chat cause I'm bored" He says filling three other thin glasses with the purple-ish red liquid, handing each of them the glass "Oh sorry Hatter Sir, but I don't drink wine.." Tatta says with an awkward smile while putting down the glass of wine "I do drink wine, but I'm not in it right now so same here" Arisu does the same, putting the glass on the wooden table.
It went silent for a bit till' Aguni broke it "Just get to the point on what you want to talk about" Aguni says looking at the man sitting right in front of him, taking something from underneath the table, Hatter placed a plate full of cheese on the table "Cheese" He smiles at Aguni "Cheese?" Tatta questions "Yes! Cheese, I wanted to talk about cheese, and how CHEESY they are" Hatter say's while laughing at his joke about the cheese "That's it? That's what you wanted to tell us about? Just cheese?" Arisu ask while picking up one of the cheese itself from the plate "Yes!, you see lately I've been obsessed with them..Strawberries and cheese..a really good combination to eat, even if it's with wine" Hatter takes a sip of his wine and put some cheese in his mouth, chewing on it "So you wasted my time on cheese?" Aguni say while groaning a bit, at how tired he was from dealing with Hatter's unnecessary activities and conversations he would let out, but then again Takeru/Hatter is his best friend and leader of the beach executive's and he was apart of them, so he must listen to anything his boss has to say, even if it's about cheese.
"I mean not gonna lie, but cheese is great, it's like sweet and salty at the same time" Tatta say's grinning wide "See! Even Tatta agrees on cheese!" Hatters grins "Ugh...you know what? Can I leave this conversation for a bit, Niragi is probably whining about things that I need to take care of-" "Nonsense Mori Chan, I already deal with that" "And how did you do it?" "By saying to them they could have a day off today!" Aguni slaps his forehead with his hand, already feeling the headache that he's about to feel "Don't worry Mori, it wouldn't be that bad! Besides, we need a break from chaos in the beach anyways. Aren't you tired on killing and finding traitors all day long?" Hatter says to him "Uh Hatter..is there any other drink besides wine here? Sorry to say but I'm quite thirsty" Arisu says smiling awkwardly while picking up a piece cheese from the plate, eating it "Why of course Arisu!, and no need to be formal, I'll go get both of you some iced tea eh?" Hatter says getting up from his sofa to the mini fridge at the corner of the room.
The three of them waiting for hotter to come back with the iced tea that he had told Arisu. Hatter came back with a wide grin and a bottle filled with the do called iced tea that he mentioned, of course with two cup in his other hand. Sitting dow to put the bottle and cup's on the table "Her you Arisu,Tatta have as much as you like" Arisu and Tatta thanked him as they begin pour the cold liquid into their cups "Now where was I?.... Ah yes! Strawberries and Cheese are a good combination if you eat both of them at the same time, if with wine" Hatter takes a piece of cheese, puts it inside his mouth and grabs his glass of wine and drank it down with the cheese "Don't think I could agree with you." Aguni grumbles,he didn't took a single sip of his wine that Hatter has poured into his glass. infact, his throat stayed dry like a desert just to hear his best friend talk and talk more about nonsense, and this time this nonsense is about Cheese and Wine..and strawberries. "Mori, why aren't you drinking your wine?, your throat must be dry by now am I right?" hatter says with a calming face, putting his sunglasses away from his face, putting them down on the wooden table right in front of them. Tatta and Arisu were in their own conversation, ignoring the other two men while drinking their iced tea "It's because of you talking about Cheese that I'm not drinking it, I actually don't want to drink right now." "Oh come on! You just have to take your mind off of things happening here you know?" Hatter say's again with a smile.
How many minutes later Tatta and Arisu were dismissed by Hatter, it was already night, meaning they have been talking for hours lately "You should get going yourself Mori, if you're tired of course. I'll be fine here with my cheese-" "Thank you.." Aguni says saying a goodbye to Hatter before walking out of his room.
[THE NEXT DAY]
'KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK'. It's already the next day, Aguni woke up by someone knocking aggressively on his door. He sat up from his bed, rubbing his eyes with two fingers and got up to open the door "Niragi...what" "THE F####NG KITCHEN STOCK IS FULL CHEESECAKE'S AND CHEESE AND-" He can't believe it, he is listening to Niragi complain about the cheese that Hatter mentioned yesterday..that is now in the kitchen.
What is he going to do? He is going to do nothing! As he shuts the door goes back to lay down on his bed and closed his eyes while grumbling "Why cheese??...why???"
[The end~]
Note: HAHAHAHA IDK IF THIS IS CRACK OR JUST A RANDOM STORY ON WHERE THEY JUST TALK ABOUT CHEESE- welp, the beach will now be invaded by Mouse's-

Our favorite aib characters and y/n splitting into teams and playing competitive hide and seek
Hide And Seek: Beach Edition
Characters: Aguni Morizono, Hatter, Tatta Koudai, Arisu Ryohei, Usagi Yuzuha, Kuina Hikari, Chishiya Shuntaro, Niragi Suguru, Last Boss, Ann Rizuna
Genre: Crack. It's Hide And Seek time!
2.7k words
Quick mention, Y/N is written as Yin the entire time, please insert any name in as if it says Y/N. I only did it because that’s how I always read it as because I’m weird like that.
Also Y/N is written as gender neutral, but please if you want put any pronouns in place of it.
Anyways, here it is!
Tumblr media
It was rather quiet at the Beach today. Well, mostly because everyone unimportant was out doing games. It was amazing, really, how quickly and empty the Beach ended up. The only people left were a small handful, that being the executives, militants, and a few extras.
Of course, Hatter wasn’t going to let everyone left to just sit around by themselves, despite the fact that a decent chunk were perfectly fine with being alone in a completely quiet Beach for once.
“ So, what the fuck are we all doing here?” Niragi was the first to speak up within the meeting room, one hand holding his head up as his elbow rested on the table, the other hand busy with combing through Yin’s hair, who was comfortably laying across three people’s laps, with Chishiya the unfortunate chair for their feet. Arisu was nestled in the seat between the two, staring purely at Hatter as the robed man stood at the end of the table with a grin, arms out to the side.
“ Well, that’s easy! Since right now, the entire Beach is ripe for the taking for the…..” He pauses, head counting everyone in the room. “ Eleven of us, including me, I thought of something to pass the time!” “ What is it?” Arisu asks, tilting his head. Hatter grins, and he raises his arms even higher, his grin spreading even further across his face.
“ Hide and Seek: Beach Style!” Hatter announces. In return, he gets a few eyebrow raises, a few blank faces, and Tatta vibrating in excitement.
“ Across the entire Beach?” Chishiya intones, “ For ten people?” He leans back on his chair, arms resting comfortably folded on his chest. “ Sounds interesting.”
“ Wouldn’t that take forever though?” Tatta raises his hand, Hatter smiling.
“ We have all the time in the world right now!”
“ Yes, but even so, it might take far too long to search everything, especially so little people with so much time.” Aguni glances at the others within the room. “ We should have rules in place so that there is a plausible chance to find everyone.”
“ Ah, alright. Okay, listen up! We’re going to play hide and seek, where the only rules are that you can’t hide in any normal room, but the executive rooms are up for grabs, and any place within the Beach! To be fair, once you find a hiding spot, you can’t suddenly move from that spot. And once you’re found, you’re obligated to help find everyone else! Fair enough?” The others all nod and give noises of agreement, Hatter smiling. “ Good, good! Now, who wants to be it?” He looks among them, the others doing the same.
“ I suppose I can.” Ann was the first to offer herself, raising a hand. Hatter nods, and she turns around and starts counting. The moment the first number was uttered from her lips, everyone ran out, ready to hide away as well as they could. Yin was dragged along by Niragi, for reasons they weren’t too sure of, but Niragi seems rather eager to drag them away.
“ Where are we going?” They ask, Niragi saying nothing and continuing to drag them along. They reach a room, which appeared to be a storage room, Niragi pulling them inside and shutting the door. He turns to them and smiles, before gesturing to the pile of boxes in the corner. They nod, and quickly duck behind them, Niragi taking a spot by a separate pile of boxes.
“ This should be good enough. It’s a decent ways away from where the dissection bitch is, and out of the way.” Niragi explains, Yin nodding. It seemed fair enough.
“ Where do you think the rest of them would be?” They ask, curious. Niragi shrugs, sitting back and brushing a few stray hairs from his face.
“ Hell if I know. Hey, how fast do you think Ann would find everyone? I would say at least two hours. The Beach is big as shit, and there’s only ten people in the entire building. Bets that Ann doesn’t find us for at least half of that.”
“ Oh, you’re on! I say she’ll never find us-“ Yin chirps eagerly, leaning against the boxes. Niragi nods, smirking. They sit there in silence for a while, Yin carefully listening for any signs of movement outside.
There was nothing for a while. The both of them were prepared to be waiting for a while, since it was theoretically one against ten in a massive building. Yin’s breath hitches as they hear footsteps outside, and the door opening, letting in light from the outside. There was the soft tapping of footsteps, Yin and Niragi making eye contact with each other, Niragi placing a finger to his lips.
The footsteps stop for a few seconds, Yin and Niragi staying still, but Ann’s head pokes into their sights, Yin yelping and bursting into laughter as Ann lightly waves to them.
“ Found the both of you.” Ann looks to Niragi, Niragi pouting slightly and getting up. He comes over to Yin and helps them up, and the trio exit the room. Outside was Aguni, who looks at them and lightly tilts his head up in greeting of them, Niragi rolling his eyes.
“ Aww, are we the first few? Lame.” Niragi grumbles, Yin patting his back in comfort. Ann ignores the comment and walks down the hall more. Aguni, Niragi, and Yin follow after her, the four occasionally stopping to check the other rooms they pass by with zero luck. They get that hall cleared out rather quickly, with four people searching at the same time. Ann leads the little crew out to the pool area, looking around for a second.
“ There is no way someone is hiding out here at the pool. It’s too open!” Niragi waves a hand as he gestures to the pool.
Yin shrugs, walking closer to it with [E/C] eyes scanning the area briefly. “ I dunno, there may be a chance. Look!” They point to a stack of opaque colourful pool floats stacked atop each other right by the pool. Aguni and Niragi look at each other, sharing a brief nod, before approaching the pool floats, Ann following after them. Yin giggles a little and trails along behind them as Aguni and Niragi settle a hand behind the floats, Ann quirking up a lip as the floats shift just a little.
“ Found you.” She announces with a cool demeanour as Niragi and Aguni push the tower into the water, a yelp emitting from the stack as Arisu tumbles into the water. With a bit of struggling, Arisu frees himself from the floats and resurfaces, sputtering and spitting out water. Niragi cackles and points at Arisu, Arisu swimming closer to the edge. Aguni helps him get out of the water, Arisu shaking his head and getting water droplets all over the volcano man.
“ Serves you right.” Yin grins, Niragi glaring at them, Yin patting his face with a smile, making him sputter and back away. Arisu smiles, wringing out his poor shirt in the meantime.
“ How did you even get in there?” Yin asks. Arisu opens his mouth, but then quickly shakes it.
“ Can’t say.”
“ You must have had help. And considering that I don’t think they would have left you unsupervised with how close you were to falling in the pool…..” She looks around. “ They might be in the area. Come on, let’s look around.” She walks away, everyone splitting up and looking around.
It wasn’t that hard, Aguni pulling out Usagi from underneath a chair that was a bit out of the way. Arisu excitedly waves at Usagi, Usagi smiling and waving back at him. They regroup, and after yet another sweep, they head onwards.
“ So, we need to find Chishiya, Kuina, Tatta, and uhhh… Hatter. Right?” Arisu counts each person on his fingers, looking at Ann. Niragi and Aguni glance at each other, but before either of them could correct Arisu, there was a rather loud noise above, Ann looking up and pulling her sunglasses up.
“ Found Hatter.” “ Wait really?” Arisu looks around in confusion, then at Ann with a mildly worried face. “ I don’t see him? Did you mean that noise?”
Ann nods, and she ducks into a room, looking at a vent cover. Everyone around her look at the same vent, Arisu very much confused. So was Niragi, but he wasn’t keeping very quiet about it. “ I don’t fucking get it.”
“ I think he climbed into the vents. Are any of you willing to climb in?” Ann looks at the squad, Usagi nodding and approaching the vent. With the help of Aguni hoisting her up, Usagi managed to get the oddly loose cover off, and she squeezes herself inside, Yin and Arisu cheering her on as she disappears into the vent. The group follow the sounds of her moving around as best ad they could, until there was a rather sizable loud screech, followed by something falling. Aguni was the first to head towards the noise, Niragi and Yin not far behind with Ann and Arisu at the back.
The sight was something else, Hatter face planted on the ground with Usagi coming out of the ceiling a little bit later in a much more dignified manner. Aguni sighs and kneels down besides Hatter, shaking his shoulder. Hatter pops up rather quickly, chuckling. “ I have been caught~ A shame.” Hatter looks around at the group, smiling. “ But I wasn’t the one that sucked at hiding either!”
“ Congrats.” Ann monotonously praises him, Hatter getting up and wiping his kimono down.
“ Thanks! Now onwards, I think I know where the small one is!” He runs off, Aguni immediately following after. Niragi grins excitedly and grabs Yin’s hand and drags them away, yelling something about ‘being the one to find the watery pancake batter’.
By the time Hatter had even the semblance of stopping, they were upstairs where the executive rooms were, Yin tilting their head.
“ How do you know he’s up here?” They inquire, Hatter smiling and slapping their back.
“ I just know! Trust me!” Hatter chirps, and he starts throwing open doors, Niragi doing the same with a little more ferocity, adamant on finding Chishiya. Yin chuckles, and the rest begin to search.
It takes a good ten minutes before any of them even found a trace. Well, a trace being finding Kuina hiding in the closet and coming out wearing a fucking rainbow bikini.
“ Seems like you had fun.” Yin comments, Kuina nodding and smoothing down the ruffled top. “ I did!”
“ ….. Weren’t you wearing a different bikini earlier?” Arisu asks, Kuina nodding and smiling happily.
“ I was. Now anyways, Chishiya’s around here somewhere. Buuuuut I’m not telling you where. Sorry not sorry!” Kuina shrugs, and Niragi rolls his eyes, leaving the room and calling random words that the rest can only assume meant he was attempting to call for Chishiya. They had no choice but to follow him, looking through the rest of the rooms. Hell, they looked through the rooms twice, as Chishiya was a little shit who was clever enough to hide literally anywhere to avoid being found. Kuina was intentionally being a little unhelpful as well, as she apparently knew where Chishiya was but loyal enough to not be a snitch.
Yin splits from them to search Hatter’s room, looking through every crevice and humming. It was a bit of a controlled chaos mess in there, and they find a few stray cookie packages, both empty and near empty before they spot a small box in the corner, inconspicuous and hidden unless someone was looking directly for them, yet big enough to possibly fit a human cat inside. Grinning, they quickly approach the box, and throw upon the lid, only to be greeted with something even better.
“ Hi Tatta!” They greet, Tatta looking up at them from the cramped space. It was actually impressive how Tatta crammed himself in there, actually.
“ Hi Yin!” Tatta greets back, and shifts back and forth, smiling a little nervously. “ A little help? I’m stuck.” Yin nods, and they grab the edge of the box and tip it over, Tatta grunting as it lands with a thud. He wiggles within the confines, and extends his arms out as Yin helps him pop out of the box. Tatta stands up and thanks them, complete with a nice friendship hug, Yin hugging back. They grab his hand and drag him out of the room, meeting up with Kuina, Arisu, and Aguni, the former two waving at Tatta. Tatta waves back, smiling as Yin joins them. “ Found Tatta! That means we just need to find Chishiya, right?”
Kuina and Arisu nod, Aguni only grunting slightly in response and holding up a finger. The others look at the man in curiosity, Tatta and Arisu both tilting their heads in synchronization.
“ I fucking found you, you tiny rabies foaming ferret!” Niragi’s voice rings clear and true, followed by a yes of indignation as Chishiya suddenly emerges from Niragi’s room, wearing a fedora on his head. “ You fucking slut!” Niragi emerges not much longer, Chishiya planting himself right in the middle of the hallway gang, Niragi trying to get to him only for Aguni to stop him with a hand on his chest.
“ Not right now.” Aguni orders, Niragi grumbling angrily and thankfully backing away, Yin coming over and patting his shoulder. Niragi huffs, calming a little from Yin’s presence.
Ann and the others come around bit later, Hatter grinning and spreading his arms out. “ Well then! Wasn’t that fun! Looks like we’re all here!” “ Actually-“ Aguni butts in, but Hatter ignores him.
“ Congratulations, Chishiya, you were the last to be found! Aren’t you proud of yourself?” Hatter says, Chishiya tucking his hands in his pocket and saying nothing, eyebrow raised and lips curled into a slight smirk.
“ The last?”
“ Well, yeah! You are quite a hide and seek champion.”
“ He’s a bitch to find.” Niragi grumbles, leaning his weight on one leg. “ Fucking cat ghost.”
“ Thanks. Bet you were the third to be found.” Chishiya lightly retorts.
“ He was.”
“ Wh- Oi! Shut up, Ann!”
Ann just turns away, eyes scanning the group. Aguni was frowning a little, looking at Hatter. She quickly figures something wrong, counting everyone mentally. “ No, wait. Hatter, we’re missing one.” “ Oh? And whom may that be, Ann?”
The others all look around as well, some a bit confused. Only Aguni, Niragi and Chishiya seemed to know before the rest of the people that hid realized, Niragi scowling a little.
“ You fucking lobster, we haven’t found Last Boss.”
“…… Well…. does anybody have any idea where he might be?” Kuina asks.
They all look among each other, not a single hint of anybody knowing.
“…. Split up?”
Everyone nods, all dispersing within seconds.
As people started coming back from games, the ten remaining were now back at the meeting room, none of which accompanied by any hint of the tiger stick.
“ How the fuck can he not find him-“ Niragi blurts out, hands on the table and staring at everyone, “ Where the hell did he go.”
Everyone could only give off shrugs and ‘I don’t know’s, Aguni sighing.
“ Well, he wins.” Aguni sits down, crossing his arms over his chest. “ And nobody knows where he could possibly be.” “ He’s so good at disappearing, I’m amazed.” Tatta comments, Arisu and Usagi nodding.
“ So….. does that mean I have to call him?” Niragi pulls out a walkie talkie from his pocket. Aguni waves him to give the go ahead, Niragi clicking it on. “ Hey, egg noodle. You won. Get back here or else I’m filling your closet with rubber ducks.”
There was silence, then the slightest noise that may have been a hum, before…..
“ No. I’m comfy. Night.” The line immediately goes dead again.
Everyone is silent, Niragi taking one slow breath, shutting his eyes with murder in his smile. “…… Bitch.”

IN MEMORIAM
Kyuuma Ginji Tatta Koudai Arakida Ichika Samura Takatora Kujou Asahi Terumii Hibiki Kanou Mira Karube Daikichi Segawa Chouta …
“Exactly six months after the catastrophe, most of Japan and especially Tokyo still struggles with rebuilding both the city and economy. Not only have the suicide rates increased noticeably, but a majority of Tokyo’s population still feels helpless and aimless towards their future. With over 2000 confirmed casualties and hundreds still missing, hope is still few and far between. How long will it take to…”
The newsreader’s voice fades into the other sounds around you.  It’s the same message day after day. With each rising sun, more corpses are found under the majority of Tokyo’s buildings still in ruins. Half a year already, and it feels like reparations have not made any progress at all.
Half a year since your heart, like hundreds of others, has stopped beating for an entire minute while a huge comet was crashing down on Tokyo. You stare at your hands cupping the Latte in front of you. The scars around your wrists have fully healed and will vanish more with every year passing, and the same goes for the other scars you carry.
Although no doctor has been able to explain where exactly those wounds came from. Most of them assumed that you had been carrying metallic bracelets during the catastrophe, and the heat caused the material to burn into your skin…
While you don’t remember anything about the incident, you know for sure that you have never owned such bracelets. But what reason is there to argue, when the scars remain nonetheless?
“A penny for your thoughts?”
You look up and blink a few times until you’re able to focus on the person sitting opposite to you. Kuina is wearing a colorful shirt with some superhero printed on it, and her dreadlocks loosely fall over her back. She grins at you and stuffs another piece of chocolate cake into her mouth.
Within a few months, she has become your best friend, ever since that moment you first met her in a support group for survivors. And about four or five weeks ago, you both decided to quit that group and meet in your favorite café once a week instead.
“I… I was just wondering what exactly happened on that day… you know.”
“Oh, come on, honey.” With a half-heartedly annoyed grunt, she reaches for one of your hands and pins it down on the table. “How many times have we talked about that now? What is it – survivor’s guilt? Post-apocalyptic depression? Menopause?”
With your other hand, you reach into your pocket and pull out the tiny note. A nurse gave it to you after you woke up in the hospital, saying that it had been found with you. You have no idea why the name of an university is written on it, and you would have dumped it long ago if it hadn’t been your own handwriting.
The note has been taped multiple times already, and somehow it feels too important to let go. Something about it…
“Aaaaand you’re gone again.”
Kuina rips the note out of your hand and examines it with little interest. “You still keep that! Ugh. How many times have you been there already?”
“…two.”
You were surprised to find out it’s a medical university, and a few weeks apart, you have gone there to see if it’d lead you to anything. Both times, you’d spend almost an hour to stroll through the hallways of the university, sit down on the lawn and watch the students around you, but there has been nothing.
“Why do you still keep it?”
“Because…” you try to get back the note, but Kuina holds it up so high you won’t reach it, causing you to roll your eyes. “It feels as if something is missing. I know it is important and I should remember, but… it always slips from my grasp!”
“Forget this piece of nonsense here.” Kuina crinkles the note between her fingers and drops it into your Latte, watching with a grin while you pull it out and try to clean it up again. “What you really need is someone to hook up with! We need to get you someone you can date. What do you think?”
You continue to stare at the note. Thanks to the tape, the coffee didn’t ruin too much of it, although you know what is written on it without having to take a look. The symbols have long burnt themselves into your…
A déjà-vu? As your wrists start to tingle, you stuff the note back into your pocket and scratch the scarred skin. “All good things come by threes. I’ll go there, just one more time…”
Kuina huffs into her Frappe. “Fine. But promise me you’ll throw it away afterwards and go on a double-date with me.”
“A double-date? You have someone in mind already?”
“For me? You bet! For you? Not yet.” The grin on her face is catching, and you shake your head at her joy over this unintended rhyme.
“Who is it? Tell me about them!”
Kuina hums and pays a bit more attention to her cake before she answers. “Oh, you know… she works in forensics. Pretty tough stuff, dead bodies and all that. Crime victims mostly if I remember righ- hey! Are you trying to change the subject? Promise to me, now!”
“Sure, sure. I promise.” You raise your hands in defeat and listen to your friend’s victorious laughter. Maybe the time really has come to leave this note behind and start to live again.
Delicate white flakes cover the street as you step out of the underground station. It’s the first snow of the year, and it transforms the ruins and destroyed buildings into a mysterious snowy landscape. Clouds form themselves in front of your face whenever you breathe out, and you tuck your hands deep into the pockets of your mantle to keep them warm.
People barely recognize the traces left by the chaos anymore, and even you have become used to the sight of it. Almost everyone, including you, has lost at least one dear person to the catastrophe, if not more. And still life goes on somehow – people return to work, find new friends, new lovers, new families.
The university is not far from the station, although the lawn is mostly empty now. Your feet leave traces in the fresh snow, and while it feels wrong on one hand to interrupt the immaculate structure, you like to leave a trace. The next person taking this path will see them and will know that someone has been there. They will never know your name, never recognize your face, but in some way, those traces will still leave an impact. Maybe only a single thought that doesn’t last longer than a second, but an impact nonetheless.
Inside the building you’re greeted by warm air. Coming here the first time, you had thought that you’d stand out from all those smart medicine students, but it turned out most of them seem to be normal humans like everyone else. None of them stares at you like you don’t belong here; most of them simply mind their own business today as well.
And like the last times, you don’t know where to search. It’s hard when you don’t know what exactly you’re searching for, if it’s a place or a person or whatever. Within the next hour, you stroll around the most common sections – examine the books in the library, marvel at some pretty good anatomic drawings and watch the people entering and leaving the cafeteria, but there is no sign. No shining light or angel’s choir telling you you’ve finally found it, no forgotten friend showing up again.
But after that hour, you decide to give up. Whatever it is, it hasn’t been there the last two times and it won’t be there today. Giving up feels so wrong and it hurts, but what are you supposed to do?
At least you could grab a coffee for the way back to the station, so you sigh and return to the entrance hall where you have seen a coffee vending machine. You rummage through your pocket and search for some coins and already lift your hand to insert them when you catch sight of the huge yellow sign claiming that the machine is “out of order”.
“So much for the coffee.”
Uttering a curse under your breath, you stuff the coins back to the note inside your pocket. Maybe you can grab something to drink at the station…
“Oh, you don’t know it yet?” an unfamiliar voice speaks up right behind you, and you turn around to face a guy in his mid-twenties, with messy hair, huge glasses and a joke on his sweater that can only be understood by med students. “This machine has been broken for over two weeks now… can’t believe they still didn’t manage to fix it!”
This one definitely is no one of the “normal-looking” students in the university, but he seems to be nice. “You can go to the hospital, if you still want one. Don’t even have to leave the building – just down the hallway, see? Through the sliding door and then left, no way you’d miss it.”
He points you towards the right direction, and as you follow his finger, you can also see a sign hanging from the ceiling that confirms his hint. How practical to connect university and workplace like this.
“Thank you.” You manage to smile at him and turn towards the hallway. Hospitals don’t really count as your favorite place, but if it’s just to grab a coffee, it will be fine. The door opens with a feint hiss and you step through, immediately covered in the smell of disinfectant and… well, doctors.
The guy was right after all, since you spot the box-shaped apparatus not far from you down the hallway to your left. It is the same type like in the university, but this one is working at least. You pull out the coins again and the note with it, and as you wait for the coffee to be ready, you stare at the small piece of paper. Wrinkles and fissures show how long you have been carrying it with you, and now it’s even stained brown from the Latte.
There is no use in chasing ghosts, and this one won’t make itself visible to you. You drop it into the bin next to the machine and take the steaming plastic cup. The smell alone is enough to assume that it will taste terribly; not that you expected much else from such a place.
You want to head back to the station when something in the bin catches your attention. It would have been easy to miss it if you hadn’t thrown away the note, but now that you see it, you can’t just walk away. Carefully fishing it out of the garbage, you use your thumb to smooth it inside the palm of your hand.
It is another note, similar to yours. Only that this one… has your name written on it. How peculiar!
This could have been a coincidence for sure, since you doubt to have a unique name within billions of other people, but the last line curls up into a tiny heart. A childish gesture you loved to do when you were younger, and you don’t even remember the last time you told somebody.
How…
You slowly turn around, still completely focused on the note, which causes you to bump heavily into another person. Hot coffee spills over your wrist, and suppressing a curse, you quickly swap the cup into the other hand and wipe the burning skin on your mantle. “Hot, hot, hot! Ouch!”
“Can I help you?”
You don’t have to look up to know what kind of expression you’ll see. It’s the sort of voice offering to help you while they wish for nothing more than you leaving as quickly as possible. “No, thank you. I’m fine. I-“
As you lift your eyes and face the man standing in front of you, you break off in mid-sentence. Dark brown orbs seem to stare directly into your soul, and his face is framed by shoulder-length blonde hair, most likely bleached. He doesn’t look like a doctor, and you assume he’s one of the med students absolving some practical work here.
He doesn’t seem too special, and yet… there is something about him, making it impossible for you to avert your eyes. Something familiar. “Have… have we met before?”
“This is a hospital. I see hundreds of patients every day.” It is said with a sigh, and you want to break loose from his gaze, but at the same time something keeps you bound to those eyes.
You have to clear your throat before you manage to speak. “Well, I… I have never been here except today.”
He shrugs, and you have a feeling that this weird conversation is over now – almost. “Whatever. You better not dig through waste, especially not inside a hospital. I should not have to explain to you why.”
It takes a mere second for your face to turn dark crimson, and you take a sip of coffee to hide the embarrassment, only to twist your mouth at the terrible taste. “Of course not. It’s just… I saw my name written on that note. Which probably sounds even more stupid, but… ah, never mind.”
“Your name. Is that so.” The sound of his voice causes you to look up again, and he is suddenly watching you with renewed interest. Does he know anything about the note, maybe who wrote it in the first place?
Now that he examines you so closely, you have no other choice but to do the same. It turns out that he is quite handsome, in his own distinct way, with that peculiar hairstyle and the eyes that seem to read the deepest parts of your soul. And his lips are curled into a smirk, condescending and maybe even arrogant, but you somehow don’t feel averse to it.
Could it be that Kuina has been right, and you could really use to meet some new people to fill the void inside of you?
“Hey, uhm… would you like to meet for a coffee, maybe tomorrow?”
He doesn’t answer and instead raises a brow as he watches you. Maybe he isn’t the right one to ask after all. You blow into the black liquid that doesn’t deserve to be called coffee and attempt to throw the note back into the bin. “Forget about that.”
A hand quickly emerges from the white coat and catches the note mid-air. “I don’t drink coffee.”
Doesn’t make it better. And yet he still won’t stop to look at you. Why can’t you get rid of the feeling that you have seen him before? And what reason would he have to keep the piece of paper if it has been thrown away before you found it?
“But-,” the hint of arrogance disappears and leaves a smirk that actually seems to be nice, “the teahouse down the road offers a great choice of cheesecakes.”
You blink, momentarily confused if this is a yes or no to your question. “So… teahouse down the road, tomorrow at three?”
“Tomorrow at three.”
He smiles and lifts his hand up for a wave, the note almost hidden behind the grasp of his thumb against the palm, and then he turns around, most likely to head back to work. Still unable to move, you stare at his back, and your brain doesn’t seem capable of understanding what has just happened.
You realize that you didn’t even ask for his name, but you can do that tomorrow for sure. Something tells you he will be there, and you are already looking forward to it. Kuina will be glad that you are finally leaving that note behind, and you have a feeling that it won’t be important anymore.
Who is he? Why does he seem so fascinating to you?
And why do you feel so gravitated towards a guy you have just met?
You would remember those eyes if you had seen them before. Yet something inside of you tells you that you have indeed seen them – just when? And where?
Right before he heads towards a patient’s room, he stops for a moment and throws a look over his shoulder – smiling towards you. It’s enough to awaken a whole army of butterflies inside your stomach, causing you to smile back.
As if he has waited for you to do that, he nods barely noticeable and disappears inside the room without dropping his smirk.
And all of a sudden, the coffee doesn’t taste as bitter anymore.
[THE END]

Note
I knew who he was because I saw a cast listing a month prior and the cap was a dead giveaway but omg I was so upset waiting for them to say his name and they just didn't 😭
The show really said "we'll force Tatta into a shirt AND take away his name!" At least they had the decency to let him keep his cap.
They did him so dirty I didn’t even piece together who he was during all of his scenes until I rewatched everything again today. But the fact that they didn’t even mention his name? That’s beyond dirty. They even namedropped his random friend who got shot by the equally random militant girl (his name was Joe, I remember because I thought it was hilarious).

Tatta Kodai: Manga Versus TV Show, a Look into Poverty and Capitalism
Here is the first in my series of Manga Versus TV Show character counterparts. I adore Tatta as a character and I think Yutaro Watanabe made him so loveable. But the show truly focused on one aspect of his character but didn't dive into the other parts that made him great.
Tatta very obviously has a complex about his father and has some deep rooted issues he never bothered to tackle when he became an adult. He was so adamant about not becoming his father and for Tatta's mother, that's an insult. Whenever she's disappointed in Tatta, she says "You are nothing like your father." She isn't complimenting him. This is supposed to be a negative comment that is supposed to cut him deep.
A funny part of his character and not wanting to be like father, his father worked in a car garage, fixing cars of course. That was Tatta's job in the borderlands. He'd regularly go on runs for petrol and had to fix random cars they come across. He was also the one to fix up all the cars that allowed people to escape the beach and then the King of Spades. Its interesting because by wanting to go into stardom, he obviously wanted to avoid working with cars. But its the very thing he became known for.
Another big part:
Tatta is poor. His family is in severe debt due to his father's passing, which adds onto Tatta's hate for him. Tatta is very childish in the way he has a deep hatred for his deceased father because he doesn't fully understand why it wasn't his father's fault, but the capitalist society. It's funny because show Tatta seems to be aware of that and mentions that he won't be working seven days a week otherwise it'll kill him. Manga Tatta is oblivious to this.
Tatta's dream is to make it big so he can pay off his mother's debt and thank her for raising him as a single mother. It's a very child-like and naive dream because a lot of adults in their fifties can't even pay off their debt alone, never mind their child helping out.
His first idea is to go into comedy. A job where you make people laugh. This connects into the main story where Tatta basically was the optimist sunshine for everyone who cheered them up in their depressed funk.
Due to being poor, Tatta was manipulated and fell for MLMs. He continuely loses money throughout. He invests in ideas that he thinks will work out but they keep asking for money from. He's taken advantage of the entire time.
He's so pathetic that even other working class citizens don't see him as working class. They see him as shit on the bottom of their shoe, all because he can't keep down a job.
Poverty and capitalism play a huge part in Tatta's story. It's not just about feeling useless. It's about the fact that being poor didn't allow Tatta to have the same opportunities as others.
The last words Tatta's mother says to him are "You're truly nothing like your father."
And that's when Tatta realises why she would say that to him. That was the exact moment that Tatta realised that he should have been more like his father. A man who sacrificed himself for his family. Whether or not you agree with that sentiment, its something that Tatta clearly took to heart. Because in the end, Tatta did become like his father.
Tatta died protecting his family.
The show heavily focused on Tatta's insecurities of feeling useless but that wasn't all there was to his character. He was naive but smart, overly confident but a schmoozer and most importantly, he was extremely loyal and kind.
After losing Karube and Chota, Tatta was probably the closest character to a best friend for Arisu, so much so that Tatta impacted Arisu's life so much that Arisu quit the games.
He truly had a very positive impact on the characters and how they proceeded forward in the rest of the manga.
If you have any character you'd like me to discuss the most next please let me know.

You know what's super sad about Tatta's backstory? He wasn't stupid by any means. He had great ideas. He was reading philosophy books. He had connections and friends. He clearly knew how to be charismatic if he wanted to otherwise people wouldn't have put their faith in his business ideas.
The problem actually comes down to the fact he was poor. That was it. He just happened to be in a family that was in severe debt due to his dad's passing.
Incredibly tragic.

Alice in Borderland Season 2 trailer breakdown
Hello everyone welcome to my post dissecting the trailer for Alice in Borderland Season 2. Couple things. This will be in two or three parts as Tumblr only allows 10 images. I had to combine some. I’ll link all next parts here.
Second thing, I am autistic, this manga is my special interest. I have been a fan of it since I was around fourteen years old, read it a hundred times, seen the show a dozen times now. I am extremely critical of the show because I love the manga so much and that doesn’t mean I hate change. I just don’t like change that makes zero sense. I like the new games they’ve added, super fun stuff. It was something I was begging them to do since we only saw a few of the face games in the manga. I love the inclusion of more An and Kuina.
Third. MANGA SPOILERS. Obviously. This trailer post is going to be comparing it to the manga, discussing changes, what’s the same etc. If you don’t want spoilers for season 2, do not read. But those who do, enjoy my erratic autistic post. If I could make an hour one video on this trailer I would.
Part Two can be found here
Tumblr media
Ok so there’s a chapter in the manga that shows found footage, this is from that chapter most likely. It shows off the lives of the people in the borderlands and how they’re coping with the changes to their lives.
Tumblr media
The start of the King of Spades. Couple things to note. On the first image, we see Chishiya is there, just as I thought. Hate this change majorly, it completely messes with the character development of both Chishiya and Arisu. Bad decision from the writers here. At least he gets split apart from the group, that’s  a major plus.
Second and third image, the introduction of the king. Now, again, major changes. The King of Spades, while he would get on the ground, he was mostly a sniper. He was snipe from tall buildings because his bullets allowed him to penetrate even metal (thank you Tatta for that information), seeing him on the ground in jarring but I will say, this could be two completely different parts of the season and they just combined them to throw people off. He could still be a sniper.
Tumblr media
King of Clubs game. First image is the group arriving, that looks like a red car in the back so potentially Tatta Lamborghini scene. Writers will add dumb Chishiya content but not my man’s car, writing a complaint as we speak. Usagi is in her yellow shirt so this is right after the encounter with King of Spades, which is manga accurate. An was with them in the teaser trailer so it may be that she either heads off on her own (we see her hiking) or she’s forcefully split from them.
Introduction of best man Kyuuma. Again, they added these scenes to distract me as they quickly added Chishiya in the Jack of Hearts. Actor seems to be great so far for him.
Fourth image is that sort of “final” showdown where Kuina, Arisu and Niragi (on sight when I see you for what you do asshole) do this big plan to get the most points, which we know fails. Interesting small change. In the manga, Usagi lures away one of the guys, which works as we see there’s only thee of them. Then Kuina lures away another and knocks him out. Then Niragi and Arisu charge in as a surprise attack, but here all three of them are charging in. Curious where this goes.
For anyone who hasn’t read the manga but is reading and is curious, Tatta is here but he’s at their base guarding it.
Tumblr media
Kyuuma is naked confirmed. Kyuuma big schlong shot when???
Tumblr media
The king of Clubs, Queen of Hearts and King of Spades banners.
Tumblr media
New game. As seen by the colours and that board, it’s a team game. I believe Usagi is wearing a red shirt this time, so let’s discuss this.
Okay first of all, there’s a lot to discuss here actually. In the manga, after the King of Clubs game, Arisu and Usagi vow to quit the games due to the death of Tatta, which takes a massive toll on Arisu’s mental health. He and Usagi are not seen in the manga as much after that. We get brief chapters of their domestic life, including more glimpses of Arisu’s PTSD hitting him full force. Because Usagi is in a new shirt, this is after the Clubs game. I thought maybe it could be before but it’s not.
Here’s a couple ways this could go.
1: The show ignores the impact of Tatta’s death and what it did to Arisu.
2: Arisu and Usagi do go off to live together but join in the games sooner. In the manga they only join when it comes down to the final game.
3: We see a kid in the trailer. It’s possible someone asks them to join to help the kid make it out safely which, if that happens, I’ll be less annoyed. It makes sense character wise they’d help a kid out.
Okay onto the game itself, that girl we see in the third picture may be one of the face cards. Queen of Clubs? She’s shown in the trailer a few times, I imagine she’s the leader of the reds so probably the Queen. Can’t wait to meet her.
Tumblr media
Oh boy okay. Um. Yeah let’s get into this.
Akane is here, yay, from the dialogue she’s probably disabled and we see her game which is good. Okay I’m trying to think of positives. There isn’t much. I hope that’s a platonic hug, I’ll leave it at that.
No Doudou. R.I.P Doudou you would have loved Alvin and the Chipmunks my king.
Tumblr media
Kuina up against the King of Spades.
Tumblr media
Yeah...again trying to like, find positives here. I’d rather this was just a Aguni and Akane thing, even without Doudou.
Tumblr media
Ariana what you doing here?????
Like I don’t hate it??? But why. That’s all I have to ask. Does this benefit either of them for their development????? Is Arisu replacing the Doudou role? I HATE THAT. No, give me Doudou or give me nothing.
The lack of Doudou is really upsetting.

Alice in Borderland Season 2 Episode 1 review
First of all, I loved the episode overall, it had some cute and sweet moments and parts that felt like it was ripped from the manga, but parts that weren’t and still felt like they were from the manga. I was really impressed with this episode of keeping the general feel.
As always, spoilers ahead, including some minor spoilers from the manga (nothing major that goes ahead of the current episode, I’ll attempt to keep my manga spoilers to what should have or shouldn’t have happened that episode)
The juxtaposition between Arisu’s shooting game back in the real world versus the King of Spades killing everyone around him was really well done, that was great.
I will say, I dislike the slight plot armour they have during this scene. In the manga it’s pretty much “the king is shooting, get in the car, let’s go, no time to think.” It fit the tense scene more. Also in the manga, Tatta is the one who knows more about the guns that the King of Spades is using, he learned it from watching a lot of movies, giving us a slight glimpse into what he did in his past. Chishiya got the lines instead.
Tatta finally gets a name drop, finally. Also i wrote in my notes ‘wanna kiss Tatta so bad.’
The pessimistic Ann and the optimistic Arisu isn’t something I thought they’d go into but I did like that a lot. I want more of that, more character building please oh my god.
Okay, so, King of Spades is an omnipotent God I guess now because how did he just end up on that fucking car???????????????????????
During the car chase, I noticed Usagi kept holding onto Arisu’s arm which was extremely cute.
Them getting separated by Ann felt slightly convoluted. The manga got to the point a lot easier.
The shop scene was similar to the manga but they added more, it’s always nice to see Chota and Karube again, they were super heart-warming. I think Usagi’s motivation to be that she actually wants to stay is nice, and gives her something new.
Tatta and Kuina iconic duo, their scene was cute. I like that Tatta is more of a car guy here, in the manga we know he fixes cars but that’s about it, we see here he’s actually into them a lot, I hope it’s mentioned in his flashback that his dad was a car mechanic. Also that line about how even with his debts, he wants to go back. I loved that so damn much, it fits his character so well. Despite all the characters having something taken from them or added that doesn’t make sense, they’ve done Tatta really well so far. This part wasn’t in the manga but I can see him saying that, considering his whole thing is wanting to pay off his debts for his mother.
Also Tatta being bitchless is canon.
I’ve said it on my blog but I’ll say it again, heavily dislike the change for why they go to Kyuuma’s venue (King of Clubs). In the manga Arisu notices he’s a super talkative guy, which means he’s more likely to spill secrets. I think it takes away from Arisu and his insane ability to read people so well, which made him the best at Hearts.
Niragi appearing, hate him, but the makeup looks great. The costume department is so good, I loved the King of Spades outfit a lot. Kyuuma’s friends all have great clothes that fit their past lives so damn well.
The small comment from Niragi about how he’s sure he isn’t the one who’ll bring the team down, foreshadowing what he’s going to do to Tatta. I think it’s really great, he can see off the bat who are the dominating personalities in the group and who isn't. I think it’s also great because he turns out to be wrong.
No criticisms for Kyuuma. He’s literally perfect. The actor portrays the character so well, you can see the charisma oozing off him. His mannerisms are almost dance-like, which is what the manga was trying to show off. The music really topped it off for me.
8/10, great episode for the characters. The plot armour was super noticeable this episode though. He had a small part but Kyuuma really was the star at the end.
