Headcannons under cut

These'll be in a random order because I'm typing this wayyyy before I post it

•Katelyn has an under cut with a design and she cut it herself

•Kim got Katelyn to cut her hair because she kept accidentally smalling it in doors

•Zane first got his ears pierced because Gene had his pierced

After he became Aphs friend he wanted to get rid of it because Gene is a no no now until she said it made him look bad ass, so he kept it

He got more when Kawaii Chan said they made him look cute

•Vylad wanted his tongue pierced, but was scared, so Zane went and did it with him

•Aph cusses, not as much as Katelynn, but she still does

•Katelynn is in a poly with Travis and Lucinda. They all have matching piercings on their left ear

•Gene wears eyeshadow, specifically light blue

•Garroth, Dante, Travis, Aaron, and Laurence have facial hair

Garroth has a goofy n poofy beard & mustache (I just have no clue how to draw them so I gave him stubble)

Dante can only grow a mustache

Travis has a short gotie (I can't spell)

Arron has a beard and rubs in against aph for no reason

Laurence has mutton chops and shaves them regularly

•Vylad can't grow facial hair (is jealous of garroth), Zane, and Ein can't grow any either

•Just because I rlly wanted someone to have it Tatiana has the gene mutation of 2 pupils, one iris

•Also ein 100% took "family photos" and still has them

NYX #6 Review

*Spoilers!*

Kiddddeeeennn !!!

The issue starts with Kiden dancing in the rain while going to a “Dazzler concert”…(the scene is really GORGEOUS here!!)

Kiden is soliloquizing about people being a trap… (this is what being friends with Laura DOES to YOU lol)

Kamala is basically me at a concert… that was basically how I was when I recently went through security for Charli’s Sweat Tour…😬😂🤣 (I WISH I could be Anole 🤣🤣🤣🤣)

Does Sophie still have her powers when she says “Cuckoo”? (Idk, this plot point admittedly doesn’t make much sense to me…)

While walking through the venue (they should really be getting into the merch shop line-amateurs…), Kamala is worried she’s not taking the “no contact” with her sisters well…and apparently becoming addicted to video games…

Anole is basically eye-fucking everyone at the venue (GET IT VICTOR 🤣🤣!)

We get a sleight of hand from the writers- it’s NOT actually Kiden, but LOCAL, that Laura smells and is kind of fixating on! (sorry Kiden…you’re too good for Laura anyway!)

Local then shows up to basically hit on Laura/tell her to “stay out of his way”. (Playing hard to get- copied from the Hellion Playbook!)

The team FINALLY remembers the Mojo plot exists. (I get it… Hellion was WAY MORE exciting…)

Prodigy has of course the RIGHT reaction (“Oh Fuck” indeed!)…

Dante is promptly dent to the merch line while they deal with the baddie (finally- it’s 100% going to sell out of all the good items guys!) and Dante offers Sophie to come with and be in the “normie group”…she promptly declines…

Kiden narrates how Mojo has basically been taking homeless mutants and how she didn’t trust Mr. Friendly (and apparently DOES kind of think Laura is a shit friend too!)

The team springs into action while Sophie feels awkward on her secondary team with Anole (sorry Sophie!), while Local brakes into the sound booth.

Prodigy calls out Local and Co.’s evil plan to insert a subliminal message into the music to use Dazzlers fame to essentially get followers (so…TikTok?😂🤣)

Local argues that it’s the same as what they did at the protest (let’s not rehash that last issue, Local…) and that Mr. Friendly is the only one helping homeless mutants (which is TRUE- even BEFORE this event Xavier and Co. We’re terrible at helping the Morlocks…)

Laura talks sense into Local and Local admits to Laura that if he goes back Mojo, he will kill him…but sadly Mojo has already taken over Local’s body… (🥺)

Mojo works the crowd like a BOSS…while lamenting how generic this evil villain plot is (not your BEST work admittedly, Mojo)…

Kiden busts onto the scene to save the day and beats everyone (GO KIDEN!!) and decides to catch up with Laura…while they just…let Local escap? (But the CONCERT guys!!….Seriously though…I get it…I would probably turn the other cheek if I had TS tixs too lol)

Laura totally up and leaves with Kiden without saying goodbye to the rest of the group (AKA probably hooking up with Kiden😘😘!)

Back to the Local subplot…we see Mojo has apparently adopted parasocialism… (but has he read Mark Fischer???)

Review:

This issue was good- fun. Don’t have a lot of complaints.

I didn’t really LOVE the art- some panels, like the rain were gorgeous…some were a letdown…

Dante is still just kind of awkwardly there…but Anole is slightly better in this issue.

My biggest gripe is how NICE Kiden was to Laura and basically letting her AGAIN back into the fold despite Laura being a shitty friend (I felt similarly irritated with Jubes in X-terminators barely saying anything to Laura basically ignoring her for months) …but I feel like that’s potentially COMING in the NEXT ISSUE!

Theories:

Kiden is working for SOMEBODY… either the new Quiet Council or Mojo…and Laura just got kidnapped…

Her POV sounded way too bitter and Laura randomly disappearing, sounds like we are finally going to see someone TURN on LAURA…

I was kind of wondering if Lil Bro, Tatiana, or any of the others in the group are being held/controlled by Mojo…

It would 100% be HILARIOUS if Kiden, Synch, AND Hellions formed a group of basically “Laura’s EVIL EX’s” 😂🤣😈

I *absolutely* believe that Federico would stand below said balcony and recite Lucia's favourite poems ( probably the Canto 5 passage of Paolo e Francesca from Dante's Commedy, her most favourite AMONG ALL).

I can envision it so well, with Lucia just beaming and listening to him as he recites those poems, waiting for him to just climb up her to her balcony (because she KNOWS he would do that. Man cannot stay away from climbing around, as much as he likes to make it believe that it's becasue he needs to follow Ezio and make sure he's not going to fall face first lolol).

AND OMG YES, JUST LIKE ROMEO AND JULIET. ABSOLUTELY

(it kinda helps that my FC for Lucia is the beautiful Olivia Hussey as Juliet from Zefirelli´s movie).

they are my "dark pairings", so to speak, because while I love to dwell in FLUFF galore, and this is something that I generally explore with my Assassin's Creed pairings (though, there is a certain dose of darkness there as well), with Mephisto/Aranea and Bigby/Tatiana I LOVE to explore the darker side of the relationship between two lovers (though, tbh, Mephisto/Aranea take the crown in this, but that's easy because Bigby and Tatiana are still very much decent people altogether, while Mephisto is a freaking Archdevil and Aranea is his Warlock/Consort, so they are bound by their own character alignment - which is firmly on the evil side).

4. Tatiana

Tatiana got a lot of critique for this, and I don’t think it’s as bad as they made it sound. Sure, she titled her head down quite a lot, but I think it’s a credit to her that despite being held at a usually unflattering angle, not only does she still look beautiful but the glee is just oozing from what I assume was her laughing (which translated very well on film honestly). The energy is infectious, and I kinda like the raised arms because it’s like she’s giggling at the feathers raining down on her, which adds to this fun narrative that is enchanting. The bra looks good, and I actually really like the way her hairs has fallen so prettily even though that’s probably not her doing. There’s just a slight sparkle of sex appeal in the whole shot, which is something Christina and Kahlen were lacking in. I think she melded the narrative with the brief rather well overall. (The guy asking for a time-out makes me cringe a little though, lol)

01. Keenyah : 3 weeks in a row Keenyah gives us gorgeous faces. I love the fact that it is half hidden in the shadow, yet she’s still commanding attention with the other half. Her look is mysterious and alluring at the same time. Shed id a great job in my opinion.

02. Tiffany : Tiffany’s expression is really powerful in this picture. She is probably the one that nailed the mother brief the best, she seems very protective and devoted. The body is a bit stiff though.

03. Naima : For some reason I found Naima to be the better model at selling the clothes this week. I think it’s due to the way she’s holding the child and slightly dropping her hip to the right. The face is more forgettable, but she still performed well.

04. Kahlen : Kahlen looks quite good on this picture, her emotion is believable and she is making a solid eye connection with the viewer, which works pretty well for a campaign. But she is kinda disappearing behind the child, as it is where my attention goes first when looking at the picture.

05. Michelle : Michelle’s skin issue was so unfortunate this week. The fact she got to pose with a doll rather than an actual kid is really awkward. However I like the fact that she is still pushing through ; her face look really beautiful and I love her serene expression.

06. Rebecca : I like this sort of playful / mysterious vibe Rebecca is pulling off in this picture, but I think she let herself overshadowed by the wig and the dress. For some reason I just don’t recognize her, and that’s bothering me.

07. Christina : Christina happen to look really good because of how the dress is drapping over her, but she virtually is doing nothing. And while it adds something striking to the picture, I’m not sure her wide open eyes stare is giving me mother vibes.

08. Brittany : There is something unsure in Brittany’s expression that distracts me in this photograph. However the connection with the child is there, so I guess she didn’t do the worst possible job.

09. Tatiana : This photo is bland as hell. It’s a bit disapointing since she showed us she was able to give very strong faces in her photos. Nothing about her performance stands out.

10. Lluvy : Lluvy clearly tried to work it out and to pull off a strong facial expression. Unfortunately, she missed the mark as her features are quite distorted from that angles and she doesn’t seem motherly.

11. Noelle : I honestly Noelle just was torne apart by posing with a child while she was missing her son. All I see in her face is sadness, and her posing lacks any energy while not selling the clothes at all.

This photoshoot was so fucking pointless and so I’m going to follow in the footsteps of other ANTM tumblrs and just rank them in a mass post. I know that other shoots have changed the girls ethnicities (C13 Hapas, C17 Michael Jackson), and while I wasn’t a fan I could still understand the intent behind it. This shoot was just stupid. There was no point in switching races/ethnicities for this, the models could’ve easily just posed with the kids and it would be fine.

She burns bright - almost blindingly so. There is a poignant sense of beauty to it. After all, the brightest stars die first. 

He hopes her end won’t be as grisly.

The hope is, perhaps, more than a bit misplaced. Those that try to get too close without permission are burned. Like Icarus, they lose their wings and fall back to Earth.

He doesn’t know why the Council keeps trying time after time, but he’s certain that when the time comes they will be caught up in her dying throws. As for the rest of them, those caught in her orbit but unable - or perhaps unwilling - to leave, he cannot say what will happen.

For himself, he knows whatever happens will be worth it.

The changes are obvious as soon as she begins to wake again. At least, they are obvious to those who knew the person she was, of which they are far and few between these days.

They are all still caught in her orbit, but her pull just isn’t as powerful as it used to be. She still shines brightly, but not quite so blindingly as she once had. The aliens had done more than just use her for their own needs. Somewhere in those twenty years they also stole part of her very being.

He cannot blame her for putting up a front. She needs to appear strong for the resistance otherwise the entire movement will crumble beneath their feet. It’s a heavy weight on her shoulders - one that he has had no small hand in creating.

There are times when the mask crumbles away, revealing what she really is. The moments are rare, but their scarcity makes them no less painful to any who witness them. She feels guilt at being caught like that, of that he is certain.

She is not such as she was, and it is killing her. When the time comes, she will fade into nothingness.

He can only hope that she will realize that people look upon the nebulae of white dwarves just as they do those of supernovae: with the utmost admiration.
