Comparing kotlc to Teen wolf but I'll explain in case you don't watch it
So Sophie is a True Alpha.
Basically, this means that she became the most powerful kind of Werewolf slowly out of earning it. She got bit by a Werewolf, turned into a Beta, and then slowly became an Alpha because she deserved it.
The Vackers are the hunters.
The hunters are humans who kill Supernatural creatures. Some do join the side of the Supernatural, though.
Keefe is the Nogitsune.
The Nogitsune is an evil spirit that has a dark humor and enjoys chaos. It posses people. The Nogitsune possed a human, like Keefe would be.
Dex is Sophie's beta.
Since Sophie is an Alpha, she has a pack. Dex would be a part of Sophie's pack, and be her beta wolf.
Tam is a Banshee.
Tam is a harbinger of death, with sounds and images that show a potential future for people. His screams are weapons. Convince me Tam isn't a Banshee; try.
Linh is a Kitsune.
Linh is a fox spirit, like the Nogitsune, but not evil. The spirit doesn't have a dark humor, nor does it control her. But it is fiery and powerful. Plus, she would look awesome spinning around a Katan. Headcanon??
Marella is a Hellhound.
Hellhounds are fire creatures.
Rayni is a Werecoyote.
This basically a werewolf, but instead of a wolf, a coyote.
The pack includes the beta's friend group. So, the pack I present (and I like to include Sophie's human sister):
Sophie Foster, True Alpha Wolf
Fitz Vacker, human
Biana Vacker, human
Keefe Sencen, human
Dex Dizznee, Beta Wolf
Tam Song, Banshee
Linh Song, Kitsune
Marella Redek, Hellhound
Wylie Endal, human
Maruca Chebota, human
Stina Heks, human
Amy Foster, human
Jensi Babblos, human
Rayni Aria, werecoyote

I don't know where I've been living, but I've just noticed that Ned Porteous' middle name is Graham.
I mean, come on!
(An interesting note for me, is that one of my male ancestors surname was Porteous and then married a woman with the maiden name of Graham.)

People are so WEIRD about men. Like we can all conceptualize the shittiest misogynistic grifter cishet man. Andrew Tate types. And men like that? I hate them, I recoil in disgust and anger. But that’s just one type of person…that is perhaps representative of the kind of men our society can foster, but that’s it. The same people who allegedly care about dismantling toxic masculinity STILL treat men and boys like mindless faceless soldiers, who have no inner worlds or emotions. “Men DON’T care about therapy,” they say, as if that’s just a individual conclusion every boy and man came to independently because they are men, and not the result of that same exact apathy…like this scenario of women having to sit down with shitty misogynists and convince them to get therapy is missing the point. Because men are people!! People and children and teenagers you can talk to and people I know you love and cherish in your life….so why are we pretending this isn’t the case. Why are we always dancing around this!!!

Lesbian literature & Chicago activism: Valerie Taylor letters, 1964-1975
Tumblr media
“It seems slightly satirical to wish anyone happiness in this messed-up world but I hang on to a possibly erroneous belief that personal happiness is still possible, or how has the human race survived so much?”
--  Valerie Taylor to Jack Conroy, December 26, 1969
Valerie Taylor (1913-1997) was an activist and novelist, especially prominent in the lesbian pulp genre of the mid-20th century. She used many names over the course of her life, including Velma Tate, which is how she signed off letters to her friend and fellow leftist writer Jack Conroy. Her wit shines through this selection of twelve letters, which range from 1964 to 1975. Common topics include the difficulties of publishing, leftist politics, and tongue-in-cheek responses to “Chick tracts” (Evangelical comics intended to encourage conversion to Christianity), which were seemingly often sent to Taylor by Conroy in order to poke fun at them.
"It will be so cozy in hell–everyone I know there.”
-- Valerie Taylor to Jack Conroy, January 12, 1975
Scholars have described Taylor as a key figure in the history of both pulp literature and Midwestern gay activism.
“As both an open lesbian and a political activist, Taylor is a unique author in the pulp genre. Taylor centers the Midwest in her novels and illustrates both the vibrancy of gay life and the beginnings of gay activism in Chicago in the late 1950s and early 1960s… while they are still certainly pulps and share some of the issues found in the majority of lesbian pulps, she takes control of the genre and uses it to disseminate information to the queer community in Chicago, consistently challenging the standard. Taylor differentiates herself by inserting references to books, spaces and terms to help illuminate the reality of the Chicago gay community. She also provides a critique of police entrapment and bar raids, the legal and psychological standing of homosexuals and, most importantly, she portrays her lesbian characters as distinctly human individuals.”
-- Midwestern farmers’ daughters: heartland values and cloaked resistance in the novels of Valerie Taylor, by Jennifer Dentel
Taylor was one of many leftist authors who kept correspondence with Conroy, who was himself a significant contributor to the “proletarian literature” of the early 20th century. These letters provide us a window into the kind of relationships he fostered as well as Taylor’s humor and drive.

Dude fuck moral OCD, that shit is ruining my enjoyment of social media.
Random internet people thinking I'm a bad person just because I don't boost the shit I'm told to is not something I should worry about. Of course it's based on my prior religious experiences, though. First largely from the Pentecostals in foster hell, and then Nanny. The worst part of it is that it's also tied to appeals to faith. It's much harder to heal from when it's part of the religious trauma in the first place.
So now I have this awful knee-jerk reaction to requests to boost something in general. It's getting better with good faith requests, since I am working on my ability to discern based on evidence and trust others. But the more urgent the situation or request, the flightier I feel. And that's just the honest, good faith requests to boost something.
Honestly, the point of making this post is that I know this is a problem, but I'm working on it. It's really hard to retrain your mind as an adult to not see every single request as a life-or-death, moral demand. It got to a point where it frequently induced my avoidance of whatever it was about or wherever it was. It's absolutely miserable.

RE-RE-INTRODUCING: RILEY STEVENS-PARRISH
Full Name: Riley Iris Stevens-Parrish
Birthdate: October 24th, 1999
Hair Color: Light Brown (Natural), Auburn (dyed)
Eye Color: Light Blue
Species: Werecoyote-Witch (by birth), Beta, Witch (s6 onward)
Family: Sophie Stevens, née Parrish (Mother), Jonah Stevens (Father), Jordan Parrish (Maternal Uncle)
Love Interest: Coop Harris
Friends: Marlow Stilinski, Nixie Baker, Bear Wallace, Tilly Cole, Oz Baker, Nina Simms, Mason Hewitt, Corey Bryant, Scott McCall, Malia Tate, Kira Yukimura, Lydia Martin
Likes: Cooking, food, comedy movies, judo, history, cats, nail polish, candles, pins, graphic novels, coffee
Dislikes: Surprises, loneliness, know-it-alls, romantic movies, bright colors, loud noises
Phobias: Open sea, loved ones dying, spiders
Style: Lots of jeans, faux leather pants, usually wearing some type of chunky heel to make herself taller, leather jackets, she doesn't like too tight clothing, likes rings, wears a star necklace
Speech: Californian accent, very firm speech, rarely every quiet
Physical Quirks/Scars: Eyes glow yellow when she’s a werecoyote, purple when she’s a witch, gets a tattoo of a triquetra on her left wrist when she turns into a Pure Witch, very faint leftover scar on her neck
Personality: Tough, snarky, blunt, traumatized, protective, wary, stand-offish, soft deep down, compassionate, smart
Background: Born in Beacon Hills, Riley was born to a witch mother and werecoyote father. She was often cast out by her supernatural peers because hybrids were rarely seen in the community, but her parents made sure to make her feel welcome always. Riley met Marlow in day care and they met Mason a year later. The three were best friends until Riley’s parents died in a car accident and she had to go into foster care because her uncle was too young to take care of her. For years she was in and out of foster homes, some worse than others. During this time she learned how to cook and started attending judo classes for protection, as she sternly refused to use any of her powers on humans. Eventually Riley grew tired of the constantly changing homes and started running away and living in several different homeless encampments. She couldn’t fathom why her uncle never came to get her, and was saddened that everyone else seemed to have forgotten about her. Then Marlow surprisingly comes to take her home and Riley is overjoyed. She joins in on the fight against the Dread Doctors and Sebastian Valet, and meets her uncle once more. Then Sebastian kills her and she resurrects without her werecoyote side. Without a siginificant part of her, and with hunters coming to kill every supernatural in the world, Riley must face not only her own demons, but her traumatic past.

This has been a long time coming, but here is my "Nonspecific/Non-writing RAM playlist". As in, lots of random songs that don't necessarily fit my Alastor, the vibes, or I feel like they only fit some particular situations. Warning: the list is long for absolutely no good reason.
Bubblegum, love, or overall pop-y songs that absolutely do not fit the vibes (or are almost crack) but are funny or awful in context:
Unconditionally [Katy Perry]—Alastor to Vox. Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself) [Ne-Yo]—Alastor to Vox. Walls [Natalie Taylor]—Alastor to Vox. Part of Your World (Reprise) [Jodi Benson]—Vox to Alastor. Irreplaceable [Beyoncé]—Multiverse song that the Voxs probably assume Alastor would sing about them. The Phantom of the Opera [Andrew Lloyd Webber]—Come on, I had to, for Vox and Alastor. Lost in the Woods [Jonathan Groff]—Vox to Alastor, or even vice versa if you're like me and think Alastor is the most. Infinity [Jaymes Young]—This is just Alastor's love song in general, but a lot more twisted in context. FRIENDS [Marshmello, Anne-Marie]—Not my Alastor, but the canon RAM Alastor to Vox. One Last Time [Ariana Grande]—Not a perfect one to one, but Valentino to Vox potentially. Oops...I Did It Again [Britney Spears]—Alastor playing around with Vox's feelings knowing the directive will set in and prevent him from doing anything about it. Slipping [Neil Patrick Harris]—Multiverse Alastor shenanigans. Welcome to My Life [Simple Plan]—Vito to the other Voxs getting RAM'd in the multiverse. We Don't Talk About Bruno [Encanto - Cast]—Multiverse Alastors talking about RAM Alastor. Isabella is Alex in particular. The Best Day Ever [Spongebob Squarepants]—Niffty. Chasing Cars [Snow Patrol]—Vox and Alastor. Horny Angry Tango [Rachel Bloom, Scott Michael Foster]—The fight between Alastor and Vox. GUY.exe [Superfruit]—Alastor, especially in the multiverse. You're My Best Friend (And I Know I'm Not Yours) [Pete Gardner]—Niffty to Vox probably. Confrontation [Jekyll & Hyde]—Main and RAM Alastor, but Jekyll is RAM and Main is Hyde. Those Magic Changes [Sha Na Na]—Vox in the tower during those seven years. Skin [Sabrina Carpenter]—Alastor in the multiverse to all his detractors. Jaded [Miley Cyrus]—Multiverse Alastor to the Vox leading the charge against him. Psycho [Taylor Acorn]—Alastor to Vox. Lover Of Mine [5 Seconds of Summer]—Alastor to Vox. Francesca [Hozier]—Alastor to Vox in the most twisted of contexts. Skyscraper [Demi Lovato]—Vox to Alastor. you broke me first [Tate McRae]—Alastor to Vox. Broken [Lifehouse]—Vox to Alastor. Let Go [Frou Frou]—Alastor to Vox.
Songs that fit the AU a little better but might be questionable for one reason or another:
In the End [Linkin Park]—Vox. Comatose [Skillet]—Vox to Alastor. The Killing Kind [Marianas Trench]—This song is in three parts, but the first part feels very Alastor, especially the building manic pace. Saints [Echos]—A more lucid Vox to Alastor. Scratch [Kendall Payne]—Velvette about herself and Vox. Falling Inside the Black [Skillet]—Vox to Alastor. Hurt [Christina Aguilera]—Velvette to Vox. Silk [Crywolf, MOTHICA]—This is overall a sex song, but I think taken literally it has very Vox and Alastor vibes. Before You Go [Lewis Capauldi]—Valentino to Vox. CEPHALOTUS [Crywolf]—Vox. Without You [Breaking Benjamin]—Valentino to Vox. Leave My Body [Florence + The Machine]—Vox. The Diary of Jane [Breaking Benjamin]—Vox to Alastor. Car Radio [Twenty One Pilots]—Vox. DATURA [paroxysm] [Crywolf]—Vox about Alastor. Believe [Mumford & Sons]—Vox to Alastor. Sail [AWOLNATION]—Alastor. Black Magic [Jaymes Young]—Vox to Alastor. Not Who We Were [Em Beihold]—Niffty. ULTRAVIOLENT [adrenochrome] [Crywolf]—Vox to Alastor. Love [Daughter]—Valentino about Vox and Alastor. Blame [Echos]—Vox. Craving - Acoustic [YMIR]—Vox to Alastor. House a Habit [We Are the Guests]—Not sure why, but it gives me big Niffty vibes. Frozen [Within Temptation]—Vox to Alastor and potentially vice versa. Hate Me [Blue October]—Alastor to Vox, in some ways, but not all. Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) [Eurythmics]—Alastor.
Songs that are incredibly specific to either particular roleplays or circumstances:
Learn to Love [Jessi Smiles, Joey Emmanuel]—Velvette and Valentino to Vox, particularly if he gets his memories back and is trying to move on. Slowly [Susanne Sundfør]—Potentially Vox during the Reassurance phase of my version of the Ordeal. The Seal Lullaby [Eric Whitacre]—The Reassurance phase, and potentially what Alastor would have hummed or sang during it. Angels [Within Temptation]—Either Other Ending or Heaven Ending Vox.
