Working on a Biograft ref so I can draw them. They’re also my favorite, top tier in my opinion
Also can we please protect this dude’s joints? Like I doubt having exposed moving parts is very good for the murderous robot :(
Also yeah. Their casing is based off of armour, but modified.
I rambled in the tags
#no their face isn’t actually like that#its a placeholder because the head is actually quite simple#I’m going to dump some notes here because my Apple Pencil is almost dead#the center panel with the logo opens up to their insides#their back has the Zeta symbol on it (subject to change#originally I was going to but a cloth decoration with the Zeta symbol instead but then I remembered that they’re mass produced and I doubt#Blackrock cares enough to decorate these guys other than for functionality (and the glowy bits)#i was thinking of making them fluffy#like that one art someone on here made#but that would probably be really bad for Heat#I’ll probably doodle a fluffy Bio anyways#we litteraly have Cocoa#they can handle some fluffy bits. just a little#it was going to be around their collar/neck gaurd btw#so I wouldnt have to draw their neck lmao#i might actually go with that. Blackrock is cold (and Biograft overheats but lets ignore that)#I’m rambling sorry#my work#my art#digital art#doodles#biograft phighting#phighting biograft#Phighting!#I havent seen anyone give Bio tassets btw#which threw me off because soldier. I think they deserve armor#also the joints for their legs are probably horribly exposed ifnwe want a good range of motion#but this is ART. WHO CARES?? People make beautiful Bio designs

📣 Check out this incredible set of late Medieval splint/brigandine arm armor! 🛡️
Crafted with 16-gauge steel poleyns, this armor provides excellent protection for the arms. The upper and lower leg armor is made from thick and tough quality leather, riveted with strips of steel. 💪
This combination of materials makes it difficult for any opponent to cut through the leg armor. The thick leather is a formidable barrier, offering significant resistance to piercing and puncturing. 🚫⚔️
Not only does this armor provide outstanding protection, but it also reduces the amount of steel required, resulting in a lighter overall weight. Perfect for the Medieval warrior who values practicality and effectiveness.

Armour of the English Knight: 1440 - 1450
Source: Armour of the English Knight 1400-1450
Great Bascinet: Neckplates now quite closely shaped to the chin and throat, more closely resembling a bevor.
Cuirass: Skirts continue to shorten after 1440, especially with the introduction of the new Italianate tasset form. The english variation of the style usually includes sidetassets often of the same size as the front tassets. Hind-tasset design uncertain, but probably similar to those observed on Iberian and Italian export armour of the same period. Because of the shorter skirt, more of the mail skirt is visible, and is generally shown to be drawn down into long dags at the front, back and sides.
Pauldrons: Asymmetric fluted designs introduced, the right having either a large or small cut-out or "mouth" to accomodate couched weapons, the left fully covering the shoulder and upper arm, offering greater protection especially at the front. Arming points and underarm straps assumed to be present, although not depicted on the effegies.
Vambraces: The side-wings now take on a deeply fluted, shell-like form. Upper cannons closed with straps, lower cannons perhaps with loose-pin hinges or straps.
Gauntlets: Older hourglass form illustrated coexists with the newer type having an extended metacarpal plate.
Leg Armour: Introduction of diagonal flutes on the thigh-plates, new side-wing design to match the vambraces, and cusped uppermost poleyn lane and demi-greave.
Sabaton: Articulation lanes starting to be drawn out into points along the top of the foot. Continued and consistent use of downward lapping construction indicating use of internal leathers.

Spent the afternoon building my infernus marines. I don’t know what it is about clipping, preparing, and gluing minis that I find so relaxing but it’s by far the most relaxing part of the whole process to me. Kitbashing is my favorite part- engage the creativity and all -but even just basic prep is great.
I missed it. :)

i wish milanese-style 15th c. armor didn’t have such gigantic pauldrons. like

this guy has immense drip save for the Bigge Pawldronne. i can absolutely understand the need for it. the power of lance blows increased tenfold over the past century so more robust armor at the likely target is the most sensible solution. but it’s ugly and i hate it. i have grown to love the cuirass that developed after the turn of the century and it kills me that it’s seen almost exclusively with the chonky pauldron
#the helmet is another story entirely i am not a barbute stan#iirc this harness originally had an armet that is either missing or kept at churburg where the armor was originally held#knightposting#ian laspina (knyght errant on youtube) has a really interesting visual reconstruction of what it may have looked like in its original form#also it’s missing tassets that’s important and would change a lot of the visual impact

Judy’s Hand Pavilion by Tony Tasset is located outside the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland (moCa Cleveland) and was part of the 2018 FRONT International Cleveland Triennial for Contemporary Art.
The 7-ton, 21 foot high sculpture is an enlargement of a cast taken from the right hand of his wife, artist Judy Ledgerwood.
