Taruhi no Yukiya: Bloodlines, families, hill ravens, court ravens... They use all that as an excuse to live it up, and they don't care if they split up people's families to do it. On names: The North

Note: We don't know the real names of any of the Northern women, The ones here depicted are their alias or 'karina' (仮名).

The Townships:

垂氷郷 (Taruhi-gou): Taru (垂, hang) + Hi (氷, ice).

風巻郷 (Shimaki-gou): Shi (風, wind) + Maki (巻, coil).

時雨郷 (Shigure-gou): Shi (時, time) + Gure (雨, rain). It refers to rain in early winter.

The Northern House:

玄哉 (Gen'ya): Gen (玄, mysterious) + Ya (哉, questioning/exclamation). 哉 is the kanji version of the grammatical かな (adding hesitation/uncertainty to a sentence). It was also used as an exclamation, but that's more old-fashioned japanese. The Northern Lord.

お凌 (Oryou): O (御, honorable) + Ryou (凌, endure). Gen'ya's legal wife and mother to all his children.

玄喜 (Genki): Gen (玄, mysterious) + Ki (喜, rejoice). First kanji inherited from his father, Gen'ya. His son and heir.

喜栄 (Kiei): Ki (喜, rejoice) + Ei (栄, prosperity). First kanji inherited from his father, Genki. His son and Gen'ya's grandson.

六つの花 (Mutsu no Hana): Her alias means 'Six Flowers'. Gen'ya's first daughter and Shiratama's mother.

白珠 (Shiratama): Shira (白, white) + Tama (珠, pearl). Mutsu no Hana's daughter and Gen'ya's granddaughter.

冬木 (Fuyuki): Fuyu (冬, winter) + Ki (木, tree). It means barren tree. Gen'ya's second daughter, Yukimasa's first legal wife and Yukiya's mother.

Taruhi Township:

雪正 (Yukimasa): Yuki (雪, snow) + Masa (正, justice). Yukiya's father.

梓 (Azusa): It means 'catalpa tree'. Yukimasa's second legal wife and Yukima and Yukichi's mother.

雪馬 (Yukima): Yuki (雪, snow) + Ma (馬, horse). First kanji inherited from his father, Yukimasa. Yukiya's older brother.

雪哉 (Yukiya): Yuki (雪, snow) + Ya (哉, questioning/exclamation). First kanji inherited from his father, Yukimasa; second kanji from his grandfather, Gen'ya. 悦哉 (Essai), which also uses the second kanji, is the word for a male japanese sparrowhawk.

雪雉 (Yukichi): Yuki (雪, snow) + Chi (雉, green pheasant). First kanji inherited from his father, Yukimasa. Yukiya's younger brother.

Shimaki Township:

市柳 (Ichiryuu): Ichi (市, city) + Ryuu (柳, willow). Third son of the Shimaki Township Lord.

茂丸 (Shigemaru): Shige (茂, overgrown) + Maru (丸, round). -maru is a stock way to finish boy names.

Yukiya

The second blockhead son of the chief of Taruhi in the Northern Territories. He went to the Imperial Court as a personal attendant of the young prince.

A. あまりに突然なことで驚き呆れ恐れおののい ております。

A. I am surprised, stunned and frightened by the suddenness of it all.

本編の主人公みたいなものその②。間違って も美少年ではない。心優しいぼんくらのふりを しているが、負けず嫌いなせいで色々とぼろ が出ている。そういうところがまだまだ甘ちゃ んである。なんだかんだ言って坊ちゃん生ま れ坊ちゃん育ち。その本性は家族思いの腹黒。

What is Yukiya from Abe's point of view?

He is like the main character of the second novel. He's not a pretty boy by any means. He pretends to be a kind-hearted, dim-witted boy, but his competitive nature makes his hidden nature come out in many ways. He is still a naive boy in that regard. He was born and brought up as a youth of a well-to-do family. In his true nature, he is a family-oriented scheming person.

Side note: "Yuki" in Yukiya, Yukima, and Yukichi is the character for "snow," and Taruhi means "frost."

Love Live! Nijigasaki VA Tomori Kusunoki Posts Poetic Lyric Video for New Song "Taruhi"

    Today on August 25, with the song's digital release, the official YouTube channel for voice actress/singer-songwriter Tomori Kusunoki (Setsuna Yuki in Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club) also posted a four-minute lyric video for her third digital single song "Taruhi" (means a good day when things are full enough).

  As with her previous two digital single songs - "Akatoki" in December 2020 and "sketchbook" in February 2021, "Taruhi" was written and composed by herself. Her next third EP is already set to be released in the winter of 2021, and this song is expected to be included in the EP.

  The illustrations in this lyric video were drawn by Gaako. Kusunoki says on Twitter, "When I first saw Gaako-san's illustrations, I liked them so much that I immediately asked him for support...(laugh) He was quick to respond to our reckless requests and created a very nice world view in 'Taruhi' and 'Correlatlas'! Thank you very much!"

Love Live! Nijigasaki VA Tomori Kusunoki to Release Digital Single Song "Taruhi" on August 25

    The official website for voice actress/singer-songwriter Tomori Kusunoki (Setsuna Yuki in Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club) has announced that her new song "Taruhi" (means a good day when things are full enough) will be released digitally on August 25, 2021.

  A teaser video for the song posted on her official YouTube channel featuring only her voice, which sounds like she is reading a letter. She says, "Dea Sir. May the world you see now is a warm world filled with light. May the world you draw now is a gentle world filled with colors. Taruhi."

          Also, her yet-tilted third EP is set to be released in the winter of 2021. While performing as a member of the voice actress unit Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, she made her major debut as a solo singer with her first EP "Hamidashimono" in August 2020, then her second EP "Forced Shutdown" followed on April 28, 2021.

"Grisaia" Girls and More Advertise First Frontwing Live Event

  Frontwing, the team behind the hot Grisaia franchise, is taking to the stage this winter. And they're bringing their best music collaborators with them!

  The concert, titled Frontwing LIVE 2017: First Flight, will feature performances by musical acts who have lent their talent to previous Frontwing releases. At present, the roster includes:

Marina Kawano ("Sekai no Hate," Grisaia: Phantom Trigger)

  The concert will be help December 29 and 30 at Differ Ariake. Tickets are 6,480 per night, or 11,960 for both nights. An advance lottery is currently underway, with general ticket sales opening on September 8.
