Card Meaning: Google says "High Priestess is a card of mystery, stillness and passivity. This card suggests that it is time to retreat and reflect upon the situation and trust your inner instincts to guide you through it. Things around you are not what they appear to be right now. Upright card (keywords): Hidden talents, Intuition, Mystery, Spiritual insight, Things yet to be revealed. Reversed card (keywords): Information withheld, Lack of personal harmony, Secrets"
Case for Sky: Sky fits well with the high priestess's themes of intuition, inner voice, and reflection, so I feel like her reasoning is fairly self-evident. Also my fiance says she deserves to be on a card after all the shit she went through in the show
Tumblr media
Case for LeBlanc: LeBlanc is a figure of mystery for most of the season, and her story with Mel also fits very nicely with the themes of secrets, hidden talents and spiritual (or arcane) awakening. Since she shapeshifts all the time, it also fits with things not being as they seem. Also, in this tarot series I already have cards for cosmic machine herald Viktor as well Viktor and Jayce in their last moments in the cosmic space, so I've already devoted quite a bit of space to that storyline, whereas I don't really have a card devoted to Mel's season 2 storyline (I do have a Mel card, though).

The Star - David Malukas
Upright, the Star can represent hope, healing, inspiration, and renewal. Reversed, it can mean disappointments, illness, missed opportunities, and despair.
This one felt a little bare originally so I included some flower symbolism <3 I included violets (the state flower of Illinois, since David is from Chicago), rue (the national flower of Lithuania), and wilted rose petals (the national flower of England, guess what team is from England)

I’m doing some world building for a fanfic of mine and seeing as your probably the only Percy Weasley expert I’ve come across, may I ask: what tarot card would you think describes Percy the best?
Ahhh you’re too sweet 😭😭😭 I think there are tons of better Percy Weasley experts out there for sure !!!
I don’t know much about tarot cards tbh? So I had to do a quick research, and I don’t know if I’m being too literal and somone can come in and disagree if they want to I am not an expert!!!
But I did some research and perhaps The Hermit.
Upright, it means contemplation, search for the truth, inner guidance.
Reversed, it means loneliness, isolation, lost your way.
I think if Percy genuinely thought he was doing the right thing with all the facts he had. No one has heard of Voldemort, and as far they know, he’s still dead and Harry was grieving about watching his friend die (we as the reader know that’s far from the truth and Cedric was murdered just because.)
But right now, he wasn’t alive, and je just got a really cool promotion! Capitalism he won’t be poor and it’s a job he really wanted. Arthur accuses him that it’s a trap and he’s using Percy, and basically didn’t get it with his hard work. Which hurts Percy, especially his pride and diminishes his achievements. They fight we know the rest.
I am a firm Percy defender till the day I die. But I do think Percy lost his way and was isolated for this years. He was probably very lonely, since his family didn’t check up on him. I like to believe that Oliver and Penelope would check up on him, but that just might be me hoping.
Idk sorry for the rambling and if this is inaccurate 😭

Oasis Springs Side Quest: Part V (The Finale)
This tarot-reading pose pack by @radioactivedotcom is the main one I used! Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck and spreads by @the-dewofthesea with some personal tweaks by me.
Previous / Next
Transcript under the cut.
Celeste: “Now, darling, what question will we be posing to the universe tonight?”
Helena: “Oh, I… Well, that’s a pretty loaded question in itself. Maybe we should just ask what I’ll have for breakfast tomorrow morning.”
Ulrike: “Take this seriously, Zhao!”
Helena: “I am. But what if I ask the wrong thing and learn, like, the exact date of my death?”
Ulrike: [chuckles] “I don’t think that’s quite how it works.”
Helena: “Fine. Then I guess I’ll ask what my final year of college has in store.”
Celeste: “Good. I’ve cut the deck. Now, choose four cards at random and, without looking, place them face down in the center of the table. Let’s see what the cards have to tell us about your future. They’re more illuminating some days than others, so we must be receptive to whatever they’re willing to divulge.”
Helena: [nervously] “So what are they saying so far?”
Celeste: “Patience, dear. The full meaning will not become apparent until all the cards are laid out. We must reveal the fourth before we’ll know. Oh. Well, this certainly makes things more interesting.”
Helena: [groans] “Oh, God, what is it?”
Celeste: “You’ll not want to take this one at face value.”
Helena: “Just show me!”
Celeste: [holds up the Death card]
Helena: “Oh, you have got to be kidding me! Damn it, Faust! Why did I let you talk me into this?”
Ulrike: [cracks up] “The way you jumped like Grim himself just entered the room.”
Celeste: “Death is almost never meant to be taken literally in the context of the tarot.”
Helena: “Almost never?!? That seems to imply that it sometimes is!”
Celeste: “Let’s take in everything we’ve got here before jumping to conclusions.”
Helena: “Well, the Lovers has to be us, right? Oh, God, our relationship is going to die, Ulrike.”
Ulrike: “Will you stop freaking out and let her do her job?”
Celeste: “This spread is all about transformation. Many changes are brewing, some more difficult than others. Your relationship will be one of them. You’ll find yourself up against a great obstacle, and the outcome of that struggle will determine if the connection between you and your partner strengthens or weakens.”
Helena: “Okay... And what about the Magician? How does he fit into all this?”
Celeste: “Well, the Magician may symbolize self-actualization. You’ll have to tap into your inner strengths to face the decisions ahead. But it can also be a warning.”
Helena: “A warning of what?”
Celeste: “Illusion, deceit, manipulation. Perhaps a situation that is not as it seems or an untrustworthy individual.”
Helena: “Please don’t tell me I’m going to fall for an MLM scheme.”
Ulrike: “Helena!”
Helena: “What? It’s a valid concern.”
Celeste: “Whatever or whoever crosses your path, the Queen of Swords reminds you of your fortitude. She advises you to remain clear-headed, rational, and objective in your decision-making.”
Ulrike: [snorts] “You’ve already got that part down, Zhao.”
Celeste: With Death comes rebirth, and it is up to you to determine what you make of this new life when it arrives.”
Ulrike: “What’s the verdict? Are you a believer now?”
Helena: “Eh, not really. Transformation, hard decisions, inner strength… It’s so vague! She must follow the same script every time.”
Ulrike: “That Death card got you pretty bad.”
Helena: “It just caught me off guard is all.”
Ulrike: “And all that talk about deception?”
Helena: “I doubt I’ll be meeting a con artist any time soon.”

There is an interesting link between gambling and fortune telling traditions. Tarot was first a gambling game. Just read mahjong is also used for both gambling and fortune telling. Gamblers can be very supersticious people with 'kaballah' theories (thats what they call them - 11 then 29 is a 'kaballah') on roulette numbers and weird ideas about how their luck in the game depends on things like chip colors and which hand they cut a card deck with

would love to hear abt oc lore and why u assigned each tarot cards to them :>
ALRIGHT the basic background for this lore is that I have a couple different stories that take place in the same town (Frettstock) and I decided to make a crossover w/ the individual protagonists of three of them, as well as a fourth character who kickstarts the story surrounding the lore. This would be the premise of the second "book" of my webcomic (that idk if I'll ever actually write) where the fourth character is introduced.
Tumblr media
^The four of them! From left to right: Serena (new to this story), Max (Heartstake Heartbreak), Gilbert (We're Just Young) and Rex (Rex Sucks at Bass). They're all drawn as animals here, but Max and Gilbert are drawn as humans on their tarot cards because they're drawn as humans in their original stories. They're all technically humans but everyone in my webcomic is an anthro animal because they're just easier to draw haha. Gilbert is also drawn as his younger self on his tarot card, about ten years before this story takes place.
Essentially, the four of them are part of a reincarnation cycle I've named The Unlucky Four: four individuals who are destined to play four-stringed instruments and have terrible luck. I'll put the rest of this under the cut since there's a lot lol
The Unlucky Four were the first humans to bear curses from the fairies of the Heartstake Forest. In retaliation, they created guardian fairies - fairies who's purpose is to protect and guide humans. All of this magic experimentation caused their souls to continue to reincarnate, time after time. Each time new reincarnations are born, they receive a new guardian fairy. There may be other reincarnation cycles and guardian fairies tied to Frettstock, but the Unlucky Four are the main ones. I named them after tarot cards because I thought it sounded cool but I imagine the in-universe reasoning is that the original four wanted to keep their identities anonymous when documenting their story & chose tarot cards they felt connected to to represent themselves. The current incarnations of the Unlucky Four are Serena Walker (The Magician), Max Dallas (The Fool), Gilbert Quarters (The Hermit) and Rex Xavier (The Chariot). All of the current incarnations of the Unlucky Four play the bass guitar, which is part of the reason why I chose them lol.
Tumblr media
THE MAGICIAN - The Magician will always bring the four together. She knows how to get things done, and get things done she will... even if these things aren't the "right" thing to do. The original Magician played the fiddle. The current Magician is Serena Walker. I chose The Magician to represent her because it represents resourcefulness and skill when upright, and wasted talent and trickery when reversed. Serena is a bit of an anti-hero. She has a goal & the outcome of that goal may bring about the apocalypse. Who knows. Serena was the first to find out about the reincarnation cycle, years before the rest. As a child, she stumbled upon a hidden section of the Frettstock Public Library and read of her destiny in a book. She's been devoted to learning as much as she can surrounding the reincarnation cycle ever since.
THE FOOL - The Fool is ruled by impulse. She doesn't think, she just does. The Fool's willingess to do anything and blind trusting nature compliment The Magician's skills and drive. The original Fool played the banjo. The current Fool is Maxine "Max" Dallas. I chose The Fool to represent her because it represents innocence and freedom, as well as recklessness and gullibility when reversed. Max has had a troubled past and is starting to build a better life for herself. She gets easily attached to anyone who gives her the time of day and will do anything for them without thinking. This happens to her with Phoebe Jean Weathers in her original story, and with Serena in this one. No matter what happens to her, Max will always trust those who are kind to her, sometimes to her detriment. She has a short temper and an even shorter attention span.
THE HERMIT - The Hermit thrives in solitude. His first instinct is always to be alone. The Hermit is always at least a decade older than the rest of the four, and acts as a sort of wise, advice-giving mentor figure. The original Hermit played the mandolin. The current Hermit is Gilbert Quarters. In his original story, Gilbert is a loner who hates conflict. He hates asking for things and would rather be miserable than be in an awkward situation. I chose The Hermit for him because it represents solitude and self-reflection, as well as loneliness and isolation when reversed. At the time he appears in this story, Gilbert is a semi-famous rock star with a drinking problem who is considering turning his entire life upside-down and moving back home. His wider character arc involves him learning to balance his solitude alongside relying on old friends.
THE CHARIOT - The Chariot is conflicted. He is pulled in different directions by everyone around him - but if he is driven away, he will always come back. If the Magician brings the group together, The Chariot keeps the group from falling apart. The Chariot and The Hermit will always find each other before the full group is united. The original Chariot played the dulcimer. The current Chariot is Rex Xavier. Rex spent the first twenty years of his life totally lacking direction, but now he's doing whatever he can to move forward. He is constantly in crisis over some aspect of himself. I chose The Chariot for him because it represents determination and success, as well as aggression and lack of control when reversed. Rex & Serena were intended to be foils even before I came up w/ this lore, like a mutual "I think you're so much better than me but I also think you're bad" kind of dynamic.
Thanks for reading this extremely long winded post to the end! I only have the lore and some minimal plot details rn, but maybe one day I'll write it all out. Maybe it'll even be a comic someday. Maybe I'll end up hating it and rewriting the whole thing. Who knows.

not a mutual but i saw your post asking for tarot readings and i love things like that. could you do a general reading for me? (:
hello! i’m so so so sorry about how long i took to answer this agdhfjbkk i have just been. very busy
so here’s what you got:
Tumblr media
the knight of wands and nine of pentacles!
basic meanings:
so the suit of wands is to do with creativity and action, and the knight is also to do with action – specifically the idea of bringing something into your life, like news or change or new people.
the suit of pentacles is to do with the material world, practicalities, money and stability, and the number nine is to do with growth and wishes
my interpretation:
this was actually a really obvious reading? and also very positive, so good for you. through your own action you are bringing about the beginning of a new stability in your life, whether that is financially or otherwise. hooray!!
