I've decided that i want to disrupt the strightsized/midsized thriftblogger industrial complex for my fellow actually fat people. I havent been as small as a size 18 since senior year of highschool and my waistline is sitting comfortably at around 50 inches these days and i thrift but it's frequently humiliating. Here are my tips.
one: there isn't nothing. It might be slim pickings. It might be a single rack in a 2 story shop. It might be only 2 pairs of pants in the whole place. But you've been on the street and in the grocery store. You know there are other people your size in the world and their stuff ends up a thrift store too.
two: avoid trendy areas like the plague. do you live in a smaller town? do you have reason to go to one? go to a thrift store there. if you know there are more people your size in an area, then that's a good sign for your chances. you aren't looking for designer pieces at a steal; you are looking for some gently used lane bryant and this is where it lives.
three: it isnt all or nothing. you can get some things thrifted and some things you're probably going to have to buy at a plus sized store. Getting a few nice blouses for cheap can free up your budget for a pair of new pants from a plus sized retailer. For instance, I really cant thrift a pair of shoes for shit because i have extra wide feet and cankles for days, but my partner who is a similar weight has regular sized feet and could thrift shoes easily, and that's a lot of money that could be saved there.
four: if it only almost fits, put it back. if you're anything like me, the fact that you can button or zip it is going to feel like a miracle, but if it hurts or digs in any way, it'll sit in your closet for weeks while the things that don't hurt get worn many times in a row. we don't always have the luxury of everything in our wardrobes sparking joy but it can at least not spark pain.
five: be honest. if you aren't going to fix it or take it out, don't waste your money on a project piece that's going to sit around for the next 2 years and go back to the thrift store from whence it came.
five point five: be a little adventurous though. especially with shirts and dresses. maybe you've never tried that color before but it looks good in the store. this is a low stakes way to expand your style. you can always get rid of it if you decide against it, either within a return window, or donating it back. If your thrift store gives coupons for donating, taking a small grocery bag with a few pieces will get you the same discount as a car full of old furniture, so donate small amounts and often.
six: if you're thrifting online, thrift the brand you trust. like i hinted above, i trust lane bryant. i also trust torrid because i'm tall and torrid is for me and the transfems. search on shopgoodwill or depop or whatever by the brand you know the sizing of. hell, you can also seach the box store brand like time and tru or ava viv on there if you miss that one piece from a year or two ago that was cute and fit you perfectly. Speaking of...
seven: goodwill gets target overstock. you can find new overstock stuff from last season on the racks. i've seen many a thing go from clearance at my local target to on the shelves at the goodwill. keep it in mind if you're broke but used clothes yuck you out. you can find new with tag stuff in plus sizes, either from stores directly or people who just aren't fussed about money.
eight: you have to go a lot to find stuff. that's how the bloggers do it; they made it their side hustle in some way. i don't suggest doing it if you have no interest in it, but if you can put aside a half hour once a week or twice a month to check while you're running your errands, you can start finding stuff. Keep your trips and your budget small, and start looking for stuff for the next season months ahead of time to keep the pressure down.
nine: save a treat. either literally go for a treat afterward for being a big brave bestie and confronting the fact that you have a corporeal form and it needs clothes, or look through the fun thing that relaxes you. Looking for silly mugs? trying to find fine leather purses? want to look at ugly figurines and take pictures of them to text your friend and say "it's you'? Do that. Every time you go to the thrift store, add in the fun thing. If looking for work clothes can't motivate you, maybe looking through the children's paperbacks to try to rebuild your collection of animorphs books that you got rid of in 2005 will.
lastly: cut out the middle man. if you have a friend or relative of similar size to you: TRADE the pieces you're pruning from your wardrobe with each other before you donate them. It will give you the spark of newness that you both are looking for. Also you can reference the "those shoes... look familiar..." vine when you see them wearing something you gave them.
tl;dr: thrift often and in small doses, make it fun for yourself if you can, and also i just heard a tip where if you want to check a waistband size without trying it on, have the waistband fully closed and hold it to your hip. if the ends of the waistband reach your spine and bellybutton, it'll probably fit. So that's pretty handy.

How to Transform Your Small Dining Room
Limited dining room space doesn’t mean sacrificing style or functionality. I’ve found that a compact dining space can become a beautiful gathering spot without expensive renovations.
Most homeowners think they need large spaces and costly decor for an attractive dining room. Smart furniture choices, creative storage ideas, and budget-friendly decorating can make every square foot count. Mirrors placed strategically, DIY wall art and space-saving furniture can improve our small dining rooms significantly.
This piece offers practical tips and affordable ideas that will help you revamp your dining space. You’ll learn to pick the perfect table and create stunning wall displays while staying within budget.
Smart Space-Saving Furniture Solutions
Smart furniture choices can maximize our dining space. Modern furniture solutions give us amazing versatility and style. dining room interior design, They work great without losing functionality.
Choosing the right-sized dining table
The perfect table size makes your space work better. A good dining table needs 36 inches of clearance on all sides so people can move around easily. Round tables are great space-savers dining room interior design simple, because they don’t have sharp corners and help traffic flow better Here’s what you should think about when picking your table:
Measure your room dimensions carefully
Account for chair movement space
Think about the number of regular diners
Plan for occasional entertaining needs
Multi-functional storage furniture
Furniture that serves multiple purposes helps maximize space. dining room ideas, Today’s dining sets pack clever storage solutions. Tables with built-in shelves underneath store dinnerware and wine bottles perfectly You’ll find these smart options:
Tables with integrated wine racks
Dining sets with storage-equipped stools
Tables with built-in drawers
Units with underneath shelving
Foldable and expandable options
Transformable furniture changes the game for small dining spaces. This category shows amazing progress. Expandable tables can grow from a compact console to seat 12-14 people . These clever solutions make life easier.
Drop-leaf tables fold down for daily use, while extendable dining tables adapt well for guest visits . dining room interior design ideas, These tables come with mechanisms that make changes quick and simple
Modern expandable tables shine with their flexibility. They work as desks during the day and become dining tables at night . Some even switch from coffee table height to dining height, which works great in tight spaces.
Console-to-dining tables give you an elegant answer if you host often. These pieces stay slim against your wall most days until you need more space. The design looks sophisticated whether it’s expanded or compact.
Friendly Wall
I’ve found that giving dining room walls a fresh look doesn’t need expensive artwork or professional help. dining room interior colour, Let me share some creative ways to add character to your walls without spending too much.
Creating a gallery wall on a budget
The sort of thing I love was spotting beautiful abstract paintings with gold frames at Target for under 8445.45 A gallery wall needs everything to work together. Here’s what works best:
Start with sentimental pieces you already own
Mix different mediums (photos, prints, plates)
Use consistent frame finishes (like black and gold)
Create visual balance with varied sizes
Add pieces gradually over time
Pro tip: Gold picture frames with mats in different sizes look sophisticated. dining room decorating ideas, They fit perfectly above small nooks or corner areas.
floating shelves for style and storage
Building floating shelves saves money and it’s easier than you might think. We built stunning shelves using select pine wood for around 8445.45 -10556.81. dining room decorating ideas on a budget, The support system makes all the difference – I used 2×4 boards ripped in half to get a sleeker 4-inch profile
These tips will help you succeed:
Aspen wood takes stain better
A strong support frame matters
Wood filler makes corners look smooth
Sand edges and corners well
Affordable wall paint techniques
Paint techniques can add drama to dining room walls without costing much Here are my favorite methods:
Color Washing: Start with an eggshell finish base, then apply glaze in circular motions with a dampened rag. This creates a beautiful, inky look that adds depth .
Half-Painted Walls: This technique creates the illusion of architectural detail. A laser level helps get perfectly straight lines between colors.
Ombré Effect: To get a smooth gradient, blend connecting colors 50/50 and paint a four-inch transition strip. dining room decorating ideas small, Use separate brushes for each color to keep them clear
Note that these changes don’t need expert skills – just take your time and let your creativity flow. DIY projects save money and make our dining spaces more personal.
Thrifty Lighting and Accessories
Your dining room’s ambiance depends on the right lighting and accessories.dining room decorating ideas with mirrors, I want to share some amazing ways to create stunning results without spending too much. Here are some budget-friendly ideas to light up and decorate your dining spaces.
Budget-friendly pendant light options
Beautiful pendant lighting doesn’t have to cost much. I got a beautiful lantern pendant at a huge discount during Black Friday sales My search for pendant lights focuses on versatile options that work in smaller spaces. dining room decorating ideas pinterest, work really well, and you can use them alone or group them for a dramatic look
These measurements work best for light placement:
32-36 inches between table and fixture for 8-foot ceilings
36-40 inches for 9-foot ceilings
40-44 inches for 10-foot ceilings
Upcycled decor accessories
Old pieces can get a new life easily. dining room decor, BHere’s how I turned everyday items into beautiful centerpieces:
Old coffee table pieces became unique table runners
Decorative wood scrolls turned into display boxes
Vintage vinyl records transformed into decorative bowls
Old book pages became roses for literary-themed centerpieces [50, 52]
Strategic mirror placement for space illusion
A small dining room looks bigger with smart mirror placement. One large, dramatic mirror creates better results than several small ones. dining room decoration items, Here’s what works best:
Mirrors should reflect natural light from windows
Mount mirrors at standing eye level (about 60 inches from the ground)
Keep a 4-inch gap between buffet and mirror
Pick mirrors that match your room’s style (ornate for traditional, sleek for modern)
Don’t place mirrors where people can see themselves eating
Pro tip: Mirrors near windows help natural light reach deeper into the room and create an amazing open feeling You can find great deals at places like Goodwill. I once got a brand-new Target mirror at half price there
Large mirrors with minimal frames create the most impact in your space . This approach helps make even the smallest dining rooms feel more spacious.
Creative Seating Arrangements
Your dining room’s functionality depends on smart seating arrangements. dining room interior design images, Creative seating ideas can change even the smallest dining spaces into warm gathering spots.
Mix-and-match dining chairs
Different chair styles add visual interest without making guests uncomfortable. Here are the basics I stick to when picking chairs:
Keep chair heights about the same
Pick pieces that share at least one common element
Make head chairs a bit grander than side chairs
Keep things cohesive through similar materials or colors
You can create an elegant look by matching upholstered head chairs with simple side chairs. This setup adds weight to the table ends while the sides stay light and open .
Building a DIY banquette
A custom banquette saves space and ranks among my favorite solutions .dining room interior ideas, A well-built banquette fits more people in less space. These measurements work best:
Minimum seat depth: 18 inches (excluding back support)
Additional depth: 6 inches for back cushioning
Seating width per person: 21 inches minimum
A large corner banquette costs about 42227.23 for materials and 12668.17 for fabric and foam. Hidden storage under the seats makes it even more useful – just add hinges so you can reach inside easily
Space-efficient bench seating
Bench seating fits more people in less space. Three adults fit comfortably on a standard bench, but it can squeeze in four adults or five kids when needed Benches work great because they slide completely under the table when empty, which cuts down on clutter
Wooden benches feel cozier with upholstered cushions. dining room decorating ideas pinterest, Models with low arms give support while letting people slide in and out easily. L-shaped corner benches with storage underneath work wonders – they’re perfect spots to keep dog food or extra linens .
Your dining table looks great against a wall or window. This setup gives you more walking space and creates a cozy breakfast nook feel . Wall-mounted dining tables match perfectly with bench seating, which shows that any space can become a proper dining area
Storage-Smart Dining Solutions
Storage solutions have changed how I organize my dining room.dining room decor, My experience with different storage techniques has taught me that making the most of available space is crucial. The key is to balance style with usefulness.
Hidden storage furniture hacks
Hidden storage keeps essentials nearby but out of sight. Furniture with concealed compartments can turn a messy dining space into a tidy sanctuary. Design experts say, “Having an appropriately sized credenza or sideboard in the dining space will not only add functionality but also provide additional storage
The best ways to organize include:
Using decorative baskets or boxes for stylish concealment
Installing cabinets with doors or drawers
Adding floating shelves with hidden compartments
Incorporating bench seating with storage underneath
Vertical storage ideas
Limited floor space made me look upward for solutions. Vertical storage became my secret weapon to make the most of dining room space. dining room interior design images consider customized solutions for underutilized areas
The IKEA BOAXEL system works great in different spaces. It takes storage almost to the ceiling better than other options I tried . Custom trim on cabinets creates a built-in look that extends fully to the ceiling.
Double-duty dining furniture
Furniture serving multiple purposes changed everything. The Plurimo table stands out as a perfect example. It expands in width and length to seat six to twelve guests comfortably Such versatile pieces have changed my view of dining room usefulness.
My criteria for selecting multi-purpose furniture includes:
Expandable surfaces for various occasions
Built-in storage compartments
Adjustable height capabilities
Hidden storage channels
Tables with inner channels are clever additions that can “handily stash serving ware or bedding Pieces that switch from coffee table to dining height work best in small spaces.
Modern storage solutions now blend naturally with technology. New cabinet designs include charging stations and LED lighting alongside storage space . dining room interior ideas, This mix of usefulness and modern features has revolutionized dining room organization.
Light-colored furniture creates an illusion of space in formal dining rooms. Tall storage solutions draw the eye upward and make rooms feel bigger . torage can enhance the room’s appearance while serving a practical purpose.
Pro tip: The best storage solutions match your existing décor naturally. Glass doors on storage units add light and visual appeal while keeping items protected.
Conclusion
Beautiful and functional small dining rooms don’t need massive budgets. dining room interior colour, V My work with space-saving furniture, DIY decor, strategic lighting, and smart storage solutions shows that creativity matters more than square footage.
Success depends on making purposeful choices. We need expandable furniture that serves multiple functions, budget-friendly wall treatments that create visual interest, and clever storage solutions that maximize vertical space. Simple changes can make dining rooms feel more spacious. Strategic mirror placement and proper lighting work wonders.
A small dining space transformation takes time. The right-sized furniture and proper lighting should come first. Decorative touches and storage solutions can follow later. Each improvement brings you closer to creating that perfect gathering spot. Your family will make memories here for years to come.

What are EDCs And How it’s Dangerous?
Endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) are exogenous chemicals that interfere with hormone action, thereby increasing the risk of adverse health outcomes, including cancer, reproductive impairment, cognitive deficits, and obesity.
The endocrine system is composed of glands that secrete chemical messengers (hormones) that interact with specific targets (receptors). These interactions lead to the regulation of a vast set of functions, including growth, development, reproduction, energy balance, metabolism, and body weight regulation
EDCs come from many different sources, people are exposed in several ways, including the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the water we drink. EDCs can also enter the body through the skin. Common examples of EDCs are Industrial chemicals and pesticides, some processed foods, Soy-based products, and even household dust.
The group of molecules identified as endocrine disruptors is highly heterogeneous and includes synthetic chemicals used as industrial solvents/lubricants and their byproducts [polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs), dioxins], plastics [bisphenol A (BPA)], plasticizers (phthalates), pesticides [methoxychlor, chlorpyrifos, dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT)], fungicides (vinclozolin), and pharmaceutical agents [diethylstilbestrol (DES)].
Do EDCs really threaten our endocrine system?
Various researches have shown that EDCs could be very harmful to the system. For instance, EDC can interact with or activate hormone receptors, antagonize it and further alter the hormone receptor expression. It has also been shown EDC has the ability to alter signal transduction (including changes in protein or RNA expression, post-translational modifications, and/or ion flux) in hormone-responsive cells and induce epigenetic modifications in hormone-producing or hormone-responsive cells. It can also alter hormone transport across cell membranes and change the hormone distribution or circulating hormone levels. Moreover, it can also alter hormone metabolism or clearance and alter the fate of hormone-producing or hormone-responsive cells.
Thus, after coming across threats pose by EDCs, it would be a great move to go for 100% pure, non-toxic, and EDC-free products for healthy well-being.
EDC has the ability to affect different persons differently. For example, the effect that it incurs on females is quite different from her male counterpart.
EDCs on Female Reproduction
Development and function of the female reproductive tract depend on coordinated biological processes that, if altered by endogenous or exogenous factors during critical periods of development or during different life stages, could have significant adverse effects on women’s health and reproductive function and outcomes.
A key question arises as to whether EDCs contribute to the development of female reproductive disorders, particularly those occurring during a critical window of susceptibility: in utero, neonatally, in childhood, during puberty, and during adulthood. There are increasing data from wildlife studies and laboratory studies with rodents, ungulates, and nonhuman primates that support the role of EDCs in the pathogenesis of several female reproductive disorders, including polycystic ovarian syndrome, aneuploidy, POF, reproductive tract anomalies, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and ectopic gestation.
Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
PCOS is a heterogeneous syndrome characterized by persistent anovulation, oligo- or amenorrhea, and hyperandrogenism in the absence of thyroid, pituitary, and/or adrenal disease. It is plausible that in utero exposure of human female fetuses to androgen-like EDCs could result in PCOS in adulthood, along with associated metabolic disorders. Very recent evidence for androgenic properties of personal-care products such as triclocarban adds to the possibility of environmental androgens, although a connection to PCOS has not yet been drawn.
Some studies have indicated that organochlorine pesticides (synthetic EDCs) adversely affect the ovary by reducing ovarian weight, follicle growth, and oocyte viability and/or increasing atresia. Several studies show that pesticide exposure is associated with reduced fertility in women and animal models. Organochlorine pesticide exposure was associated with an increased time to pregnancy in women.
Epidemiological data show that the selected EDCs are associated with adverse fertility outcomes such as reduced gestational age, weight, pregnancy gain, increased risk for miscarriage, and time to pregnancy in women. Experimental data show that EDC exposure during adulthood caused a range of effects such as estrous cyclicity abnormalities, decreased pregnancy rates, decreased pup survival, and the increased onset of reproductive senescence. Some studies report that EDCs exert toxicity through estrogen receptors, aryl hydrocarbon receptors, and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor activation mechanisms, but they have not examined other potential pathways.
Endocrine Disruptors and Child Health
The exposure may occur early in life as every pregnant woman has EDs in her body and may transfer them through the placenta to the fetus and through milk to the infant. Inhalation, oral and dermal exposures are the main routes of adult exposure to environmental chemicals. EDs may act via classical nuclear receptors, nonnuclear steroid hormone receptors, nonsteroid receptors, orphan receptors, enzymatic pathways involved in steroid biosynthesis and/or metabolism, and other mechanisms involved in endocrine and reproductive system function.
The environmental toxins have been found in our air, water, and soil as well as in a range of household products, including children’s toys. Bisphenol A (BPA) is used in certain children’s toys, plastic bottles, and food containers, food can linings, and cash register receipts. The concern has grown since even a low level of exposure to EDCs can affect body functions, particularly in the most vulnerable populations including infants and children. Some EDCs may be stored in fat cells for years after exposure and may be passed on to children during pregnancy or when breastfeeding.
How to avoid EDCs
Although scientists are still working to understand how endocrine disruptors are accumulated and excreted, they do know that significant levels of these compounds can be detected in a vast majority of people today. Although tests that measure the presence of the metabolites made by endocrine disruptors can give you an idea of your overall exposure to these insidious chemicals, detoxification treatment protocols aren’t yet well-defined.
What experts do know, however, is that certain endocrine disruptors tend to accumulate in body fat. In such cases, simply losing a few extra pounds may be enough to decrease chemical concentration and restore optimal fertility. In most cases, the best way to protect your fertility from the harmful effects of endocrine disruptors is by taking steps to minimize your exposure to EDCs in the first place.
The first step in avoiding these ubiquitous chemicals is knowing that they can be found in a wide range of everyday products, including commonly used pesticides and herbicides, plastic bottles, vinyl shower curtains, metal food cans, nonstick cookware, detergents, and coatings used on fabrics, furniture, and carpeting. They’re also found in many personal care products, including shampoo and cosmetics.
Wash your hands often Frequent - handwashing helps wash a substantial amount of chemical residue down the drain. Just be sure to avoid antibacterial and fragranced soaps, which are known endocrine disruptors.
Keep your house clean - Flame retardants and other industrial coatings can escape from fabrics, furniture, carpeting, and electronics and accumulate in household dust. You can minimize these free-floating, breathable chemicals by routinely dusting with a damp cloth and cleaning your carpets with a vacuum that has a HEPA filter.
Use less plastic - Switch to Purely family EDC-free household products. Because research shows that even very low-dose exposure to BPA and other plasticizers can be detrimental to fertility and reproduction, it’s a good idea to eliminate as many products made with plastic or vinyl from your life as you can. Swap plastic cups for glasses, use stainless steel or glass storage containers instead of plastic ones, opt for reusable fabric baggies, and keep food fresh with beeswax-coated cloth instead of plastic cling wrap.

Top Stores for College Students and People on A Budget in the US:
Dollar Tree:
Dollar Tree is my go to place for cheap food. Not Dollar General or Dollar Family, the true “everything for one dollar store!” The one by my university has all the basics, like bread, peanut butter, jelly, macaroni and cheese, pounds of sugar and flour, bags of dried beans, tortillas, frozen vegetables, egg noodles, broth, almond milk, and half gallons of Arizona Tea!
However, they do have a broad range of other useful goods such as shampoo, conditioner, notebooks, books, holiday decor, cheap hardware tools, sets of paint rollers and holders for home renovating, first aid supplies, gardening ware during the summer and spring, mugs, cheap kitchen ware, gift wrap supplies, office supplies, perfume, and art supplies.
Target:
Target is one of those stores that you have to know where the deals are at. My Target puts any holiday decor that gets put on clearance in the back corner of the store where they typically sell other seasonal goods. They also tend to put clearance sections on end caps in the home goods section, but I usually go for the end of season clearance since they get discounted to around 60% of the price. The front of the store by the entrance is where they keep the cheap 1-5$ seasonal goods, but the best Targets to go to for this section of the store, are the ones by colleges, since they usually try to keep cheap dorm goods in this section year-round.
I recently got two full sized pillows for $5 (as a pair, so $2.50 each) in home goods on 50% clearance and mini tombstones for my desk that were $1 each in the seasonal section at the front of the store. I’m always hawking over the clearance section for cloths by A New Day and Wild Fable, since they are simple and affordable brands that I love the style of. I managed to get a couple of black crop tops by Wild Fable on clearance for about $1.20-$4 each.
Publix:
Publix is THE PLACE for couponing. They have a list of buy one get ones (BOGOs) every week, and they keep the weekly ad with this information by the entrance. Any BOGO that doesn’t require a coupon, can have one store coupon (Publix or one of its competitors) and one manufacturer coupon per deal (i.e. $1 off of every one item can be used on the BOGO items as well, as long as you have two of the coupons, but $1 off of two items will count as a coupon on each of the two items) and you can put a 5$ or 10$ off of 50$ purchase or the like on-top of all of that, as long as you reach the requirements on the coupon, and its either that specific store’s competitor or one of their own deals.
Kohl’s:
I love checking out the clearance sections in Kohl’s! The last time I was there I bought a soft black dress, a black short sleeved shirt, a pair of pants, and a soft pair of gray and black yoga pants that I love sleeping and wearing around the house in, for just about $13 bucks, that the amazing cashier manage to bring down to (originally about $16) by letting me know about a 20% discount that’s online. There’s also a clearance section in the makeup/ self care section, where I got a pack of face masks for $1.40, and nose strips for about $2, and an EOS lip-balm for $1.99.
Thrift Stores:
They can be a hit or miss in both merchandise quality and pricing. I mainly go to thrift stores for heavy furniture, such as desks and book cases. Sometimes you can get a nice desk for $25 and sometimes it’ll cost you $100. The end of school season at the beginning of summer is a good time to go shopping for furniture, because some people will be graduating and moving on to a new place, and you don’t have that moving in to the dorms crowd quite yet.

“We can’t do this” kisses for nodrian
this! was! so! much! fun! to! write!
okay but like, seriously, this may not be one of my best pieces, but it may compete with one of my favorite’s i’ve written
also, I really need to stop posting after midnight
this is based off of a kiss (kinda) prompt!
Nova wrung out her hands, eyes flying over the tiny studio apartment that was her home. She was almost nineteen years old and had moved into the apartment right after she had turned eighteen, yet she still had unpacked boxes laying around. But, for today, those boxes were shoved into her bathtub and hidden by the curtain, away from view. She had made her bed for once and wiped down the slab of surface that was her kitchen countertop and even vacuumed. Her apartment was sparsely furnished, which made cleaning for an event like this easier, she supposed. It had all the necessities: a bed, a dresser, a fridge, a stove and oven, a dishwasher, a small breakfast table with mismatched chairs, a second hand couch that had belonged to Ruby, and a coffee table she had salvaged from a garage sale. There was a laundry room downstairs for all of her clothes washing necessities. The only nice thing she had on display was the TV Adrian had given her, and even that was used; it was his old one from his room before he had bought himself a new one.
Now, Nova was a relatively tidy person. Not the cleanest person she knew, as she tended to leave her bed unmade for long periods and neglected to put dirty clothes in the hamper until laundry day. But today, she had to be the epitome of cleanliness. She scanned the five hundred square foot space for dirty clothes hiding, or, God forbid, the one piece of lingerie that she had received as a gag gift from Danna last Christmas. She had stuffed it deep within her least visited drawer of her dresser, not caring for the showy red lace. Bleh. She hadn’t seen it since she had buried it, but it would be just her luck for it to show up today, of all days.
She had been living in her apartment for approximately ten months, and Adrian Everhart was just now coming over. Not to see the space. No, they had plans to discuss one of Adrian’s recent projects concerning public schools. After the Final Battle, he had delved into a lot of volunteer work, helping to better the school system and helping the homeless and building shelters for those in need, among dozens of other things. Nova, on the contrary, had been pardoned by the Council for, in simple terms, doing more good than bad, and for helping them beat the Anarchists in the Final Battle. At the time, Nova had still been bitter and angry. She had wanted to yell at them that she wasn’t helping them because she had a change of heart, but she was helping them because her uncle had much more planned for Gatlon than Nova had known, and it would have resulted in thousands upon thousands of innocent lives being lost. But she hadn’t, for one wrong word would’ve sent her to prison, possibly for life. So instead, Nova chose to work with them, and speak out for improving the government and making it a democracy where the citizens could be involved instead of letting the Renegades handle everything. Others joined her cause, even older citizens. While she was still involved with the Renegades creating a plan to change the way their small portion of the world was governed, she had put more time and interest in helping the citizens of Gatlon in self defense and being able to rely on themselves and targeting a large age demographic. The public had been tentative at first, seeing as Nova came from a questionable past, but slowly, her program began to gain popularity. Still, she hadn’t completely earned the public’s trust. She received hate and criticism from strangers, and many still crossed the street when she walked down the sidewalk. But she had gotten used to it.
There was a knock at the front door, jolting Nova out of her thoughts. Her eyes widened, and she scurried across the room to the kitchenette, opening a drawer and digging through it. When she found the lighter, she rushed over to the coffee table where a small candle waited to be lit. It was pumpkin pie scented, which didn’t match the nearing spring season, but it had been the best smelling candle in the clearance section at the store across from her apartment. There was another knock as Nova hurried back to the kitchenette to put away the lighter. She cursed.
“Just a minute!” she called out, heading to the door. She paused in front of the mirror, an unnecessary item in her home that Oscar insisted she needed. There was a small tea stain on the corner of her hoodie, and a rip in the knee of her leggings. The socks on her feet didn’t match. Well, it wasn’t like this was a date. It was a meeting. And her attire would have to do. With a small sigh, she went to the door and swung it open.
“Hey, sorry about that.” Nova smiled brightly up at Adrian. She could’ve sworn he did a once over of her outfit, and the small quirk of his lips only served as evidence. She swallowed and held the door open more. “Ready to get to work?”
“Yeah.” Adrian stepped inside, and she closed the door behind him, hand tightening around the knob as he looked around her apartment with interest.
“It may look small, but it’s more than enough.” Nova bit her lip. Even now, she frantically searched for a bra peeking out from under a piece of furniture. Adrian turned back around, offering a supportive smile, but it did nothing to soothe the hammering in Nova’s heart.
Because Nova had a small problem. Even though they had agreed to break up and be nothing more than allies after the Final Battle, for obvious reasons, Nova was still very much attracted to Adrian Everhart. And as of the past…year or so, very much in love with him.
“It’s nice.” Adrian looked around again. At his old TV, at the few picture frames on her nightstand, at her bed. “Very…minimalistic.”
They broke into an awkward silence, Adrian turning his head to see more of her home and Nova watching his face for any bad reactions. Finally, she let out a shaky breath and forced herself to let go of the doorknob,
“Please, sit.” Nova waved at her couch, only sitting down once Adrian was seated. She made sure they were a good two feet apart. She reached for her notepad, which she had pre-placed on the coffee table for today, and the pen that sat beside it. “So, self defense training lessons in schools? How exactly would that work out?”
Adrian shifted his knees toward her, and she could’ve sworn he inched closer. “Well, like I told you the other day, we could make a pitch to all the schools in Gatlon once we have a program set up. I’m thinking this could be more for middle school and high school kids, but we could also offer easier stuff for elementary schools. Make it more fun for the younger kids, you know? More of an introduction into self defense, and the basics.” He licked his lips, drawing Nova’s eyes to them. They flickered back to his immediately. She ignored how her cheeks heated up, instead choosing to jot down notes.
Nova tapped her pen against her notepad. “I work with kids every day, Adrian. The program is open to all ages. Offering time in multiple locations is hard. We only have so much staff, and being in many locations is hard on them, not to mention the cost for new equipment, renting spaces, paying our staff…you get the point.” She waved a hand and cleared her throat. “We’re still new, Adrian, and we’re very, very poor. And while I hate having to even charge for self defense in the first place, I would have to raise our prices to accommodate to your demands.”
“I mean more like a preview to the program itself.” Adrian shifted closer again. “I’m very aware of the financial side of things, Nova, trust me.” He smiled. Her heart skipped. “But, if we took, say, an hour out of a school day for an assembly once a year, make it a required event, invite parents to observe, etcetera etcetera, and have you, maybe, demonstrate some techniques, talk about the program, whatever, it could help the kids grow up to be more independent, and if parents are interested enough, it could help you as well by bringing in more customers. Not to mention,” he paused, breaking eye contact for a moment, before adding on it a much softer voice “it could help your reputation.”
Nova’s fingers tightened around her pen. She glanced down at her lap. “This has nothing to do with me, Adrian. What people think of me doesn’t bother me. I could care less what they say.” He opened his mouth to speak, but she didn’t let him. “And yes, I know what they say. I hear it every time I leave my apartment.”
“I just thought I would bring it up-”
“This is about the kids and the future of Gatlon,” Nova established sternly. “I’m simply here to help plan and execute it.”
They were both silent, neither meeting the other’s eyes. Nova did take notice that Adrian was less than a foot away from her now. That was partly her fault, allowing him to get closer instead of scooting away. The Final Battle for Gatlon was over two years ago, and while they had agreed to be allies for the sake of bettering Gatlon, and hopefully the world, Nova and Adrian had dared not stray into relationships of any kind that were not professional or friendly. Adrian had never truly forgiven her for what she had done, and she had never truly forgiven him for similar, yet different, reasons. At first, their relationship after the battle was rocky and awkward, then soon it developed into a professional one. Then, seeing as they were friends with the same people, they began to slowly become vulnerable around one another again, as hesitant friends. And more recently, Adrian had been showing signs that were not signs meant for Oscar or Danna or Ruby.
But that scared Nova. Their healing relationship was a good sign, yes, but it didn’t help with her very solid and very real feelings for him. And if those feelings were to even be expressed in something as miniscule as a look or accidental brush skin, their relationship could fall apart just as easily and twice as fast as it had reformed. A stitched wound was still an injury. It needed to be cared for and treated delicately so the stitches wouldn’t tear.
Adrian suddenly grabbed her hand that wasn’t gripping the pen, inching closer until there was very little space between them. Nova’s face grew hot, heart speeding up. She looked anywhere but at him.
“Is it so bad for someone to care about you? To want you to be safe?” he murmured, breath fanning her hair.
Nova gulped, lungs not quite functioning properly. “The only person who needs to care about me, is me.” She wanted to tear herself away from him, to rip her hand away from his, which was slowly interlacing their fingers. But she also felt her belly churning, telling her to just stay a moment longer.
He had the nerve to smile. “Then tell me why I do, too.” He leaned in closer, if that were possible, and when she didn’t object, he took the notepad and pen away from her, setting them on the coffee table. Just so he could take her other hand.
“Adrian,” she whispered, feeling dizzy and hot and a million things all at once, crashing into her.
“Nova,” he whispered back, a plea. Their eyes met, and then, by the force of gravity, their lips brushed. For that split second, Nova was on fire.
And then her senses flooded back, filling her body with horror and regret and a self hatred that had been kindling for so long.
She pulled her hands away from him, her dizziness turning to nausea. Her head fell forward, finding the crook in his neck, despite her brain telling her to get as far away from him as possible, that this was impossible, that he could never and would never be hers.
“We can’t do this,” she gasped, desperate for the air that he had taken from her.
Adrian was breathing as heavily as her. His hands found her shoulders. “Why not?”
Nova found the strength to push back, to give her enough space between them so she could collect herself. She could still feel his lips, just barely over hers, just barely kissing her before she had pulled away. “Because of you,” she said bitterly. “And because of me. Who we are, Adrian.”
“Is this about what we agreed on?” Adrian rolled his eyes, sighing exasperatedly. “Nova, that was two years ago. I thought I made it clear long ago that I had forgiven you. I thought you had forgiven me too, but apparently, I was wrong.”
“When did you forgive me,” Nova demanded. Her head was still spinning. She blinked, hoping it would help her.
“When you started showing that you really wanted to bring change.”
“That’s very vague.”
“Oh my-” Adrian groaned, rubbing his eyes underneath his glasses. “When you agreed to work with the Council on a new system.”
“That was, like, two months after the battle,” Nova deadpanned.
“Exactly.” Adrian nodded, tone matching hers.
Nova opened and closed her mouth, feeling like a fish. “Whatever…no, it has nothing to do with that.” Actually, it had a lot to do with that. Nova ran a frustrated hand through her hair. “Adrian, you and I both know that we could never be together.”
“Why is that?” Adrian leaned closer, but this time, Nova leaned away.
She laughed bitterly. “Oh, I don’t know, maybe it’s the fact that my uncle was Ace Anarchy. And not only that, but I am the only well known Anarchist to have walked away from that battle alive, so the destruction my uncle caused is immediately my fault. People aren’t exactly fond of me, Adrian.”
“I thought you didn’t care what other people thought of you.”
“I don’t.” Nova groaned, resisting the urge to go bang her head against the wall. “It’s you who would be affected by it.”
“I don’t care what they think,” Adrian said quickly. Nova gave him a look.
“Really? Tell me that again when, in two months, say we’re out in public together and the media writes about it, you start getting death threats in the mail over our relationship. Trust me,” she said dryly, “you’ll care then.”
“You’re being ridiculous.” Adrian moved closer again. Nova was out of room to move any further back; her back had hit the couch arm. His voice grew soft as he spoke, “Nova, I will never give a horse’s ass what anyone thinks of us. You have been all I can think about for three years, ever since I had to fix that damned bracelet of yours.”
Nova clenched her fists. There were tears at the back of her eyes. She blinked rapidly, hoping that they would go away. “Why? Why me, Adrian? I’m only going to end up hurting you again.”
He grabbed one of her fists and unravelled it, placing her palm over his chest. She could feel his racing heart beneath his shirt. “Then break my heart, Nova Artino. You have my permission. I am not fragile. I will only heal and come back to you, again and again.”
“Adrian, you don’t-”
“I’m in love with you, Nova.”
And then Nova, incapable of controlling her emotions, unable to think straight, because holy hell, Adrian Everhart said that he loved her, no, said that he was in love with her, pulled him to her. Their lips crashed together in sloppy delirium, but very soon, they found a rhythm. Nova shook as she wrapped her arms around his neck. His hands went to her hair, and he twisted them around so he could lay her down on the couch. All of her senses were in overload, spilling over the edge with nothing but Adrian, Adrian, Adrian in them. Far away, she heard herself say his name, and him responding with a soft moan. She thought back to their first kiss, a lifetime ago, and how this was so, so much better.
Only when Adrian kissed her tears away, before moving onto her neck, did Nova realize she had been crying.
-
Nova picked at a snag in Adrian’s long sleeved shirt, head resting in the crook of his arm. Their legs were tangled together. The sun had set not long ago, and they laid together in the dark apartment in silence, just holding one another and listening to the sound of each other’s breathing.
“I’m in love with you too, Adrian.”

mid-month check in
since starting my no buy month of October, I have slipped up a couple of times 😅but I have also been keeping track of my purchases/want list. so far this month, the purchases I have made I don’t regret, and most of which (besides misc. food) were on sale!
so far this month I have bought:
stamps from post office -- needed to send a letter/card to someone
1 large canister jar -- from Goodwill to store oatmeal/dry goods
candle from Target -- it just smelled really good 😩but the glass container is cute and I plan on reusing it as a candle holder
ohii lip smudge -- UO was having 30% off beauty sale and I also had a $5 off rewards discount
small hand broom -- for sweeping up kitty litter and dirt from when my plant pots get knocked over
lamp -- the kitties had been using our previous lamp as a scratching post (it was similar to the HOLMO lamp from Ikea). it was old and now had holes/stains in it, so we found a more sturdy one on OfferUp
duvet cover -- the one we previously had from Ikea had a ton of holes and rips in it, so I found one on clearance at Target
soil -- I noticed one of my plants unfortunately had a pest infestation (i think aphids ☹️) so I needed fresh soil to attempt to save it
cropped cardigan -- I currently only have 1 cardigan that’s knee length and doesn’t fit under most of my jackets. it’s getting pretty cold here in the midwest and thought i’d opt for something more cropped that I can layer with
---
so there ya have it folks! these are my purchases so far as of this month as of October 17th. I have also gotten rid of quite a few of clothes and was able to sell some furniture items online, so I guess it was kind of a trade out right? lol.
it’s still pretty difficult doing this no-buy challenge, and I think it will be a little more difficult since I recently just got a new job. many times this month I often thought, “if I had the money/was making the money I used to make, I would definitely buy this right now.” since I didn’t have that option, I would put my phone/laptop away and think about the item I was wanting to purchase and write it down in my notebook. “what do i need this for? do i really need it, or do I have something similar in my closet/around the house that can suffice?”
the ‘want’ list I have in my notebook currently consists of 29 items, and so far I have bought 11 (including necessary things like stamps, soil, snacks/eating out). making this list definitely has opened my eyes as to how much I otherwise would have impulsively spent money on if I didn’t set time away to think about it first. even things towards the top of my list that I added at the beginning of the month I either later on forgot about, or realized I didn’t want or need it anymore!

How to Buy Fashion Clothing Online
Here are some tips to help you sell designer clothes online. One of the best ways to sell your designer clothes is to offer customer service. Customer service is a valuable asset. If you are new to customer service, it is worth learning from professionals in the fashion industry. You can also sell designer clothes by offering a live chat function on your website. A live chat widget will increase your chances of converting leads into sales.
A great way to save money is to buy off-season. Many stores will cut their prices by upto 90% to free up space for new merchandise. If you are looking for off-season clothing, they can be worn next spring in good condition. Remember to read the store's return policy, as many will not accept returns on clearance items. If you regret purchasing an item, you may return it if it's too large.
You might have to spend a lot on designer clothes. Even if you don't have the budget for designer clothes, you can update your wardrobe with fashionable, new clothes. Designer brands have better quality and last longer than the cheaper brands. They also reflect your style and personal status. Do not wait to make the right fashion statements. You will be happy you did. Be sure to purchase a high-quality item and have fun shopping.
A great way to save money when buying designer clothes is to go for online shopping for fashion. High-end designer brands are offered at dramatically reduced prices on closeout websites. You can also take advantage of sale prices by purchasing a pre-owned item at a discount. You can get the same designer look, but at a much lower price. Once you find a discount store that offers designer goods, you can begin searching for the best deals.
After you have chosen the style or designer you want to sell, it is important that you research all the brands and types of clothing on the market. A competitor analysis will help you understand the type of customer you're catering to and the prices at which you need to sell them. Now you can start selling designer clothes online. Get started now! It will be a great decision. Remember that it may take time for your site's success.
Flash sales sites are another way to get designer pieces at low prices. These websites buy and sell barely worn, pre-owned items from brands. These websites verify that the items are authentic and take care of shipping. In terms of buying cheap designer clothes, it's more important to know when to buy rather than where to buy. Because prices are lower, the off-season is a great place to buy designer clothes. This will enable you to return your investment.
Some people are more concerned about quality clothing than others and are willing pay more. Some people trust the brand while others prefer the brand's standing. Others value eco- and worker-friendly methods. Some simply are devoted to high fashion and don't care if they have to buy expensive items for their wardrobe. You need to be aware of the cost and carefully choose your style. While there are many benefits to shopping online for designer clothes, you might want to consider other factors as well before you make a purchase.
If you don't have the budget for designer clothes, it is worth looking into high-end brands that sell affordable pieces. Target has partnered to many top designers to create capsule lines that offer designer clothes at a fraction if their original cost. While you won’t find the same high quality pieces in stores as online, you can be assured of the same quality. If you are looking for a stylish T-shirt, a pair or jeans that costs less than $50 is a good option. These items come in a variety of prices, but the price is well worth it if your goal is to appear like a celebrity.
Neiman Marcus is another great place to buy designer clothes. The famous department store opened in 1838 in Sydney and has been in business for over 175 years. The range includes baby and maternity clothing, as well care and hygiene items, nursery furniture and strollers. You will find a variety of designer clothing suitable for children aged 2-12 years old. There are many brands to choose and quick delivery in over 160 countries.

Players will travel through Ursus,Sargon,Iberia, Karlan Trade CO., LTD, and have deeper insights into these places’ background stories. 2 new faces, Carnelian and Bena will also show up in the plots, offering players a chance to learn their unique personalities.
During the limited-time event “Preluding Lights”, players can obtain Clearance Permits from clearing all stages except for Annihilation and Extreme Mode to redeem rewards, including Bena, Bena’s token, furniture piece: Antique Display Cabinet, LMD, Battle Record, Elite materials, etc. Players can also exchange for Information Fragments that can be used to unlock stories in this and any previous story collections.
New Operators
In addition to the various rewards for players to claim, 4 new Operators are joining the game.
Carnelian, a 6-star Caster, is Beeswax’s sister coming from Sargon. Carnelian’s talents allow her to restore her HP and get the effect doubles when charged. With Carnelian’s skill activated, her Attack Range will increase and her Attack will also be strengthened. When charged, the same target receives increased damage from Carnelia.
Kirara, a 5-star Specialist, owns a talent that restores her HP continually, and the effect increases if there are no other allied units around. Kirara’s first skill enables her next attack to deal additional Arts damage, while the second skill increases the effect of her talent, and deals Arts damage to all enemies within her Attack Range.
Bena, the other 5-star Specialist, is the bonus operator that can be obtained for free. Bena possesses a unique trait that can leave a Substitute after being defeated and swap back to the original after a while. Her talent enables the Substitute to deal Arts damage and reduces the damage taken by the Substitute.
Indigo, a 4-star Caster, can store up her attacks when unable to find a target and fire all at once. Thanks to her talent, Indigo’s attack can bind a target. Her first skill, when activated, changes Indigo’s Attack Range and reduces her Attack Interval greatly, with some loss of the damage each attack deals.
New Arrivals at Store
The event will also introduce a crossover with I.T, granting operators trending outfits in the game. “Cómodo” for Thorns, “Liberté//Échec” for Surtr and “Ursus IO79” for Zima will be available at the store for the time being. A newly added furniture set, “Lena’s Rest”, will be on sale as well. Be sure to check it out!

1x7: Frederick Barnes
Keen2 starts and ends the same in this episode, remodelling.
At the start -
Tom: What is this?
At the end -
Liz: What is this?
Tom: What is this? Liz: Café au lait - unless you like the dark nut better. But don’t decide yet. Tom: I’m sorry. Let’s start over. Why is our dining room no longer dine-able? Liz: We’re remodeling. Tom: Clearly, and we’re doing it at 7:00 a.m. Liz: Well, the guy at the hardware store said to hang the samples in the morning so that you can see what they look like throughout the day. What do you think? Tom: I like this one. Liz: Grandma’s Pumpkins? Tom: Grandma’s what? Liz: I know it’s ridiculous. Oh, I’m just so sick of this room. Tom: Why? I like this room. Liz: It’s not the room. It’s just that someone invaded our lives, our house. They put that stupid box in the floor. Tom: It doesn’t matter anymore.
Tom’s ”It doesn’t matter anymore” reminds me of Red’s dialogue to Baldur.
Red: You said something before: ‘The truth doesn’t matter.’ That the only thing in this world that matters, is just the appearance of truth. I fear you might be right about that. Liz: They made me believe you were a monster. I doubted you. I doubted us.
According to Liz, the person inside that passport box is “a monster.”
Tom: Yeah, we’re past it. We’re gonna be fine. And I don’t think that we need to destroy the dining room. I think that we just need - Liz: - to move? Tom: I was gonna say we need time, but uh, it’s good to know where your head’s at.
Tom likes the idea of them moving because it means they’ll be further away from Red. Funny, this “needing time.” Because Liz doesn’t like taking time to do anything. That’s what Red spoke of when Liz learned the truth about Tom.
Our Red is different than Tom. He has no problem admitting what he is.
Red: I might do the same in your position. It’s easier to blame me for framing your husband than face the truth of what he is. Liz: Tom teaches 4th grade. He’s overworked and underpaid and still wakes up every morning with a smile on his face. You know why? Because he knows nothing of the terrible world you and I live in. End of story. Red: Oh, that’s not the end of the story. I’m confident you’ll come to see that.
“What he is.”
Liz: Betraying your country and auctioning off its secrets. Where have I heard that before? Red: You want to compare him to me? Be my guest. I’m perfectly comfortable with what I am.
“What I am.”
Rederina would speak mighty strong against Keen2, all-considering. A spy speaking out against another spy .... most definitely. Our Red spoke of Katarina having given up everything she’d ever known to follow Red and Liz to be a family. Huge difference from Tom Keen - a man with a family but couldn’t give up his fake and dangerous shit for the sake of the safety of that family. Our Red differentiates himself from Tom Keen - and Frederick Barnes.
“But please, make no mistake - Frederick Barnes is a very special animal.”
Red hasn’t a problem admitting he’s a monster, shown in The Stewmaker. Tom does. He can’t allow Liz to see him for what he is because he’s targeting Red - and his marriage to her is a lie anyway.
Liz: What is this? Tom: We’re remodeling. Liz: Clearly. Tom: Long day? Liz: You have no idea. Tom: It’s killing you, isn’t it? Liz: Did you really get rid of all our stuff? Tom: Do you seriously not remember? Liz: What? Tom: Wow, okay. It was Friday night. We’d just driven in from Rochester and picked up the keys to this place, but our furniture wasn’t coming until Sunday. So, we drove to the store, and we got Ike. Liz: Oh yeah, the lamp. Tom: Remember, that “a” was scratched off the finish? Poor guy was in the clearance bin. Liz: And on the way back, we stopped at that little Chinese place and got takeout. That was our first night in this place. Tom: Yeah. That’s all we had. It’s all we ever needed. Liz: Just you, me, and Ike.
I find it strange how Liz doesn’t remember these “memorable” moments with Tom. Their trip to Boston when he killed Victor Fokin. The day Tom claims was the best day ever. Their first night in that apartment, which - according to dialogue, they’ve only lived there a year. So within a year, Liz totally forgot this memorable night they spent without furniture.
