After the Storm |1|
Tara Carpenter x Spider-Women!Reader
Chapter One: Mutant Lizards & Kisses
(idk how many chapters I'll do for this series but I'm just winging it for now)
Summary: After your fight with The Lizard, you climb back with quite a few injuries. Luckily, Tara's there to tend to them
Warning(s): Swearing, Police!Sam 🤭, mentions of fighting & injuries
Notes: Based off of this scene in TASM (gotta be one of my favorite scenes). Wrote this while taking a break from writing chp 6 of LTLI. Motivation for this kinda just came to me and I've always wanted to do a spider!reader thing
Masterlist|Next Part
You limped, nearly collapsing on the roof as you held your side.Your trap for Dr. Connors did not work out how you planned, and your recklessness to get more photos than you needed ended you up with none.
You painfully crawled down, making your way to the fire escape outside the window you recognized. You knocked on it three times with your head, ignoring your pounding headache. You kept your head resting on the window as you heard clicking from the other side. Tara looked over to you and smiled before saying, “Come in,” then turning back to the assignment she was working on.
You push the window up, sliding through the opening as you exhale tiredly.
“You should maybe, uh, consider coming in through the main entrance,” Tara jokes and you huff a laugh.
You struggle to lift yourself until finally hopping into her room
“Also, my sister is under the impression that you require psychiatric attention….” Tara finally turns to you when she hears you grunt and her eyes slightly widen.
“Y/N.” She stood up from her chair and rushed over to you. You’re now leaning against the wall, when Tara comes up to you.
“What the hell happened?” She asked quickly.
“You should see the other guy,” you say in a husky voice; you can still see Tara fretting over your injuries.
She carefully walks you to her bed, gently laying you down, not wanting to cause you any further pain. You tilt your head back as you continue to speak through deep breaths, “the other guy, in this instance being a giant mutant lizard.”
“You’re all bruised up–”
“Tara, I’m fi–”
“You’re not fine,” Tara interrupted in a sharp tone.
“Tara–”
You both stopped your movement when you heard Sam’s voice from the other side of the door.
“Hey, Tara, I have to run to the station. Do you want me to pick up some ice cream from that place you like, on the way back?” You and Tara shared a look before she got up and you rolled to the floor.
Tara opened the door just a few inches to greet her older sister. “No, Sam. I do not want ice cream. I can’t afford any distractions right now. I have a bunch of exams to prepare for,” Tara said, trying to fake an aggravated tone.
“Okay, I just remember somebody saying last week that her fantasy was to live in an ice cream house,” Sam reminded Tara.
“Well that's impractical,” she said, shutting the door. “And fattening,” she added after opening the door, now shutting it again.
She turned around to see you peeking from behind the bed, giving her a dopey smile. “An ice cream house?” You questioned, still wearing the same expression.
Tara rolled her eyes, nodding, still not saying a word before turning back around to open the door once again.
“Sorry…” Tara apologized to Sam.
“It’s really good ice cream.”
“It’s just I can’t, um, I'm doing this um—paper and I’m really focused on it. Didn’t mean to snap at you.”
“It’s okay, I get it. How about I bring you a some for later?”
“Okay, sounds good. Thanks Sammy,” Tara said with a smile before shutting the door one more time.
As soon as she walked back in the room, she gave you no room to talk. Already giving you directions to follow as she got her medkit from her nightstand’s bottom drawer.
“Roll down your suit.”
You sigh but comply. “I’m fine, just a little banged up. I almost got him though—Dr. Connors. I can feel it, Tar. I’m gonna get him next time.”
“I swear, Y/N, if you get yourself killed I will make sure you regret it,” the younger Carpenter threatened.
“Why? Gonna miss me?” You teased, looking at the other girl as her attention was on the rubbing alcohol she was preparing.
“In your dreams, Y/L/N,” Tara replied, but you saw the tiny smile she gave you before looking back at what she was doing.
“Ah…” You softly groaned, feeling the sting as the rubbing alcohol made contact with your open wound.
Tara gave you an apologetic look, “It’ll be done soon.”
“And when that's done?”
“What do you mean?” Tara asked with a slightly raised eyebrow.
“After this, how about we do something?”
She lightly shook her head with a smile before replying. “And Sam comes home to an empty apartment? Yeah, no.”
“I’ll get you home in time before Sam is,” you reassure her.
“You’re forgetting Sam’s a police captain,” Tara’s body betrays her as she melts into your touch, feeling your hand gently sneak up her arm.
“Unless she can track my web-shooters, I think we’re good.”
“I don’t know…” she looks down, averting her attention to one of your other cuts she’s tending too.
You left hand lifts her head, her chin resting on your knuckles.
“Come on…”
Your foreheads meet and the towel in her hand is long forgotten. You brush your thumb against her bottom lip, you both slightly lean in until your lips are only centimeters apart.
“Easy bug girl…” You heard her whisper.
“What’d you just call me?” You asked as you both lightly laugh, faces never pulling from each other.
“Let's get out of here,” you said as you comedically shook your head around, causing Tara to giggle. “Just for a minute, come on.”
Your noses rubbed together as Tara leaned into you.
“No..”
“Yeah..”
“Noo..”
“Yes.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“Noooo…” She hated how much she wanted to say yes to you.
“Yesss,” your smile never falters through this yes and no battle. You looked at how Tara looked away for a moment before looking back at you with a smile she was visibly fighting and in that moment you knew you won.
“...I better be home before Sam is.”
—
When you land back on Tara’s fire escape, she’s clinging onto you for dear life while her face's buried in your chest. You smile down at her as you tell her, “We’re back by the way,” resisting the urge to place a kiss on her head.
“Yeah—yeah I knew that,” she replied, slowly pulling away from you.
You can’t help but chuckle at her shooken state. “Oh, you think this is funny? We were so high up—a drop that high is deadly, Y/N.”
“You think I’d drop ya?”
“No, cause’ then Sam would bury you alive.”
“Speaking of Sam,” you’re both fully in the room now as you look at her bedroom door and then back at Tara, “Looks like she’s not here…”
“Y/N…”
“Tara…”
“I already let you swing me around while a billion feet in the air; you’re still needy for my attention?” She teased, slightly tilting her head.
“What, you don’t wanna hang out with me?” You teased back.
You’re now directly in front of her, Tara’s legs hit the back of the bed and you can feel her breath on yours. Your hands end up on her hips and her left hand lightly cups your jaw.
In a husky voice you begin, “Tara, you have no idea–"
Suddenly the front door can be heard opening, the various locks twisting and turning. You and Tara looked at each other before Tara shoved you under the bed. Footsteps came closer and closer until Sam opened the door to find her sister sitting at her desk, headphones in, and pen in hand.
Tara turned to look at the door, pulling out her headphones when she made eye contact with Sam. “Oh, hey Sam. I was just finishing up this paper,” Tara said innocently, giving the paper a single tap with her pen.
Sam slightly nodded, looking around—Tara noticed this. “Did you need something?” Tara asked the older Carpenter.
“Uh, no—no, I just thought I heard something. Anyways,” Sam slightly shook her head, “got you that ice cream. It’s in the freezer when you want it.”
“Thanks, Sam. Love you,” Tara responded. “Love you too,” Sam said back with a smile before leaving the room but not without taking one more scan of the room.
You waited another minute before crawling out from under her bed.
“That was a close one, bug girl.”
“Is that gonna be a permanent nickname?”
“You bet it is, bug girl."
You playfully rolled your eyes, a smile grazing your face when you see her dimples show. "You're lucky you're cute," you tell her.
"Oh? Would you rather me call you my savior?" Tara jokingly batted her eyelashes at you.
You bit lip in thought. "It's got a ring to it..."
"Yeah, no. 'Think I'm sticking with bug girl for now."
"Worth a shot," you shrugged before walking over to her,"Now...where were we?"
"You were leaving–"
"Mmm, no. That' not what I recall."
Before Tara could respond, you began placing kisses that travled to her jaw then neck, making her knees grow weak as you slowly lead her to the bed until her back softly hit the mattress.
You hovered above her while she gratefully accepted your touch, holding onto your biceps while you continued to kiss her.
"Y/N, my sister's right outside. And if you've forgotten; she has a warrant out for your 'wall crawling vigilante ass'—her words, not mine," Tara said, breath hitching as you continued to kiss her neck.
You stopped mid kiss, looking around the room then slightly frowned, furrowing your eyebrows as you looked back at her. "Is she here in the room with us...? Cause I don't see her."
"Y/N..."
"Tara..."
Tara let out a light sigh, raising one of her hands to cup your jaw. "Five. Minutes." She told you, holding your jaw with a gentle yet firm grip.
"Yes ma'am."

“MY MASKED HERO !”
— Chad Meeks-Martin
PAIRING: 🕷️🕸️ Spider-Man!Chad Meeks-Martin x Fem!Reader
TW: mentions of guns
SUMMARY : your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man saves you from getting robbed
TAGS: @theyluvvstu
you were walking home from a party at night time, you went to the party with your friends Tara and Mindy, but since Mindy and Tara were going over to tara’s dorm for a sleepover you were walking alone
They had asked you if you wanted to come but you declined since you just wanted to go home and rest. Although you were kinda regretting your choice and you kinda just wanted to turn back and walk to Tara’s house since it was closer than your house.
you realized that there was an alley way that was a short cut that could lead you to your house faster, it looked a bit sketchy though and you were kinda hesitant with going into.
you honestly were over the night and decided that if you were to die in this alley way you would honestly just accept it. your night couldn’t get worse right?
it did get worse.
while speed walking through the alley way you were scared something was gonna pop out and suddenly you heard something moving “shit…” you thought to yourself as you started speeding up as much as you could.
you were a bit tipsy from drinking so much so you couldn’t go as fast as you wanted to. All of a sudden a man pops out of one the corners to stop you. A bit confused you tried to get past him but he wouldn’t let you “what the fuck are you doing dude? Move I’m trying to get home” you said while slurring your words a bit
“give me your purse” the anonymous man said with a demanding tone. “What the fuck?? Why would I do that” laughing a little bit confused at his request. you suddenly look down to see that he’s holding a gun in his hand your eyes widen and your smile faded quickly realizing that he could shoot you at any moment.
“are you trying to rob me?” still confused about this whole encounter. “What does it look like??” He says with an irritated tone “look lady, I’m getting impatient just give me the fucking purse.” while gripping harder onto the gun. “I’m not giving you shit..” you say while tryna walk by him still in disbelief this is happening.
he grabs you and pushes you back “lady just give me the purse or else I’m gonna shoot” while pointing the gun to you. Your heart drops realizing that this is probably gonna be your last moments living before you get killed. Even if you give him the purse he’s most likely gonna shoot you anyways. That’s what usually happens in robberies.
all of a sudden you see a web hook onto his gun and pull it up. It shocks you and him when you both look up to see a masked hero. “Hey dude, how about you leave her alone?” He says while jumping down into the alleyway. “how about you mind your business kid.” the masked hero comes closer to us “well, if you don’t leave her alone I’ll have no choice but to report you to the police. I suggest you stop trying to rob people and get an actual job”
this makes the man a bit more nervous and he ends up running off. you’re just standing there witnessing the whole thing. “tough one huh?” He says trying to start a conversation “yeah I guess, I needed my purse it has my keys in it I’m just trying to get home” you say starting to get exhausted from this whole encounter. you could’ve been home but that dumbass attempted to rob you.
“I’m Spider-Man” holding out his hand for you to shake it you chuckle a bit and shake his hand “yeah I know, thank god you were there to help me who knows what could’ve happened.” you say with a relief tone.
“so… what’s a pretty girl like you doing out here all alone at this time of night?” you could imagine the smirk behind his mask. “well..I’m just trying to get home from a party” you look away and smile from his comment.
“well do you need any assistance?, we don’t need another accident like that happening again..plus you sound like you’re a little tipsy” laughing at his own comment.
“just a little” rolling your eyes and chucking again “but sure” you say with a smile on your face. after that Spider-Man walked you to your house and you had no more problems for the night.
when you get to your door you say your goodbyes, “Bye spider boy, let’s hope we meet again” you say winking at him before closing your door. “I like that nickname.” He thinks to himself flustered at what you said.

liar
pairing: tara carpenter x female reader
warnings:
“YOU’VE LIED TO ME OUR WHOLE RELATIONSHIP.”
Tara’s small demeanour is slightly intimidating as she paces across our shared bedroom, her hands tearing at her hair.
“Baby please let me explain.” While her voice is loud mine remains soft and calm trying to keep the peace.
“Don’t.” She only stops pacing to extend her hand in my face. “Don’t even speak right now. I can’t believe you.” She groans once again resuming her stalking back and forth.
I open my mouth to present my own opinion when footsteps echo outside the door.
“What’s all this arguing?” Sams home, of course she’s home now. She doesn’t even knock as she barges in the bedroom threatening glares already set on me. Raising my hands I back away from the older Carpenter.
“No not arguing, not arguing. Tara’s just in shock. Isn’t that right?” I give Tara a look begging her not to let her sister go ape shit on me but she doesn’t even glance my way.
“Y/N has lied to me our whole relationship. Six months. All lies.” Tara’s fingers drag down her face as she rats me out to her sister, the sister who instantly stands taller and sends a menacing glance my way.
“Lied about what?” Sam speaks softly to her distraught sister one hand tucking Tara’s flyaways behind her ear.
“She has a tattoo. A tattoo for crying out loud and she didn’t even tell me.” Tara whines frowning at the floor.
Sams face falls, her hand dropping to her side. “Seriously? Your upset because your girlfriend has a tattoo?” Sam sighs. Tara nods with a childish pout.
“I’m just gonna leave you guys to it.” Sam smiles apologetically at me before closing the bedroom door once again leaving the two of us alone.
“Baby, your overreacting. Even Sam agrees. It’s not a big deal.” I breathe standing up from the bed to interrupt her pacing. Tara glares up at me, her lips forming a thin line.
“Do not tell me I’m overreacting. You lied. You liar.” Tara pouts gently smacking my chest with closed fists. Stifling a chuckle I grab her wrists softly and lean down to kiss her knuckles smiling at the blush spreading along her cheeks.
“Would you feel better if I showed you the tattoo again?” I ask. Tara whines throwing her head against my chest. “Yes.” She mumbles under her breath.
Taking off my shirt and my bra, I lay back on the bed turning onto my stomach and exposing the tattoo of a black spider situated on my shoulder blade. My skin twitches slightly as Tara’s fingers move over the bare skin, tracing the edges of the spider legs.
“I can’t believe I’ve never noticed this before.” She sighs her palm pressed flat over my spine. “I hate that I never noticed before.” Her voice is merely a whisper as small fingers dance over my tattoo again.
“Baby it’s ok. It’s not like your ever really looking at my naked back, it’s my front your more preoccupied with.” And with that I manage to turn over now laying on my back and gazing up at the woman with such adoration her cheeks glow red.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” She asks with a frown still however moving to lay her chin on my chest, her lips resting against my collarbone.
“You never asked.” I shrug causing Tara to scoff. “If you get another one. Tell me.” She grins before pressing her lips hard against my neck. “Or else I’ll be forced into doing something that you will not enjoy.” She purs.
I whine softly as her hands move down my bare stomach, playing with the band of my pants occasionally dipping slightly further down.
“So have you guys worked it out?” Once again Sam doesn’t knock, instead opening the door wide.
“Get the fuck out.” Tara screams at her sister who stands slack jawed at the door. Sam says nothing as she closes the door muttering to herself softly.
“Fucking cockblock.” Tara groans laying her head in the crook of my neck. I chuckle pressing a kiss to the side of her head. Silence encompasses us for a few seconds before Tara shuffles around slightly.
“Can I start taking you from behind now?”

my love, my life
pairing: jenna ortega x autistic!fem!reader
summary: Jenna was the rock you never knew you needed in your life
link to request
words: 4.007k (im sorry)
warnings: verbally abusive parents, ableism, ableist remarks, r parents are dicks, r has a meltdown, swearing, bad writing
authors note: if i got anything wrong please correct me in a respectful and kind way please, other than that i hope you enjoy this:)
You were the one who begged your parents to allow you to start acting at such a young age, being utterly fixated on the world of acting after seeing Spider-Man for the first time.
In the beginning your parents didn't like the idea of you becoming a child actor, especially after what they heard from a myriad of news sources of how troubled child actors became when they reached their teens.
But after a lot of pleading they reluctantly allowed you to audition for anything that came up.
You were the young age of six when you got your first real role, it was for a random soup company commercial, it was nothing major but it was something.
Acting brought you a large sense of comfort, already knowing what was going to happen as you memorised your lines in a blink of an eye.
You always had a struggle with portraying emotions but eventually you got the hang of it and became much better.
At eight years old you got your first big break; the role of a little sister's killer. The role of Jill Roberts' little sister in Scream Four.
You blew up.
At first you weren't a fan of all the attention and even got quite upset over it, the large change of attention by strangers on the street scaring you.
Your parents on the other hand were absolutely thrilled and began auditioning you for many other movies and tv shows.
You weren't properly diagnosed with autism till the age of fourteen; long after you had become a child actor. You were shocked but found comfort in that information, it was as if you finally found out the answer to longing question.
Your parents on the other hand did not believe the doctors when they diagnosed you with autism, refusing to believe the fact and that you were just simply dramatic.
As your fame grew, your stress and anxiety only did too. It got to the point where you could barely get through an interview before going completely non-verbal for a few days.
Your parents called you dramatic since you could act in front of cameras but couldn't answer simple questions in front of a few people with flashing cameras.
You defended yourself that it wasn't the same, it never was. You didn't know what was going to happen in those interviews, while you knew everything when acting.
As the years passed you became even quieter and couldn't attend almost any interview or premier. You stopped auditioning for movies and shows when you were sixteen, deciding to take a two year break of acting.
Your parents were enraged by that fact and barely interacted with you, leaving you alone in one small house as they bought another large one for themselves with your money.
You didn't care, as long as you were alone you were happy.
A few days after your eighteenth birthday you received a call, asking if you were willing to come back to play an old role.
Maxine "Max" Roberts, the younger sister of Jill Roberts.
In the beginning you were reluctant but after a few days of thinking you accepted the role.
Without a doubt, that was the best decision of your entire life, career wise aside.
In the set of Scream Five you reconnected with old friends such as Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and even David Arquette officially as grown adult and no longer a child.
You also managed to make long life friends such as Mikey Madison, Mason Gooding, Dylan Minnette, Jack Quaid and you even meet your favourite youtuber James A. Janisse who made a small cameo in the movie.
But the person you met on the Scream Five set that changed your life was the actress who played Tara Carpenter; the first Scream character to survive an opening kill.
Jenna Ortega.
You and Jenna instantly connected, a feeling you had never felt in your entire lifetime. Jenna understood you better than your own parents, even treating you better than them.
Before Scream Five was even wrapped you and Jenna began dating; both of you absolutely head over heels for each other.
Jenna helped you tremendously throughout the process after Scream Five was released, helping you in interviews if you got nervous and felt your throat tightening up. Helping you in any premier by always holding your hand if you wanted to squeeze hers if you got too angsty.
She did so much more than your parents ever did. It wasn't a wonder why you hadn't had a proper conversation with them since you were sixteen.
You were fine with that fact; you didn't need them anymore. You had Jenna.
—————
"So, I was thinking of some mac 'n cheese for dinner?" Jenna suggested once the credits of 'The Amazing Spider-Man' began playing throughout yours and Jenna's small living room.
You grinned happily at her as you tapped your finger along with the music that played with the credits. "Well if you're offering of course."
Jenna scrunched her nose adorably as she smiled at you, leaning closer to give you a quick peck on the forehead as she stood up. "I'm presuming you watch the end credit scene?" She asked you as she leaned against the doorway of the kitchen.
You nodded your head as your eyes remained fixated on the screen. "You presume correctly, my love."
"As always, my life." Jenna replied, finishing off your nickname with a small laugh as she entered the kitchen.
It was a silly joke that started when Jenna found out your all time favourite band was Abba. She had made it her life goal to memorise each of your favourite songs; one of those songs being 'My love, My life'.
You smiled to yourself as you unconsciously played with the bottom of the graphic Spiderman shirt Jenna gave you for your birthday months ago. The material of the shirt was your favourite and didn't irritate you like many other fabrics did.
After a few minutes passed the end credit scene began playing as the smell of mac 'n cheese started to infiltrate your nose, your smile softened.
Mumbling the lines along with the characters you were interrupted when three knocks were at the door.
You ignored the fact it was an awkward number as you headed towards the door, confused as to who it could be.
Maybe it was one of Jenna's siblings you guessed, but as you unlocked the door your jaw dropped as you saw who was standing behind the door with crooked smiles.
"Mother? Father?" You asked bewildered as you stared at them with wide eyes, you hadn't seen them in years.
Your mother smiled sweetly, the corners of her eyes crinkling as she took a step closer to you with open arms, to which you took a step back at.
"Y/n, honey, it's been so long." Your mother cooed as she lowered her arms, a small look of hurt in her eyes at your rejection at touch.
"Four years. It's been four years." You confirm with a deadpan look as you looked at them, they still looked pretty much the same since you last saw them. "Why're you two here?" You asked them rather bluntly, your eyes narrowing questioningly on your father who didn't have the sweet smile your mother had on her face.
"Is it so wrong for parents to come visit their only daughter? We've missed you so much after all these years." She said as she wrapped an arm around your fathers bicep, leaning into him. Your fathers jaw clenched momentarily as he nodded his head stiffly. "We've missed you so much, rabbit." Your father mumbled out in a gruff tone of voice.
A smile grazed your lips at the nickname your father used to call you when growing up, there was no backstory to it, it was a simple name he had called you for years.
At the nostalgic name you couldn't help to lower your guard as you gave them a genuine smile, to which your parents actually smiled back at you.
"Y/n?" Jenna's voice broke you off your trance as you snapped your head to the side, Jenna rounding the corner with her hair now in a messy bun.
Before you could get a word out you heard your mother gasp as she freed your father from her grip, a look of admiration in her eyes as she looked at your girlfriend.
"And you're our Y/n's girlfriend, we've heard so much about you. It's nice to finally meet you." She interrupted, extending her hand out to shake Jenna's.
Jenna glanced at you with a questioning look, you shrugged your shoulders weakly at her look. She sighed as her movie star smile appeared on her face, turning back to face your mother.
"Likewise." She says as she connects her hand with your mothers.
As your mother chatted Jenna's ears off you turned your attention back to your father who was still standing awkwardly in the doorway.
Your father must've felt eyes on him as he slowly flickered his eyes away from your mothers figure to your eyes, his eyes still as cold as you remembered.
He coughed dryly as he took a singular step towards you, a tight lipped smile on her face as he looked down at you.
"It's nice to see you again, peanut." He whispered to you, your heart melted at his words. Has your father actually changed? It sure sounded like it.
"It's nice to see you too, father." You replied back with a whisper, a small smile toyed on your lips. He grinned as he nodded curtly at you before he focused back on your mother.
"Is it alright if we stayed for dinner? It's just we haven't seen our Y/n in such a long time." You heard your mother plead to Jenna, her voice bordering into desperation.
Jenna's beautiful brown eyes flickered over to you, silently asking you if you were okay with you, you nodded your head.
She let out a small breath as she nodded her own head, returning to meet your mothers eyes.
"Of course, I hope you don't mind mac 'n cheese." Jenna joked as she took a few steps back, your mother following hot on her trail.
You and your father follow them as you close the front door. Your father turned to look at you as he walked over to the dining table. "You're still obsessed with that?" He asked with what sounded like curiosity to you, meanwhile Jenna's head had snapped back to where you and your father stood at his tone of words which did not sound like it was full of curiosity.
You nodded your head oblivious as you pulled out a chair for him. "Yes I do, it's been my comfort meal for years. I'm surprised you even remembered that."
He scoffed as he glanced back at you, sitting down in the seat. "I wish I didn't." He grumbled under his breath, thankfully you didn't hear his words as you headed over to the kitchen where your mother and Jenna were at.
Jenna was slowly stirring the pot full of mac 'n cheese as your mother chatted her ear off, a look of fake interest on Jenna's face.
"Do you need help with anything, Jen?" You asked her, interrupting your mother as you moved to stand next to her. She smiled softly at you as she nodded her head. "Could you get the cutlery and bowls out for me please?" You nodded your head as you immediately went to do what she asked for.
Thankfully, your mother left the kitchen as she went to sit down next to your father, whispering to him as their eyes glanced over the apartment.
You grabbed four bowls off of the top shelf with ease as you heard Jenna's hushed voice.
"Hey," She began, you turned to look at her as you neatly placed the bowls on the counter. "you sure you're okay with them being here?" She finished off in a whisper as she gazed into your eyes.
You nodded your head as you glanced back at your parents whispering to each other, smiling before you turned to look back at your girlfriend.
"I'm okay with them being here, really unexpected which annoys me but I haven't seen them in so long." Your tone became even more hushed as you leaned closer to Jenna. "Dad even remembered my nickname and the food I like, that must mean something, right?"
Jenna sighed as she nodded her head weakly, smiling as weakly as she placed a comforting hand on top of yours. "Okay, if you want them here then they can stay. But the moment you feel like you don't want them here just tell me okay?"
You nod your head understanding. "Okay, I will, thank you." Jenna gave your hand a reassuring squeeze before she turned back to her pot of mac 'n cheese.
After a few minutes passed you, Jenna and your parents were seated at your dining table as you all ate your food.
You were sitting in your favourite seat as Jenna sat next to you, your father across from you as your mother sat across from Jenna.
You were eagerly eating your food with a smile on your face, a sense of warmth and comfort hitting you as you ate your food.
"This is really good, Jen, thank you." Jenna's smile managed to make you feel even more at peace.
"So, Y/n, you got any new movies or shows coming up?" Your mother asked you with intrigue as she slowly ate her food.
You shook your head as you took another spoonful. "No but I was in the latest Spider-Man movie. It was so cool! I thought I would never be given a chance to be in a Spider-Man movie but I was offered a small role. I even got to design my own Spider-Man character and how she was and -oh my god I even-"
"Lower your voice, Y/n." Your father snapped as he played with his food. "We're not in another room, we're right next to you."
You frowned as you stopped talking immediately, looking down at your half empty bowl embarrassed. "Sorry, father." You said in a voice that you made sure it was quieter than before.
"And what, baby?" Jenna asked with an encouraging smile on her face, her eyes focused on you and only you.
You picked up your head as you smiled sheepishly at her. "And I got to meet Daniel Kaluuya who's one of my favourite actors."
Your father sighed dramatically as he shook his head as he pushed his food around the bowl, he hadn't taken a singular bite of the food.
"How much longer do we have to stay here?" He whispered to your mother in a tone what he thought was low enough, but you and Jenna heard him clearly.
Your eyebrows furrowed together as you loosened your grip on your spoon. "Oh, do you have somewhere else to be?" You asked him sincerely.
He scoffed as he shook his head in disbelief. "Your attitude is still as horrible as I see."
What?
"I don't understand. I was asking you a question. How was that giving you attitude?" You asked him again, straightening your posture as you desperately searched for Jenna's hand from under the table.
She quickly interlocked your fingers together, her thumb expertly rubbing softly at your skin in an attempt to soothe you.
Your father dismissed you as he turned to look at his wife, a look of annoyance clear on his face. "Ask her. I'm not staying here much longer with that here." He demanded in a hushed whisper.
A deep frown slowly appeared on your face as you stared between your parents, an uneasy feeling started to grow in your stomach.
"What's he talking about, mother?" She sighed at your words, dropping her spoon into the bowl as she leaned against her hands.
"We need to ask a favour from you, honey." Your throat felt tighter as you swallowed dryly, your grip on Jenna's hand tightened.
"What favour?" You asked her, your eyes flickered back to your father who wasn't even looking at you. Your heart clenched uncomfortably in your chest at the sight.
"Well your father and I have been going through some things lately, and it hasn't been fun. It's been especially hard on your dad." The older woman sighed as she closed her eyes momentarily before she reopened them, her eyes teary as she looked into your eyes. "As your parents, we only ask you one favour, Y/n. We raised you and no parent wants to come grovelling to their own flesh and blood for help."
You stayed silent as you listened to her words, your anxiety was starting to increase at a speed that you hadn't felt in years.
"We need to borrow some money." She finally confessed with a pleading gleam in her eyes. "It's the only thing we've ever asked of you, my sweet child. Please, for your mom and dad."
You should've known they hadn't changed, you should've known.
As you stared into your parents eyes you swallowed dryly as you slowly opened your mouth.
"No." You whispered out.
"No?" He repeated in a mocking tone. "No? Are you serious? After all we've done for you?"
Your frown deepened as you averted his piercing gaze, looking down in your lap as you unconsciously started to rub your feet against each other.
"We could've given your spastic ass up for adoption but we didn't. And this is how you repay us? What a wonderful fucking daughter we have."
You shook your head weakly as your movement with your feet started to become more erratic.
"Get out of our house, right now." Jenna said coldly, trying to keep her temper under control as she didn't want to yell like your father was doing.
A sniffle was heard from your mother as she wiped the tears from her eyes with a tissue. "My own daughter is betraying her only parents." She mumbled to herself.
It was if your heart was in your throat, the feeling as if it was tightening making you shake your head more violently.
"You see what you're doing, you freak, making your own mother cry." Your father pushed as he stood up, banging his fist against the table loudly.
You flinched at the noise as you shut your eyes tightly, letting go of Jenna's hand as you wrapped your arms around yourself.
Jenna stood up as you let go of her hand, glaring heavily at your father. "I'm going to ask you again, leave our home and never return or I'll call the cops." She spat out slowly, her voice full of venom.
"You know what, Miss America, we'll do exactly that. Who would even want that as a child?" He laughed as if it was a joke as he held his wife's sobbing hand. "You're not my child, Y/n. Nobody would even want a reta-"
"Don't you fucking dare finish that sentence." Jenna interrupted the man's words, fury in her eyes as she rounded the table. "You should be ashamed of yourselves, you two are a joke. Get out of our house right now."
Your father scoffed as he helped pull up his wife from her chair, tightening his hand in hers.
You weren't looking at them as you kept shaking your head, your eyes shut tightly as you mumbled incoherent words to yourself. The tightening in your throat becoming unbearable.
You heard your father and Jenna argue lowly but you couldn't hear anything they said as your fathers previous words plagued your thoughts loudly.
A wave of unshed tears were piling up behind your shut eyes as you slid off the wooden chair to sit down against the wall, shaking uncontrollably as you shook your head violently.
Maybe he was right, maybe you were just an unloveable creature.
Behind closed eyes you could notice the room darken, with a shaky gasp you opened your eyes, a flood of tears escaping immediately.
Through the thick tears you could see Jenna crouched down a few feet in front of you, the room itself was darkened as the main light was switched off. The only light remaining in the room was the corner lamp.
"Y/n, can I hold you?" Jenna's disoriented voice asked you, you opened your mouth to say something but nothing came out.
Your fathers cruel words voiced themselves in your mind at your body's rejection of speaking. A sob racked through your body as you desperately nodded your head. Instantaneously the moment you nodded your head Jenna moved to wrap her arms around you, allowing you to lean all your weight into her.
Silent sobs erupted from your body as you clung to Jenna for dear life, hiding your face in the crook of her neck as your arms were wrapped around her tightly.
"It's okay, it's just you and me, nobody else." She cooed into your ear as she gently rocked you back and forth. You could feel one of her hands rubbing affectionately against your back as she shushed you.
You don't know how long you stayed like that for; In Jenna's protective hold as she rocked you back and forth as you sobbed.
Eventually as your breathing calmed down and your sobs dying down, Jenna slowed down her rocking but she kept rubbing at your back with her soft palm.
"You feel a bit better?" She whispered into the dark room, not wanting to startle you with a loud voice.
You nodded your head mutely as you sniffled, your face still hidden in the crook of her neck.
"You know what they said wasn't true, right?" Jenna softly asked as her hand soothed you. You didn't move as you struggled to swallow, knowing if you nodded your head you would be lying.
Weakly, you shrugged your shoulders at her words, your fathers words still plagued your mind.
"What they said was absolute nonsense, Y/n, you're none of the things they called you." She reassured you, her voice so soft that if someone was in the kitchen they wouldn't have heard her. "I promise you I'll never let anyone say anything like that to you again, because what they said was lies."
You nodded your head as Jenna rocked you carefully, your breathing calming down.
"I love you, Y/n, never forget that. I love everything about you, everything." Jenna whispered again as she pressed a feather light kiss to the top of your head. "I wouldn't want you any other way, you're perfect just the way you are, and I love you so much."
Once again you attempted to speak but nothing except a strangled gasp of air came out, you shut your eyes back immediately as embarrassment coursed through your veins.
"Hey, hey, take your time, you don't have to force yourself to talk, okay? Going non-verbal is perfectly okay." Jenna cooed instantly as she rubbed at your back with a stronger force, you relished in the feeling as you nodded your head.
"Do you want me to reheat your dinner so we can watch the second Amazing Spider-Man movie while we eat it?" Jenna offered you in a gentle voice, she had slowed down on the rocking as you calmed down.
Mutely, you nodded your head with more eagerness than before. Jenna smiled in relief as she nodded her own head.
"Okay, I'll go reheat it and you can put the movie on for us. How does that sound?" She said, you pulled away from her as you smiled weakly, nodding your head. Jenna's own smile grew as she nodded her head along with you.
You were still weren’t sure whether your fathers words were true or not, but one thing you were positive of was that Jenna was the best girlfriend.
Jenna will always be your rock as she will always be the love of your life.

ʙᴇᴛᴛᴇʀ ᴛʜᴀɴ ᴍᴇ
pairing(s): sam carpenter x g!p!stem!reader
warning(s): semi-public shit (nothing major at all), kissing(making out), boner, not proofread, uh that's all I think?
summary: your ex, your current girlfriend, and a party game of spin the bottle.
*inspo. song: better than me by doja cat
part two. || part three. coming soon!
────────✯────────
you were hesitant to bring your new girlfriend around core four, not because of who she was but because your ex-girlfriend was apart of core four.
sam.
the problem wasn’t necessarily just based on the fact that she was your ex-girlfriend, but she was your messy on again, off again, crazy ex who was bitter.
you first met sam through mindy and chad, you were a childhood friend of the twins and ironically happen to be in New York for school too. nonetheless they welcomed you with open arms, introducing to none other than core four.
surprisingly to everyone, even sam herself, you two hit it off pretty quick. sharing the same distaste for trusting new people. sam didn’t trust you, so you didn’t trust her.
she’d never admit it, not even now but she found that sexy of you. it made her look at you as stern. but that’s not what made her make a move on you, it was oddly the way you defended tara.
you fought some guy, frankie you think his name was, who was trying to get a move on a not so sober tara.
once sam trusted you, you trusted her and well the rest is historyminus when you’d be out late with friends and come home to get interrogated by sam.
you remember the first fight you had, she’d accused you of being ghostface. but she immediately took it back once she seen you stomping for the door.
it was the same fight over and over and the same make up sex over and over again.
“i’m sorry, baby. you know i didn’t mean it…you know i’m just paranoid.” then you hug her and hold her as she cried, and you’re sighing because you understand.
then you’d kiss her forehead and tell her you weren’t leaving her then she kiss you and tell you let her make it up you and that she did, you can’t deny.
but after a year you got tired of it and called it quits, as douchey as it was and is, you did it over text. you knew if you did it in person it’d only end in the sheets…or the kitchen counter…or the shower…or the living room floo—
six months passed and you were ready to move on, even if sam wasn’t, even she tried to get close to every movie night.
you really started to like this girl, amber you had met in your pre-calc class. to you, she was sexy and mysterious. that’s all you needed to get you going, and in your luck she asked for your number. teasing you about the glances you sent her way during class.
a month after that you started seeing amber and you thought you were ready to bring her around the core four, you texted tara a long message to relay to sam. which she did, claiming sam said she understood and would never get in the way of your happiness.
you held your breath and false hope, muttering up the courage to bring amber around for movie night, it was your turn to pick and of course you chose your obsession, spider-man, specifically the amazing spider-man 2.
everyone groaned and moaned as that was always the movie you picked on your nights.
but sam, oh, evil sam held a smirk and turned you. “hey, y/n, remember last year when you were spider-man for halloween and you begged me to kiss you upside down like in that scene…it was so cute, you hung on the pull-up bar, i swear we made out for hours like that, i don’t know how you didn’t get lightheaded.”
all you could do was glare at the girl and squeeze amber’s hand in comfort.
that was your first and last time bringing amber around sam. and as much as you would love core four to get to know her, you knew sam would do whatever in her power to drive her away. so for now you’ve just been meeting amber’s friends.
“you know,” you poke at the rice on your plate. “core four invited me for game night…i won’t go if you wanna—“
amber cut you off, “babe, you don’t have to put your life or friends on pause for me…if anything i would love if you went an—and i came too.”
the sound of your fork hitting the plate echoed through her apartment’s kitchen when you dropped it.
“you want to come with me? but sam—“
“who cares about sam? look, babe,” she spun her stool to face you.
“we’ve been going out, for what? four months now and you and sam have been over for almost a year. i already know she is nothing to worry about, her bringing up all the shit you guys used to do doesn’t affect the present, which is us and our relationship.”
you smile.
she was right but she also didn’t know sam like you did. when sam wanted something she got it.
“ok.” you agree nonetheless.
✬
“ayeee, y/n!” chad brought you into a ‘bro hug’
“oh shit! and amber!” he gave her some dab up that she didn’t understand but rolled with.
amber? sam’s head turned so fast, she could’ve dislocated her neck.
“finally brought your girl around.” mindy hits your arm playfully, going over to greet amber.
“yeah, finally brought your girl around.” your smile falters hearing sam’s voice.
“don’t start with me tonight.”
she smiles, placing her hand on your bicep. “promise.”
“hi sam.” to your surprise amber greeted the carpenter, even bringing her into a hug.
this was some weird dark feminine mind play. you thought.
“wow.” you hear chad utter and you couldn’t help but chuckle.
“alright!” tara claps her hands together.
“we shall pick from the hat, our first game of the night.” anika held a fedora that held folded pieces of paper in it.
“amber, since you’re our special guest, you should pick first!” chad took the hat from anika’s grasp and brought it to your girlfriend who seated on your lap.
“good luck kiss?” you lean forward pecking her lips before she stuck her hand into the hat, shuffling a little bit before pulling the twister note out.
you hated twister so you sat the game out, but it was funny to watch chad competitively play against the girls. he was the least flexible one there.
the next game was candy land, which you couldn’t pass up. it was your favorite game and you played to win. to everyone else it was entertaining to see you get all worked up and even a bit sweaty over a children’s game but to you it was serious.
you guys made it through a few more games of monopoly, mario kart, life (which ethan won), and a round of hide n seek at the courtesy of chad.
but now there was only one game card left in the hat.
“ou, my turn to pick.” you reach into the hat.
you squint, faltering at the game name on the card.
“spin the bottle?”
“chad.” tara smacks the back of the boy’s head.
“i told you not to put that in there!”
“what? i thought it’d be fun…you know, minus mindy…and y/n, no offense.”
none taken, i like pussy anyways. you thought.
“hell, i say we play it.” sam speaks up for what felt like the first time all night.
“but there are siblings here.” you interject.
“obviously the siblings won’t kiss, y/n.” sam spews venom at you.
“some people are in a relationship….minus ethan.” you spew back.
“ow.” the nerdy boy mutters.
“i mean, it wouldn’t hurt…i trust mindy and i’m not into anyone romantically here…it could just be a peck.” anika speaks up and shockingly mindy nods in agreement.
“yeah, cmon babe, it’ll be fun.” sam scoffs at amber’s ‘babe.’
“ok.” you hesitate. she scoffs even harder at how it easy it was for you get on board at amber’s word.
she used to have that power.
after moving the coffee table, everyone got into a circle on the living room floor, empty beer bottle of chads in the middle.
“ok. who’s going first?”
“i’ll go.” anika reaches to spin the bottle, luckily and ironically it lands on mindy.
after anika’s turn, you zoned out on the game, you didn’t really pay attention to who kissed who. you just knew it was chad’s turn then it was to ethan than tara and now sam, who was across from you.
you snicker to yourself, imagining if it landed on amber. now that’d be a sight to see. you thought.
but what really was sight to see what the bottle land on you.
“no. fuck no.” you grab the bottle but were stopped by sam’s protest.
“ah ah, rules are rules y/n.”
“fuck the rules, i have a girlfriend.”
“babe, relax.” amber reaches, grabbing your hand from the bottle.
“i’m okay. we’re okay. it’s just a game. plus, i’m sure her kiss won’t be anything special.” she slips a clean insult into her sentence, proudly.
you don’t know why, but it wasn’t the fact that you didn’t want to kiss sam, that wasn’t why you protested but it was the fact that you did want to kiss her. despite having amber.
you forehead was scrunched and you bottom lip was caught between your teeth, while you watch sam crawl towards you. when she reached you she dramatically put herself on your lap, thighs on either side of you.
“relax. i’m sure my kiss won’t be anything special.” she subtly mocks your girlfriend but you fail to catch on, all you energy on the girl in front you.
without you ever even noticing, your hands naturally found their way to her hips, while hers rest around you neck.
you were frozen in place but you could feel and see everything, forgetting that your friends, let alone your girlfriend were watching this whole thing go down.
you heart sank and all the air your breathed vacuumed when sam slid her pierced tongue across your lips, teasing you in the ways she knew you liked. she got your lips wet before placing a kiss on them. an intense kiss that took you a second to respond to but oh, you did.
you wrapped your arms fully around her waist, moving her closer.
what was this? this intensity you felt? did you miss sam after all this time and not see it?
you moan. you moan? when sam slips her tongue into your mouth. mhm, you forgot how good this taste, how she taste.
you loved nothing more than fighting your tongue with hers, even if she always won.
even more satisfaction came over you when she looped her hands into the back of your head into your hair, tugging slightly. and not to mention her hips in the most subtle way moving against you.
oh, god. sam carpenter. your only thought.
if it wasn’t for sam pulling away, you’re not sure you would’ve ever stopped. it was so intense that even after she pulled away you stayed there for a moment; eyes closed and swollen lips still slightly puckered.
“well, uh, i think that’s enough of the game…” the game! amber! your thoughts shout and you snap back into reality.
when you look around, everyone’s eyes were back and forth. between you, sam, and amber.
what the fuck did you just do? what the fuck did you just allow to happen?
you wanted to turn to amber, you thought to turn to amber, to look at her but instead your body disobeys your mind and you somehow find yourself staring at sam who had a smirk across her swollen lips, eyeing your girlfriend.
she also speaks to your girlfriend, “you might wanna take care of that…unless you want me to.”
you look down to where she pointed, a boner.
a fucking boner?!
sam, your ex-girlfriend just gave you a boner in front of your current girlfriend.
“sam.” tara utters.
“we should order pizza!” chad speaks up, clapping his hands. everyone agreeing and trying to move from the situation but you stay there.

arachnophobia
pairing: tara carpenter x reader
summary: in which tara protects you from one of your worst fears
warnings: none
word count: 800+
Your scream cut through the silence of the apartment like a hot knife through butter, and Tara jumped at the noise, her heart dropping into her stomach and chills rising along her skin. She quickly pushed herself from her bed, grabbed the taser that was resting on her night stand--courtesy of Sam--and rushed toward the bathroom.
"Y/N?" she yelled as she thudded against the door, hand trying the doorknob only to find it locked. Horrible images were flashing through her mind: you, dead and bloodied on the ground; Ghostface tilting his head at her, that horrible white mask gleaming; a knife, sharp as ever, dripping with your blood. Tara pounded on the door. "Y/N!"
When you whipped the door open, Tara nearly fell on her face, stumbling into the small room with her taser at the ready, her eyes flitting around and preparing to catch sight of the black robes or white mask that haunted her dreams. However, she found nothing, or no one, to suggest the return of Ghostface, and she let out a sigh of relief, tucking the taser into her back pocket before turning to you.
You stood in the doorway, skin pale as a ghost and eyes wide with fear. When Tara reached out for you, she could feel you trembling beneath her, and she furrowed her eyebrows with worry. "What's wrong?" she asked quietly, careful not to spook you.
"There--there's a..." You gulped and pointed toward the shower. Tara whipped around, eyeing the shower curtain. She couldn't see any shadow behind it, but that didn't mean that someone wasn't there. She slipped the taser from her pocket, took slow steps toward the shower, and then ripped the curtain to the side, her arm jabbing out to catch who--if anyone--was hiding in there.
It was empty.
"Huh?" she mumbled to herself before placing the taser on the counter. She peeked her head farther in, as though perhaps she had missed something, before shrugging and turning around. You still looked horrified, however, and she asked again, "Baby, what's wrong?"
You swallowed hard and inhaled a shaky breath. "Don't you see it? It's huge!" you said, which offered the brunette no further explanation. Still, to try to calm you, Tara looked inside the shower again, and then she realized what you were so afraid of.
There, just beneath the handle, was the tiniest spider Tara had ever laid eyes on. It wasn't moving, simply just existing in the space, and the brunette smiled softly at it. "Well, hello little guy," she cooed. She turned around and looked at you. "What do you want me to do with it?" she asked.
You waved your hands around. "I don't know! Kill it or something! Anything!" you rushed out.
She pulled her bottom lip between her teeth and glanced back at the spider. She didn't want to kill it--that felt a bit harsh, especially because it wasn't even doing anything menacing. Instead, she grabbed a few squares of toilet paper, folded them so that it was thick, and held it out to the spider, waiting for a moment until it climbed onto the paper.
Tara maneuvered her way to her bedroom quickly, gigging softly when she passed you and you squeaked at the sight, and then opened her window, urging the spider to hop off the toilet paper with a small, "There you go, little dude!"
"Is it safe to come in?" you asked from the doorway of her bedroom. Tara turned to you, grinning, and nodded, shutting the window once the spider was finally gone. You sighed, falling onto the brunette's bed.
She rounded the edge of her bed and stood between your open legs, resting a hand on your knee. "I didn't realize you're so afraid of spiders," she teased, nails running along your bare skin softly.
You shivered, both at the thought of those eight-legged freaks and the feel of your girlfriend's touch. "They're horrifying. I fucking hate them," you admitted. "Nothing creeps me out more than spiders." You sat up and wrapped your arms around Tara's waist, resting your chin on her chest and looking up at her. "Thank you for dealing with it, though."
She laughed. "No problem, baby. I mean, when you screamed, I thought that Ghostface had returned or some shit," she said, moving her hand up to scratch at the back of your head. You pushed into her touch as you frowned.
"I was wondering why you brought a taser into the bathroom."
"Well, you screamed bloody-goddamn-murder. Can you blame me?"
You chuckled, an embarrassed blush rising to your cheeks. "I guess that's my bad," you said softly.
Tara hummed with a smile. "It's okay." She leaned down and pressed a quick kiss to your lips, pulling away just enough to whisper, "I'll always be around to protect you from the big, bad spiders," before kissing you again.
bonus: when sam returned home for the night, you could hear her out in the main room of the apartment, shuffling around and putting her keys away and whatnot. you didn't pay her much mind until her voice broke out.
"tara?" she called, confused. "why the hell is your taser in the bathroom?!"

HEART
Warnings: Swearing, Frankie, bad writing and a taser?
A/N: Currently writing the next chapter for The Party & The After Party, also this could be read as GN! , there's a few mentions that you're a female tho
Words: 2.7k
Tara Carpenter x Female! Reader
Being Chad Meek's best friend had a lot of benefits. Including, knowing when a party was happening. This is exactly how you found yourself at this house party, dressed up as Spider-Man.
You knew Chad from your football team, he was your quarterback and you were the first female wide receiver to ever play in Blackmore University or the NCAA division in general.
Due to that everyone knew who you were, but you didn't care about the fame or the popularity, you just wanted to enjoy college and get to play football alongside your best friend.
There had been times when people would try to befriend or even date you for your name instead of your actual personality, and it made it hard for you to truly make friends or fall for someone.
Your trust issues began when your ex-girlfriend cheated on you with Frankie. She was the first person (other than Chad) to introduce herself to you and show you around campus.
The two of you started dating about three months after your friendship, and something always felt a little off. It felt as if you were on the same page but on different levels. You wanted to stay out and watch stupid thriller movies and cuddle on the couch while she wanted to go out to parties and show you off anytime she could.
You and Kayla did have a couple of things in common, you got along well, but if anything it was intuitively that you were more like friends or whatever. Sure, you guys were intimate but it still didn't feel right, you were never in love.
And you surely knew she didn't love you.
Especially, after seeing her under Frankie in your own dorm room.
Yeah, that was very disrespectful.
She then proceeded to tell you that she never liked you and only used you for Instagram followers and more friends. Yes, it hurt. But it was better to have her out of your life than to be living with a lie.
After your breakup with Kayla, you thought you'd be sad, but in reality, it just opened up your eyes a bit more. You felt more at ease.
"What's wrong with my sweatpants?" You ask, your voice slightly muffled through the Spider-Man masking over your face.
"I'm telling you I've never seen Spider-Man wear sweatpants," Chad tells you, taking a sip of his drink. You playfully roll your eyes looking over to Ethan for his help, noticing he speaks up.
"Actually, he does in the Miles Morales Spider-Man and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man did behind the scenes."
"But none of that is live action," Chad argues his case causing you to let out a sigh.
"Regardless of how uncanon my Spider-sweats are." Chad furrows his eyebrows shaking his head as you continue, "I still have the best costume here."
"I think Ethan's outfit is pretty cute," Chad says, motioning to Ethan who smiles in response. You jokingly pinch the curly-haired boys' cheeks, "Yeah, but Ethan's just cute in general."
Ethan slaps away your hand while Chad shrugs nodding in agreement. "I'm going to go bother the lovebirds!" You quickly announce, patting Chad's shoulder before leaving.
You make your way through drunk college students and sweaty bodies before noticing Mindy and Anika cuddled up on the couch, walking over you softly push them apart, sitting right between them.
Mindy sends you a playfully fake smile leaning in close to whisper, "I'm going to fucking beat your ass after this party." She fake laughs afterwards noticing that Anika is watching. You fake laugh as well, but side-eye Mindy in slight fear which she can't see due to the Spider-Man covering your face.
Anika is about to say something but her eyes wander off, worry filling her face. Both you and Mindy follow her view, and you notice a female pirate walking alongside Frankie.
You clench your jaw as Anika voices her worries, "Ohhh, I don't love that." Mindy hums in agreement, Anika quickly gets up, softly grabbing the pirate's arm. She turns around with a smile listening to her friend. "Hey, wanna call it a night?"
The smile is still prominent on her face she looks around before answering, "No, uh. I actually think that I'm still going to hang, but you guys don't have to wait for me."
Frankie speaks up with a smirk on his face, "Don't worry. I'll take care of her, I'm Frankie."
Anika shakes her head, "And I'm spectacularly uninterested in knowing anything about you." Frankie scoffs in response while the female Captain Hook laughs, leaning in as she lowers her voice. "No, dude. Anika, I'm not that bad."
She takes a few steps back, slightly walking away. "But I appreciate you looking out for me." Frankie sends Anika a cocky smile before following the dark-haired girl.
You decide now is the time to step in, "I'm going to go help her." Mindy nods her head, sitting up on the couch as you walk over to Anika.
"I'll follow her. You get Chad." You instruct, Anika mumbles, "Okay." And you both walk off in different directions.
"Aren't you that girl involved in that 'Stab' shit in California last year?" You hear Frankie as, she lets out a chuckle, "No. That's a different pirate."
Standing at the end of the steps you speak up, "Frankie! Hey, why don't we keep the party down here? I'd hate to miss out."
Frankie and the pirate turn around at your voice, and you feel Chad beside you. "I think we're good Y/L/N." He replies, recognizing your voice through the mask.
"Well, Tara's good down here." Chad joins in, and immediately Frankie responds. "I'm sorry. I didn't catch that."
"Uh, yeah. Yeah, you did." Chad remarks, trying his best to stay calm. Tara walks down a couple of steps, standing in front of you and Chad. "No, Chad it's fine. I want to."
Frankie walks down too, getting close to Chad's face. "Yeah, see Chad? It's fine she wants to." He turns back around but not before roughly grabbing Tara by her arm, she lets out an, "Ow." and you swiftly grab Frankie by his shirt, pulling him down the stairs.
"Don't fucking grab her like that." You push him away into the wall and a crowd suddenly appears, you don't notice Chad checking on Tara as you're focused on the Frat boy in front of you.
He pushes you back, "Get the fuck off me!" Tara removes herself from Chad's grip walking behind you and gripping your Spider-suit as much as she can, using all of her drunken strength to pull you away from Frankie. "Guys! Guys stop."
Chad angrily steps in, grabbing Frankie by his shirt, and pushing him onto the ground. And as you're being pulled away by Tara, Mindy walks in waving a hand basically telling you to go help Chad.
You glance at Chad then Tara who's shocked at the sight going on in front of you, then at Mindy. You knew Chad could handle himself for a couple of seconds until you got the drunk pirate out of the situation before she hurt herself trying to split up another fight.
"Excuse me!" You shout at the crowd, nearly everyone steps out of your way as you slightly and as softly as you can pull Tara away. Your heart drops when someone suddenly appears in front of you, "Hi! Sorry to interrupt, I'm just going to tase you really quick." Before you could plead your case, you feel a sharp pain in your stomach causing you to drop to your knees.
"Fuck!" You yell out, slapping your hand against the wooden floor. It felt like every muscle in your stomach had a Charlie horse, and you couldn't help but stay curled up on the ground even while Mindy rushed to your side, alongside Tara asking you if you were okay.
Chad was also there too, with a bloody nose. He takes off your mask, showing everyone your squinted eyes, furrowed eyebrows, and your parted lips.
Sam stands there, confused and guilty. Did she tase the wrong person?
"Sam! You tased the wrong person!" Mindy shouts at her. Oh. She did tase the wrong person.
You roll over onto your back, your hands on top of your stomach and you sit up. The group is silent, waiting for your reaction. "Fuck... that really hurt." You mumble, letting out a small laugh after.
Chad smiles, confused but begins laughing with you and everyone soon joins in, helping you up from the ground. As Chad and Mindy both have your arm making sure you were okay Sam walks up, and her face is filled with guilt.
"Holy shit! It's that psycho girl!" Someone yells out from the crowd. Sam sends a slight glare before turning her head back toward you.
"Shit. I am so sorry. I didn't mean to—" You cut her off with a wave, "It's okay." You then tell the twins you're okay, and they reluctantly let you go.
You look around looking for Frankie who definitely deserved the thirty seconds of pain you went through. Noticing he's gone you now focus on Chad, who whips his nose with a smirk on his face.
"I won the fight." He informs you with a jolly smile on his face.
-
Tara storms in front of the group, in embarrassment and anger at her sister.
"Tara! Will you stop!" Tara doesn't stop but only slightly turns her head to speak to her sister. "I cannot believe you did that, you embarrassed me!" Tara faces the front again, continuing her struts.
"I was trying to help you!" Tara turns around, upset if it wasn't obvious before. "And look what happened!" She raises her voice, motioning to you. Your face heats up in embarrassment, as you scratch your nose.
"You're out of my life for five years then you can't even leave me alone for five seconds!" She shouts, throwing her arms up.
"Because you're not dealing with what happened to us. Have you ever gone to see the counsellor at least once?" You look around the group, seeing Mindy let out a sigh watching the scene unfold in front of her.
"No, and I'm not going to." Sam shakes her head, "Why not!"
"Because I'm uninterested in living in the past like you are." Sam furrows her eyebrows, "What's that supposed to mean?"
Chad then takes in a deep breath, tired of the back and forth between the two siblings. "Hey, guys, come on—" He's unheard or ignored as Tara continues. "It means I'm not gonna let what happen to us for three days define the rest of my life!"
"So you're just going to pretend it never happened?" Tara closes her eyes, trying to calm down, and when she reopens them her tone is softer than before.
"What are you doing here Sam? In New York." Sam scoffs, as Tara continues. "I mean y-you're working two shitty jobs to help with.. rent, whatever, but what's your plan?" She stumbles a bit on her words, and you think it's due to the alcohol in her system.
Sam slightly shakes her head, not knowing what to say as Tara proceeds with her point. "I know what I'm going to do. Okay? Because I'm going to keep going to college, I'm going to get my degree, and I'm gonna live my life."
You twist your lips and shift your weight from one foot to another.
"My life," Tara says, slapping her hand against her chest. "That I know." Sam eyes her sister with a slight furrow in her eyebrows. "You just follow me here and you won't let me out of your sight."
"Just trying to look out for you." Tara speaks up, "I—" but cuts herself off, letting out a sigh as she runs her hands down her face. "I know. I know you are."
"You can't do it for the rest of my life though, you have to let me go." There are footsteps heard coming up, Tara turns her head and before anyone could react or say something, Sam is getting a drink splashed onto her.
The girl yells out, "Murderer!" as her one of friends records. Sam gives the girl a shove causing her to slightly stumble back, quickly Chad and you hold Sam back not wanting her to do anything rash. "Fuck is wrong with you, bitch!"
The girl points at Sam, "You guys should stay away from her. She knows what she did!" Sam pushes Chad away, and Tara joins in with you trying to hold back her surprisingly strong sister. "I didn't fucking do anything!"
"Sure, bitch." The girl says, walking away backwards with her friends.
As the group walks away you stand back waiting for Sam as she rings out her shirt, Ethan takes notice of this, walking back and offering her tissues. She eyes the boy before taking the tissues out of his hand. Ethan walks off once Sam looks at him.
You walk to Sam, offering her your Spider-Man mask, "Uh, it's not a tissue but I'm sure it'll help?" She shakes her head waving it off.
"Also, um. I'm Y/N, and for what it's worth I think you're a good sister for trying." She stares at you a bit before nodding, and you begin walking away following the group.
Before you know it you're standing in the middle of the Carpenter-Bailey's living room, awkwardly. Chad is settling down, taking off his jacket and hat and putting on a t-shirt.
Sam, Tara, and Quinn were all in their selected rooms as the rest of you were in the living room.
"Chad?" He hums in response turning around to face you, "I think I'm going to leave."
"Oh, okay. Need me to walk you home?" He genuinely asks, you shake your head. "Nah, it's fine. Tell Tara and Sam it was nice to meet them."
You wave goodbye to Mindy and Anika who are sitting on the couch in front of you before exiting the apartment.
Moments pass and Tara's back in the living room, looking around. "What are you looking for?" Mindy laughs confused, Tara looked like a lost puppy as she searched around the small apartment.
"Where'd she go?" The two girls and Chad furrow their eyebrows. "Who?" Anika asks.
"Uh, Chad's friend." She utters, embarrassed. Mindy immediately noticed how pink Tara's cheeks were and the paper in her hand. Mindy shoots up from the couch, "What's that?"
Tara's eyes move to Mindy's view, she quickly pockets the folded note. "Nothing! I just felt bad that Sam tased the fuck out of them when they wanted to help me."
Mindy turns her head at Anika and Chad, raising her eyebrows and they instantly get the message. Tara thinks you're cute, and that note would confirm it. "Oh!" Chad says, standing up from his chair. "I could always give it to her."
Tara's eyes leave Mindy and go to Chad, "Really?" She says hopefully, "You wouldn't read it right?"
Quickly he shakes his head, "No. No. No! Of, course not!" He holds out his hand so Tara can give him the note, and she does. Anika watches this from the couch, but her jaw drops when she sees Mindy's hand snatch the note and runs to her with it.
"Mindy!" Tara shouts, trying to run after her but Chad grabs her, and all Tara can do is watch Mindy open her note in, reading it out loud.
"hi! this is tara, the pirate from the party. sorry that we had to meet on such terms, please let me make it up to you, from tara. HEART!" Mindy reads, shouting the last bit.
Chad lets Tara go with a shocked face, and Tara covers her own face in embarrassment.
Everyone's head turns to the door, noticing you standing there. "Hi..." You awkwardly, mumble out. "I forgot my mask." You tell them, pointing at it beside Anika on the couch.
Mindy looks at the mask, then at you. "How long have you been here?"
"Um.." You scratch your eyebrow. "Long enough to accept Tara's proposal." You laugh, with a cheeky smile.
Tara smiles widely, her face nearly as red as a tomato.

ALSO NEW THEME!!!
It was girls' night which meant drunk confessions and dumb middle school games in the living room of the Carpenter sisters' apartment.
As much as the boys thought it was unfair getting thrown out, they planned to have their own fun night, which was sitting in their apartment living room yelling at a flat screen tv over the video game of the hour.
Everyone at this point had found out Ethan your boyfriend was Spiderman, he told them about a year into taking on the role, when he had told them Mindy had stood up shouting "YES! you owe me twenty bucks Chad" everyone had laughed about it and seemed not surprised.
Months had passed and everyone got used to the disappearances of Ethan, but for you it was hard. You always missed him, you felt like you never saw him. Between classes and working, your schedule never matched with his. The occasional nights where he'd slip in through your window would be a treat, but it was never enough.
It was already passed midnight, the drinks were getting stronger, and the music was getting louder.
"Alright y/n we all answered now it's your turn! Where's the weirdest place you've had sex." Mindy stood in the doorway of the kitchen with a bottle of vodka and grape juice in her hand. Everyone was giggling at the question as your face was blushing.
You looked up acting like you were thinking of it, Sam and Tara were sitting on the couch trying to guess places, Anika was making some snacking and drinks with Mindy.
Setting your drink on the coffee table you laughed to yourself finally landing on a place, it weirdest and it's definitely not a normal place. "Ethan wanted to take me on a date around the city, but Spiderman style. So, we went swinging around and then at some point he made this web between some random buildings, and we could look at the stars and well you know one thing led to another."
Tara, and Sam's mouth hung open, "no fucking way you had sex in the middle of the sky on a fucking spider web!!" Everyone's eyes were wide open looking at you as if you told them your darkest secret.
"I mean it's not that bad, its honestly really comfortable plus Ethan he-"Mindy's voice cut you off as she came back into the room with drinks, Anika followed holding the snacks.
"No, we don't need to hear anything about Ethan, I can't look at him other than the shy nerdy boy" you laughed and kept the rest to yourself.
After a good hour or so Tara was knocked out, Mindy and Anika were going to walk back to their place and Sam was going to head to Danny's place across the street. Your mind was racing, and your body felt so hot and warm.
Your mind had thought about Ethan, your heart ached so much at the thought of not seeing him right now. Pulling out your phone you thought about texting him.
The boys had taken a little bit of a break from the game to talk, Chad wanted to talk about how things were going with Tara when ethan felt his phone buzz. Grabbing it from the counter he read a message from you.
pretty girl <3
'baby i miss youu so muh! like i wantto see you!'
'oh i think im just druk'
'your withchad illl leaave you alone'
'im srry'
'i love you baby haha bug boy i miss you'
He smiled looking at the messages, he thought it was cute anytime you were drunk. If you weren't together you would spam his phone in love notes, it was his favorite thing.
bugg boy 🕷
'my love are you okay?'
'Do you want me to come get you? I don't mind!'
'Baby you don't have to bee sorry, you know I love these messages!!'
'Pretty girl, I'm heading over!'
Chad had been fine with Ethan leaving, that had also given him a reason to see his girlfriend. Taking Ethan's car they drove to the girls' apartment, they didn't worry about knocking since it was their second home.
Walking in Chad could see Tara curled up in the couch chair, Ethan's landed on you. You were laying down on your stomach face buried into the couch half hanging off. Chad walked to Tara talking to her softly, he got her up and guided her to her room.
Ethan sat on the ground next to the couch, his hand softly rubbing your back. "My love, I'm here. How are you feeling?" You felt the warmth of his hand through your shirt, the sound of his voice so low and soft made your heart flip.
You raised your head slightly already smiling, "bug boy, my bug boy" You pushed yourself off of the couch making the rest of your body slide into his lap. "ugh I missed you" he chuckled as he felt you shove your face in his neck.
"How drunk are you?" you giggled at his question, something about it seemed funny. Ethan pushed his body up so he could take a look at you.
You laid in his lap with your eyes half closed, "you're so beautiful. Like yes, you're hot but like also so beautiful, with your curly fluffy hair oohh and your freckles- your freckles are so pretty and your eyes- godd I'm so in love with you" Your arms wrapped around his waist, your face buried in his chest under his jacket a little.
His face burning red with your confession. "My love as much as I love hearing you say you love me; we need to get you to bed. Let's get you home-"
"Your bed. I want your bed, it smells like you, and if you aren't there when I wake up at least I have your sheets that have your smell" You nodded to yourself as you thought out loud, Ethan wasn't meant to hear that, but You couldn't control what you were saying right now.
"Fine, we will go to my place." Your face lit up at the agreement. He helped you stand up only for you to tumble, "Okay, hold on." he turned around, so his back was facing your chest. "Can you jump up?"
He squatted down more, so it wasn't such a big jump. Your hands rested loosely on his shoulders. You jumped as much as you could, and his hands grabbed the back of your thigh, pulling you up. He jumped himself a little so you could get on his back comfortably.
He checked on Chad and Tara and saw they were good and then made his way back to the car. You were half asleep on his back, mumbling little things to yourself. "Bug boy is my boyfriend, I love bug boy, how am I moving?"
He laughed at your little comments. You're going to have a rough morning tomorrow. He made it back to the car and placed you on the passenger side, leaning in. He was trying to buckle you in, but you grabbed his face, pulling him to you. Your lips met his, and he could taste the cheap liquor. "Mmm, I love being able to do that." Your words were slurred, but he could understand you.
After a solid thirty minutes, you reached Ethan's apartment. He carried you in and set you on the corner of his bed, running to the kitchen he got water, and as he turned to the sink, he felt his spider tingles go off. The next thing he heard was you saying "oh oh" he ran back to the room to see you stumbling into the bathroom. Making it just in time to the toilet he grabbed your hair as you felt all the alcohol make its way back up.
"Its okay baby let it out" he felt bad he couldn't do more to help you, he hated seeing you like this.
His hand ran up and down your back, as you sat there for a few more minutes. "I'm fine, I swear, Ethan I'm good" your voice was echoing from the inside of the bowl.
"Do you need to throw up anymore?" his voice was soft and filled with concern.
You shook your head, leaning up from the toilet. he grabbed your wrist taking a hair tie from you. Pulling your hair back he made a sloppy bun.
Picking you up he sat you on the lid edge of the tub, resting your back on the wall you watched him. He flushed the toilet and cleaned around it with the mess you made and seeing him clean just made something in you sad.
"Oh god Ethan I'm so sorry- I'm sorry I made a mess on your-" before you could finish, he reached over cupping your face.
"Hey, hey, look at me it's okay. I don't mind, it's a little bit of puck but who cares. I'm here to take care of you, okay. Don't be sorry, any excuse to take care of my love I will do anything" he kissed the top of your head. Your face was even more flushed from his words.
"I need to brush my teeth and take my makeup off" you tried to get up but felt Ethan's webs stick to your wrist.
"No. Sit down. I will do it" his voice was stern yet loving.
He turned around with a makeup wipe remover already in hand, kneeling down he grabbed your face pulling it down to look at him. The coldness of the wipe made you gasp but then hum, the feeling of his hand on your face made you lean into his touch.
You looked at him, seeing the moles you love so much scattered over his face. The brown eyes you fell in love with, then your eyes landed on a scar on his right eyebrow. Your lips formed into a frown as you reached out and touched it.
Ethan took notice as your face was full of sadness. "what's wrong pretty girl?"
"I don't like you going out at nighttime fighting, I don't want you to go out one night and not return. I miss you." He saw the tears in your eyes build up.
He didn't know how to answer at first, his hand still resting on your face while the other hand wiped your makeup. "I'm sorry, pretty girl. I didn't realize you felt like this. How about we talk about this more in the morning."
Your eyes were getting heavy as each minute passed, mindlessly nodding your head already forgetting the conversation. Ethan then helped you somewhat brush your teeth and get to bed, where a glass of water sat waiting for you on the nightstand.
Chugging half of it you climbed into bed smiling, "mmmh smells like my boyfriend" you grabbed his pillows burying your face in them. Ethan couldn't help but laugh at your actions.
He followed you into his bed, lying next to you, his arms wrapped around you pulling you closer. Your face buried into his neck as you moved to get comfortable. "I have the best boyfriend, ha-ha, spiider-man, my bug boy" he felt you lightly kissing his neck before sleep fully took over your body.

you shut your book as lecture was concluded, gathering your notebook and notes together and putting them into your bag. your headphones hung around your neck, and in any other day you would’ve put it on and not said a word to anyone, but you were standing next to tara, waiting patiently for her to pack up.
her hands were shaking slightly as she shoved her items into her backpack hurriedly, occasionally dropping pencils. “fuck,” tara muttered under her breath, quickly picking up her dropped pencils and putting them into her bag haphazardly.
“you seem on edge,” you stated dryly, making her huff in frustration. of course, you knew the reason why; there was no need for her to treat you like a therapist and tell you everything.
“that’s one way to put it.” tara sighed as she threw her backpack over her shoulder. she walked alongside you as you made your way towards the exit. “you don’t usually wait for me,” she stated, glancing at you suspiciously, though you were looking ahead of you and not at her.
“i guess this class is finally teaching you something,” you hummed, looking at her from the corner of your eye. she didn’t seem to let it up, still tensed as you sighed, rolling your eyes. “call it a change of heart.” your response didn’t calm her completely, but her shoulders relaxed.
you both passed your professor, who acknowledged your leave with a small, “miss carpenter, miss vaughn,” which you only nodded at. you walked ahead of tara and held the door open for her.
“did you hear about the murders?” tara asked, tilting her head at you as you began to walk. she was probing at you, you knew that, but you knew better than to admit that ‘no, i’m not worried because i steal things to pay rent rather than kill people and i’d rather pay attention to that,’ so you kept it as honest as you could.
“‘course i did. just because i have no friends doesn’t mean i live under a rock, tara,” you teased with a slight smile, making her roll her eyes. she couldn’t even deny it; she of all people knew you kept to yourself. the only time she ever saw you socializing was at parties, flirting with guys and making them believe they were in charge of the situation before you led them upstairs (when you obviously had them wrapped around your finger).
“well, obviously. it’s just.. everyone seems so on edge, and it makes sense!” tara added hurriedly, “i’m not saying it doesn’t! but you look so..”
“so..?” you raised a brow.
“so calm.” tara let out a long sigh, hands holding onto the straps of her backpack. “i don’t know how you do it.”
was she asking you how to stay calm? you blinked, trying to analyze her words in a way you could understand. was she indirectly asking you for advice? “well, this is kind of an atypical situation to stay calm in,” you began, glancing at her, “but i’d say i’m just too spiteful to let anyone other than me influence how i feel. i’m not gonna let some psycho have so much power over me that i can’t live my life, y’know? i've been stressed out enough."
you looked away from tara, only slightly embarrassed at your own words. this was why you had no friends; too much second hand embarrassment. your eyes settled on the pavement ahead of you, tilting your head in interest at the sight of tara’s friend group; her sister, sam, mindy (who you only knew because you had taken a shot with her once) and some other people you didn’t know.
“you give good advice, y/n.” tara said, making you scoff as you raised a hand and waved her compliment away.
“whatever,” you said, managing a small smile her way. turning back to her friends (who were walking closer) you said a quick, “stay safe, tara,” before you walked away, allowing her friend group to walk up to her.
you passed by a brunette boy as you put your headphones on, not bothering to say hello to tara’s group (they were her friends, not yours). but you were too preoccupied with your music to notice that you had passed ethan, who looked back at you as you walked away. he took in your form, how you dressed in strictly black and white clothes yet had a tote bag with a small cat charm on it. he didn’t even get a good look at you, but he found himself watching you walk away.
“dude.” chad nudged his shoulder, breaking him from his stupor. a knowing grin made its way onto his friend's face, one that made ethan’s ears and cheeks burn red.
“don’t say anything.”
“who is she?” chad asked shamelessly loud, ignoring ethan’s groan of embarrassment. his voice broke the conversation the girls were having, making them lean in out of interest.
“literally no one!” ethan exclaimed, silently begging for chad to not make a big deal out of it. he’s been on his ass for ‘not putting himself out there’ and choosing the library life instead. he always told him off for never truly living a life of someone his age.
if only chad knew that ethan had been craving that feeling of living as though he was his age and not some 30 year old man. but after richie’s death and after he basically (almost) cut off his family (not to mention his secret nighttime job as a superhero), he felt as though that was basically impossible. simply put, ethan landry had more important things to focus on rather than worry about living like a college student.
“not really no one,” tara stated, poking her head into the conversation. “that’s y/n vaughn—”
“another side character. see— probably gonna die,” mindy said to her girlfriend, anika, who sighed as she squeezed her hand reassuringly.
“sure, babes.." anika said, "but maybe don’t assume everyone tara talks to is like, cursed or something?”
“i only ever talk to her during my psych class, so don’t worry,” tara huffed, sitting down at a nearby bench. chad wordlessly sat next to her. “i probably haven’t cursed her. besides, she doesn’t seem like the type to be really bothered by that stuff.”
“what does that mean?” ethan asked, sitting next to chad.
“she’s just really straightforward— the nonchalant type, y’know.”
“even more suspicious!” mindy stood up in front of them as though she was ready to give a presentation; which, honestly, she kind of was. a dark look befell her features as she began to talk about the possible suspects, listing off everyone’s name one by one and including one extra; y/n vaughn.
you polished every one of your retractable claws, pulling your lamp over it to allow it to shine brightly. it was razor sharp at this point, as you had been using everything in your power to make them as dangerous to others as possible. your room was boiling hot, and you had opened up the window of your room, silently thankful you had a balcony and not a fire escape. at least then, no psychos could casually climb up to your apartment.
the photo of you and your father was situated on the corner of your table as you worked; you, age only 8, were wearing huge headphones as you sat on your father’s shoulders at a rock concert. it was one of the few photos you had of your dad, and while you didn’t want to think of yourself as a particularly sentimental person, you were probably just in denial. because even as you worked and only saw it in the corner of your eye, you felt that familiar tug of pain in your chest.
if only he knew that you had a deal with an insect themed superhero.
you checked the clock, letting out a sigh upon seeing ‘11:12 am’ flash back at you. you were already 12 minutes late to your meeting with the hero, and you weren't even dressed yet. the sound of paws hitting your table and a soft coo made you turn your head towards one of your cats, a genuine smile gracing your features.
"how did i get into this situation, bitters?" you sighed, holding your hand up and feeling bitters rub his black fur under it, purring loudly. reluctantly, you stood up and began to get dressed, stripping before pulling on your usual black suit and mask. you reached for your gloves on the table and retracted your claws before reaching for the rest of your equipment; your grappling hook, your throwing knives, and your gun. the murderer (or murderers) were clever, you knew that, and they probably spent months or years preparing for their plan.
you never underestimated someone with a drive to kill.
the night was calm, void of any strong and chilly winds. the moon was still as full as ever, hanging over you like a lamp as you made your way out your window and shot your grappling hook up to the nearby building's ledge. pulling yourself up and over to the next roof, you began to run, allowing the adrenaline to flow smoothly through your veins.
your legs helped you jump over the gaps between the buildings as though it was second nature to you; and in a way, it was. you had been stealing ever since your father died, only taking up bigger projects when you were 16. you knew how to slink your way between alleys and roads, how to travel across streets and cops undetected. you weren't a novice.
the building in front of tara and sam's apartment came into view as you neared. you saw the familiar red and blue hero situated on the rooftop, his back to you as you set your feet down on the floor. immediately, he turned around, as though you had made all the sound in the world. only mildly perturbed, you rolled your eyes. "is that one of your little powers? being able to tell when i'm here?"
standing up to look at you, he crossed his arms over his chest. "you're 30 minutes late," spider-man said annoyedly, making you sigh exaggeratedly, walking towards him. one of your gloved hands came to flick his arm as you passed him.
"you're such a sourpuss. i wasn't aware that you were so strict about our meetings." squatting down to avoid detection, you gazed at the apartment building. he was practically radiating warmth, for as he sat next to you, you felt his warmth going off of him in waves. having powers must've made him similar to a furnace. throwing a quick look at him, you managed a smirk and added, "i didn't know you were so desperate to see me."
he scoffed at your words, shaking his head in disbelief. "jesus, not everything is about you, you know," he grumbled, "i needed you here on time so that we could talk about that information you gave me yesterday."
"right," you drawled, "the shit about the stab masks and the roommates. i was gonna ask one of the mafias i've worked with if they knew anything about that." you had told him what had happened after you had called the police to laura crane's body. you had followed the perpetrator after recognizing his backpack, and found him walking into his dorm room (which was at your college, another detail that truly made you think about whether you should just stop going to classes). he was killed right after you had left him, unwilling to call the police for obvious reasons, but you wanted to keep an eye on him. and while it wasn't your m.o, you might have killed him.
but spider-man didn't know that.
"i don't think there's only one killer. and as it's shown in the past, there's almost always two," spider-man said thoughtfully, eyes focused on the window view the both of you had into tara and sam's kitchen. unbeknownst to you, spider-man was also adamant on watching their apartment for another reason; quinn was in there. ethan wanted to keep an eye on his sister and protect her as much as he could, because he knew that being friends with the woodsboro survivors put her in as much danger as them.
you scoffed. "well, that's obvious. being that codependent on someone else has got to make you a sociopathic murderer. placing that much trust on another that you murder together.. that's collateral damage. they're practically bound for failure."
spider-man sent you a look (or as much of a look as he could with his mask covering his entire face). "i bet you have tons of friends with that mindset, kitty."
you rolled your eyes at his words. "thanks, spider, you're such a wonderful person to be around while we stake out this killer," you said dryly, letting out a huff.
"trust me," spider-man chuckled in disbelief, "the fact that i'm stuck with a criminal with more of an attitude problem than anyone i've ever met doesn't exactly make me thrilled."
you let out a joyless laugh. who was he to even talk to you like that? you weren't going to let some baby-man with powers talk about you as though you were nothing. "you can do this shit alone then, spider." you stood up, making him stand up alongside you. an accusatory finger poked at his chest. "if you can't deal with my attitude—"
"i'm surprised anyone can," spider-man seethed, walking closer to you.
you clenched your jaw, fists clenching as you stopped yourself from throwing a punch. "all that stuff about asking the mafia, you—"
spider-man's head turning to his left as he murmured a small, "shut up." his head turned around him frantically, as though he was suddenly searching for something. he felt that familiar chill run through his entire nervous system, and yet he found himself running a blank. nothing was happening; nothing he could see, at least.
"i won't, actually! you can kiss that plan goodbye if you keep being such a fucking—" spider-man grabbed your arm, his hold not tight, but firm enough to cut your words off.
"something is happening right now. and i don't know what it is." he seemed panicked as he spoke, as though everything was running on overdrive. usually he knew exactly what was happening, but he didn't know what this time. he couldn't see anything huge happening around him, but he knew something was going on. something in the apartment.
you looked at the apartment, squinting when you saw tara and her friends laughing over god knows what. turning back to the hero, you swallowed your pride down for once and forced out a, "take me to where you think it's happening."
a beat. he was studying your face, trying to see if you were serious, if you were actually willing to help him despite your interrupted argument. wordlessly, he put his hand around your waist and pulled you to him, throwing a web towards tara and sam's apartment.
a scream left mindy's lips when she ran into the bathroom, finding the body of one of quinn's hook-ups in the tub, stabbed repeatedly with his blood splattered all around him. "oh, fuck, that guy's dead!" mindy cried out, gripping her sliced arm tightly before she turned back to the bathroom entrance, screaming at the sight of the murderer right at the door.
they took a step towards her, knife glinting in their hand before you kicked him in the stomach, kicking him against the wall. your clawed hand came down to scratch his chest, your brows furrowing when your hand met a bulletproof vest rather than skin. the murderer swung his knife at you, only slicing the base of your neck as you quickly dodged. you punched their face and kicked them back further against the wall, using one of your knives to stab their chest, only praying it made it past their bulletproof vest. you then ran into the bathroom and shut the door behind you.
"who the fuck are you?!" mindy screamed, taking in your get up and mask, eyes widening in recognition. "you're that criminal—"
"stop talking and get into the room! take this," you put one of your throwing knives in her hand and turned to sam, who was pulling mindy into the bedroom and sending you a confused look. shoving them both into the bathroom, you helped them barricade the door before the killer came close, your back against the door as you kept the dresser against it.
"who is this?!" anika yelled, practically spilling her guts all over the bed.
"maybe don't ask questions while your intestines are threatening to come out!" you yelled, still holding the door shut.
"say something more positive!" anika screamed in response, mindy coming next to her to apply more pressure to her huge wound.
you looked at sam, who was yelling at the neighbor across the alleyway, before she looked up, her face laced with even more confusion. "about time!" she yelled at the hero, who crawled down the wall as he threw a web at the roof's ledge and held onto the other end of it.
"we're gonna get you across!" spider-man said reassuringly, offering a hand out for sam, who immediately took it. he pulled her close as he brought her across and into the other window into the arms of the neighbor before he went to the other window again, peeking in. "oh, hey!" he said lightly, trying not to show his panic.
"hi. can you help?!" mindy asked harshly, helping anika stand up and bringing her to the hero.
"oh, you don't look great!" he shot some webbing into his hand and places anika's hand more into her wound before wrapping her hand and her wound, keeping the pressure. "keep pressing down," he said, carefully putting his arm around her to bring her to the other side. "you doing okay there, kitty?" he asked behind his shoulder at you, making you groan in frustration.
"just fantastic!"
"okay, good!" with that, he swung out the window, anika screaming in her wake. he brought her to the neighbor's window, carefully putting her down before he went back for mindy.
the door behind you suddenly lurched forward, as though the killer had gained twice the strength than they originally had. the sudden strength pushed you far enough away from the door for it to open, the killer quick as they shoved it wider. you hand flew to your gun, ready to shoot despite the vest you knew they were wearing. behind you, mindy was already being brought to the other window, leaving you alone with the killer, who tilted their head at you. they took the knife you had stabbed into them and threw it back at you, making you dodge it quickly, shooting a shot at their leg.
they didn't fall. instead, they swung at you, cutting your side as you moved back. you groaned at the sudden pain, hand coming down to hold it tightly as warm liquid began to seep through your fingers. they managed to cut in the one area that wasn't protected by some of your armor. and while it was only a slice, they cut deep. they were angry; it was evident in their sudden frantic movements. they wanted you dead.
they lunged at you, making you move away from the window and shoot at them again, your shots to their chest doing nothing. "i fucking hate this," you grumbled, putting your gun back into your side before you unsheathed your claws and swung at his dominant arm, scratching it and hearing them groan in pain.
the sound was muffled, but they sounded like a man.
you kicked them, trying to kick them out of the window, only for them to grab the windows edges and lunge at you again, making you move swiftly out of the way and making them hit the dresser harshly.
a thwip sent a web towards their hand, and another sent one to their leg, sticking them there. spider-man swung in next to you, taking in the cut on your neck and the blood dripping from your hand. "you have to get out of here," he stated, grabbing your hand and lifting it to use a web to bandage your wound quickly.
"i'll be fine," you seethed, ignoring the pain, "remove his mask, we need to catch him."
"you're not going to be fine, i'm getting you out of here," his hands came down around your waist despite your protests, your want to remove the killers mask strong as you tried to wriggle your way out. "stop being so fucking stubborn and let me help you!" the hero snapped, already throwing a web out the window and pulling the both of you away from the apartment.
he laid you down on the rooftop of the building, giving you a quick once over before he went back to the apartment, leaving you alone. you hated to admit it, but the amount of blood you were losing from both your wounds was making you dizzy.
spider-man landed back inside the apartment, letting out a groan of frustration at the sight of the cut webs and the lack of a killer. turning to the neighbor's apartment, he swung over, landing in their kitchen casually. "help is on the way. in the meantime stay in here," he looked at all of them strewn throughout the apartment, all sporting some type of wound. the eyes of his mask narrowed when he noticed a few people were missing. tara and chad were gone, but most importantly, quinn was gone too. "was anyone left behind?" he asked sam, trying to keep a relatively calm front.
"tara and chad were locked out, and our roommate, quinn.." sam swallowed thickly, her eyes fogged over as she tried not to think too hard about it.
from beneath the mask, ethan's eyes began to blur over with tears out of worry, the lack of response making him want to shake sam and demand answers. demand where his sister is, cry out that they should've done more, that it was him under the mask, that he needed to know if she made it. "did," he exhaled shakily, makiing sam look at him in interest, "did she die?"
"she didn't make it," sam said with a heavy exhale. "ghostface got to her before we could stop them."
ethan's jaw clenched as his eyes began to well up with more tears that he couldn't wipe away. it felt like sensory overload; he could hear anika's labored breathing and mindy's reassurance from the living room, smell the smell of pennies from everyone's blood, feel every fiber of his suit sticking to his skin. he was suddenly aware of how small the apartment felt, how the ceiling seemed to come closer and closer to his head and how the walls seemed too reachable.
he had to get out.
"thank you. and tell your friend thank you too," sam said, breaking his cloud of sadness briefly.
his friend. you were still up there, bleeding all over the roof.
"i have to go. i'm.. i'm sorry about your roommate." he turned to the others in a silent farewell, before turning back to sam. "we'll be doing patrols around your guys' apartment." and with that, he swung out the window and back to you, pulling his mask over half his face to try and regain his breath.
"he was gone, wasn't he?" you asked, your voice monotone as you sat with your hand over your wound. you looked at him, your eyes unreadable as you took in how stressed he looked. he was drinking in air as though he had been drowning, and if you looked closely, you saw tearstains on his cheeks. his head had fallen back and his face was tilted up to the sky, his chest heaving as he tried to calm himself. rather than question it, you knew it wasn't your place.
ethan, while he wanted to desperately to cry and scream for the death of his sister, only tried to calm himself. he could feel anger thrumming through his veins, and most of all, he felt that same pain he felt when richie died. as though a part of him had died too.
he realized then that the panic he had felt from his senses was most likely the feeling of his older sister dying in the arms of a killer. he felt her attack.
"he was." the hero answered, taking in one more deep breath and exhaling slowly. he turned to you and moved to help you stand up. instinctively, his arm cam around your waist, allowing you to use him like a crutch. "we have to get you help," he murmured, turning towards the direction of the hospital.
"you and i both know that we can't go to the hospital," you muttered, looking at him. his mask was still pulled over half of his face, leaving the upper half of his face a mystery to you. but you could see the lower half, and you stopped the urge to roll your eyes at your conclusion.
of course, new york's spider-man was a pretty boy.
"fine, then. we're going to your place."
yeah, he was pretty. pretty stupid.
"are you serious?" you managed a laugh that quickly died due to the pain that shot up your chest. "no. why can't we go to your place?"
"because my roommate has a room right next to me and the walls are so thin that he can hear everything i do," he responded dryly, looking down at you. "you don't have to remove your mask. i won't do it either, and.. you can put away any photos you have in your apartment. deal?"
you stared at him, weighing the other options in your head before groaning. "fine," you grumbled in annoyance, "but i better not see you making any friendly visits any time soon. i'm not the hospitable type."
"'m not gonna make any visits, kitty. promise."
spider-man pushed your window open, helping you enter before he closed it shut behind you both. the sound of your two cats, bitters and junie, welcomed you home as per usual, their meows relaxing you as you managed a small smile their way. surprisingly enough, they rubbed themselves on the hero's leg as they made their way towards you.
"very on brand of you to be a cat lady," he hummed, making you send him a look as you reached down to pet them briefly. "am i wrong? you're black cat and you have black cat. and a white one. for all i know you could have more in here."
"do you want to meet my cats or help me stop losing blood?" you asked snarkily, making him turn to you, the eyes of his mask widening.
"oh, right. you're hurt."
"thanks for your concern," you responded dryly, feeling him fix his arm around your waist. "bathroom's down that hall to the left."
your weight seemed like nothing to him as he led you to your bathroom, sitting you down on your closed toilet. he threw open your cupboards, searching for your first aid and finding it. he managed a small triumphant smile as he took it out, closing the cupboard and sitting to your right.
"you know what you're doing, right?" you asked warily, staring at him as he brought out your suture kit. "scandalous," you couldn't help but comment as he pulled his gloves off, making him send you a look.
"stop staring at my hands."
"i'm staring at the needle you're going to stab me repeatedly with, not your hands," you stated, rolling your eyes. "your hands are nice too though, spider." you chuckled at his frustrated sigh, eyes on him as he stood up to wash his hands. "you didn't answer my question."
rushing water filled your ears as he washed his hands diligently. he seemed to be thinking about whether or not he should answer your question, but honestly, you were just trying to make the whole situation less awkward. you couldn't care less whether he had done it before or not; what mattered was that he could suture up your wound.
"i think it was the fifth time i was in a fight?" he began, eyes set on his hands as he dried them off on a nearby towel. "i was still.. new to all of this, i guess. caught this gang ready to beat this poor kid up— he was like, 13 at the most, and they were trying to get back at his older brother. 'course i had to help him." he moved back to your side, sitting down comfortably and taking the suture kit. "i was able to get most of 'em out of the way. but one snuck up on me. my senses made me get out of the way on time, but i got this huge cut on my stomach. another one on my side from his buddy." he carefully cut the webs on your side, looking up at you for permission. "i'm gonna have to cut your suit. may i?"
you nodded quickly. "i have more, just.. keep talking."
"right." he cut the rest of the webbing, including the cloth of your suit, reveling the entirety of your wound. "i spent that night suturing up my own cut with a needle and thread. i can heal pretty quickly but if i were to just bleed everywhere my roommate would notice." he then took a cloth and rubbing alcohol and gently cleaned around your cut. "hurt like a bitch, though."
"well, duh." you watched him pull out all the thread and take the forceps to bring the needle out. he brought it closer to your skin, and you took deep breaths.
"ready?"
"just get it over with." you groaned in pain when the needle entered your skin, the thread pulling through quickly after it. the pain was horrible, but soon enough he was tying the knot and beginning the next one. you were biting down harshly on your lip, trying not to cry out from the pain as you felt the next one enter. your mind was so focused on the needle continuously entering your skin that you didn't even hear spider-man talk to you.
"your apartment is nice," he said softly, only glancing up at you before he focused back on the task at hand. "you must be loaded from all the stealing 'n stuff."
his hands were a bit rough, most likely from training and from superhero duties. but the way he touched you, regardless of how harsh your personality was; it was as though he was scared he'd break you. as though he was watching his strength as he poked the needle through your skin and pulled, careful not to hurt you as much as he already was.
he didn't know why he was being so gentle, why he was watching how he was touching you. maybe he felt guilty for allowing you to be the one to go into the apartment. maybe he wanted to make up for the wounds he felt like he indirectly caused you. ethan didn't know.
"yeah," you forced out through gritted teeth, trying to steady your breathing. he was trying to distract you, trying to keep you talking about whatever he was asking you rather than having you focus solely on the thread moving through your skin.
but unbeknownst to you, ethan was asking you questions not only to distract you, but to distract himself as well. he was still reeling from the death of his sister, but he had compartmentalized it all before he had given himself the chance to fully cope. he hadn't fully cried yet, nor had he given himself time to grieve. he didn't know when he could; it felt like he had no time to grieve for her. "the day we first met, after i caught you—"
"you didn't catch me."
"after i almost caught you while you ran away from the museum," another stab, another stab, another knot. "why did you bring that painting back there? like," his lips twitched downwards, "you didn't even steal anything from the museum, which is weird considering you're a thief and probably a klepto who would love to have a collection of paintings in her really nice apartment—"
"i put it back where it came from." you avoided his gaze as you focused on the bathroom floor as though it was the most interesting thing in the world. "the rich people i stole it from hired some random criminals to steal it first," you explained, "so i just put it back. they don't deserve to keep that piece of art to themselves when the painter made it for everyone to enjoy."
he looked up at you after he finished tying another knot, taking in your features. how you seemed a million miles away despite being right in front of him, and how you had just admitted that one of your crimes had more meaning behind it than just a simple burglary. and you looked.. almost embarrassed to say it. as though you had never admitted it out loud before.
"the people you steal from are usually well off."
you turned your head to look at him, and this time it was his turn to focus on something else. his eyes were set on his stitches. "old money, new money, just people who are incredibly wealthy."
"have you been studying me, spider?" you asked teasingly, making his cheeks (or what you could see of it) burn red.
"no. i mean—" he stammered, groaning when he heard you chuckle softly. "i had to! i mean, i've been trying to keep track of the usual criminals in the city and you were obviously on that list so.. yeah!"
"so you were studying me." you tilted your head with a teasing smile.
"okay! you're done." he put a bandage around the suture to finish it off, throwing away the used needle and thread. he began to clean up quickly, shoving the suture kit into the first aid box. but as his eyes looked back at you, he paused his embarrassed antics. he stared as you stood up, ready to change your clothes, before he stopped you. "wait."
you looked at him in confusion as he took out a bandage and ran a cloth under water. he moved closer to you, and you saw him visibly gulp from where his mask was pulled up. "your neck," he murmured, and you raised a brow, but for once stayed quiet. the warm cloth met the base of your neck, rubbing away the dried blood from the cut that you forget was even there. water dripped down your skin and melted into your suit, but you were too preoccupied with looking at how his tongue poked at his cheek when he was focused.
he wiped away the rest of the blood and used a dry towel to pat it down dry before taking the bandage. his fingernails grazed your skin ever so lightly as he placed the bandage over your cut, his adam's apple bobbing when he saw your eyes set on his face through his peripherals. he could smell your lavender perfume from where he stood, pressing the bandage down into your skin, warming the skin with the heat of his palm. "done," he breathed, eyes looking back at you.
and suddenly, his hands fell at his sides as he focused on cleaning up again.
"what was that?" you couldn't help but ask, but he only shrugged in response.
"don't think about me too much, kitty."
"i should say the same to you," you said blankly, brows furrowing as you watched him clean up as though he hadn't just helped you patch up all your injuries.
you moved past him, making your way into your room and shutting the door behind you. you hid the photo of you and your father under some papers before unzipping your suit and pulling it off of you. the fabric moved over your wound, but you were careful enough that it add onto the pain. you put on a shirt and some shorts before walking out to your living room.
you bit back a comment when you saw the hero sitting criss-crossed on your living room floor with bitters on his lap and your white cat, junie, nudging herself under his hand as she purred. a genuine smile was on his face; he had a habit of pulling his lip under his teeth when he smiled.
"how're you feeling? you asked nonchalantly, making him look up towards you. you felt his eyes on you as you took out two glasses and poured water into both.
"fine, i guess."
"stop lying," you said over your shoulder, taking the two glasses and walking towards him. you held one glass out to him, looking at him pointedly. "i saw you after you went to check on them. something happened."
you were onto him. that was all ethan thought as he took the glass of water from your hand and looked down at your cats. your eyes were practically burning into his head as you waited for him to answer. you thought it was right; you gave him truth, now he should give you some in return. hell, you let him into your home.
taking a deep breath, he calmed down his rapidly beating heart. "i knew one of them, and they didn't make it. that's all." you could see him bite down on his lip as though he was stopping it from quivering, his eyes dead set on your cats despite your eye contact.
you didn't say anything for a minute, letting him relish in the quiet before you began talking again. "we'll find out who attacked them." no 'i'm sorry.' no condolences, because you were someone who hated hearing it from others. especially when your father died; mafia groups sent their condolences, sent their 'i'm sorrys' to the door of your past house as though they hadn't wanted him dead for years. you didn't like hearing it and your didn't like saying it.
the hero nodded, his brows coming down to furrow together. "we will." he stated. you had made a deal with him the night before, but that didn't truly feel like a deal. this one did; it walked a thin line between a deal and a promise.

Ringing.
That’s all you could hear as the pain in your ears never gave out. But that was all you could hear. Even your own whimpering fell deaf to you. There was only one thought on your mind; you needed Tara. She could make everything better. You don’t care if Sam’s at the apartment or not. You don't care if she arrested you on the spot. You just need Tara.
You swung through the pain, building to the building, until you saw Tara’s. You exhaled in relief when you spotted her lit up room through the window. Quickly, you swung to her firescape—nearly crashing against the window as you did so. Your tumbling let out a loud sound, getting Tara’s attention.
She rushed to her window, pushing it up, before she saw the state you were in. You were completely drained and it was clear. You were using the bit of the energy you had left to hold yourself up. Your suit was torn up, and your wounds were still fresh and visible. Tara’s eyes widened at the sight, but she quickly snapped out of it to bring you inside.
“Jesus, Y/N…”
You couldn’t even respond. You tried to, but you ended up groaning instead. “What the fuck happened?” Tara asked. It all sounded the same to you; muffled. Everything sounded muted.
She sat you down on her bed. You sucked in a breath, still extremely sore from your fight. She looked at you, trying to meet your eye line. That’s when she noticed you wouldn’t look at her. Tara raised her right hand to touch your face, she did it as gently as she could, but she made contact with your ear. You then flinch as you let out a hiss.
Tara immediately pulled her hand away. “I’m sorry…” She leaned in closer to look at your ear, she saw the angry bruising. The realization hit when she checked your other ear and she saw that it was just as bad, if not, worse.
“You can’t hear me?” Tara signed with furrowed eyebrows.
“No,” you signed back; you immediately averted your stare again.
With that answer, plenty of questions started racing through Tara’s mind. What did Dr. Connors do to you? When is your healing going to kick in? Will that even work for something this drastic? Are you scared?–
“You’re thinking loud,” you croaked; you finally got the courage to use the voice you suddenly lacked confidence in.
“Sorry,” Tara responded with an apologetic look.
“Just… be with me please?” You looked at her, eyes vulnerable. She looked at you, blinking, as a small reassuring smile grazed her face. She moved up the bed to lean against the pillow with you. On instinct, your head moved to rest on her shoulder. She cautiously snuck her hand up, once she was sure she wasn’t causing you any pain, she began to lightly scratch the back of your neck.
You snuggled closer to her, putting an arm over her waist. It wasn’t until a couple minutes later when everything came crashing down, when everything became so real. You just started crying. It started off slow, with a few tears escaping as you managed to hold some back, until you physically couldn’t hold back anymore. You must’ve started making noises, or maybe Tara noticed her shirt start to dampen, because she looked down at you.
At first, she wasn’t sure what to do. It was so sudden. It was also the first she was seeing you cry. In the end, she didn’t say anything, she just held you closer and placed a kiss on your temple as she continued to hold you in her arms. You couldn’t have asked for anything better.
—
You ended up staying the night, that wasn’t up for debate. You didn’t sleep as poorly as you could’ve in your condition. It shouldn’t be a shock at this point; you always found yourself sleeping better in Tara’s arms.
It was around eight when you were woken up by the sounds of shuffling. Sounds. You could hear again. Cool. You blinked your eyes open before looking at your surroundings. It didn’t take long for you to remember everything that happened. You looked over to see Tara putting on a hoodie.
“Morning,” you said in a raspy voice.
She got the hoodie on, pulling it all the way down as she turned to look at you. “Morning,” she reciprocated with a smile. Suddenly, she remembered the extent to your injuries and pointed to her own ear with a raised eyebrow.
“Oh—uh, yeah. I think I’m fine now,” you responded with a nod.
“Good. Today we’re relaxing.” She walked over to her mirror and grabbed her brush.
“What? No. Tara, I can’t ‘relax.’ I have a city to look after. Dr. Connors is still out there. And–”
Tara cut you off, slamming down her brush and turning to you with a glare. “–and look at what he did to you. The city isn’t going to collapse under itself if Spider-Woman takes a day to herself. You deserve it, Y/N.”
“But–”
“–The police will handle it.”
You looked down at your hands, contemplating your next move. You knew Tara wasn’t going to let up easily, if at all. Your only option is to listen to her.
“Fine,” you mumble.
“Fine. So… Do you want to talk about what happened?”
“What’s there to talk about? I got the shit beat out of me,” you let out a humorless chuckle.
“You couldn’t hear me. At all. What if I wasn’t here? What if he had taken your ability to walk—or in your case, swing? What would you do then? What if–”
You got up from her bed, taking her hands in yours as you cut her off. “Hey, hey, it’s okay. None of that happened, okay? I’m here, I’m with you, and in the end my healing kicked in. Don’t stress yourself over the what if’s.”
“You know I can’t help it,” Tara looked into your eyes. Her expression was so raw and genuine, you could feel your heartbeat pick up its pace as you looked into her eyes. You raised one of your hands to cup her cheek, the other still holding her hand.
“I know…” You leaned in, slowly to wait for her to reciprocate, which didn’t take long. She immediately caught your lips with hers. You both savored the moment as you both did with every shared moment you have with the other. You both hesitantly pull apart, your thumb gently brushing against her cheek as a small smile grazes your face.
“I’ll always come home, Tara.”
“You can’t promise that… No one can promise that.” You knew she was right.
“I’ll always fight a million times harder. I can at least promise you that.”
Tara let out a light sigh, leaning into your touch as you pulled her in with the hand that cupped her cheek. She didn’t fight it as she moved her arms to wrap themselves around your waist.
Everything is going to be okay, Tara thought to herself. It has to be…
—
Tara decided to make you breakfast that morning, as a way to start off your day of relaxation. It was perfect because Sam had an early shift, and she wouldn’t be home for a while.
When you got the okay, she finally let you out of her room—she wanted it to be a surprise—and led you to the kitchen. You were immediately hit with the smell of something burning, coffee, and something else you couldn’t quite place. But nevertheless, you still held a smile as she sat you down at the table.
She placed the plate in front of you; you looked down at it to find what looked to be pancakes, extra crispy turkey bacon, blackened toast, and a steaming cup of coffee not too far away. Tara was now sitting in the seat across from you as you looked at the food.
“These are… an interesting shape.” You push around the lumpy pancakes with your fork. Looked up at Tara who looked back with anticipation.
“Go on, try them,” she urged excitedly.
“Oh, now? Yeah—yeah sure.” You cleared your throat as you cut through the pancake after drowning it in syrup, before putting it in your mouth. You’re immediately hit with a sour bitterness, even through all the syrup you drenched it in. You look over and see Tara’s still looking at you contently, waiting for a response. You smile, mouth still full, and you still haven’t swallowed a single thing.
“Is so good,” you muffled the lie while chewing on the pancake. Is it—is it crunchy?
Tara groaned, rolling her eyes as she got up from her seat across from you.
“It’s terrible.”
“What? No, no, no, it’s not—uh, it’s just a little burnt. But you know I think that just brings out the… flavor? You know?” You harshly swallowed down more of the pancake, Tara only shook her head at your response as she took the plate in front of you.
“I’m just gonna make you a banana,” Tara sighed.
“You’re gonna make me a banana?” You questioned with raised eyebrows.
“I’m gonna make you a banana,” she rubbed your shoulder before walking away with the plates.
“She’s gonna make me a banana…” You murmur to yourself.
Tara ended up doordashing something edible for breakfast and you happily ate the banana while you waited for it. When the food came, the two of you settled in front of the TV. An hour in, you and Tara were lying on the couch, tangled with one another.
She had unintentionally trapped you with her legs while you wrapped one of your arms around her shoulders, the other arm's hand holding her own hand. This would seem uncomfortable to anybody else, but not to you and Tara.
The two of you made it work.
—
The day was slowly coming to an end, which Tara was dreading. She knew once the next day came, she would have no excuse to hold you captive any longer. Luckily, she convinced you to stay overnight. Usually, you would be hesitant about staying the night due to Sam. But since Sam was so busy she wouldn’t be back until morning, you had agreed. You also knew Tara wasn’t ready for you to return to your crime fighting, whether she said it out loud or not.
“Twister! We haven’t played Twister yet,” Tara exclaimed before walking over to her closet.
“Tara, I can not play Twister. I’m exhausted. Maybe another time?” Your tone was apoplectic and genuine, you could barely fight off your yawns anymore. She looked over to see you rubbing your eyes as you struggled to keep your eyelids up.
“No it’s okay. Let’s just get some sleep, yeah?”
“Sleep would be lovely,” you agreed in a drowsy voice. “I never thought my sleepiness could hit like this. It’s like a cement truck,” you murmur as you lazily get into bed.
“I think all those energy draining fights are finally catching up to you,” Tara responded as she got into bed with you. She helped you with the blanket, seeing as you could barely move your arms.
“Mmmm, that’ll do it.” The blanket now covers half your face, your eyes are closed as you begin to drift off to sleep. Tara leaned over, pressing a kiss on your temple before whispering goodnight.
She could get used to this.
—
What Tara wasn’t expecting was to be awoken at six in the morning to an alarm she did not in fact set. She groaned as she mindlessly waved and smacked her hands around in an attempt to shut up whatever was causing the blaring noise.
“Hey, watch it,” she heard you say. Now she let out a confused groan, reaching over to turn on her lamp.
She lifted herself up by her arms, then rubbed her eyes as she adjusted to the room’s lighting. It took a while to process what was going on as she looked around her room and at you, but once she did, she was not too happy.
“Y/N. Take that suit off.”
“Woah there. Don’t you think it’s a little too early for that?”
“You know what I mean. You can’t be serious!” She shouted in a hushed tone. “It’s—” She reached over for her phone to check the time, “—six! It’s six in the fucking morning. Go to bed.”
“Dr. Connors was spotted again. I can’t just let him run free. The police–”
“–The police will handle it. Go. To. Bed.”
You looked over at the opened window then to Tara. You sighed, mumbling something to yourself before moving towards Tara. “We’ll play Twister tonight. Promise.” You lean down to kiss her cheek before pulling down your mask.
“Y/N Y/M/N Y/L/N, don’t you dare jump out that—aaand she’s already gone.”
—
All you knew was that Dr. Connors, aka The Lizard, was going on another one of his rampages. This time, taking down a bridge full of cars with him. No doubt, those cars were full of people just trying to get to point B. You need to help them. That’s all you could think about on your way over to the bridge.
Once you got there, you noticed the mutant immediately. He wasn’t that hard to miss. “Incomiiiing!” You shouted as you swung down legs first in the direction of Dr. Connors. You kicked him down just as he threw a car off the bridge. You reacted quickly by shooting a web at the car while The Lizard was down. It hung from the edge as you secured the end of the string to the railing of the bridge.
So far, you were able to do that with every other car The Lizard used as a frisbee. You looked over at him, hearing his gowling from just a few feet away. His hand had already grown back after being crushed by one of the cars. Your eyes narrowed, ready to pounce. You had lost him, and to him, more than enough times. You weren’t going to let that happen again. That was until you heard the cries of a civilian, causing you to turn your head the other direction.
“Somebody help! Help me! My kid is trapped!” The father desperately shouted, looking around just as desperately in hopes his begging was heard by someone—anyone.
You suddenly heard stomps, causing you to turn your head back at Dr. Connors. He was running away, again. But catching him didn’t seem as important as it did just moments before. You didn’t have to think twice as you swung in the direction of the father.
You landed on the back of one of the hanging cars where you heard a screaming kid. You immediately ripped off the back window, throwing it to the side.
“Heeelp! Heeelp!” The boy screamed as he struggled in his seat.
“Hey, hey, hey, hey. Hey, buddy. It's okay. It’s alright,” you tried to reassure him but you realized you were only freaking him out more when he turned to look at you with wide eyes.
“Get away!” He was out of breath, swinging his arms around.
“Hey look!” You said as you pulled off your mask, holding out your arms in front of you; he stopped screaming.
“I’m just a normal person. Alright? You wanna hold this?” You asked, referring to your mask. When he nodded, you threw him your mask, “Hold on to my mask.” He looked down at the mask, his breathing began to calm down but his adrenaline was still high.
“What’s your name?” You look over to the duffle bag near him to see a name written. “Jack?”
“Yes…”
“Let’s get you out of here, Jack,” you said in a reassuring tone. “Stay very still,” you told him as you attempted to climb into the car.
“Alright,” he watched your every move as he continued to hold onto your mask.
“Okay, I got you.” You reach your arm over, wrapping it around his waist from behind his seat as carefully as you possibly could. “Okay now look, I’m gonna undo the belt. You’re gonna hold onto the backseat for me, okay? You ready?” You hand gripped the seatbelt, finger hovering over the red button.
When he nodded you began counting, “Okay, one…two…three,” you unbuckled his belt. He successfully landed on the steering wheel. “See how easy that was? You did a great job,” you chuckled in relief. His breathing was heavy as he nodded his head up and down, you knew he was still nervous and scared as hell.
Who wouldn’t be in this situation?
Just then, your senses go off. You can hear the sound of flames not too far from your ears; you turn your head to the direction of where the sound was coming from to see that the car is beginning to be consumed by fire. The heat causes the web, that the car was hanging by, to break.
You quickly shoot another web, hanging by it with a tight grip, as you’re now outside the car; you hold onto the end of the car as tightly as you can, ignoring the burning sensation in your forearm as you hear the little boy’s screams.
You groaned, trying to tighten your hold as much as you can without being forced to let go. You’re literally hanging by a thread. The car’s beginning to smoke as the flames spread further and further. You look directly at Jack through the opening.
“Jack, climb! Now!”
“I can’t!”
“Yes you can!” A separate piece of the car falls down in flames, meeting a watery death. You let out a grunt as the car grows heavier and heavier by the second. “Pu—put it on! That mask, it’s gonna make you strong!” Jack looked down at the mask; you see the slight skepticism on his face. “Jack, trust me. Just put it on!”
He finally gives in, putting the mask over his face. “There ya go! That’s it! That’s it, buddy! Okay, now climb! Come on Jack!” The part you held onto was beginning to loosen more and more from the car itself. You only had so much time before the whole thing took a swim.
He steadily began to climb up, grabbing onto the backs of the seats to do so.
“Do me a favor, a little faster! Okay bud? You’re doing great!” He was so close, he just needed to take a few more steps and you would be able to pull him up. But suddenly, the part you were holding onto broke loose within a blink of an eye. “No!” You shouted as the car started falling down.
You swiftly shot your web at him, pulling him from the car as it continued to fall down. By the time it hit the ocean, Jack was safely hanging by your web. You instantly looked down at the water in great relief before you started pulling him up to the bridge.
There his father was to greet him with a hug, holding on as tightly as he possibly could. You fully climbed onto the railing on your way back up, squatting on the railing as you looked at the father and son.
That’s when the man turned to you with a question, “Who are you?”
“I’m Spider-Woman,” you answered simply before swinging off.
—
“Of course that happens as soon as you leave my room,” Tara lightly shook her head, referring to the incident on the bridge. She was in your bedroom, changing into her pajamas as the two of you spoke. You convinced her to stay overnight at your place this time. She just told Sam she was staying at Mindy’s. A small, yet convincing, lie.
“Well, it’s a good thing I was there. I… if I wasn’t there… I don’t even wanna think about it,” you held a sorrowful tone as you murmured. Tara looked up as she heard the dread in your voice, beginning to walk over to you. You were sitting on your bed, leaning against the headboard, when she came up to you.
“Listen to me.” She was now straddling your waist, her hands cupped your jaw as your own hands rested on her hipline. “What you did? Was beyond incredible. You brought that kid back to his dad–”
“–I almost didn’t though. I was so close to losing him.” Your eyes look down to the side, the overwhelming feeling of what could have happened taking over you.
“Don’t stress yourself over the what if’s,” she softly lifted your face back up with her hands so your eyes could meet hers.
A smile started to slowly graze your face before you responded, “Did you just quote me?”
“Hey, your advice isn’t half-bad.” She reciprocated your smile; your face was less than inches apart, you both couldn’t help but glance at the other’s lips.
“Well thank you. Sometimes I need to hear it from someone else, especially if that someone's you,” you said truthfully; you brushed your thumb against her hip.
“Glad I could be helpful.”
“Now, didn’t I recall somebody wanting to play Twister?”
Tara giggled, shaking her head. “I wasn’t serious about that. I was just trying to see if I could hold you captive a little longer,” she confessed.
“Gasp! Nuh uh, no way,” you sarcastically responded.
“Whatever,” she rolled her eyes, her smile never faltering.
“What do you wanna do then?”
You and Tara spent the night making out, watching movies, and eating leftover pizza. You found yourselves tangled with one another, once again. You looked down at Tara’s face as the TV screen' light illuminated off of her face; you simply couldn’t look away.
She was the most beautiful being you have ever had the blessing of laying your eyes upon. Every time you looked into her eyes, stared at her longingly from across the room, hugged her, kissed her, heard her voice, or simply just thought of her—each was a reminder and reason.
You would protect Tara no matter the cost. You would die for her.
—
“I can’t believe you convinced me to do this… again.” You were carrying Tara on your back to your bedroom. Tara’s chin rested on your shoulder, her arms wrapped around your shoulders, and you held onto her legs, adjusting every now and then.
“Because you’re obsessed with me,” Tara remarked before placing a kiss to your neck that gave you shivers. You mumbled something under your breath. “What was that?”
“Nothing, dear!”
“Nice save.”
“I try,” you reply as you push your half opened bedroom door all the way open. Tara snuggled closer to you as you approached the bed. “Tara… you know you actually have to get off my back in order to get into bed, right?”
“Ugh, sooo tired,” she murmured with half-lid eyes.
“Just loosen your arms a bit for me, hun. I’ll just throw—” You glance over at Tara and see her wearing a scowl; maybe you should choose your next words more carefully. “—gently place you on the bed.”
“Fine,” she said in a muffled tone—the lower part of her face now resting on your shoulder.
You felt her loosen her arms before you did as you said you would; you gently place her down on the bed, putting a pillow behind her head and then the blanket over her. You began to walk away to change into your pajamas, but stopped when you felt a tug on your sleeve.
“Don’t go,” Tara said in a sleepy voice.
“I’m still here, just changing into some new clothes. I’m not going anywhere, okay?” After a few seconds, you got a nod from her. You placed a kiss on her cheek before you turned to change; you decided to move your clothes over to change a little closer to where Tara’s resting. It wouldn’t hurt to stay close.
Once you changed into a pair of sweatpants and a tank top, you crawled into bed with Tara and pulled some of the blanket over you. Almost as soon as you got into bed, Tara turned around to face you; her eyes were still closed as she got closer and rested her head on your chest, putting an arm over your stomach. You accepted her embrace, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. You held each other closely through the night.
Tara's warm embrace was more than enough to get you through said night.

Lovely Tattoos (Drabble)
Pairing: Tara Carpenter x Tattooed!Reader (GN)
Summary: Tara loves your tattoos and all that comes with them.
Warrnings: None i think
Author's Note: Damn it feels like a lifetime since I've posted a fic, but heres a little drabble if you can even call it that. I promise I'm writing so hopefully you'll see some longer fics coming soon. October just kicked my ass (none of you told me turning 21 was gonna hit me so hard) and I'm just now finishing my recovery (with a big fuck you to my sciatic nerve and broken foot 🖕). There is a specific tattoo mentioned, just let me have a litte self indulgence k? 🩵
Word Count: 316 (she's tiny)
___________
Tara loves your tattoos, from the bigger ones on your back to the many patchwork tattoos across your arms and thighs. She loves them, they’re a part of you, and it’s you that she loves the most.
She loves the way you’ll stay in bed a few hours longer if she traces the ones on your back. She loves that you both calm down when she traces the Miles Morales spider on your inner wrist.
She loves that you’ve been packing markers in your bag for her and Mindy to color them in during any classes that didn’t solely focus on film making. She loves how excited you get when you see a child is interested in some of the more colorful ones. Always willing to take the time to let them inspect the vibrant art.
She loves, though this one she’s a little more hesitant to admit, but she loves the matching tattoo you have with Chad. She rolls her eyes but she loves when the pair of you make it your mission to get the tattoos in every photo you take together.
She loves the many tattoos that didn’t have any meaning to them until you had the experience of getting them. Remembering the time you drunkenly let Anika tattoo a doodle of Tara’s on the side of your rib. She loved when Sam got her first tattoo, you not only packed a bag for her during the tattoo with snacks but you also made a little care package for after.
She loves that when she got her own tattoo on her wrist, you held her other hand throughout the process. She loves that you’ve started a new routine of rubbing sunscreen on her wrist to protect it. She loves how excited you get when she says you should get a matching tattoo with her.
She loves you, your tattoos and everything that entails.
#tara carpenter x reader#tara carpenter#jenna ortega#the ending is meh#but i really just wanted to add to the thought of tara really loving a tattooed partner#you can't tell me she wouldn't find comfort in tracing tattoos dude#theres some things i just added right before posting this so if some is off well...#fics by the gay#it feels like every time I post something I wanna just say idk man#and send it

It’s ok to be afraid of something.
Tara Carpenter x Fem Reader
It was a slightly cool day in New York City. You just woke up to a wonderful smell in the kitchen.
“Looks like Tara is making breakfast” you said, getting out of bed to thank your girlfriend.
You felt a warm feeling in your heart knowing that Tara is living with you in your shared apartment and the one you wake up with everyday.
You certainly have come a long way considering how must distrust and dislike Sam had towards you despite the twins and Anika adoring you.
Hell it took a lot of dinners and convincing from Tara for the older sibling to finally say yes to her moving in with you.
In the end, it was all worth it.
You made your way into the kitchen as Tara was finishing the second omelet and last bits of bacon. “Hi baby, did you sleep well?” You asked, kissing your girlfriend on the head while gathering the used pans and placing them in the sink.
She smiled saying yes but pouted a little bit
“Y/N! I was trying to surprise you with a breakfast in bed.” She said, playfully pushing you. You laughed “Kinda hard for it to be a surprise when your five star cooking always gets me up!
Also, you know how I feel when we eat in bed. I still feel crumbs in the sheets to this day.”
Tara scoffed “That’s because you eat like a child. Didn’t I have to wipe your mouth one time because you couldn’t be bothered to do it?”
You shrugged, grinning “Hey like I said. Five star cooking.”
Tara kissed your cheek “Since you’re up Y/N, you can help me set the plates up in the dining room.” You nodded and took the filled plates to the table. Tara came by and sat next to you but before you could eat, you got up
“Where are you going?” Tara asked
“I’m going to wash my hands real quick. One must have clean hands before eating.” You said heading to the bathroom, hearing Tara say from across the hall “just use utensils or a napkin”
After drying your hands from the water, you hear a scratching noise coming from the corner of the bathroom. You sighed, hoping those mice aren’t back as your messy neighbors from upstairs always had that issue. Self explanatory.
It wasn’t mice this time but your encounter didn’t stop you from screaming, running out of the bathroom over to your girlfriend.
Tara was pouring orange juice into your cup and almost spilled it when she heard your scream. “Baby! What’s wrong?” She said as you ducked behind her.
Your nerves were still shot but you managed to speak “I-I saw a spider in the bathroom…I-” She put her hand on your chest, feeling your rapid heart beat.
“Shh. It’s ok” she said sliding her flip flops on “Where is it?” When you told her where, you followed her behind.
Lucky the spider hasn’t moved from where it was
“Right there Tara, see!” You said pointing at the spot “I’m really sorry for having to put you in this situation, I know how big it is-“
Your lover simply walked up to the insect and squished it before it could escape. You were shocked yet amazed at the same time.
Although you couldn’t help but feel ashamed that you had to ask your girlfriend to do what you could have done in the first place, especially since you were Sam’s height and just as strong as her.
You never felt more ashamed in your life (well except for that one time you forgot to lock the door and Sam walked in on you guys doing it)
“Y/N. What’s wrong? I already took care of the creepy crawly.” Tara said as she cleaned up the mess.
You couldn’t bring yourself to look at Tara
“I guess I’m just a little embarrassed love. I mean I’m supposed to be this girl who’s the same height as Sam and built too but here I am being afraid of a little insect and asking you to kill it for me.” You said a bit annoyed.
Tara walked up to you, cupping your cheek “Baby, it’s ok to be afraid of something. No matter how tall or strong you are.”
You felt a sense of gratitude “but-“ she put a finger on your lips “No buts, I will always love you no matter what you fear or the flaws you have.”
You smiled
“That’s easy for you to say my little knight in shining armor. Not scared of any insects and all.”
She shrugged “Well, don’t expect me to take care of any mice Y/N. I’ll be up on that table faster than sonic.”
You laughed, putting an arm around Tara’s waist. “Don’t worry love, I’ll handle that. After all I’ll always love you no matter what you fear.”
Tara playfully tapped you before pulling you into a kiss. You both melted into each other’s touch before letting your tongues meet. You stayed that way before pulling away for air. “Let’s go finish our breakfast before it gets cold, you know it’s too early for dessert” Tara said taking your hand.
You smiled and shook your head, knowing how lucky you are to have found a brave and loyal woman.

Some kind of secrets tonight
Tara Carpenter X Male Reader
Summary- Tara finds out that R is Spiderman.
You are laying down next to Tara. You went to her place to spend time with her, you two finally have some alone time. You gently touch her hand with the scar, she hates her scars.
“Wish, my scars can just disappear,” Tara said.
You have scars but you lied to her about how you got it.
“I still find you attractive with the scars, Tara,” You said.
“Don’t lie to me, Y/n” Tara said.
“I’m not lying,” You said.
“Let's talk about something else,” Tara said.
“Okay, sure,” You said.
She moved closer to you and you put your arm around her body.
“My sister wants to meet you,” Tara said.
“Oh, that sounds serious,” You said.
“She won't stop bugging me until she meets you. So tomorrow you better show up” Tara said.
“So bossy” You teased.
“Shut up” Tara smiled.
You start to kiss her and she put her hand on your cheek, she starts to kiss you back then she smiled.
--
Tara told you to meet her at Sam’s apartment at 7 pm.
“Your boyfriend is late,” Sam said.
Tara just sent you a text but you didn't reply back.
“He will be here,” Tara said.
“Well, he is an hour late. Does he really make you happy?” Sam asked.
“He does. I told him how I got the scars and he said that he still likes me” Tara said.
“I can't believe you told him,” Sam said.
“I didn't want to hide secrets from him. I know he is late and he promised to come early. He isn't replying back to my texts” Tara said.
You were heading to Sam’s apartment but trouble happened. Someone was being mugged then you stop a bank robbery, then help a kid find his parents. With all that going on, it got late and you are three hours late.
“Where the hell have you been!?” Tara yelled.
“It's hard to explain. I tried to make it on time but-” You tried to explain.
“Explain what?” Sam asked.
“I-I... Well, I got lost on the way here” You lied.
“You have Uber on your phone. You have the address” Tara said.
She is glaring at you.
“I-I. I'm sorry, I really tried to make it on time, I swear but I-” You said.
“Don’t lie, Y/n” Tara said.
“I’m sorry for coming late,” You said
“Why you didn't text my sister back? She texted you many times and she called you. Were you with someone else?” Sam said.
“Woah! I'm not a cheater. And I will never cheat on Tara. I was just late because I got lost!” You said.
You start to argue with Sam and Tara. You are still lying that you got lost, but they can see that you are lying about it. Tara won't stop glaring at you and you keep apologizing.
A few days later... Tara is still ignoring you. You went to see her at her apartment but she isn't happy.
“What do you want, Y/n?” Tara said.
“Are you still mad at me? I got you flowers and your favorite snacks” You said.
“Just because you got flowers and my favorite snacks, doesn't mean I forgive you,” Tara said.
“I was just late,” You said.
“Y/N, you were three hours late. It was very important to me because I wanted my sister to meet my boyfriend but... But it seemed you didn't care enough” Tara said
Before you can say something, she closed the door on you. You sighed then you put the items on the ground.
“The stuff is on the floor!” You yelled.
You walked away then seconds later she grabbed the stuff. You want to give her space, so all day you didn't text or call her. But Tara does check her phone to see if you texted back or thinks should she text you back.
Later, Sam went to check up on Tara. They are watching tv and the news is on, they are just going through the channels then Sam stopped.
“I keep seeing this random guy on tv. I think his name is spider boy” Sam said.
“His name is Spider man. I like that he is saving people” Tara said.
“I don't like him,” Sam said.
“Why?” Tara asked.
“I just don't like him. Wanna go out with the others? They are going to a bar” Sam said.
“Sure,” Tara said.
✬ ✬ ✬ ✬
Tara still hasn't spoken to you but you did send her a text. She did call you then you heard screams in the background, Tara didn't have to explain or tell you where she is. You go on your phone and you start to track her phone, but you did call her but someone picked up.
“It's good to finally meet you Y/n. But your girlfriend is busy bleeding out on the floor” Ghostface said.
“I’m going to make you suffer,” You said.
“You are pathetic just like her and Sam” Ghostface said.
Ghost Face hangs up and you rushed to put on the suit. Sam and Tara managed to escape from Ghostface, they run towards a bodega and get on the ground to hide from Ghostface. But Ghostface takes the gun away from the owner and then killed the owner. But there is glass on the floor and they are trying not to make any noise. Ghostface has a shotgun and starts to shoot to scare them.
Tara starts to cry and Sam stays close to her sister, Ghostface pulled the trigger again. You find the bodega then with full force, you kicked the window and hit Ghostface then two hit the ground. But you managed to jump back up, Sam and Tara heard the sound. You run towards them
“Sam and Tara, are you two okay?” You asked.
You noticed they are covered in blood, but know if it's theirs or someone else.
“How did you know our names?” Tara asked.
You start to stutter. You see that Ghostface got up, then you start to fight Ghostface. You punched Ghostface in the face then tackled him to the ground. You and Ghostface get up then you used your webs to tie his hands, then you head-butt him in the face. Again, you run towards Sam and Tara.
“Tara and Sam, go to the hospital, it's not safe here,” You said.
“Behind you!” Tara yelled.
But your spider tingles went up. You turned around and punched Ghostface in the stomach, then Ghostface managed to stab you in the stomach. He pushed the knife deeper and you yelled, blood starts to come out fast. You grabbed his wrist and snapped it in half now he starts to scream in pain.
The cops ran into the store with their guns out. You used your webs on Ghostface’s ankles so he won't escape. You run through the back door, Tara starts to follow you but you didn't notice then Sam followed her sister. You take off your mask and you rest your arm on the brick wall.
“Y/n?” Tara said in shock.
“Wait, you are Spiderman,” Sam said.
“It's a long story. I'm sorry” You said.
Tara didn't know what to say.
“What the fuck” Tara said.
More cops started to arrive, you put your mask back on then you used your web to get to the roof. Tara is speechless and Sam starts to ask questions which Tara doesn't have the answers.
---
Tara went to your place and you are surprised to see her. She pushed you but she didn't push you too hard.
“Why you didn't tell me!?” Tara asked.
“I tried to tell you but I didn't know how or when. I'm sorry, Tara” You said.
“You didn't trust me? I told you everything about my life and my scars” Tara said.
“I do trust you. I was... I just didn't know how to tell you. I wanted to tell you so badly, but my feelings for you are real since the beginning” You said.
“Y/n... I can't believe you are really Spiderman” Tara said.
“I don't want to break up with you. Do you still feel the same way?” You said
She grabbed your shirt and pulled you into a kiss. You start to kiss her back then you smiled.
“There is your answer” Tara smiled.
“Tell me again?” You smiled back.
“Dork. How’s your stomach?” Tara said.
You pull your shirt halfway up.
“I got stitches,” You said.
“From who? A doctor ladybug?” Tara said.
“Was that a bug pun?” You asked.
“Yeah, since you are Spiderman,” Tara said.
“That was corny. But his name is Doctor Strange” You said.
“Stupid name. So, do you have any other powers?” Tara said.
You start to give her a list of your powers.
“And the last one, I can walk on the ceiling,” You said.
“No way, I don't believe you,” Tara said.
“I will show you,” You said.
You start to walk on the wall and then onto the ceiling. She looks up and you smiled at her.
“See? I'm not lying” You said.
“Wow... Y/n-” Tara starts to stutter.
You used your web to go down upside down.
“So... What do you think?” You asked.
She kissed you on the lips.
“That is impressive, Y/n” Tara smiled.
“Please don't tell anyone,” You said.
“I promise, Sam, and I won't tell anyone that you are Spiderman,” Tara said.
“I believe you, Tara. Do you want to walk on the ceiling?” You said.
“Yeah!” Tara smiled.
You get down and land on your feet. You put your arm around her waist and she put her arms around your shoulders. You start to walk and she is holding onto you for dear life.
“I won't let go,” You said.
“You better not let go! This is cool and scary at the same time” Tara said.
Now, you and Tara are on the ceiling. Her grip on you is very hard and she is choking you with her arms.
“You are choking me,” You said.
“Get me down now, Y/n,” Tara said.
You get down and gently let go of her.
“You are okay?” You asked.
“That was freaky,” Tara said.
Later, you spend time with Tara by watching a movie together. During the movie, you and Tara started kissing each other, she starts to smile. Later, you showed her suit and then sketches of your new suits. She started to ask questions about the new suits.

*you could hear her laughter in video and tara yelling “don’t just stand there🤬!!!! HELP-“ before falling into the lake*
Everyone was about to ask what happen seeing her completely drench and leaves in her hair but she like “😑 don’t ask” while Mindy was in the floor dying of laughter and show them the video
But for some reason this dog is strangely attach to Tara and choosing to stay by her side. In a cute moment imagine tara having a nightmare then the dog trying to show comfort to her. And she sleep hugging his head🥺. They all start warming up to the dog*
That until a girl appears with a flyer and is like “hi I believe you found my dog” and tara is flustered at seeing this girl
Fast forward when Ghostface show up ay tara and Sam apartment *it backfires because they werent expecting a dog nor r to be there. R just look at her dog “sic them boy” 👹😈
so in a way, everyone who isn’t ghostface survives. Anika deserve to live damn it!!!!Everyone looking at the dog and praising him because he’s a good boy 🐶
In my head I can imagine Quinn calling Ethan “😨😨😨abort mission!!!!! I repeat abort mission!!!!!!”
*Because their dad got badly mauled by the dog and they don’t want to risk getting caught without a plan but yk dogs are a great judge of character and can sense a bad person and he never like Ethan, Quinn or her dad, always snarling and nipping at them*
R would even question if Quinn was truly dead because her dog kept growling at her when they put her in a body bag. Like how the hell didn’t you notice ghostface in your room? She would trust her dogs more than people. They have a closer bond with r
In my mind I was thinking “it’s bad enough/embarrassing that ghostface getting beaten/outsmarted by the main protagonists, imagine them being defeated by a dog” and this was inspired by the Spider-Man miles morales game. In the game there a side quest and if you complete it you can fight crime with a cat as a sidekick and the bad guy getting his ass handle by Spider-Man then you see a cat come out of his backpack. Imagine that same guy in jail and everyone asking how you got beaten by Spider-Man and question you why you have claw marks on your face 👀👀
That’s my dog

*disclaimer: changed storyline*
Word count: a lot
“Naww, look at him. He’s so cute” Mindy yelled as she saw a dog sitting in front of Sams and Tara’s apartment. The dogs ears perked as soon as he heard the voice talking to him, looking at the group of four.
“That dog is giant” Chad said taking a small step back causing Tara to laugh. Sam kept quiet for a moment while Mindy decided to walk up to the dog, much to the groups dismay. There were several calls for her to stop but she obviously didn’t.
“Look guys, he’s somebodies. He has a collar but the tag is broken. We should take him in” she said as she crouched down in front of the dog to be eye level with him.
“Mindy, no. Who knows what he’s capable of and if somebody owns him they can’t find him in our apartment” Sam argued while Tara made her way to look around the corner, trying to see if there was somebody looking for a dog. The moment Tara walked past the corner forward the corner tho dog stood up and followed her. A relieved sigh left Chad and Sam as they thought that he was going to leave. But instead, he stood behind Tara, scaring the poor girl when she turned around.
“Sam, there’s a storm tonight. We can’t leave him outside! Come on have a heart” Mindy argued as she watched the dog look up at Tara. There was a moment of silence before Sam nodded, a small one but a nod nonetheless. A squeal left Mindy as she clapped and called the dog over who happily strutted next to her, following her upstairs into the apartment. “Ok, maybe he’s a bit big for the apartment but you know” Mindy grinned sheepishly as the dog accidentally threw down some books.
“Mindy, Tara, you guys upload some pics online, on social media, maybe somebody recognizes him while Chad and I print out some flyers and hang them up around here. Make sure he doesn’t destroy anything” Sam ordered after taking some pictures of the dog, including his collar and the half of the tag that was still attached. Uploading pictures takes way less time then printing flyers and hanging them up, so Mindy and Tara were on dog duty. Which, to be honest, wasn’t as hard as they thought it’d be, the dog was well trained and nice.
Around evening he started to scratch on the front door, whining while doing so. After a bit of a discussion the group decided that the dog had to go outside and that whoever drew the shortest stick would have to take him.
“Come on guys, this is Ridiculous. Mindy wanted us to take him in, so she should have to go with him!” Tara complained after it turned out that she lost. The dog was massive and while he looked nice and seemed to be friendly she was sure that he wouldn’t even feel her holding the leash.
“You lost Tara, fair and square. But due to the fact that I’m the nicest person ever, I will come down with you” the brunette explained, a proud smile on her face as she opened the door for Tara. The first few minutes were fine, the dog immediately sniffed the side of the building to pee. “Let’s go to the park a bit” Mindy said and took off.
It took one second of Tara being distracted for the dog to see something an start running towards it growling. Even when Tara tried to pull him back with her whole body weight it was useless, he pulled her along. She was stumbling over her own legs, screaming at the dog and Mindy to do anything. But Mindy was only laughing and, unknown to Tara, filming the whole thing.
“HEY!HEY NOOO” the small brunette screamed when she saw a small pond in front of her, small enough for the dog to jump over it but for her? It took one last step for her to land face forward in the water, letting go of the belt they used as a leash when she touched the ground underneath the water. She could still hear Mindy wheezing and the dog barking as she stood up, water dripping from everywhere. The moment she stood the dog was back at her side nuzzling his head into her wet hand.
“You’re an idiot, we Are going back Home” she scolded the dog as she picked up the “leash” again pulling him past her friend, glaring at her. “And you, you’re the worst” she growled as she walked past her, hitting her shoulder and walking back to the apartment.
Even Sam and Chad couldn’t hide their laughter when they saw a completely dripping Tara walk into the room, unclipping the belt and walking towards her bathroom. Even without the leash the dog quickly followed Tara, never leaving her sight. Save to say that Tara wasn’t really in the mood to socialize anymore and it was rather late anyway, so she decided to settle on the bed with a book. She was silently enjoying her book when suddenly the other half of her bed dipped down, the dog climbing on top, taking up so much space that she nearly fell of the edge.
“Bro, I think you’ve got something twisted. Get off the bed” she scolded him lightly pointing at the ground. The dog just happily panted when she tried to push him off, barely scootching away. There was no point in trying to pick him up so she decided to settle on the small part of the bed that he hasn’t conquered yet, turning off the lights to sleep.
His panting annoyed her, he smelled like dog and he was constantly watching her which made it hard for her to fall asleep but at one point the tiredness of the day did get her and she fell asleep facing the dog.
The next day when she woke up the dog was in front of her, curled up leaning on her stomach. He was still sleeping until she moved to get out of bed, he was immediately following her. Everything was fine until Quinn came to close to Tara making him fletch his teeth and bark causing the redhead to jump away and Tara to pull him away.
There was a bit of silence but in the end everybody decided that it was probably just a coincidence and kept doing whatever they were doing. Anika had brought over some food, a leash and some toys as they didn’t know how long the dog would stay.
It was afternoon when everybody, except Quinn and Ethan had warmed up to the dog, they called him Freddy after Freddy Krueger, which was Mindys idea. The group was sitting on the couch watching TV, Freddy sat on Tara’s feet with his head on sams leg who scratched his head. It was nice, Sam and Tara walked the last round with him at night, he stopped pulling the leash and didn’t even move away from the two.
At night time he slept with Tara again but this time he decided to settle in front of the bed. The brunette fell asleep with one of her arms out of the bed to scratch the giant dog. Sometime during the night she started to turn and twist, a whimper leaving her mouth making Freddy wake up. He quickly climbed onto the bed with his first two feet and nudged her until she woke up. Tears were streaming down her face and her breathing was quick and shallow. While she tried to calm herself down Freddy laid his head onto her stomach, licking her hand closest to him, trying his best to comfort her. A small smile came onto her lips as she rolled onto her side and hugged his head, leaving a kiss on top as she fell back asleep.
The next morning she woke up to somebody hammering on her front door. “T, wake up. Somebody is coming for the dog” Sam called out, knocking one last time before she heard Tara grumble. The moment she stepped out of her room, finally dressed and ready for the day, there was a knock on the door. Freddy immediately ran to the door, his tail waggling from left to right as if he knew who was on the other side.
“Hi, I believe you found my dog” you said as soon as the door opened. The mastiff quickly running to you, nearly throwing you over when he body checked you, making you giggle. Tara just stared at you for a moment, her cheeks coated in a light blush before she looked down at her feet to hide it.
“uhm, yeah. We found him two days ago, he sat in front of our apartment and due to the storm we didn’t wanna leave him outside” she explained, smiling at the sight in front of her before taking a deep breath. “Do you wanna come inside for a bit?” She asked, already taking a step further away so you could see into the apartment.
You gave her a nod and made your way into the apartment. “Come on Dook” you called out to the dog who was still standing on the other side of the door. He quickly made his way towards you.
“Dook?” Tara asked as you settled down on the couch, the dog between you two. You chuckled lightly as you petted his head before turning to her.
“Well, yeah. The Babadook is my favorite horror film but I didn’t wanna call him Babadook, that would have freaked me out on the long run so I decided to call him Dook. It’s weird I know” you mumbled the last part as you uncomfortably scratched the back of your neck but the pretty girl next to you only chuckled before turning further to you.
“No, it’s actually pretty awesome. The Babadook is such a great movie and the name Dook is pretty cute actually” Tara said smiling at you.
“Yo, I’m Mindy and that’s my twin brother Chad” the brunette introduced, waving at you.
“Hey, I’m y/n and this is Dook but you’ve already met him huh” you grinned as you waved back.
“How did he get lost anyway?” Sam, who you’ve already met, asked as she sat on an armchair next to the couch.
“My stupid brother was supposed to look after him while I was out of state but he lost him 5 hours after I’ve been gone and didn’t tell me” you explained, an annoyed look on your face. They giggled at your eye roll before taking off.
After a small while you’ve decided to go too, much work to do just like emptying your suitcase from your trip. “It was really nice to meet you, you are a great person. And thanks again for looking after Dook” you bid as a goodbye, a smile grazing your features as you looked at Tara.
“Well, If you ever wanna come over and watch the Babadook together, I wouldn’t say no” she smiled at you and took your hand in hers, writing her number on your hand.
“Naww, Tara is in loooovvveeee” Mindy sang from the kitchen.
Ever since then you and Tara have been inseparable. Everywhere the core four was you were too, even at that frat party and the dinner later. Sam trusted you and Dook, Mindy and Chad thought you were pretty cool, Anika loved your style and taste, Ethan didn’t like you because he was scared of the dog and Quinn was constantly flirting with you.
“I knew you were sleeping with cute boy” Tara laughed out, leaning on your shoulder. A giggle leaving you too as you watched the group, Dook laying on your and Tara’s feet. Just as Sam was about to say something all your phones dinged, Dook suddenly jumping up.
“Shit” Sam cursed out, all of you jumping up. It wasn’t long ago that the siblings told you about what had happened to them in their hometown. Everybody, except Tara ran to get further away from the door, so you quickly grabbed her and pulled her to you. Dook standing in front of you barking and snarling at the door.
“Get out of here” you screamed at them, trying to push them away but before anyone could move the door opened and a dead Quinn fell on top of Anika throwing her to the ground. Dook, just as he was trained, stood beside you, barking at the intruder but not moving. You were frozen for a moment, overwhelmed with the situation until you heard Anika groan and Tara call your name. “Dook, sic them boy” you looked down at the dog who immediately took off attacking the costumed person who was currently trying to Stab Anika. The 32” tall dog jumped against him throwing him off of her, Sam immediately pulling her away and pushing her into Mindys arms.
By now Dook had pushed the intruder into the corner furthers away, Chad and Tara were gone while Sam and Mindy helped Anika into the bedroom, where Danny was waiting for them with a ladder. You knew that you had to fight him off until the police showed up because you wouldn’t take the ladder and leave dook behind.
You were slowly backing up into the bedroom, “Dook, attack”. The moment the words left your mouth he didn’t just bark anymore but was about to charge at him full speed, making the ghostface run outside forward the police sirens. So you called him back to you, deciding to not put him into further danger. You sat on the ground with him, petting his head and kissing the top of his head as you praised him, thankful that nothing had happened to him.
“Are you alright?” You quickly asked Tara when you came outside, the dog running to her and licking her hand.
“Yeah, I’m good. I’m sorry I left you up there, I-I” she started to stutter, her eyes becoming glossy as she looked around. You decided to interrupt her.
“Hey, it’s alright. I told you to go, after all I had Dook. It’s okay, we’ll get thru this. We are here for you” you told her as you hugged her, her head resting on your chest, tears leaking through your shirt making your heart break. An elder man came into sight making Tara pull away and excuse herself, Dook snarling at him. “Dook, psst” you scolded and made him come along as you went to talk to Sam.
“Sam, can we talk for a second?” You asked, pulling her away from Danny. It’s not that you didn’t like him or didn’t trust him but you didn’t wanna Worry anybody if not necessary. “I think it has to be someone we know, someone I know too” Sam thought for a moment being totally quiet.
“What are you on about y/n?” She asked slightly annoyed and scared, making you sigh.
“Dook was quiet the whole time, if somebody came in or had already been inside he would have barked or something but he didn’t. Which means he knew whoever was inside“ the explanation made sense and it made sams stomach hurt too. She had prayed that this wasn’t going to happen again, that her sister could now lead a normal life.
“I hate the fact that what you just said made sense” she groaned, looking around to check her environment. You just gave her a tight lipped smile and a pat on the arm. It was hard to comfort Sam, at least as a human, because as soon as Dook stood in front of her nudging her hand she knelt down and patted him, thanking him for Saving them.
You left the mastiff with Sam as you made your way to Tara, Mindy, Anika and Chad. The boy stood infront of his sister, eyes sad as he watched her taped arm. The girls other arm was wrapped around her girlfriend who was also patched up, a lot more than Mindy. You wished you could go up to that like Tara, the weird tension between you two kills you and the fact that there seemed to be some kind of tension with Chad too made it even weirder. So instead of standing between them you settled down between Anika’s legs, she had become a great friend of yours, maybe even your best. You guys were extremely comfortable with each other and could tell the other everything, she knew of your feelings for Tara and you knew of her fear of abandonment. When you settled down, Anika rested her arms on top of your shoulders, keeping you close trying to give both of you some comfort.
Just as you settled down, Ethan came around the corner confused about what had happened. “You” Chad screamed taking by the collar and throwing him against another ambulance. “Where the fuck were you? You’re not with us and suddenly my sister almost dies” he screamed, lifting him away from the car just to push him against it again.
“Chad, I had Econ, you know that. You can ask all the other students” the boy pleaded, kinda stuttering. But he didn’t struggle against chads hold, not that it’d do anything anyway. You decided to step in, not because you were a hundred percent convinced that Ethan was innocent but because this wouldn’t lead to anything.
“Come on, let him go. Econ would be a stupid excuse to use, he wouldn’t be able to get everybody to lie for him so let him go Chad” you explained, laying a hand on his shoulder to kind of push him back a bit. He didn’t immediately let him go but when you squeezed his shoulder he folded and let the boy down, disappearing to his sister. The moment you stepped closer to the boy Dook was at your side, snarling at him almost making you chuckle at the way the boy backed up. “I hope you learned a lot at Econ”.
*later that night*
“How didn’t you even kill one fucking person?” Wayne screamed at his kids, the vein on his forehead popping out. He kept walking back and forth as he scolded them.
“How was I supposed to know that y/n and the dog would be there? That thing would have killed me if I would have stepped closer” Ethan whined, holding his arm where Dook had bitten him. He had always been afraid of that monster.
“Ethan is right dad, that dog is massive and dangerous” Quinn said trying to support her brother. Her hair wet from the shower to get rid of all the fake blood she was covered in.
“Well we need a new plan” he mumbled.
———————————————————————————
“Y/n, Anika, this is Gale and this is Kirby” Sam introduced you. Kirby was closest to you so you shook her hand first before going to Gale but stopping shortly before your hands touch.
“Uff, that’s one hell of a bruise, what did ya do?” You asked pointing to her left side under the eye. You couldn’t help but be suspicious of somebody you didn’t know. Especially with the way Dook stood in front of you instead of how he normally stood next to you.
She sighed and looked at Tara before speaking up. “Tara hit me because I did something I told them I wouldn’t do” she explained making your mouth open in shock. You turned to Tara with your mouth still open.
“You did that?” You asked her still shocked with your eyebrows raised. She timidly nodded at you making you grin and raise your hand for a high five before wrapping your arm around her shoulder and pulling her into you. “Damn girl, nicely done” you told her, clearly proud of the fact that she was protecting herself.
Seeing that made Sam smile too, her head slightly turned to the side as she watched you two. Her sister was happily giggling into your chest, her cheeks slightly red and her eyes lit up while you grinned down at her, your eyes were full with love and admiration. As a bigger sister, she was happy that you could protect her and loved the fact that she could protect herself.
When everybody started to follow Gale to whatever she wanted to show you, you fell behind due to the fact that Dook was still a dog, wanting to mark like every corner. As soon as Tara noticed she left Chad and fell behind too, walking with you in silence. Everybody was already going inside when you two rounded the corner. “You alright?” You asked her as she stood in front of the door, suddenly not moving anymore.
“Yeah, I’m just, I don’t know” she mumbled out looking at her feet as her hands messed with the fabric of her shirt. She looked even smaller than normal.
“It’s going to be okay, I’m here for you” you told her with a comforting smile before you gave her a nod as a start sign. Just as you were about to go inside a hand slid down your arm into the pocket of your trouser where it found yours making you tense for a second. You pulled both of your hands out of the pocket and intertwined them before carefully pulling her along. The place was full of old ghost face things, masks, robes, a TV and more. Tara suddenly stopped at one Vitrine, her mood dropping before her hand suddenly let go of yours.
“I-I need a second” she mumbled and walked off towards Sam. You heard them fight before Tara stormed off, alone. “Dookie, follow Tara. Go” you told the dog who ran off to follow her making you smile a bit. You felt more comfortable when somebody was there to protect her and when you saw a Kirby follow her too you decided to keep roaming the place, finding Mindy and Anika.
After some time and some explanation from Mindy, Kirby found you. “You should go to Tara” she told you with a tight lipped smile. You were about to go when she spoke up again, “very cute dog by the way” you grinned at her before walking off to find Tara.
The moment you turned the corner she was on you, her arms wrapped around your neck as she stood on her tippy toes and pressed her lips against yours. You needed a second and even though you wanted to kiss her back with every bit you carefully pushed her away. She immediately started to stutter when her lips detached from yours. “I’m sorry, it’s just- this is a hard time for you and I don’t want you to regret anything” you told her as your hands caressed her waist in a comforting manner.
She smiled at you, her hands playing with the baby hair at the back of your neck. “I won’t. Come on, I still gotta tell you something” her hand slipped in yours as she pulled you to sit down on a step and then she told you about Amber. About how they were always flirting and how there was this tension that was between you too, and how she then killed her friends and how she sometimes thinks that if she had made a move Amber maybe wouldn’t have went crazy and that she wouldn’t have lost her best friend. She didn’t wanna make the same mistake again and she didn’t wanna lose somebody because she was scared of living. “Kirby opened my eyes. Just because Amber was crazy doesn’t mean you are crazy too right? We can live a happy life together and love each other even though the thing with Amber fucked me up right?” Her eyes were teary which made your heart break.
“We will live the happiest lives ever, after we caught that motherfucker” you said making her giggle. You stood up and pulled her with you to go with the others but not before kissing her. Your heart exploding at the feeling of her lips on yours, only to be interrupted by Dook who seemed to be jealous as he went between you two. Both of you laughed before going back to the group, hand in hand with Dook in front of you. Sam looked at your hands before glaring at you, hiding her small smile.
“So what to we have on these people?” Kirby asked looking into the group, eyes fixated on Sam.
“Y/n had a point. Dook didn’t bark which means we knew whoever was inside” you gave everybody a tight lipped smile before deciding to add something.
“I have a really stupid thing, or maybe it isn’t stupid, I don’t know. But Dook constantly barked at the body bag which made me suspicious. He wouldn’t just bark at a dead person and I mean, there wasn’t even a scream, who doesn’t notice ghost face in your room?” You rambled on until Chad decided to interrupt you.
“So you guess what? That Quinn is still alive and a part of the whole thing?” He chuckled slightly clearly not believing you. You rolled your eyes looking at Tara for help.
“Well, I mean that does sound very unrealistic. I’m sorry but how would that even work?” She was apologetic about not being on your side, Ethan who you hadn’t noticed until now nodding along with what she said. You rolled your eyes again looking at Kirby who just shrugged.
“Whatever. Do we have any other thoughts, ideas?” You asked a tad annoyed, parting from Tara to follow Dook around.
“I think we should do the tracking the call thing” one of them suggested, a discussion immediately breaking loose. You just watched your dog sniff around, focusing on one of the masks that seemed to have fallen down hoping that he’d pick up on something.
The next time ghostface attacked was when they did the call thing but there was nothing you could do, he was too far gone. Gale barely surviving. It hurt Tara a lot, she was clinging to you like a koala, whispering how sorry she was that you were in this, that she’d never forgive herself if you got hurt. You just pressed her head into you in a comforting manner, rubbing her back and letting her cry.
You were also heavily against the idea of them playing bait but here you were in the weird ass old cinema kinda thing. “So y/n, I got a K9 kennel for Dook” Kirby told you which was a great thing even though it sounded weird. But you were scared that they’d do something to him and with a K9 kennel you could get him when you needed him but they wouldn’t get inside to hurt him in case they found him.
“Thank you so much, I’ll put him in and then come back” you told them petting your leg for him to follow, Tara quickly walking up next to you to follow you. You wrapped your arm around her shoulder as you walked to the hidden place.
“I feel sorry putting him in that thing, he’s always such a good boy” the smaller brunette mumbled as she crouched down to cuddle him, wrapping her arms around his head. Your heart was exploding from the cuteness of the scene no matter how shitty the actual situation was.
“I know me too. But at least we know that he’s gonna be safe isn’t that right love?” You said pointing at the kennel making him go inside and sit down. “Good boy, I love you and I’ll get you soon” you smiled at Tara before taking her hand and walking around the building.
“If something happens tonight, I want to thank you for finding dook and taking care of him and taking me in and showing me how it feels to really be with someone” you told her as you pulled her closer to kiss her.
Suddenly someone appeared behind her trying to stab her making you push her out of the way. You punched their face before grabbing her and running towards the main room, running past a stabbed Chad. “Shit Chad” Tara screamed and stopped running to bend down to him.
“T, we cant Save him if we die ourselves. Let’s go, we need to find Sam and figure out where Mindy is” the mentioning of Sam did it for her making her stand up and keep running for you. In this moment you were happy that Anika was too hurt to come along, one person less to be scared about. When you stopped in the main hall Sam stood there completely shocked and out of breath.
“Oh god, there you are I was looking for you. Wayne called me, he told me that Kirby went crazy and got fired. He believes that she’s ghostface” she explained ushering the two of you closer to her. “Mindy got stabbed on the way here, in the subway. I-I don’t know where Chad is” she added making Tara flinch at the mentioning of her friend.
“He got stabbed, we left him we couldn’t do anything. It’s better if they think he’s dead” you told her.
The next things were too quick for you to comprehend. Kirby appeared and was suddenly knocked out by someone in a ghost face costume, and then another one appearing. Turned out they were Wayne and Ethan, father and son. And then, a third one appeared. A scared ‘Mindy?’ Leaving Sams mouth, tears welling up in Tara’s and you were tensing. But then the mask was pulled of and revealed Quinn making you jump and fist bump the air.
“I fucking told you. I told you she wasn’t fucking dead motherfuker” you then quickly turned quiet again, realizing that this wasn’t the right moment. And then Wayne started talking about something with their past and weird ass stuff, you kinda zoned out trying to find a way out while protecting Tara. At least until you hear a certain name.
“And then there was Dook, he was rather easy to take care of after you put him in a kennel where he couldn’t do anything to us” Wayne said, Ethan and Quinn giggling making you even madder. They started to circle the three of you, Tara and Sam grabbing a stone. Sam quickly turned around signaling you to run and look for your dog once there was an opportunity and you did. They distracted them long enough for you to run off to where dook was hidden, constantly clicking the button that was supposed to release him but nothing. He was nowhere to be seen making you panic.
When you arrived at the kennel he was laying on his side, eyes closed and the kennel still closed. You pried the door open, once you got it open you crawled inside, tears already spreading in your eyes. “Dook?” You mumbled just for him to open his eyes and stand up, licking you across the face. “Not cool dude, i thought you were dead” and then your eyes fell to some kind of dog treat that you didn’t put there. Picking it up to smell it you quickly figured out that there was something wrong with it. “You’re such a smart boy” you cuddled him for a moment before remembering why you were even here.
When you came back to the siblings Sam was upstairs, holding Tara who was hanging over the upper part of the theater, Ethan under her fumbling around with a knife. “I’ve always wanted to stick something in you Tara” he said making you gag and more aggressive than you already were.
You saw Quinn and Wayne coming for Sam upstairs, “Dook, go protect Sam” you told the dog and got yourself ready to tackle Ethan just in case Tara needed the help.
“Sam, you have to let me go” Tara’s voice was desperate making Sam sigh and do let go of her, she fell and landed in his arms. She grinned as she stuck the knife into his throat pulling it down and god she looked good. She landed on her feet when he fell over and made her way towards your open arms.
Upstairs Sam shot Quinn in the head and then tried to shoot Wayne just for the gun to be empty. In that moment Dook jumped on his back knocking him to the ground, giving Sam the opportunity to kick him in the face and knocking him out. She came back down with the dog next to her. “I have a plan” she told you and quickly explained what you were supposed to do while scratching Dooks back, Tara scratching his head.
You were just a back up and a protection in sams plan, so you stood behind Tara with Dook, feeding him some treats. “What’s your favorite scary movie?” She said into the phone, holding the voice changer in front of it, a grin spreading across your face. She kept talking for a bit until you heard a scream through the phone which was when she hung up. “God, I just wanna go home” she mumbled as she leaned against you waiting for Sam to get you two.
Sam and Tara sat on the steps while you stood a bit further away to give them their privacy. They talked while you sat on the ground with Dook in your lap, zooming out until Sam called out for you. “If you hurt her I’ll hurt you. Even worse than I hurt Wayne” you gave her an upside down smile, and an awkward okay before Tara came running towards you making Dook and you jump up. She jumped into your arms and kissed you making you twirl her around.
That night you laid in Tara’s bed, cuddled up with Dook next to your legs. You wrapped your arm around her waist and pulled her even deeper into you. “Thank you for everything y/n, you’ve been here for us. You and Dook, you’ve been protecting us as if we are your family. I’ve always wanted somebody like you” she mumbled into your chest making you smile.
“Dook and I will never let anyone hurt you or your family. Tomorrow we will pick up Mindy and Anika and then we will visit Chad, Gale and Kirby. Now, stop talking so we can watch the movie” you grinned as you pressed play on the Babadook before pressing soft kisses on her lips.
It may have been to early to say I love you but god, you loved that woman more than anything. You loved her just as much as you loved Dook.
So this is like the longest thing I’ve ever written and I’m not sure I like it. But I took forever to write and I hope you guys enjoy it.

Wolf Spider pt. 2 (set during Scream VI)
Sam Carpenter x Spider Man!Reader
For @deafeningsharkslimeempath
Halloween time had come at last. And yet all was not calm for the Carpenter sisters and you, their friendly neighborhood Wolf Spider. The city was filled with masks and people in costumes. You knew all too well that anyone could wear a Ghostface mask, slash, and blend back into the crowd.
Trouble arrived the night before All Hallow's Eve. A murder of a film school student and his roommate. You snuck into the crime scene, Detective Bailey greeting you politely.
"Normally I wouldn't work with vigilantes" He intones.
"Well we're not under normal circumstances." you answer back. "knife?"
"Matches the slashes we found on that film studies teacher" Bailey answers back. His face goes ghostly pale.
"Ghostface"
"We don't know that yet!"
"Need more proof?" you head to the nearby ledge and swing out into the open air. You knew what it meant for your beloved girlfriend Sam and her sister Tara.
Your ear bud rings with the sound of your cell phone. A glance down to your phone reveals the caller id of Sam herself. Speak of the succubus herself.
"Hey honey" you answer the call. "How was your day?"
"My therapist was a total dick" she huffs.
You keep up the conversation while webswinging through the New York skyline, "Sweetheart, if i know a thing or two about blood, it's that you define you."
"But what about that incident with Richie?"
"I know several heroes who kill bad guys, it's only if you went after some innocent person that I'd get worried"
"Are you swinging?"
"M-Maybe"
"What have I told you about texting while swinging?"
"Well I'm not texting-" WHOOSH! A semi zooms right past you as you course correct your swing. "and that's why I love you so much, Sammie"
"Can you check on Tara for me?"
"Send me the party coordinates" you sigh as you swing toward NYU.
You found Tara drunk and being flirted with an obvious predator.
"Hey the lady and I were heading upstairs" the drunk college student continued pulling on Tara's arm. "Nice costume by the way"
"Sorry pal, you're heading downstairs" you sock the drunk predator straight in the jaw, knocking him clean out.
"I can handle myself, Y/N!" Tara intones before storming out of the party. "You're as bad as Sam sometimes!"
You quickly give chase. And so does Chad and Ethan. You charge after Tara and scoop her up before swinging off into the night.
"Where'd they go, dude?" Ethan asks your confused friend Chad.
"Put me down!" Tara drunkenly orders you.
"Well if you insist" you drop her from the height of your swing. Tara screams on the way down before you swing and scoop her up again.
"Are you crazy?!"
"Drinking's bad for your health and your grades, Carpenter" you offer a smirking smile under your mask. You come and set her down on top of the apartment's roof.
"Why can't you or Sam just allow me to make my own decisions?" Tara huffs.
"When you can start making the right ones." you huff back. "I don't mean to scare you but I can't let you wander the streets alone anymore."
"Why not?"
"Three murders recently." you remove your mask, "I think it might be-"
"Ghostface." Tara immediately sobers up before hugging you tight. "Thank you"
"You're like a sis to me, kid, I won't let anyone hurt you"
"What are we gonna tell Sam?"
"I don't know" you sigh, "could you tell her? I'm still on the hook for the whole texting and swinging incident"
Ghostface was loose in the Big Apple. You already knew who the targets were. Luckily, they had a Wolf Spider to back them up.
