Ram Singh & Comics

I have been just thinking about Ram Singh being a secret lil comic geek. And not just bc I wanna combine my two hyperfixations... He does his best to cover his tracks but just knows a little bit too much about the Superhero lore to just have "a normal guy knowledge about Superheroes" as he claims.

Tanya clearly also comics (i don't make the rules) and they discuss their opinions on things occasionally when she tutors him.

Their opinions are mostly similar so typically it's nice and cordial

Once they both got over the top dramatic about something and didn't speak to each other for a whole week until someone in their group questioned it and then all of a sudden, Ram was a bit apologetic

Once he nearly got caught so he blamed the person closest to him and said it was theirs

That person was April

April then proceeded to poorly pretend to be into comics

Needless to say, Ram took that opportunity to attempt to pull April into comics

That said, I have hardcore beliefs that Ram would relate most to Superman

Powerful guy who just wants to help people but it seems like the world is set against him.

Plus it doesn't hurt that Superman gets chicks, eyyy

He immediately assumes April would be into Lois bc she's basically her carbon copy

April ofc immediately attaches to like Batman... or more accurately Tim Drake

When April after confessing that, asks Ram who he relates to the most, Ram jokes "Cyborg/Metallo, as i'm already on the way there"

They laugh

Back to Superman, Ram doesn't understand why writers keep trying to paint him as evil

he really is just trying to help the world and can lift cars so whats boring about that

While he can get behind the whole losing yourself with losing a loved one, he doesn't get Injustice...

Sure, he wanted to end the world after losing Rachel...

But Superman is Superman... he's supposed to be better than him. He'd never do that!

ALSO He'll never admit it but he felt sick when April compared Superman to Charlie

she would have loved quill and helped her grieve ballon and her and charlie would be neurodiverse together. I would hope for her to interact with april and ram but quill didn’t much even though she could/ and should have done so if it had actually been done they probably would have be less interacted with(they are more independent and have more bonds within the story already so its fair but :(. I would have ram annoyed at her for running on to the pitch and for being weird about being open with her emotions but april would make him softer on her and maybe all of the gang would be picked up by her from the school hall( given that time isn’t linear) and she would let tanya and ram stay and the gang sleep over. 

maybe they would just play table tennis and geek out over sailor moon, violins and downton, compete over who is stronger and better at physics and bond over trauma.

I am going to say she probably did at some point as she has had 5 years in our time on screen and flux til new years was years and years.

I hope she hung with quilliam and treated him like a wizard

yaz would be enjoying herself and  especially close with ram, charlie and april, ryan with ram(disabled chat) and tanya and graham would chat weird made up narnia theories. dan would be vibing in the corner being the gaydar and proving all are queer and making fun of quill

Y'know I'm still a little mad that 13 never got to meet the gang from the BBC Class series. She would've loved all those kids.

there are no posted fics featuring her yet (& with how slow i am at writing these days might not be for ✨quite✨ sometime could be a year 😩😭😩) but she has been in the works since 2019 & will eventually feature first properly in For Years & Years I Roamed (the 12 arc of my canon rewrite AU) as the adopted daughter of barbara & ian before coming further into her own as she turns 15 & joins the bunghole squad, she’s so creative & loves musicals, the theatre, dressing up & makeup, chose to do drama as her creative gcse. barbara, ian, her brothers john & danny along with clara, the doctor & rose (& whoever's travelling with them at the time) go to ALL of her performances.
