Murder, says Tanur boat tragedy FIR; Kerala HC steps in too
The Kerala High Court said 22 precious lives were lost in a boat tragedy, which by initial accounts was "one that should have never happened and (could have been) fully averted."
Tumblr media
KOCHI: The police on Tuesday slapped murder charge on the owner of the boat that capsized in Tanur, leaving 22 people dead. Meanwhile, the Kerala High Court initiated suo motu case in the incident, terming it a tragedy that “should never have happened.”
The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which registered a case under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC against Nasar P, said he operated the ill-fated boat Atlantic despite knowing that chances of a tragedy were high.
Nasar was interrogated and produced before the Parappanangadi judicial first class magistrate court, which remanded him in judicial custody. He was sent to Tirur sub-jail.
Meanwhile, in Kochi, an HC division bench comprising Justice Devan Ramachandran and Justice Shoba Annamma Eapen, directed the Malappuram district collector to file a report on the incident by May 12. It also highlighted Kerala’s past boat tragedies and its effect on people.
“From Redeemer that capsized in January 1924, drowning Mahakavi Kumaranasan and 34 others, to Jalakanyaka that went down in 2009 in Idukki killing 45; and other Poseidon tragedies with fewer fatalities taking place with frightening regularity, citizens seem justifiably indurated (hardened) to news of loss of lives caused solely by a deathly cocktail of callousness, indifference, greed and official apathy. How many more will we have to see?” asked the bench.
It said 22 precious lives were lost in a boat tragedy, which by initial accounts was “one that should have never happened and (could have been) fully averted.”
It said unless the court puts its foot down, causative factors such as overloading, violation of laws and absence of safety requirements like life jackets would be repeated with impunity.
“Every tragedy triggers routine investigations followed by recommendations; but never to be heeded thereafter. The refusal to follow and enforce the most basic safety protocols is most infuriating. More so, since our state has hundreds of boats in tourism, and such an incident is waiting to happen if the present state of affairs is allowed to continue,” the bench said.
The court said had the authorities concerned done their duty, the mishap, like the others, would have never happened. “The final loss is to citizens as instances like these are erased from memory soon,” said the court.
Municipality one of respondents
The division bench has directed the registry of HC to array the chief secretary, Malappuram District Tourism Promotion Council secretary, Malappuram District Police Chief, Tanur municipality secretary, Alappuzha port officer, Beypore senior port conservator and Malappuram district collector as respondents in the suo motu case.
Boat driver, helpers absconding
Malappuram district police chief Sujith Das, who is heading the SIT, said Dinesh, the boat’s driver, and his helpers who were on the boat are absconding. “A search is on to nab them,” he said, adding that the SIT will seek the custody of boat owner Nasar soon.
Cusat team to inspect boat
Malappuram district police chief Sujith Das said an expert team from Cochin University of Science and Technology will inspect the boat Atlantic and submit a report on the alterations made to it. The Kerala Maritime Board (KMB) had recently reached the final stage of issuing a licence to the boat operator to operate the vessel for trips. KMB chairman Salim Kumar said an expert from Cusat had recommended providing a licence to operate the boat with 22 passengers.
The SIT will scrutinise the nod.
Locals slam Nasar
The SIT nabbed Nasar from Kozhikode on Monday and brought him to Malappuram. While Nasar was being taken to the magistrate, the residents reached Parappanangadi and protested against him, calling him a murderer.
Court’s observations
No operator can do all this on his own. It’s because some support is received. We have to come to the root of the problem.
There is a lot to be answered by Tanur municipality. 22 people died. children died. Our hearts are bleeding. Nobody has fear of law anymore
Every time, the government steps in and announces compensation, which is absolutely necessary. Was any action taken to recover the amount from the officer who was responsible? It’s public money we are giving. If some officers were held accountable, things would have been different.

You know, it is shocking to me that I've never seen Jumblr talking about the bit of Bava Metzia 86a in which the members of the heavenly yeshiva engage in a halachic dispute with G-d, and the debate is ultimately resolved by calling upon a rabbinic expert on the matter

Posting for a friend :
“Hello everyone,
My name is Isabel and I am a mother of two children. At just 22 years old, I am facing immense health challenges that threaten my ability to care for them and myself. Recently, I received a diagnosis that turned my life upside down: Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), a rare and complex disease that affects my connective tissues, causing debilitating symptoms. Alongside EDS, I battle with kidney issues, including frequent stone formation and cysts, which have resulted in constant infections. Additionally, I suffer from two lesser-known conditions that significantly impact my daily life.
Gastroparesis is one of these conditions. It is a disorder that affects the normal and spontaneous movement of the muscles in my stomach, causing severe discomfort, malnutrition, and a series of other complications. Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS) is another challenge I face. This condition affects the autonomic nervous system, causing an abnormal increase in heart rate when moving from a lying down to a standing position. The symptoms include dizziness, fainting, fatigue, and difficulty regulating blood pressure, further adding to the complexity of my health problems.
Every day is a battle against my own body. Seizures and difficulty walking have become my new norm in the last two weeks, and for these symptoms, I still have no answer.
The challenges I face are not just medical; they permeate every aspect of my life. A restrictive diet, constant medical appointments, and the need for a new functional wheelchair are just a few of the urgent needs I must address to maintain normalcy for myself and my children, who are my greatest motivation to continue.
I am turning to you, kind-hearted individuals, for support. Your generosity can make an immense difference in our lives. With your help, I can afford the medical care, equipment, and assistance necessary to navigate these tumultuous times.
Your donations will directly contribute to:
- **Medical Expenses:** Covering the costs of ongoing treatments and medications.
- **Mobility Aids:** Acquiring a new wheelchair or adapting my current one, which will enable me to move with greater ease and independence, ensuring I can continue to care for my children.
- **Nutritional Support:** Meeting the expenses of a specialized diet and necessary nutritional supplements to combat malnutrition caused by gastroparesis. Currently, I am extremely malnourished and underweight, which delays my overall improvement.
- **Childcare Assistance:** Allowing me to ensure reliable childcare so I can focus on spending time with my children without compromising my health.
No donation is too small, and every contribution brings us closer to a brighter and healthier future. Your support not only provides practical assistance but also offers hope and comfort during this difficult time.
From the bottom of my heart, I express my deepest gratitude for considering my appeal.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and generosity.

15th of Frostfall, Tirdas
The Velothi are well, the Nest is well tended to, and the manor is being prepared for the final harvest of the year.
My Prince's Summoning Day went off beautifully. We welcomed our newest to the fold, who has decided to take the name of Corn. Being that they are an Imperial, I assume they are taking the elder meaning of the word, to mean grain, rather than the Argonian staple. Corn in the old sense did also have a connotation of abundance and life that I can only assume drew them to such a name, though I might well be wrong.
We went to the initiation cavern near the Harborage under the cover of darkness, though the moons were still rather bright, even early in their growth. Corn was blindfolded for part of the journey and all who accompanied them were veiled. We were made up rather like a funeral procession, in part, to be above suspicion, in part to be left alone.
Corn shook when their past murders were shown to all in my flames. Yet I opened my arms and welcomed them in after they took their oaths. The frenzy of prayer and offerings soon followed and Corn seemed to relax.
Tanur stayed with them throughout, to put their mind at ease, and so that they might ask questions. I think the ritual dagger, when it was brought before them for the vow, made them fear they might be sacrificed. Yet they soon saw that we do not do such of our own.
A sacrifice was made, of course. One whom I had gathered from Mournhold a week prior and kept safely tucked away until this time. We veiled Corn for this part of the ceremony and I laid our victim, a disgusting mer, who had sold his own son to a slaver, simply because the boy was not the quickest. Then, the father had used the money to spend on lavish parties with hired mer, while his family lay starving.
Lucky for his family, I was propositioned by this father and asked to come to the private suite he bought with the money he sold his son for. I was able to easily slip a sleeping drought into his shein and soon enough, we had a perfect offering for our Prince.
I made a big show of showing his crimes before the Nest and asking what justice we should enact. My death weavers were, of course, eager to spill blood. So, too, it seemed were all but Arrow. Arrow refrained on account that she did not wish to participate, so she withdrew a vote. I asked Corn, since the vote was passed to them, what punishment they saw fit.
They thought for a while and thought the father should be made to pay his family back all the money taken and to see the son was freed. I asked the others what they thought of this and they mostly agreed.
So I asked the father, still bound in spider silk, if he could repay the money and free his son. Afeared for his life, he quickly said he would see to it, if his life were spared. Then I asked him if he truly intended it and placed a hand upon him. I saw that he was simply going to run and asked our Prince show his true intentions. In the flames, the image I saw of this mer running and getting the Ordinators to arrest us, then hurrying home, played in the flames.
I shook my head. Wrong answer.
Prince asked if he could do the honors of seeing this mer freed of his struggles. I did so like the way he phrased these things. I told him that I knew he was capable and should like to pass the honors to someone else. Ebony was surprised when I placed a hand on her shoulder and asked her to make the decision of joining the death weavers or not. She beamed up at me. I know she has struggled with the decision, but with a whisper to her as to what to do to make the offering if her answer was to join, she stood up and went to the mer.
He looked at her and she laid a comforting hand upon his cheek and told him she was going to release him for all the pain and suffering we had inflicted upon him. He sighed in relief and she grabbed the silk at his wrists.
As he breathed his words of thanks to her, she slit his throat. Blaze and Prince laughed, enjoying the theatrics of it. Then everyone took up the prayer.
To my astonishment, Blaze and Effervescent rushed forward to wet their blades, too. They drew the sigil of our Prince upon one another. I suspect that they both have been growing closer after that.
When the victim's life seemed to leave him, I made my flames rise up and surround me. Then I gave a cheer for our newest spiderling and our newest death weaver. All gave thanks.
I asked Arrow if she would do the honors of vessel for our Prince, for in the flames, I had been asked to choose her. She seemed startled, perhaps thinking her refusal to condemn a life would have taken her out of the running.
To my surprise, she accepted and I had Tanur lead the others as I took Arrow and prepared her for the task, with extra cleansing bath, incense, and consecrated oil. She told me of her feeling as though she has not been as invested and how surprised she was to be a part of this. I assured her that our Prince pulls the threads of fate and that it was likely because of her keen insight and intelligence that she was more prone to questioning what we did. I praised her for being willing to stand up against the will of others when it did not seem right to her and said that it gave her the makings of a true spiritual leader, for only by continuing to learn and be curious, can you truly grow and teach.
I could see that this put her much at ease and I could see a new sense of pride and determination come over her. And when I opened up the pathway for our Prince to enter her, she looked radiant as the words of our Queen flowed easily from her lips. It was not long, but the blessed words were given to us and I helped Arrow to recover at the end of the rite, bringing her offering cakes and libations.
She cried, not a soft weeping, but a loud wail. She burst into laughter and many worried that Sheogorath might have snatched her, but she stood up and told me how grateful she was. How renewed she felt. How blessed. That words could not even encompass how it was to have a gods inside her, even for those few short moments. She was overwhelmed with a sense of love.
I embraced her and bid others to do so as well. Corn listened with rapt attention and everyone was so genuinely happy for one another, I do not think they noticed when Zethith and I slipped away to discuss the upcoming plans for the Nest.
Zethith tells me that our Prince wishes to see our death weavers begin to actually enact a plan, to test them in the field, so to speak. This month will be the time for me to select a target for them and to have them carry out an actually murder plot.
I returned to the Velothi for the traditional celebration with my mind focused on where to begin. The Farseer still views me suspiciously, but I think she was still thankful I was distracted enough not to cause any trouble. Why she believes I would ever wish her or the tribe any harm, I cannot even fathom. But I cannot change that in one single celebration.
We returned home today. Well, I suppose Mother is still with the tribe until the end of the week. I suspect it is because Tel is arriving tomorrow and she does not wish to have another awkward evening. Given how much Temple talk she must listen to, given her position, I believe she prefers not to have such topics laid upon her in her family time.
All the better for me, of course! I have a very busy visit planned. Tel's name day just passed and since I was not able to be present, I have something particularly special in mind to make up for it. I hope he enjoys it as much as I think he will.

Hello G.J.! I have come to bug you about Tors and Feron in Our Lonely Ocean. Because I love the gay knights.
Anything you want to share about them, really. Or about your story. I’m mega hype ✨
thanks so much for the ask, and I might talk about both if that’s ok :)
Sooo in Our Lonely Ocean, a reserved and quiet Feron Tanur arrives in the kingdom of Neretia after being exiled because he refused to marry (he’s a noble from the island republic of Quoria) and lies about his noble status to enter the guard as a squire. Those of higher status are trained under the grumpy royal knight and personal guard to the king himself. Tors isn’t in a great position himself, always pissed off due to his arranged marriage being planned to commence in two months (which he really doesn’t want). Getting stuck in the jungle on their first expedition kicks off there journey of bonding and near death experiences. Yes they become very gay for each other and Feron is able to hold his own as a knight, so he stays after Tors easily figures out that he’s not a noble anymore.
As for Ascent of Dusk, the lore is that a civilization of magic-wielding aliens called Dusk came in a massive fucking tower that reaches out of the atmosphere (nobody’s ever seen the top). They were thwarted by the newly formed major kingdoms. The Dusk seemingly went extinct but said tower ascended and hasn’t been seen in 80 years. The war between humans (or the Dawn) left the continent in shambles, and the discovery of magic only made it worse. Binding the body part of a Dusk to something gives it a random magic property, which also binds the wielder to said body part, essentially making a pact and sacrificing something of their own in the process. The major kingdoms are no more and only villages and cities remain, also still recovering. 80 years later, where city states and small kingdoms have begun, the Dusk’s tower crashes, and now everyone wants to see what’s inside. The plot is about two travelers, a holy knight named Lunis who has a Dusk skull stuck to his head, and a former executioner, now sellsword named Throne team up to ascent the tower, encountering many other interesting folks along the way.
I’ll probably make a wip intro for it, also sorry for hitting you with a wall of text!

18 - Mirin - Weave
Pronunciation /miɾin/
Etymology From Proto-Pirngu *midin.
Noun mirin (erg. mirinnak, def. ti-mirin, indef. mirim-mang, int. mim-mirin)
Weft string.
A braid, plait.
A way or type of weaving.
Verb, (agent)/(recipient)/patient mirin (past. mimirin)
To weave.
To braid, plait.
To tack or shunt, to sail upwind in alternating directions either by turning and letting the sail swing to the other side (tacking), or by reconfiguring the sail so that the old prow is the stern and vice versa (shunting). The large Pirngu ships (tanur) can only tack, while the small ships and canoes can also shunt.
To pass back and forth.
To tell a story, gossip, chat, have a conversation, see punnu (“spin”).
Example Sentences
Ti-mirin pa nuppa mbaru puwunnu — “This weft is spun seal gut”
Mirin ti-muwu puwunnu uppan ti-nawa — “The spun banana fiber weaves through the warp”
Ni ndara attu ri ti-rukku, ndaraak mirin ti-ranur — “If we sail into the wind, we tack the ship”
Kirrak tirikki ti-mirin ti-nar — “She pulled the girl’s braid”
Ndarung ut ti-mirinnak ri uwi — “You like to braid hair”
Ti-nar ta ngiwa mbi kun punnu kun mirin — “The old women over there spin and weave (gossip)”
Kirrak mimirin ngur-mang tak kikkjar-mang pak ku kumbum-mang namu — “She wove a dress with a  flying sea eagle and a breaching whale”

This is always a great joke, but also I want you all to know that it's literally in the Talmud:
The Oven of Akhnai
Bava Metzia 59b:1
The Sages taught: On that day, when they discussed this matter, Rabbi Eliezer answered all possible answers in the world to support his opinion, but the Rabbis did not accept his explanations from him.
Bava Metzia 59b:2
After failing to convince the Rabbis logically, Rabbi Eliezer said to them: If the halakha is in accordance with my opinion, this carob tree will prove it. The carob tree was uprooted from its place one hundred cubits, and some say four hundred cubits. The Rabbis said to him: One does not cite halakhic proof from the carob tree. Rabbi Eliezer then said to them: If the halakha is in accordance with my opinion, the stream will prove it. The water in the stream turned backward and began flowing in the opposite direction. They said to him: One does not cite halakhic proof from a stream.
Bava Metzia 59b:3
Rabbi Eliezer then said to them: If the halakha is in accordance with my opinion, the walls of the study hall will prove it. The walls of the study hall leaned inward and began to fall. Rabbi Yehoshua scolded the walls and said to them: If Torah scholars are contending with each other in matters of halakha, what is the nature of your involvement in this dispute? The Gemara relates: The walls did not fall because of the deference due Rabbi Yehoshua, but they did not straighten because of the deference due Rabbi Eliezer, and they still remain leaning.
Bava Metzia 59b:4
Rabbi Eliezer then said to them: If the halakha is in accordance with my opinion, Heaven will prove it. A Divine Voice emerged from Heaven and said: Why are you differing with Rabbi Eliezer, as the halakha is in accordance with his opinion in every place that he expresses an opinion?
Bava Metzia 59b:5
Rabbi Yehoshua stood on his feet and said: It is written: “It is not in heaven” (Deuteronomy 30:12). The Gemara asks: What is the relevance of the phrase “It is not in heaven” in this context? Rabbi Yirmeya says: Since the Torah was already given at Mount Sinai, we do not regard a Divine Voice, as You already wrote at Mount Sinai, in the Torah: “After a majority to incline” (Exodus 23:2). Since the majority of Rabbis disagreed with Rabbi Eliezer’s opinion, the halakha is not ruled in accordance with his opinion. The Gemara relates: Years after, Rabbi Natan encountered Elijah the prophet and said to him: What did the Holy One, Blessed be He, do at that time, when Rabbi Yehoshua issued his declaration? Elijah said to him: The Holy One, Blessed be He, smiled and said: My children have triumphed over Me; My children have triumphed over Me.
[After this, Rabbi Eliezer was excommunicated from the group.]
Four rabbis are debating scripture out in the garden, and one of them notices he's continuously outvoted by the other three even though he's absolutely certain he's right. At a certain point, his frustration gets the best of him and he stands up, raises his hands and and says "My Lord, you must know that this is the right way, gives us a sign to let us know!"
As soon as he has spoken, a cloud materializes out of nowhere, moves in front of the sun and dissolves again.
The other three look at him, at each other, go "Well... That was certainly unusual, but the weather's been acting up a bit lately, so this does not really mean anything", and just continue with the discussion unmoved.
The fourth rabbi, increasingly desperate, again stands up and calls out "My Lord, they continue to defy your word, please send another sign to help them see the error of their ways!"
This time, it's not just one cloud, but the entire sky darkens, a thunderclap sounds and a bolt of lightning hits just next to the other three rabbis. They're startled, but after catching their breath conclude that no, you don't see that every day, but it's late summer, thunderstorms can come in surprisingly quickly, we're out in an open garden, there's no lightning rod on top of the synagogue even though there really should be, etc. So this still doesn't mean anything, we'll stick with our viewpoints thank you very much.
Now absolutely livid and still outvoted, the fourth rabbi gets up one final time, stamps his feet, raises his hands and shouts "Oh Lord, you who created all, for the love of your people and the ways of the world, make your will known, so that it must be clear even to these stubborn mules!"
And a booming voice fills the sky, "HE IS CORRECT"
The other three rabbis look up, look down to their colleague, and finally one says:
"That's still three against two"

4th of Frostfall, Fredas
What an amusing evening we had last night. It was the night of the meeting with the new Imperial prospect. There was a party at their inn, hosted by Tanur, as our parties with the mundanes tend to be.
I played the part of just another guest when I first arrived. I wanted to see how this Imperial would interact with the rest of the regulars and guests. They seemed to be ever bit the kindly proprietor. This was a good sign. They did not seem overeager for patrons, nor in a particular rush to get people out of their establishment. They were neither overly accommodating, nor crass, nor carry any particular attitude. The whole demeanor was ordinary through and through.
I searched their face and their features too, were rather ordinary. Not unhandsome, but not particularly beauteous either. Nondescript would be the best way to describe their looks. If one were to say, oh yes, I was walking down the street and saw a person, an Imperial I believe, the first thought that would enter your head would not be far off from the person standing before me.
Not wanting to interrupt their duties, I indulged in some of the frivolities. Tanur's selection of drinks was just above average, enough to make guests feel as though they were being treated well, but not enough to put off anyone of lesser means, nor to offend someone of a higher status. The food was of similar quality and I let myself have a bit of light fare before my usual cleansing ritual.
There is something about entering a den of carnal pleasures with the skin still slightly damp from clean water and a fresh sheen of perfumed oil. My special merdehkes daelheg blend., perfect for seduction. I let myself embody that personality. I feel my own sensual nature all the more with the scent of that oil on me. I am primed to do what I know is to be done.
I made myself into quite the spectacle, calling as many others to me as I could. Some of my spiderlings were present and they came with only the smallest glance. And as though falling under a trance, others took up the silent call. Soon I found myself in such a pile of bodies that I could not tell which of the many people there was in contact with which part of my own body. As the musicians played in the corner, the music reached to a crescendo as the mass of mortals, lost in the sway of their shared pleasure, moved like the ocean, together, in waves where one met the other.
It was so easy to give myself over to it. To fully release control over my own body. Before, even with drink and my own pleasure reaching an apex, I could never fully let my guard down. It was never safe enough. But being in this place, where I was surrounded by so many loyal spiderlings and with a measure of immortality, I could cede that last thread of control that I have feared losing for so long. And the ecstasy that flowed from me was palpable in the writhing pleasure of those around me.
It was a transcendent experience. For I felt as though each person who touched me, who I touched, warm, bare flesh pressed against the other, was taking away some of what I was experiencing, the sensation I felt was given to them in turn. And as each person felt that pleasure, it was passed along to the next and the next. So that soon the sounds of pleasure rose in the room like a chorus, a song of praise to my great Prince. And hearing the beauty of that melody, I pushed on, called with my will for the others to keep going, to remain in this pique of pleasure, longer and longer.
Excitement seemed to erupt from some throats around me, surprise that things continued. There was laughter, jovial and hearty. There were screams and moans of climax, woven amongst these as well. Yet the group did not disperse, did not cease. And just as I thought I surely could not continue any longer, another, deeper level of euphoria took hold. The musicians did not cease, for neither had those of us in the room, and I realized that at some point the song and the motion of bodies were in perfect harmony, aligned in a way I do not know if it could have been accomplished consciously.
Finally, there was a sense in the room that everyone could go on no longer and the music lulled and the bodies detangled from one another. And everyone, musician and guest alike, were painting and sweating and coated in the love we had all shared in that moment. Even still, there was laughter, as though no one could quite believe what had just happened. Murmurs between people seeming incredulous about their multiple releases buzzed in the air like wasps by a nest.
Tanur stood in the doorway looking mystified, his trousers unlaced and halfway off his hips. I gave him a slight grin and he came to my side, his body clearly ready to join in the frivolity he had just missed being a part of.
I could tell from a smear on his hip that he was likely engaged with someone or someones else when the sound must have drawn him to my room. He planted kisses along my collarbone and down my chest. I tipped up his chin to look at him with a small laugh and then gestured to my own flagging member, which clearly was not yet ready for more.
Ever one to take this as a challenge, he did his best to rouse me back to a state where he might find his own resolution. I gently guided him away and told him to have patience. He brought me some of the shein and some light fare and I let him feed me sensually, knowing that all it was doing was teasing him more.
Eventually, when I was well recovered, I let him indulge in the manner of his preference . Blaze joined as well, though I had not at first realized it was she who had joined us. I brought her to pleasure as well before we parted and I sought out the appointment room for my meeting with the Imperial.
I did not bother to get fully dressed. If the Imperial were going to be committing murder during such events, then nudity would hardly be something to be shy about. I knocked in the pattern given me and the door opened, the Imperial gesturing me inside.
They introduced themselves as Nole. I made my greeting and took the offered seat across from their desk, making myself overly familiar in my tone and draping myself over the proffered furnishing.
We spoke for a while and I could tell they were watching me with a very calculating eye. I assume they saw much and so had many questions that they longed to ask, but were too afraid to risk asking.
When I asked about the plan for the murder they were to carry out that night, they informed me that it was already taken care of and the body waiting for people to vacate in order to be disposed of.
I was disappointed in myself that I had missed seeing or hearing this take place. Yet I could guess at what point it may have occurred that I had done so.
When we seemed to come to an understanding, I reached across the desk with my hand outstretched, as if to shake their arm in the symbol of a pact made.
They took my hand and in doing so, I saw their past crimes. Murder. Several times, in fact. Always seemingly justified.
Yet I did not see anything to do with the Dark Brotherhood and Nole did not seem to have felt me seeing into their mind when we touched.
I smiled and offered them to join us at an after party. I said, it was a sort of tradition when sealing deals.
If nothing else, I figured we could simply kill Nole and forge transfer of the deed and make it look like they had returned to Cyrodill.
I was glad it did not come to that. In fact, as soon as the short challenge began, Nole seemed to be very excited.
When I created in flames one of their murders, they looked at first embarrassed, then proud when others seemed to be nodding approvingly. I do not know how to describe it, but they just felt like they belonged. There was a certain rightness to their being with the others, who were robed and hooded at that point.
And then they asked how to join us and I, feeling emboldened by all that had occurred, pressed on with the initiation at their insistence. I did make sure to explain who we served and offer them an out, but they seemed excited by the prospect. They said how after seeing the display at the party, they were not surprised to see what Prince we served, though they had wondered if we followed Sanguine.
I took no offense at this, only laughed. The mirth of our group as they welcomed a new member was higher than I had anticipated. They seemed to all be very excited, truly pleased.
And so we moved into our usual celebration for the new moon. We had prayer and all the offerings. I pulled Nole aside then to tell them that they should choose a name for use in the group. It was a safety measure. That they should let no one else know their true name. They asked for time to think on it and I granted this, of course. I also let them know that they would have space made for them in the Nest, should they have a need or desire to spend time there.
Then I had my time with Zethith and discussed the new member and they granted the enchantment of entrance to Nole.
It was after that meeting that Tanur asked for a reward. He seemed to think that having recruited someone new, he deserved another reward.
I want him to be happy, so I obliged.
I have no desire to return to Mournhold just yet. Let me have a day to rest. The Three know I could use it after last night.
