For Carmela Caballero, caring for plants goes beyond just tending to them—it’s about creating the right environment. "The basics are soil, sunlight, water, and fertilizer," she explained. While her mom handles checking the soil and monitoring plant health, Carmela focuses on watering. "My mom taught me how important it is. Watering is a way to give life to the plants."

The Challenges of Manual Watering

Even with experience, Carmela admits there are challenges when it comes to watering by hand. "The hardest part is figuring out how much water each plant needs," she said. Some plants need more, others less, and with her busy schedule, she sometimes forgets to water them altogether.

She also highlighted the risks of both overwatering and underwatering. "Too much water can damage the roots, and too little makes the plants wilt," she pointed out. Unpredictable weather makes it even harder to stay on top of things.

The Potential of Automation

When I brought up the idea of an automated watering system, Carmela was immediately intrigued. "That would be amazing!" she said, imagining how it would make her life easier. "My mom would be thrilled! Her plants would stay healthy, and I wouldn’t have to worry about forgetting."

She envisioned a system that adjusts water levels based on each plant’s needs. "It would free up so much time and take away the stress of over- or underwatering."

The Importance of a Reliable System

Okay, okay. So we’ve seen many a story regarding the Creepypastas, right? Slenderman and Jeff. But what about the Japanese Urban Legends? I mean, Kuchisake-onna, Hachishakusama, Teke Teke, Hikiko-san, Hanako-san, Tanome, Aka Manto, etcetera. Where am I going with this?

BnHA crossover with Creepypasta but focusing on the Japanese Urban Legends because I’m a myth/folklore enthusiast and the idea of a dark AU where Izuku, trying to commit suicide because of everything and everyone that’s come at him because of his being Quirkless (“You can’t be a hero without a Quirk.”), gets taken in by the Japanese Urban Legends who see potential in him.

Yeah, it’s dark, but considering the stories of the legends are pretty frightening, why the heck not? In a world of Quirks, can there even be called a paranormal?

Basically, the Japanese Urban Legends have become mere whispers, and so to keep alive (tulpas) they need people to believe in their stories. So what better way than by a kid that’s trying to prove something?

Michael: Kabalo ko nga dili ka-istorya karon. Hubua imong sapatos.

               Gihubo ni Gaby iyang sapatos nga murag mao gyod to iyang dapat buhaton.

Michael: Gab, duko ra gyod. Ayaw gyod kog tan-awa.

               Niduko si Gaby nga murag kanang ga-worship. Gitangtang niya iyang shades pero dili iyang helmet, rider’s gloves, ug rider’s jacket nga leather.

               Isaka unta ni Gabriel iyang ulo pero—

               Suddenly, para kang Gabriel, Truth to nga statement.

Mike: Gab, help me. Nitoktok akong mga igsuon sa kwarto unya pag-able nako, nangamatay silag kalit pagkita nila sa akoa. Bugün size varoluşsallıktan ne kadar sıkıldığımı ve duyguların beni nasıl esiri altına alıp günlük yaşantımda ani duraksamalara sebep olduğun u anlatacağım. Öncelikle bu kaza yapmış bir kızın dramı değil ya da zorla evlendirilmiş ya da daha kötü şeyler değil. Belki de doğru tanom ergenlikte yaşadığı sıkıntıları geleceğine yansıtan bir kızın hikayesi olabilir.

İlk liseye başladığım da ergenliğimi hisettim neden diye sorarsanız öncesinde nerdeydin diye sanırım o zamnlar fazla inekliklten ve fazla ders çalışmaktan bedensel farklılığı ve zihnimde oluşan değişimi, hissedemedim. Aslına bakarsanız bunu lisenin ilk haftası da hissedemedim. Bana ergenliği hissettiren ilk adım sanırım bir çocuktan hoşlanmak oldu. Tabiki de bu duygulardan haberdar değilim belki de sadece özentiliktir kim bilir. Lise de hep olur böyle şeyler belli popülerlik seviyesine ulaşırsın ve erkekler tarafından beğenilmek liseli bir genç kızın hoşuna gider. Ben bunu isteyenlerden olmadım başta ancak hoşlandığım çocuğun beni red edişiyle belki de farkına vardım. Sadece bir erkek tarafından beğenilmek de yeterli olurdu sanırsam. Çocuğa kesinlikle hak verdiğimi söyleyebilirim hemen kızmayın nasıl rededer diye o zamanalar gerçekten bir kezbandım kendime bakmazdım. Ya aslında bakardım da sanırım lise de olaylar farklı kendine bakmaktan ziyade saçlarını açmak, vücudunu ön plana çıkaracak kıyafetler giymek, makyaj yaparak olgun görünmek ve en çok da erkeklere istediklerini vermek. Evet sanırım doğru telaffuz bu olur eğer bunlara sahip bir kızsanız lise de kesinlikle popülersiniz demek. Ben öyle değildim tabiki erkeklerin istediği türden kızlardan değildim tabiki. Ve sanırım çocuğu fazlasıyla korkutmuş olabilirimç duygularımı ilk defa hissettiğim için mi desem hoşlantıyı kalp kırıklığını nasıl belli edeceğimi bilemediğim için mi desem bilemedim ama 3 sayfalık bir mektup yazdım. Ah hala aklıma geldikçe yüzümde oluşan utancı görmelisiniz. Hadi ama 14 yaşında bir kız için bence alttan almaya değer. Tabi bu dalga konusu oldu. İlk utancımı orada yaşadım. Belki aşk konusunda şanssız diyebilirsiniz ama mükemmel arkadaşlara sahiptim belki de lise de dikkat çekmeyen bir kız olmanın avantajlarından biri de budur her zaman gerçek arkadaşlara sahip olursunuz. Ancak tabiki bu süreç beni o kadar da etkilemedi. Bir şekilde devam ettim. Asıl konuya şimdi giriyorum hayatımda hala şuan bile iz bırakan o kişiye. Acaba şuan da bahsettiğimde bu yazı ona ulaşır mı bilemem ama belki anlattığım şeylerden haberi bile yoktur okusa bile anlamaz belki. Sonra anlık deli cesareti geldi. aslına bakarsanız arkadaşlar bende zaten ondan öncesine kadar cesaret denen şey vardı zaten mektup yazdığım çocukta da bunda da yani gittim sınıfında yakın arkadaşım olan bir kızla konuştum ve ona söylemesini istedim. Ya evet tam bir saçmalık gidip yüzüne söylemeliydim direk. Böyle arkadaş olayları felan cringe fazlasıyla. Her neyse tabi söyledi bu o da gördü beni ama sizce onun gibi biri benim gibi paspal Kezban bir kıza ne yapsın. Tabiki de hayır tabikide red edildim ne diyim o an hayatımda gerçekten asla öyle acı hissetmemiştim hiçbir zaman kalbimin yerini o denli farketmemiş o denli hızlı çarpıntılarını hissetmemiştim. ILOILO CITY – The public has been encouraged to plant vegetables as one way of ensuring food security and supporting the Department of Agriculture’s (DA) Ahon Lahat, Pagkaing Sapat Laban sa Covid-19 (ALPAS) or Plant, Plant, Plant Program.

 “Families are encouraged to plant vegetables using available spaces in their backyard or through improvised containers to address food security during this time of health crisis while most of us are staying in our homes,” DA 6 (Western Visayas) executive director, Remelyn Recoter, told the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Thursday.

The DA has allotted PHP2.6 million for the procurement of vegetable seeds under ALPAS. Since it is still in the procurement process, the target is to distribute the seeds until May 18.

 However, the DA High-Value Crops Program has provided 9,473 packets or 251 kg. of assorted vegetable seeds to individuals and groups in the region since it began distribution on April 2.

To inspire the public to plant, the regional office initiated the “Binhi Ko, Tanom Ko, Post Ko” campaign where those who availed of vegetable seeds from the DA are encouraged to post in their social media account pictures of the seeds or the status of their planting activities.

They can use #postyourown veggies and tag the DA - Regional Agri-Fishery Information Division (RAFID) RFO VI Facebook Account.

“Social media is a promising approach to reach our people, to inspire them or get them involved towards a good cause,” Recoter added.

Those who would like to avail of seeds may get in touch with their nearest agriculture office or the nearest DA Outreach Station.

In a previous interview, Recoter expressed her hope that local government units (LGUs) would include vegetable products in the relief assistance for their constituents.

She said this is possible because under the Bayanihan Act and with the national health emergency, they are already allowed to use their calamity funds.

 “In their food packs, instead of sardines and noodles, hopefully, there are variations,” Recoter said, adding that vegetables can boost the immune system.

She expressed hope that the LGUs would procure the produce of their farmer-constituents so they still have income amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, based on available data, Recoter said Western Visayas remains sufficient in rice, livestock, and chicken.

Rice harvest from January to February and the March projection was at 410,000 metric tons while the region’s quarterly demand is only 262,000 metric tons.

The region is 156 percent rice sufficient, she said.

On the other hand, Western Visayas had a 250-percent sufficiency level in terms of hogs in 2019.

Based on the hog inventory in January, the per capita consumption monthly is less than 1 kg., she said.

The available supply is at 28,000 metric tons and the annual demand is 5,000 metric tons.

“Since there are no more tourists, we have sufficient supply of pork, more than 80 percent of our swine industry is being grown in backyards,” Recoter said.

She said the region has 10,234 metric tons of chicken supply as of the end of March and has plenty of poultry integrators and large poultry farms. (PNA)

Decimosexta semana de bocetos digitales inspirados en el serial radiofónico “Cuando Juan y Tula fueron a Siritinga”

CAPÍTULO 76 - En la tumba de Gearzen Tula se materializa delante de Juan, transformada en un centauro Irygaar. Tula le dice a Juan que su destino se ha cumplido y que ahora le toca a él alcanzar el suyo. Los dos amigos se despiden emotivamente y Segtturo acompaña a Juan a la tumba de Gearcen, donde le esperan El-Jormaz y Zien Reis. Los tres regresan a Siritinga en una nave tranvía, la última con destino al planeta.

CAPÍTULO 77 - Mito Flamynbaar Haragosa es uno de los pasajeros de la nave, que regresa a Siritinga concluida su misión de eliminación de Tanom. En un momento del viaje se cruza con Bibí, el lagarto azul. Juan, El-Jormaz y Zien Reis descubren su presencia en la nave y planean usarlo para conseguir sus objetivos. Juan y El-Jormaz hablan del mito Flamynbaar, que profetiza la resurrección del dragón desde su tumba planetaria.    

CAPÍTULO 78 - Moona recuperada En Laris, frente al espejo de su cuarto, Moona contempla su cuerpo demacrado por las larvas de insectos. Sikarra le informa del progresivo colapso en las infraestructuras del planeta y la deserción de parte del personal. Mientras tanto, en el otro extremo del Desfiladero, la nave tranvía procedente de Gelis se aproxima a Arenas. Juan interroga a El-Jormaz sobre cuales eran sus intenciones al convocarlo a Siritinga, y si sabía que eso le costaría la vida a Tula. El-Jormaz está abatido, y siente que ha perdido su última batalla, pero Juan le promete que él estará a su lado para ganarla.  

CAPÍTULO 79 - ¡¡A por el tesoro en Laris!! En Arenas, Haragosa llega al palacio de Ban Taur, allí ambos conspiran para activar una de las antiguas naves tolkienas y emplearla para huir del planeta moribundo con los tesoros de la nobleza Atar Tingar. En un garito de Arenas, Juan, El-Jormaz y Zien Reis disfrazados de monjes hacen sus preparativos para cerrar el trígono, la conexión mágica entre Gelis y Siritinga que cumplirá la profecía del dragón Flamynbaar. Saben del viaje que Ban Taur y Haragosa pretenden hacer a Laris, y en el camino sobrevolarán la Gran Baarnaal.    

CAPÍTULO 80 - En la nave Tolkiena Haragosa regresa a la nave tranvía para recoger las joyas que le robó al moribundo Tanom, pero dentro del cofre está el lagarto Bibí. El eunuco lo persigue pensando que se ha comido sus joyas, peor es todo una trampa de Zien Reis, que lo hipnotiza haciéndole creer que él, Juan y El-Jormaz son sus guardaespaldas. Después se reúne con su socio Ban Taur, que se muestra suspicaz ante este nuevo séquito y le ordena entregar la carta de ruta en una de las secciones de la nave, mientras él se aloja en otra. Una vez todos están embarcados en la Gran Duna de Arenas se desmorona, destruyendo la ciudad.

CHAPTER 76 - In Gearzen's Tomb Tula materializes in front of Juan, transformed into an Irygaar centaur. Tula tells Juan that her destiny has been fulfilled and that it is now his turn to reach his. The two friends share an emotional farewell and Segtturo accompanies Juan to the tomb of Gearcen, where El-Jormaz and Zien Reis are waiting for him. The three return to Siritinga in a tram ship, the last one destined for the planet.

CHAPTER 77 - Flamynbaar Myth Haragosa is one of the passengers of the ship, who returns to Siritinga concluded his mission of elimination of Tanom. At one point during the trip he crosses Bibí, the blue lizard. Juan, El-Jormaz and Zien Reis discover his presence on the ship and plan to use him to achieve their objectives. Juan and El-Jormaz speak of the Flamynbaar myth, which prophesies the resurrection of the dragon from its planetary grave.

CHAPTER 78 - Moona recovered In Laris, in front of the mirror in her room, Moona contemplates her body ravaged by the larvae of insects. Sikarra informs her of the progressive collapse in the infrastructure of the planet and the desertion of part of the personnel. Meanwhile, at the other end of the Gorge, the tram ship from Gelis approaches Arenas. Juan questions El-Jormaz about his intentions in summoning him to Siritinga, and if he knew that would cost Tula his life. El-Jormaz is dejected, and feels that he has lost his last battle, but Juan promises that he will be by his side to win it.

CHAPTER 79 - Let's go get the treasure in Laris!! In Arenas, Haragosa arrives at the palace of Ban Taur, there they both conspire to activate one of the old tolkenian ships and use it to flee the dying planet with the treasures of the Atar Tingar nobility. In a bar of Arenas, Juan, El-Jormaz and Zien Reis dressed as monks make their preparations to close the trigone, the magical connection between Gelis and Siritinga that will fulfill the prophecy of the Flamynbaar dragon. They know about the trip that Ban Taur and Haragosa intend to make to Laris, and on the way they will fly over the Grand Baarnaal.

CHAPTER 80 - On the Tolkienan ship Haragosa returns to the tram ship to collect the jewels he stole from the dying Tanom, but inside the chest is the lizard Bibí. The eunuch pursues him thinking that he has eaten his jewels, but it is all a trap of Zien Reis, who hypnotizes him making him believe that he, Juan and El-Jormaz are his bodyguards. Then he meets with his partner Ban Taur, who is suspicious of this new entourage and orders him to deliver the route letter in one of the sections of the ship, while he is staying in another. Once everyone is embarked on the Great Dune of Arenas crumbles, destroying the city.
