I am absolutely losing my mind over Mickey being a Fall Out Boy fan!! From Under the Cork Tree is pure poetry! One of the best albums of all time to me! I am just thinking of Mickey crushing on Pete Wentz at the height of his emo-ness! Just like me 🤣 Ugh, and screaming along to their songs! I Slept With Someone! XO! Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner! Get Busy Living!

I don't care if anyone feels like this would be OOC for Mickey. The idea of Mickey getting all emo in his bedroom listening to Fall Out Boy floods my brain with serotonin and that's enough for me lol.

Like, if we just shift the timeline of the whole show back a few years so the events happen at the same ages but the years are earlier, you know Mickey would have been GOING THROUGH IT and that album is such high drama from the second it starts that I can see him easily putting the circumstances of his life into the words and being like "yes Pete, no one understands me like you do!"

IMO Get Busy Living is Mickey's absolute favorite song on the album, and 95% of the reason is the outro and he has screamed himself HOARSE more than once singing along. It's written in notebooks and on scraps of paper and if he went to school it would be scrawled on his binders.

That album was EVERYTHING to me when it came out and I thought Pete Wentz was the most Profound Lyricist in generations lmao. I had the lyrics EVERYWHERE, and even now in my 30s I know every word to every song. It's etched into my brain in an indelible way. I listened to it yesterday and nothing has screamed Mickey Milkovich quite so immediately and insistently as it did!!!!

Oh my god even the whole first verse of I've Got A Dark Alley????

Joke me something awful just like kisses on the necks of "best friends" / We're the kids who feel like dead ends / And I want to be known for my hits, not just my misses / I took a shot and didn't even come close

Okay I've Got A Dark Alley is my hc for Mickey's #2 fave, and if it weren't quite so HEARTBREAKINGLY VULNERABLE it would probably be his #1 but he was still more angry than anything else at the point so Get Busy Living still reigns supreme.

And Mickey is 100000000% a lifer of a fan (we're the lifers, here till the bitter end, condemned from the start...) and I have a feeling Thnks fr the Mmrs hit him HARD when Infinity On High came out (and let's not even START on Bang The Doldrums)

Once they're Together Together I bet Mickey makes a whole plan to get Ian into FOB, too, because he just wants to share them with him!! And Ian likes them, sure, but this is Mickey's BAND. Forever and ever and ever, this is who will always somehow be able to put his feelings into words in a way he didn't think was POSSIBLE.
