Longer answer. While the Canon dynamic with Tamlin and Rhysand's past is interesting and you can make tragic fics with the both as friends or as past lovers, and I do think Rhysand is a little too obsessed with bothering Tammy baby I hate the idea of these two as a couple unless it's a bad end.

There's a few reasons. The simple one is that I hate Rhysand enough to stick him in The Rack from Saw 3 (Don't look that shit up if you're grossed out by heavy gore) with absolutely no remorse and the idea of paring this overhyped asshat bat with my favorite character makes me gag (Same could be said for other Rhysand ships like Feysand, Rhysta, Rhycien, etc)

Another one would be that I hate giving this dude attention. Any acotar merch is made for him and his bat boys. There's literally no Feyre merchandise in Hot Topic all of it it's him, even tho she's supposed to be the MC. I'm so so very sick of him hoggin page time and arcs from the other of infinitely more interesting characters. So when I look for fic if Tamsand or Rhysand are prominent I tend to scroll past even if it's an author I like.

Finally and the heaviest reason for my deep-seated hate of this ship it's one specific scene in ACOFAS. You know the one.

The scene in the novella where Rhysand goes to Spring sees the desolate state of the Court, of Tamlin, of the man who saved him despite their hate for eachother and just goes of on him and tells him to die. It's absolutely disgusting and triggering that I had to throw the thing away and go puke.

After that I can't ship those two in any way shape or form, even if it's an AU where their faling out never happened I just can't get past that scene. Having been in Tamlin's suicidal state once years ago it would disgust me if anyone suggested I get with a person who pushed me down during that time which thankfully for me that didn't happen, but if it had I would've cut ties with them. I can't get over it and just decided to block it out

There are plenty of multishipper creators and even friends of mine who've dabbled in it but I stay the hell away from that ship even if whatever they're in is expertly made. I can't get past the dynamic they have in canon, and my Rhysand hate and the suicide bait scene. If I want Tamlin x another male character I can get that with Tamcien, Tamris, Tamquin and even Tamlin x KoH. Rhysand is the last character I would ever want more content for.

Also call me vanilla but the whole 'bffs/ exes who are torn apart by war' isn't a trope I like much. It's good for certain pairs but not a thing I go for. Hell if I don't care for it with Optimus Prime x Megatron where I love both characters and their falling out is far more balanced, tragic and believable why would I care for it between my fave and the dude I hate and it only being tacked on for Sarah to woobify the shitlord and throw more dirt on Tamlin? It really isn't my cup of tea.

This was like a mini interview; thank you so much for putting it together!! I really had to think for some of these questions hehe.

1. What are some of your favorite shows/movies?

Some of my favorite shows are: The Vampire Diaries, House MD, Interview with the Vampire,Greys Anatomy, Tell Me Lies, Criminal Minds and Hannibal. Lengthy list LOL.

2.What are your favourite books?

I only started reading books less than a year ago so I haven’t read much and nothing amazing really LOL. So this list is embarrassing to say the least BUT I’m working on it!! I’m a big fan of the “The Hunger Games” books, “The Serpent and the Wings of Night”, and ngl the first acotar book LOL.

3. What about movies?

I’m not huge on movies (more of a show person) but “The Hunger Games” movies have a very special place in my heart. A few of the marvel movies as well, specifically “Spider-man: No Way Home” and “Captain America and The Winter Soldier.”

4. Why is Tamcien your favourite ship over other ACOTAR ships?

Ok this this is something I can ramble about hehe. I absolutely love how complicated their relationship is and how despite everything they’re still trying to make it work. like the odds are completely against them but they refuse to let go of one another. They clearly hold so much love for each other and the amount of loyalty Lucien specifically has towards Tamlin just does something to me. I genuinely view them as two ppl who cannot exist without the other (and there’s a slightly toxic element to this which i thoroughly enjoy. SUE ME). I also love all the history they have together and how that history shows as they interact and when they talk about each other. They simply know the other person like the back of their hand. They need each other.

5. Do you ship Tamlin with other characters? What about Lucien?

I ship these two with half of the damn characters 😭. Tamsand/ Tamris/ Feylin. Elucien/ Luzriel/Lucnes. I’m a multishipper to my coreee.

6. Who are your non-ACOTAR otps?

I had to dig DEEP to remember some of these. Dazai/ Chuuya from BSD, Childe/Zhongli from Genshin Impact, Dabi/Shigaraki from MHA, Stefan/ Elena, Klaus/Caroline, Captain America/ Bucky (omg??? i’m unlocking memories), Levi/Erwin from AOT.

Any scenario in which Tamlin shifts into a female or he shifts Lucien into a female and they have very hot sex 😄.The smut would be outrageously hot like walk with me here.

Is it naughty if I say something I’ve yet to post 🫣? bc it’s totally something I’ve yet to post but you’ll see it in two weeks time i swear!!

9. As a writer, what is something that you enjoy when reader other fics?

Good dialogue/banter!! Especially when it comes to characters like Lucien who have that sort of witty personality and comebacks. I love tension, whether it’s sexual or not. I want to be gnawing at my screen when I’m reading. Like fully giggling and kicking my feet. Or screaming and crying.

So my very Dalish Inquisitor gets drawn into a boast-off with Stone-Bear Hold’s Master of the Hunt. :’) His Tevinter paramour most likely finds this ridiculous, but perhaps a tad endearing...

Despite Tamris’ cool demeanor, Dorian’s teasing gets to him more than he’d like to admit, and the elf ends up worrying that his SO, with his fancy-pants noble background might find him embarrassing in all his supposed primitiveness. Confrontation happens later in the Inquisition’s camp.

-”Are you ashamed of me?”

-”Am I what, now?” The mage asks, having no clue what amatus is going on about.

-”That hunter, you thought we were being ridiculous. You must think me an utter savage.”

-Of course you are. It’s part of your charm~.

The elf, a simple man, finds some solace in this, shrugs, chuckles, shakes his head and moves on from such silly concerns.

Eris and Tamlin are secret lovers. Neither of their fathers would approve of their relationship so they often meet in secret. One of their favorite meeting places is under a willow tree by a river that defines the line between Spring and Autumn. They will sit there for hours, Eris with his head on Tamlin's shoulder, just taking a break from their lives. Eris lets Tamlin train and play with his shadowhounds. Tamlin is very good friends with them, and more than once has turned into a shadowhound and freaked the fuck out of Eris when he realised there was one brand new random shadowhound in the litter. Tamlin and Eris are both extremely emotional with each other. Since both of them hide their true colors from their families, and from it have so many pent up emotions. Often they'll sit in bed together and cry about their tears, sobbing into each other's chests, but feeling safer than ever. Eris taught Tamlin to dance; he was very clumsy at first. Couldn't move the same way Eris did, like his muscles were fluid. He stepped on Eris' toes and couldn't stick to the beat properly. But after hours and hours of frustration, Tamlin managed to get through a dance with perfect performance. Matching Eris for his movements as he finally stopped overthinking it. Eris was very proud of him and forced Tamlin to dance at the next ball they attended. Just so he could show everyone that his teaching paid off. Tamlin is a lot taller than Eris, by at least a head. Whenever they get into arguments. Eris will sit on a counter, and if there is no counter nearby, he will stand on a chair or stool so they can be eye to eye. It works but only because Tamlin will be too busy holding in his laughter to argue back. Sometimes Tamlin will show up at Eris' doorstep, bloody and bruised from his brother's. Eris will silently patch him up, wrapping bandages around his wounds and tracing his fingers along his arms and shoulders. Massaging into his muscles before applying balm to bruises. A quiet intimacy, until Tamlin either falls asleep or breaks down and tells him what happened. Whenever Beron tortures Eris, Tamlin will find a way into the Autumn house. Whether by sneaking in through Lucien's old room or going through the tunnel system that leads to the dungeons. Then he will find Eris and bandage him the best he can. He will heal what he can that Beron won't notice and will sing softly to Eris as he holds him. Soothing and calming him the best he can. Tamlin got into wood carving once and tried to carve a shadowhound for Eris. It looks awful, like some kind of deformed rabbit. Eris laughed it off but keeps it on his desk so he can look at it every single day. During meetings and parties, Eris will find Tamlin's eyes, they will stare at each other from across the room. Always watching each other until there is a free moment for both of them. One of them will walk away from the party, shortly followed by the other. They will then quickly find the nearest closet and kiss until there's no more air in their lungs. Tamlin whispering about how much he misses him. Eris will wrap his legs around Tamlin and hold onto him as tightly as he can, before they have to separate and leave each other. Tamlin will show up at Eris' window, hanging from the rail. Eris will say something like "You shouldn't have come here tonight," But Tamlin will respond with, "I wanted to see you." Then Tamlin will kiss him and slip poems he wrote into Eris' pockets so that he 'will think of him all night.' Before disappearing into the darkness. And Eris will be left blushing and feeling like a teenager in love for the first time.

He is the perfect mix of "Pathetic wet kitten" and "Golden retriever" and "Competent at his job" (did you see how he dragged Beron to that war, he is taming brats all over Prythian) with a pinch of monsterfucking on top. How can you resist that?!?!?!?!

He looks like Sam Reid's Lestat with antlers.

Tamsand, Tamris, and Tamcien did happen at least once in the past.

I'm multishiper so I would go with anything. I can't pick my favorite but I can name my least fav one. It's Tamlin x Amarantha. (Sorry mutuals) But there are better options for Tamtam than her. (She really lost me with that stupid riddle sorry).

But I do headcanons so.

Mama Spring was from a very old family that didn't do politics. They just chill out in the countryside 'tizm the fuck out of their lives (Tamtam got that tizm rizz from his mama and his mama's side of the family). But on one of the obligatory fea gatherings mating bond snap and fun ended for Mama Spring. All she wanted to do was to hang out with her plants.

Father Spring besides cannon besties with Amaranta and King of Hybern was also definitely fucking KoH (no questions asked). He was the object of Beron's first crush and he also taught Autumn's brat most of the things he now knows. Great at tyranny not great at ruling and developing his land (complete opposite of his son, our best boy Tamtam). A little bit paranoid.

The oldest brother - Daddy's carbon copy but more chill and less paranoid. You don't fuck with him (or get in his way) and he doesn't fuck with you.

The middle brother. Amarantha's original fucktoy but after the war, which left him limping and scared, he lost her attention. Furious with Tamtam for getting it instead. Was responsible for Rhysnad's mother and sister's death - he made a conspiracy with Kier, lords of CoN and Ilyrian warlords. He thought that it would be Tamlin and Rhysand there and would be killed but they didn't. In his mind, Tamlin's death = Amarantha will choose him again.  

If you were transported into the Spring Court right now, what would be your role? (Sentry, Gardener, etc.)

A maid or gardener or Tamlin's unlicensed therapist.

Well then, when both sides of this fandom come for me with the pitchforks, you better be there to defend me.

I may have a soft spot for Azriel because of his past. Since his arc will be with Gwyn, there is a tiny chance of redemption for him. And she is just an angel who has no direct ties with the IC. I mean, Cassian was a monster because Nesta needed to be crucified. Although I am 100% sure that SJM will make Azriel worse for some drama in Elain's story.

Yeah, I don't really have a preference. Use any tag you want.

You'll be fiiiiine, I've had people from both sides of the fandom come for my head before as well. Any attention is good attention in my professional attention-seeker opinion.

I mean, there are two ways the Gwynriel arc could go, 1- Azriel actually turns out to be a good guy 2- Gwyn gets turned into another one of SJM's house wives who all lose their spine and think their man is God's gift to mankind.

And eh, Cassian was a monster from the begining tbh, the flags are all waving red. Plus, SJM didn't feel the need to crucify Feyre, and she still assassinated her character because she had to conform to Rhysand's shitty personality. I feel as though SJM just doesn't know how to write romance at all. She swings so violently between couples having enemyship and then being in a full-blown romantic relationship and the way she resolves arguments between all of them is using sex (especially violent sex for Nesta, and even Feyre was violated by Rhysand)... so for Gwyn who is a recovering SA victim... I am scared for her.

It actually is really horrific now that I think about it, both of SJM's major romances have been the male main character sexually assaulting the female main character in extreme and violent manners, and it's always, always justified by the MMC 'protecting' them.

And considering the fact that SJM considers Azriel the 'kinkiest' of the three batstards, if she thinks literal SA is tame by comparison.... I'm terrified for Gwyn actually.

In the end it comes down to the fact that SJM doesn't know how to properly write romance arcs. I will give credit where credit is due, she's not terrible at foreshadowing, which is why I think Gwynriel is most certainly happening, and I do think out of the three romances, it'll be the most healthy. But in the end, I don't see it being particularly great either.

I also don't like Gwynriel solely for the reason that it means we absolutely getting Elucien... Which terrifies me even more. Free my man Lucien. I would much prefer a Vassien arc (wishful thinking, but my ultimate want is a Tamcien arc but I think we're more likely to get Tamris, than Tamcien.)
