— Even though Tamaki is not one to focus on details, he is very sensitive in the emotional sense of the word. He is someone who also cherishes his friends and loved ones deeply, even if he is a little rough around the edges.

— So overhearing you referring to him as ‘my friend’ while you were being approached by some of the tv staff after your boyfriend had finished filming, really does feel like a harsh pang to his heart.

— ‘Your friend’. Weren’t you two supposed to be more than that? He may not be very knowledgeable when it comes to relationships, but he really thought you were a couple.

— Not knowing how to react, and not wanting to cause trouble for you either, Tamaki storms off, the only indication he was ever there in the first place, the loud slam of the door.

— The sound pulls you out from your conversation, as your eyes scan for your partner around the studio.

He’s not here.

So you excuse yourself, before setting off into the chilliness of the night air.

— Running a list in your mind of likely places he could be at, you decide the most likely is his dorms. Sighing, a little worried, you set off, but not before making a stop first to buy a certain something.

— Careful not to be seen by prying eyes, you finally make it to the dorms. And you know just where to look for your boyfriend.

— On a darkened area of the dorm’s patio, he sits. Knees tucked against his chest, long fingers plucking out some of the grass.

— Now it’s yours the heart that drops. You never liked it when he was sulking.

— “Tama…” you try calling, walking towards him.

No reply follows.

— “Tamaki,” you call him, closer now, touching his cheek with a small glass jar not unlike many you’ve cleaned up before around his room.

— He takes the King Pudding from you, your hand still lingering close to his face.

— “So, I’m just your friend now.” He mumbles, uncapping the pudding. “I really thought we were more than that, [Y/n]. I was happy.”

— “Tamaki…” Your expression saddens, eyes widening. “We are more than that.” You try reaching for his hand. He doesn’t pull away.

— “But you’re an idol, Tama.” Your thumb traces soothing patterns over the back of his hand. “We can’t announce to the whole world that we’re dating, you know.”

— You squeeze his hand, your eyes meeting his sky-blue ones, now more distant, akin to the mysteries hidden in the night above you. “However, that doesn’t mean I love you any less, okay? I’ll buy you King Pudding for every time I have to call you just ‘friend’ if you so wish.”

— He finally raises his head.

“You promise?”

— “I swear, on a year’s worth of King Pudding.” You smile, brushing cerulean strands away from his face.

— “I love you, [Y/n]-chan.” Your boyfriend states. Sometimes you are still amazed at how upfront he is making his feelings known.

— “I love you too, Tamaki.” You utter, leaving a soft kiss to his cheek, as you sit beside him, head resting on his shoulder.

Distant pinpricks of light shift into clear images as your lover names every constellation he knows. You like how his eyes shine while he does so.

— “You have work tomorrow morning though, baby.” He teases now, the usual cheery lilt back in his voice.

He's pouting and you haven't the faintest clue why. Again.

"Tama, what's with that face? Perk up! We're almost at the store and we have to be on our toes as soon as we get in there." You explain, nudging his shoulder as the two of you walked through the sidewalks and streets bustling with life already even though it was fairly early.

"I hate waking up this earlyy.." He rubs his eyes, there were clearly still crust and tiredness in them since he barely got up despite you shaking him so much to the point you nearly considered body slamming him.

"I'm still sorry but we've been planning this for almost a week so its not like you didn't have time to mentally prepare yourself." Letting out a sigh, you wrap your arm around his lest he think about wandering off to go buy king pudding or something else of interest.

A gasp escapes you, seeing there was already a line wrapped around the corner of devoted TRIGGER fans waiting to get their hands on a limited edition signed CD at a vendor that was outside.

You grunt, but still have a look of determination, counting the amount of people in line in comparison to how many CDs they said they were going to sell on social media a few days ago.

Thinking over this for a while has left him with a pout, hand on his cheek while dipping a fry in some ketchup after you bought him food as reward for putting up with your demands.

You on the other hand, was deeply satifisied with the amazing haul you had gotten from both you and his splitting up to buy all your new TRIGGER CDs and merch. Looking over everything, from Tshirts to perfume, a content sigh escapes you, paired with a giddy smile.

"Thank you Tama, you're the best!" You jovially compliment.

He mumbles in response, shoving another fry in his mouth.

Riku doesn’t quite know what to say after that, but he’ll say it a thousand more times if it’d get you to believe him.

He tries to think of what Tenn would do in this situation..

A wave of confusion hits him before any other emotional response to hearing you say that. He raises an eyebrow, looking up to you.

A quiet sound comes out of his throat after you say that. Yamato goes quiet for a moment, before sighing. He chuckles a little in an attempt to take some of the edge off the atmosphere, petting your head.

Tamaki’s brows furrow, walking closer to you, a little closer than necessary.

A pretty simple solution, but this was Tamaki’s way of comforting you. Not that it was bad at all.

Similar to Nagi, Sogo immediately gets anxious thinking about whatever prompted you to say such a thing. He gently grabs your arms, trying his best to look into your eyes and not avert his gaze

“What? N-no! Please don’t think I’ll ever leave you...Did I do something to spur this on?”

While Sogo is mulling over the frequent events that might’ve got this reaction out of you, you muster up the courage to tell him what’s wrong (before he drives himself crazy worrying over what it could be)

“Oh..its that huh?” He goes silent for a moment. Honestly, it wasn’t as bad as he expected, but he still felt the need to come up with a solution.

He was the first of the group to shake your hand and hug you, but when it came to understanding what you were saying, he was a bit stumped. Sure it was certainly some Japanese, albeit broken mostly. He just smiles until it’s Yamato’s turn.

Yamato had a similar reaction, calling Nagi over.

Nagi of course could tell you weren’t Japanese and conveniently knew your native language. He acts as the translator for you and the boys.

“Woooah, that’s so cool you came all the way to Japan!” Riku says, astonished they had international fans.

He smiles at Mitsuki who was equally as amazed. They were so happy they almost hugged each other right then and there.

You could hear Tamaki going ‘wooaaahhh’ behind them.

“Thanks so much for coming! I’ve been a little interested in studying your language myself.” Sogo says. “Being multilingual is an impressive skill. Your Japanese is pretty good, keep working on it.” He says while shaking your hand.

“Hey can you like, speak some of your language for us?” Tamaki asks casually.

Tamaki called out into the seemingly empty apartment as he closed the door behind him.

“We’ll be right there, Tamaki!”

Wiping his shoes on the doormat, Tamaki stayed near the front door while taking moment to look around the interior.

The small apartment was decorated warmly, with touches of decor that were definitely picked out by (Y/N) themself.

Various knickknacks and souvenirs were arranged throughout the apartment; a good portion familiar to Tamaki.

“It’s Tama-nii’s Limited Edition Osama Pudding Pouch!! It can hold up to three puddings at a time.”

“No way!!”

“Yup! (Y/N) taught me how to crochet and then helped me make it.”

They began to fake cry in an absurd fashion, signaling to Tamaki that they were not serious.

Still, he was confused about what they were hinting at.

After glancing at his pudding pouch again, it appeared that he had finally understood what (Y/N).

“Aaah, sorry (Y/N)-chan— I didn’t even grab any pudding for myself on the way here so I don’t have any for you.”

(Y/N) blinked in disbelief.

They let out a sigh, “Nevermind..”

Stepping into the kitchen, (Y/N) produced an ousama pudding from the fridge and threw it into Tamaki’s awaiting hands.

Tamaki continued to stare quizzically at (Y/N) as Aya re-entered the hallway.

“I got all my stuff.”

(Y/N) leaned on the counter, “Even your bracelets?”

Aya crouched on the ground as she begun to put on her shoes.

They quickly looked away without a word, awkwardly slinking into the kitchen to avoid further eye contact.

Aya stood up, tugging at her brother’s sleeve to signal she was ready to go.

Tamaki glanced down at his sister before resting a hand atop her head.

“Wait outside for a little, okay Aya? There’s something I gotta talk to (Y/N) about.”

(Y/N) shifted uncomfortably, deciding to occupy their fidgety hands with the dirty dishes.

“Okay, but hurry up. It’s getting late.”

With a ruffle of the hair, Aya exited the apartment and waited by the door, occupying herself with her phone.

Tamaki walked onto the kitchen tile, standing directly behind (Y/N) who was now rewashing the last plate several times over.

“Doing what?”

Tamaki let out a frustrated sigh before spinning (Y/N) to the face him, hands firmly gripping their hips.

(Y/N) fiddled with their fingers, stalling for time.

Despite his impatience, Tamaki continued to wait for (Y/N)’s answer.

The longer the two had been friends, the more they grew to understand and adapt to each other’s tendencies.

(Y/N) had learned not to take Tamaki’s aloofness to heart.

Tamaki had learned what it looked like when (Y/N) wasn’t voicing their troubles.

“I just… I worked really hard to get the right supplies and figure out how to crochet before I could teach Aya and then figuring out a pattern that would fit three pudding jars…”

‘And you didn’t even acknowledge me.’

(Y/N) felt frustration tears coming on.

‘This is stupid, I never should have said anything.’

Another habit that Tamaki had become familiar with was (Y/N)’s tendency to close up after voicing their emotions.

He had even asked Sogo what he could do to help them better express their true feelings.

“Wh.. What can, I do, to help right now?”

The words were clunky coming out of Tamaki’s mouth but he planned on getting used to them.

A minute of silence passed by as (Y/N) concentrated on processing their feelings into words.

The steady support around their hips provided by the comforting hands of Tamaki helped to ground (Y/N) through their train of thought.

“I think just telling you made me feel better. Since now you know I put a lot of effort into this surprise...”

Tamaki’s face remained neutral as (Y/N) shrunk into themself out of embarrassment.

“And I already told you so that’s that!” (Y/N) stammered out a last ditch effort to save their pride.

“It’s getting even later now so-“

“That’s all?”

Tamaki tugged (Y/N)’s hips towards him, successfully pulling them into his chest.

Replacing his previous grip was a hand atop their head and a hand on the small of their back.

“…Huh?”

“I knew you helped Aya make my gift..”

He began to knead at (Y/N)’s lower back in a way he knew they found relaxing.
