Exciting News! Tamagotchi Connection 20th Anniversay Re-release!

Aaaaah, for the Tamagotchi Connection 20th anniversary, they’re re-launching the connect v3 with 6 gorgeous shell designs to choose from! Currently, they’re open for pre-orders through Amazon (link). Their official date of release will be the 9th of July, 2024!

For Christmas, I got myself a tamagotchi v1 because #nostalgia. But I found out that if you feed your tama snacks, it gains 'too much' weight and dies. And that's so fucked up

When I was younger, I had tamagotchis but they were versions 2 and above. So I'm not sure if this is just for the tamagotchi v1 re-releases or if it was like that before too

i have actually! i just got the tamagotchi angel re-release and it's pretty interesting. it's my first time playing with an angel so getting used to the quirks was half of the fun. it's so very different from normal tamagotchi gameplay that i was concerned i was doing it wrong.

having to feed them candy to keep their angel power up as high as possible and discipline not mattering so much is very strange. i was going crazy thinking i was somehow missing their beeps for attention but they just straight up don't beep when they're doing a good deed? you just have to constantly be looking at the screen or get lucky to praise them in time and that's kinda hard to get used to. i swear i was holding it in my hand like all morning and afternoon yesterday and didn't see it do a good deed once.

it's also kind of funny how they don't poop unless they do a good deed. i guess it makes sense they don't poop much since they're angels but it makes less sense that they only shit after praying. what did they mean by this?

the gameplay loop is basically just keeping their AP up and tapping the shell when bats swoop in while you feed them candy and hoping you get lucky enough to see them doing a good deed so you can praise them. obviously getting their effort up by playing the game too but that's a given. it seems the meta is actually getting bad care characters since that's more difficult with how low maintenance and easygoing this pet is.

anyway i love it! the characters are all super cute and i got the exact path i was hoping for with kuri-ten and futago-tenshi. it's nice having cute little angels in your palm. haibane raising sim. the little twin angels are reki and rakka to me...

Personal because this is really me and my games centered so if you dont give a fuck more power to you tbh

Im gonna delete the ghostbur tamagotchi. Even though I personally see his dsmp character (and all dsmp characters) as completely different to the cc, having a whole game revolving completely around him just doesnt feel right.

The biggest conflict i faced with this is the fact im really proud of this game, coding and graphics wise, so, Im entertaining the possibility of re-making it with another character, not even a dsmp character, just any character.

Which, obviously, is just a ton of work i will put myself under just for the selfish fact that i want people to enjoy and see what ive made.

You can send me asks about what character you would like or what a huge baby im being for wanting this 👍

Character pattern will change, although currently im not sure at which extent. Depends on what happens with certain ccs that are also featured there.

My current thought is either just take out his level or divide the levels into different games. That way, if I end up having to take out multiple levels, it's way easier.

And of course, i am also entertaining the thought of re-using the code and making it with another character, maybe fulfilling my want for a hermitcraft/life series bullet hell.

The real irl problem with editing a game and putting it back up is that I have to pay game maker for it, so the release will have to wait until i have money again. Which should be soon!

Thankfully, i have griangotchi if i have to erase tommygotchi, and i dont really care about the petting game lmao, even though it has given me great joy by other people enjoying it.

Doomsday sim is really dsmp characters centered, so currently, it stays. Also I wanted to remake it anyway but turns out making 2 games with an engine you barely know with a language you dont know is way too difficult!

I really enjoy making fan games.

Today's project centered around the new Tamagotchi Connection 2024 re-release. I never had one of these back when they first came out, and all of the tama people on the subreddit seem to love it. But! I really don't like any of the shells available in the US. So I waited for the Japanese release and ordered the melon soda shell; it has a pleasant teal color with subtle glitter effect that makes it lovely and pearlescent.

Thay said, I don't really care about melon soda, so I opted to scrape off the little decals, buff out the scratches, and use some nail art stickers to make the shell into a koi pond.

I'm quite pleased with it!

I am really impressed with the gameplay of the Mori de Hakken Tamagotchi (aka Morino Tamagotchi)!! I don't even like bugs and I find this Tama so charming ✨ It's so satisfying to watch him do his buggy thing and save him from predators 💜

This is Kabutotchi. He's based on a rhinoceros beetle. He's obtained from the Polka dot egg and is recommended for a beginner. He's pretty easygoing and low maintenance, but he's only 5 years old atm so we'll see how that goes down the line 🤔

They really need to re-release this Tama... I'd love one in English and I'm soooooo sick of the P1/P2s they keep releasing 😭

A couple of weeks ago ive found the re-releases of the tamagotchi connection at a bookstore so I decided to pick one up. So far I'm on the second generation with my gozarutchi Danna.
