If you want to change your habits, let God change your heart. Hebrews 12:1-2 NLT … let us strip off every weight that slows us down … We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus ... God, give me more of what does matter. Ecclesiastes 4:6 Better one handful with tranquillity than two handfuls with toil and chasing after the wind. The most meaningful things in life are not things. Because I have Jesus, I have enough. Philippians 4:12-13 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Purpose and Joy 2 Corinthians 8:1-4 And now, brothers and sisters, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord’s people. 2 Corinthians 8:5 MSG ... The other giving simply flowed out of the purposes of God working in their lives. 3. Closeness With God 2 Corinthians 8:7 But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving.
