this may be too much to ask but do you have a tut on how to draw turtles in the mm style?? (or just at all my ass is suffering. i need to draw tmnt but my brain doesnt know how :c)

Sure ! I’ll try my best to explain (I made one after the first tottmnt trailer came out it’s outdated so I’m remaking it)

If you’re talking abt mm movie style , I don’t think I’m skillful on them enough to make an art tutorial 😭💔they’re hard for me to draw too

Info on keep reading :D !!

- I take hundreds of screenshots + download promo art and a create collage of it , use it as a ref sheet. I study on the shapes , proportions , and style of each character.

- Then I pick an image from the pile to see if it’s a good pose (if not, I find poses from other resources to draw) or expression I want to use as reference for my drawing

- then I start sketching , adding the sharp details . Clean up on lineart and color later

Other Notes :

- Tales of the TMNT artstyle uses sharp sketchy lines to give it that sketchbook artstyle

- In some frames from the show, Their eyes are pentagon shaped & pupils are not fully colored in. Mask tails have different styles too

- Each turtle not only have different headshapes , they have different plastron shapes too (these are fugly examples I accidentally deleted the OG layer of this and had to redo it LMAO)

- Looking at Tales crew art also rlly helps! (There’s a lot of them on the #/talesofthetmnt tag on insta & twitter)

the Tales of the TMNT artstyle is easy to nail imo , it’s like more of a simpler version of the rise of the TMNT artstyle if that make sense ?? That’s how I personally feel lololol

If you never drawn TMNT before , just go slow on your art process , look at references, & take your time . Draw the characters in your own style first if you want :] just to feel more comfortable and less stress trying to replicate the iteration’s style . overall , have fun <3

East River mutants eye redraw

so any of you wonder what their eyes look like? Well here it is now,

Lee’s eyes are bright blue and slotted almost like a cat or snakes.

Mustangs eyes are hot pink with the pupils blob like.

Goldfin’s eyes are golden orange and his highlights are huge.

The sea anemones a have huge fish like eyes just like realistic fish.

★...sooo- erm, a little thought came to my mind about a potential cross over between ROTTMNT x TOTTMNT - And this crossover basically involves around two characters erm.

Specifically, 'Rise Of The TMNT' 's Baron Draxum and Tales Of The TMNT' 's Bishop.

|☆| Now, I know that the only characteristics that we got for 'TOTTMNT' 'S Bishop is that she is some sort of the main antagonist of the series and that she wants for all mutant's to go extinct in order to keep humanity safe. However, that is also quite similar to Draxum's motive in 'ROTTMNT' where his goal is destroy, or to mutate man-kind so that the Yokai in the mystic realm can roam around freely in broad daylight without the disturbance of humans. |★| Both of these motives are tied with the reason for their villainy and another similarity that can be acknowledged is that they have caused more harm than good. Well, at least - Draxum has, which resulted into him getting on the wanted list in Hidden City, but it is mentioned somewhere in Bishop's character bio that her motive 'may just bring harm towards humans' ..or something like that. |☆| Though, the main the difference between their goals is that- they are exact opposite- with Bishop wanting to bring down mutants and Draxum wanting to destroy all humans.

★So, with that being said, if they ever met- erm. There would be some sort of a beef between the two- or at least some sort of an argument. Or maybe they would empathize with each other just for a brief moment, maybe two, since they both have similar motives and such. I don't know how to elaborate further. It's just a cool idea to have I guess. ★
