Doodle dump thing - the ones with a white background are phone doodles from a couple months ago that I decided to include because why not.

So Shaymin was my favorite Pokemon for soooooo long when I was younger and I was OBSESSED with it, especially Sky Forme Shaymin lol. The shiny Shaymin here (Land Shaymin next to her is also meant to be her) is an OC that I've kinda sorta had since I was very young that I've decided to bring back.

I also finally tried to draw my take on/interpretation of Shadow the Hedgehog. It really was about time I drew him........despite not being that big of a Sonic fan, or even playing any games that heavily featured him, one day little baby me just realized how cool he looked/was and it was all over lmao

The other character heavily featured here is my OC Penumbra (he/she), who is a......don't have a name for his species yet.........but she's from my very own extremely self-indulgent fantasy universe/headworld. Which. Well. One day young me had the thought of "what if Shadow the Hedgehog but Night Fury" and I have never been the same since LOL. That idea evolved into "Shadow the Hedgehog but part Night Fury*" and then eventually into "OC heavily inspired by Shadow the Hedgehog and Night Furies but clearly different enough to be his own thing rather than just an AU version or complete rip-off of a character/species".....and after years and so so many attempts, that eventually led to this design that I'm really liking atm. Who knows how I'll feel about it in a week or so though lol.

*Included some ollllllld art of this to show just how much my art skills (and character designing skills) have improved. I think it's very cool to see just how far I've come in my art journey, and if you're a new artist who happens to see this I hope it inspires you to not give up!

More art and lore/ideas for my cringe fantasy universe 💚 (I promise I'm working on more dragons stuff but I'd really like to start branching out more and drawing other things more often!)

Trying to figure out how to draw humans so that I can actually make a design for Arnar that isn't just a vague concept....not sure if anyone even really remembers him LOL but that's okay since I've changed things anyway. The biggest change is that I've decided to give him the ability to use a form of magic. Specifically I imagine his magical alignment/abilities allow him to properly work with ingredients/things that have magical properties to make unique and powerful concoctions and special equipment/items/etc.. Basically a magical crafter sort of thing. I also kinda like the idea of him having some sort of magical trait/ability that allows him to more easily befriend and/or communicate easier with the more magical creatures of the world but idk.

Anyway I imagine he still ends up living in the woods and befriending the creature™ and all that but this post is already getting a little long soooo...!

Worked a bit more on Apex's design too, instead of going with the peregrine falcon inspired markings I'll probably just make his wings dark with subtle lighter markings because honestly I think it looks better + it has those NFury vibes lol.

Also kind of a relatively big change but....! What if bigender AFAB he/she Apex....? Could tie into how I imagine her species is generally pretty accepting of nonbinary genders and how many hedgehog-bird-people societies might have many different gender roles. Like idk, I want to have a diverse cast of characters in my universe and while they may be such a silly meme idea I'm attached to my hedgehog-bird-critter-people and want to make them actually interesting and not just *insert irl culture here* with one minor change or just fluffy humans with an animal behavior/trait or two slapped on lmao

Haven't posted in a little while so here's another update on one of my current non-AF WIPs - Vurjo's* ref!

Coming up with a full design for him that I'm truly happy with, and actually being able to draw that design, has been SUCH a huge struggle but I feel like I'm finally getting there!!! Like for real this time lol.

ibisPaint X says I've spent over 26 hours total with this damn file open and there's no telling how many more hours I'll have to spend on it before I'm satisfied - I still have soooo many things I need to add/redraw/tweak/etc. but I refuse to give up! Especially since like I said I really do feel like I'm finally getting somewhere.

But anyway damn I have no idea how to draw feathered wings.....wanted to make a sort of hybrid wing shape between a peregrine falcon and a common swift so I just went fuck it and traced images of the two species's wings and went from there lol. Not sure if I'm 100% happy with the it currently but it's a start at least.

Drawing their face from the front was also very difficult, took me hours even with multiple guides but at least I did eventually succeed. Leg(s) from the side has also been a struggle and idk what I'm going to do for the front view since the specific guide I'm using doesn't really have that but I'm sure I'll figure something out.

(*Also I've kinda mentioned this before, but due to various things I'm tempted to change his name to Apex or something lol)
