Prolouge
Kwon Y/N had never been the type to take risks. A quiet office job, a tiny apartment, and weekends spent with takeout and TV dramas—that was her routine. It wasn’t exciting, but it was safe.
Until one day, she realized just how much burden she's been holding.
So, she and her bestfriends booked a flight to South Korea to unwind— a place they’d always dreamed of but never had the courage to visit. It was meant to be a grand adventure, but unexpected things happened and now she's flying alone.
She proceed with their booked Airbnb online, a charming flat owned by someone named “Lee”
What she didn’t expect was for that “Lee” to be THE Lee Dong Wook—the actor whose face had graced her TV screen more times than she could count. He wasn’t just famous; he was effortlessly charming, annoyingly handsome, and unexpectedly kind. But most of all, he was real.
As their paths entwined in the bustling heart of Seoul, Y/N couldn’t help but wonder: could someone like her ever belong in his glittering world?
She came to Seoul to escape her loneliness. What she didn’t know was that fate had other plans. Plans that could either heal her heart or shatter it completely.

A/n: IM STILL UPSET, man Korean dramas really know how to fuck you up.Also I’m sorry if I fuck up, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve watched this show.
BUT NOT HERE!
This is just gonna be a pure, short fluff fic because he deserves to be happy.
It felt like a knife to his heart, you. The woman he loved, his soul mate had just found out what he was.
A Gumiho, something he tried so hard to hide, something he wanted to keep hidden from you. He was doing his best to stay calm, to keep his emotions at bay but he didn’t want to lose you.His was angry, angry at himself for keeping something this big from you but most of all he was scared.
What would he do if you walked out of his life?
Keeping his head low he did not think he could meet your gaze, he did not want to see the fear and disgust on your eyes so when he felt your hand pet his head his eyes widened with shock.
“Silly man, you think something like this would stop me from loving you.” You whispered, a small smile on your face as you watched Lee’s knees buckle, the man, your nail tailed fox collapse in your arms. His arms wrapping around your waist, hugging you close as he pressed his face into your stomach.
“Y/n.”
His name was barley a whisper on his lips but you knew how much this meant to him. A light chuckle escaped your lips as you continued to run your fingers through his hair, it felt so soft between your finger tips.
Closing his eyes, Rang felt like he was enjoying this a bit to much. It felt too good not to enjoy this, you playing with his hair did a wonderful job at calming down but perhaps he was enjoying himself a bit to much causing him too lose control of his glamor to fail. Large ears adorned on top the man’s head, a large tail nearly wrapping around body.
A laugh escaping your lips feeling the fluff of his tail brush your back. You had the sudden urge to touch his ears.
“You can.” Rang murmured, he was avoiding your gaze, his cheeks burning.
Grinning you eagerly reached up to touch his ears. You never thought you could feel something so soft, Rang’s holding you tighter as he kept his face buried into your stomach. This felt good, too good and he was sure he’ll make this up to you later.
After your head pats of course.

Eternity
Requested by anonymous: Hello there, I see your requests are open so can you please do a Lee Rang x Female reader story. Pretty please. With a happy ending for the reader with Rang.
Pairing: Lee Rang x fem!reader
Word Count: 844 words
Warnings: none, I think
Lee Rang watched from a distance, his eyes trained on your form. He hadn't met someone like you before nor could he guess what you were.
Your hair was pulled into a high ponytail, hanging down to your feet and you wore black and green robes. A sword hung on your waist and Rang wondered how you got it. You were his age, only 16 or 17 years old, and he doubted that you had already earned it at that age.
"She's a goblin." A voice behind him spoke and he looked up to see his older brother, who was also looking at you. You seemed to have heard him, turning your head and connecting your eyes with Rang's. They were a bright golden color, reflecting with the light that shone on your face. You didn't move your gaze, keeping it locked on Rang before smiling at him.
"Didn't think foxes lived here." You spoke, your voice holding a taunting melody that made Rang shiver slightly. You turned around fully, taking slow steps to the pair of brothers until you stood in front of them completely. Bowing your head to Lee Yeon first, you greeted him with respect as he was the ruler of the mountain. Then you turned to Rang, smiling brightly once more.
"Aren't you a cute one." You spoke, leaning down slightly to reach his height before patting his head.
"Might I steal this one?" You looked at the older man, who only nodded before disappearing from sight, and leaving you and Rang behind. You turned back to the younger.
"What do you want?" He asked and you couldn't help but scowl at him. "Watch your tone, I'm older than you." You said and Rang frowned, asking your age. You were two years older than him, of course.
"So, do you know any good food places around here?"
"You look ridiculous, noona." "Have you seen yourself, Rang?" You replied and the fox looked down at his clothes with a frown. He was dressed in denim and other bright clothes, socks pulled over the bottom of his jeans. His hair was covered by a beanie and his eyes by sunglasses that looked like they were made a thousand years ago.
"At least I look in fashion, noona. You look like you're wearing the same clothes as when I met you." He replied and you scoffed, pulling your dress up slightly with a smile.
"I like these, that's the important part. Besides, those jeans are itchy." You pulled at his pants, snickering when Rang pushed your hands away.
The market was fun to be, reminding you of the markets you went to as a kid. The joy of the children that ran around, the vendors loudly yelling out for anyone to come to their stalls and of course the smell of food. You missed it every day, so coming to the market once seemed like a fun thing.
"Right, how is that girl you found? Yuri, was it?" You asked and Rang nodded, shrugging afterwards. "She's hiding in her room, still. Last time she hissed at me. Can you believe it?" He said and you laughed.
"It'd do the same if I could."
"Okay, what about this?" You asked, getting out of the changing room in burgundy dress. It was an off-shoulder dress, the sleeves poofy and reaching to your wrists, and the bottom part was more flowy, reaching to your knees. In the middle was your corset, a black design with golden flowers stitched into it. Lee Rang looked up from his phone, staring at you from the couch before nodding at you.
"No commentary this time?" You asked and Rang scoffed at you, putting his phone down. "It looks good, no more to say." He said and you smiled, hopping closer before leaning down.
"It doesn't look beautiful?" You asked, trying to get a reaction from him. Unfortunately, he had outgrown the shyness in the last years and thus barely reacted. But you did see the corner of his mouth twitch and this said enough for you.
"Thank you." You smiled at him before hopping back to the changing room and changing back in your own clothes. Once out, you pulled Rang along to the cashier.
"I'll pay." Rang said and you wanted to protest, but the girl at the cashier interrupted you.
"What a nice boyfriend you have. Wish I had one like him." She said, eyes turning to Rang in what seemed to be some sort of seduction. Rang didn't even look at her as he scanned his card.
"I wish you good luck in finding someone like that." He then spoke before pulling you along, arm thrown around your shoulders as he carried the bag in his hand.
"So, you're my boyfriend now?" You asked and he laughed softly, pulling you slightly closer to him.
"We've already kissed and slept with each, doesn't that qualify at this point?" He asked and you pushed his head away before kissing his cheek. You skipped ahead of him slightly, still holding his hand as you turned back to face him with a smile.
"I could spend an eternity with you as my boyfriend."

Beneath the Veil + Headcanons | The Upper Three Moons
Word count: 3237
Setting: Uppermoons x kitsunefemreader! (new addition to the Upper Moons)
Content Warnings: mentions violence/gore
Summary: the newly inducted, fourth moon introduced to the Upper Three Moons.
A/N: So, because the kitsune has a tendency to play back and forth from good to bad in Japanese folk tale, I chose to base the reader off of kumiho, the Korean fox demon as they are more prone to being depicted as maneaters).
The delicate hues of ambered glows that emerged from the darkness. Struct to life with a single cord, a note plucked from the night that gave birth to thousands of flames as though called damning phantoms to their duty. Cast to spent eternity in hell, guarding the depths of the hallway through the infinity castle. Glows that echoed across infinity, danced upon shadows across tatami mats. Traced silhouettes upon silk bound by lacquered panels. Deep walnuts met exquisite shades of wood that elicited the envy of foreign porcelain. Delicate as they were immaculately selected a testament to the lord of hell himself, soaked in the blood of innocents that had built the unattainable fortress; soaked with an ominous glow that threatened to snub the life of those who entered its corridors.
Each strike upon a chord a threat that abducted its victims from their refugee, dragging them to the depths of hell to answer their master’s call. A sharp note that once bore warmth, now a whisper of death’s welcome, the musician’s long lanky fingers danced across the strings. Nails gouged notes that screamed of treachery. Hair reminiscent of ink spilled in vein, dreams that would never attribute to any merit, music drowned by the depths of night to never be heard in the light of day as etched into the instructions upon her skin, and guided her siren calls. A single strum far more than capable of calling forth the undoing of man, devoid of emotion in each calculated placement. The upper ranks each a preference of their own space, save for the few.
The attendees less than they had been in prior attendance, the caution she bid with each press of her rouged lips in greeting to the newly arrivals. The first Upper Moon savoring his space, and secrecy as he so often craved. A figment of past eras, poised as the markets that etched upon his skin and refined as the well-practiced long fingers that tipped the lavish ginseng tea to his lips. The lush spread of black hair that captured the envy of the night draped upon his shoulder. The compose straight of his back, perpendicular to the floor beneath him, his ankles tucked beneath him as straight as the line that formed at his lips. Content to himself, the notes of melancholy are a mere tune to enjoy in sacred solitude.
Unlike the bickering of the two upper ranks before the biwa player. The second moon quickly seeks out the company of the third. Sunkissed hair, as pale as bright as the sun’s rays that met against sheltered, porcelain skin. Dewy flesh as soft as imported cotton, as lavish as freshly spun silk that met the highs of his thick ebony eyebrows. Playful iridescent eyes that captivated the light delighted in hues of kaleidoscope twinkled as they toyed with their prey. The number of his ranking etched into his irises. The wave of his hand jovial despite the tense atmosphere, and his voice as harmonious as the false kindness touched upon his features. Subtle childlike expressions that concealed the vile aspects of his personality, mocked sympathies as he whispered concerns to the stress lines that blossomed at Akaza’s brow. The tilt of his head projecting artificial concern, “Ah, I was so sad to hear of Hantengu and Gyokko.” Cooed as the way he attempted to draw near the Third Moon, the equip of betraying his façade. “I was so worried about you Akaza.”
A mere growl the only evidence of speech dormant within the tense expression bore by the redhead. His doll-like crimson eyelashes furrowed dripping with spit as he averted his eyes from the taunting blight. The markings at his brow crinkled, and creased at the highs of his cheeks, the shade of midnight etched into his flesh. Wrinkled at the grit of his teeth, the amber of his emblem eyes quivered at the clench of his muscles. Restrained trembles resolved agitation confined to the hierarchy embroiled on his mind from the prior meeting of the upper kizuki. The small growl of at the base of his throat, threatening the vein that drew at his temple. “Oh dear, Lord Aka, you’ll wrinkle,” the predatory nature in which he considered drawing his nail at the outer marking upon the Third’s cheek, with draw upon the strike of a biwa cord resonating within his bones. The corner of his lips rid of any tease of concern, elicited amusement and joy. His canines revealed as the happiness emulated his features, “My, my, it would seem our new little fourth has arrived, I’ve heard rumors. I’m so excited to meet Lady [YN]. To think, she is so close to acquiring your rank, Lord Aka—” Shattered fist that drew upon the bottom of the Second Moon’s jaw. Snapped bones fragmented and teeth that struck the floor. Splatter of black blood, followed by the press of silence. The delight warm in the demon’s eyes despite the dislocation of his jaw torn from the hinges of his skull.
“Akaza,” slow and stern. Deep and rich, drawn authority. “You will show respect.”
The hum of his voice resignation in the quiver of his shoulders. The touch upon his vest offering no concealment, exposed to the calculating gaze of Doma, who merely delighted in the well place fear of his subordinate. The growth of his jaw snapped and grotesque as the grin that met at his teeth. “Ah, Lord Kokushibo, you’re so considerate, but please, we wouldn’t want to scare the little Fourth Moon.” Mocking, and depraved of sincerity the glint upon his gaze, a den of wolves at all angles. The first moon merely detached and appraising the arrival, the Third posed and ready threatened at the new arrival while the second merely delighted at his unease. Satisfied as the clank of the koma-geta intentionally drummed to the slants of the wood. Each step deliberately falling in line with music unheard by the remainder of the Moons.
“Oh, don’t mind me,” warm and harmonious as the steps that echoed upon the wood flooring. Rouged lips as vibrant as blood matched only by the hue lingered upon your gaze. The compelling marking of your ranking etched into your eyes, drawn to predatory slants. Movements fluid and as the sway of your hips, unbothered by the delicate embellishments, gifts of slayed lovers catching in the lantern glows. Luminescent as the fires within your eyes, the pout of a smile forming, at the reveal of your upper thigh, the fold of your kimono exposing skin to the night air. Shoulders born, the draw of your hair long and luxurious. Intricately weave and revealing the lavish nature of odango, curled upon impossible lengths, questionable so, and hinting upon the figments of magic as the press of the fan, a false pretense of a docile woman. Conveying only one that cultivated your pray, drew attention to the depths of your clavical and the heave of your breast, as well as the canine that revealed in your smile more than enough to elicit the wrinkle of the Third’s nose, and the further grit of his teeth. Demure and coy as the roll of your shoulder in a mock bow, the bend of your knees in greeting to the Upper Tier moons. The curl of tails falling at your back, toyed upon the steps you drew forward in greeting, poised in charm. The plush of your tails, traced upon by Kokushibo counting as they swayed, unable to conceal the nature of your being. The dangle upon the hair pins, harmonious, and musical each pitch falling upon the screams of torn lovers devoured in the dead of night on a rendezvous turned blood bath. The draw of their appeal tempting Doma to curl his fingers from one specific one. A delicate one, intentionally placed, as fragile as blown glass. Aged and polished, bearing an unspoken significance standing apart from the others as revealing as the smile Doma bore the callous of his finger drawing to allow its jingle.
The snap of your fan swift, a clatter that drew Lord Kokushibo’s many eyes, observation and traced upon movements nearly missed upon Akaza’s. The threat poised in your stature, revealing the concealed lethality as your fan cupped under the Second’s chin forcing his jaw and his attention to your own. “Careful, I’m not certain you can afford my services.” Delicate and struck upon the biwa cord intended to maintain the façade of seduction slipped between venom.
“Oh my,” Doma purred despite the obvious tension of disarray upon the Infinity Castle, predators poised, and mistrustful. None among you willing to entrust yourselves with one another, and such clear disrespect while portrayed as playfulness etched into unspoken territories. “They say, little foxes never reveal their true selves.” Delighted and warmed, allowing his chin to press into the fan at the quip of his grin growing dark and sinister as they traced the guarded the embellishment, “but there is always something that gives them away.”
Beneath the Veil Headcanons | Kokushibo, Doma, and Akaza
Initially, your presence has agitated Akaza. He places a significant importance upon his battle prowess, and any new addition to the Upper Moon draws his focus. Most commonly, it’s because he desires a challenge.
Adores the opportunity to combat a new opponent, especially one who is immortal, and able to rise night after night, and free him from his boredom.
However, in your case, the flow of your pride, and the confidence in each of your steps elicits his ire. The draw of your rouged lips, touched upon intentionally placed laughter, callous and artificial as the Second Moon’s, and at first, your resemblance to the upper rank is more than enough grounds for Lord Akaza to hold you in contempt.
The ranking just below his, he thinks, no is confident that he could eliminate you from the rankings if not for his Achilles heel. A woman amongst the Upper Ranks, while not impossible, or something he has not happened upon before, yet the dire situation that the Demon forces have found themselves against the Slayers, the opportunity to evade your existence as he had Nakime, and Daki is unlikely.
Close quarters, and frequent meetings he is stuck with the eyesore (you), and he is bitter. Aware that finding another replacement for the Upper tier will only elicit Muzan’s ire, and so he is left with little choice but to accept the stain of your smile upon his night.
Endure the taunting and teasing, regardless how much his skin recoils at the linger of your touch. Internal war, if only you were a male his stance would be far simpler.
Though of course, as a newly inducted Moon, you are unlikely aware of his aversion to women, and it’s easy to take such slights personally. Just as the way you conduct yourself leaves the impression that it is fully your intention to toy with him, only furthering his contempt.
Yet, as time goes on, and small details of each of your pasts, or positions are revealed whether in little slips of having to frequent each other’s territories, or one slipped from Doma, who just delights stirring the pot, you’ll discover that there is more to your compatibility than initially believed.
The reality is that you are both by nature in desperate need of trust to cement your bond whether romantically, friendship, or just work peers. But it will take so much time, or mere forced together orders from the Master for him to accept your partnership on various missions.
No matter how I look at it, tact-wise, Muzan is likely to keep you within Akaza’s vicinity. Ironically, Akaza believes he is safeguarding you when in reality, you’re his caretaker.
Intended to shield him from the depths of reality, and sweep away any potential female opponents that may stray into his range. It’s going to be difficult, and one full of back and forth cutting remarks. Both of you are prone to being fairly forthcoming with your communication and ires, and as such, communication is likely to flow quite a bit better than it would with the other moons.
Both of you are fairly adaptable, and makes the work relationship easier to navigate in the flow of battle.
As one who utilizes a fan, the only difficulty is that your fighting stances are a little more difficult to navigate, and will take trial and error. Especially as Akaza does not desire your assistance—nor accepts you as a warrior.
You are not prone to being on the wavelength, and butting heads will come rather routinely for the both of you, but I imagine that Akaza will falter in most disputes.
Not because you haven’t entirely pissed him off, but as he remains traditional at his core, and values the more historical entanglement men and women have had for centuries.
Although, admittedly, your inability to shy away from conflict may actually delight him.
I mean, he’ll never admit it, but you discover that he is far more willing to seek out your company, allowing more time to actually remain around you.
Seeks to protect you, though there are little threats aside from the remainder of the UpperMoons tha could pose a threat to your existence, and because of this, it won’t be difficult to catch on to the fact that Akaza actually just enjoys your company.
though he cannot articulate why that may be.
Oh the dynamic duo that draws exhaustion from all parties in your vicinity. He delights in your pluck, and is instantly smitten with you.
Oh, he delights in the banter, in the opportunity to go blow for blow. Unlike Lord Akaza, your gender means very little to him aside from the fact that if the Second were to perhaps take a small nibble… the thought has crossed his mind you will be delectable.
Far more delicious than those of his worshipers, or any courtesan.
Craves the moment in which he may finally infringe upon your bites. Though it will not be any time soon—you are in no rush to challenge him for his placement, and thus taking a nibble out of you will result in Lord First’s clear disapproval, Lord Akaza has more than expressed his disgust at his tastes, and he is certain that the Master would not accept searching for a replacement.
Which may secure his existence, but he’s not confident enough to make that bet, and so for now, Doma will just delight in peeking beneath the veil.
He has a natural talent for sniffing out the details you do not wish to dispose, such as the aged embellishment you safeguarded upon your meeting. It’s so pretty.
What if he were to break it?
Oh the thought gives him amusement, and because of this, he will push and play. Press nerves, but beneath it, the cold and guarded exterior you often display, is not fooling him.
Just as his false pretenses are not luring you to any deceptions any time soon, you are well aware that Lord Second is not as dimwitted as he pretends to be.
No, rather, you are so faithfully aware that the smallest part of you cannot understand how Lord Third does not see the way the cult leader lures him time, and time again.
You are both adapt at processing, and because of this, there leaves little missed opportunities for the both of you. An opening, and similar fighting styles will make for a lethal combination.
While you have the ability to seize tactical movements, Doma has the ability to prey upon emotional weaknesses, only furthering your opportunities.
Sadly, it’s the consistent skipping over small details that could lead to the downfall of the both of you. While Doma is more than willing to get to know you.
Oh he adores the challenge, and welcomes it as it comes, or he forces it. He so desperately seeks out company, perhaps due to his own upbringing and staleness of life, you offer a rare treat amongst the mundane, but if you are wishing for something more there will be a complication of how forthcoming Doma himself avers to be.
The real question is if either of you are willing to reveal your hands, but the teasing is more than delectable.
The oldest of the Upper Moons will show very little interest upon your arrival at first. The reality is that for the swordsman, many such as you have come, and gone just as swiftly as they have arrived.
He is aware you are a mere last minute addition composed of pressure from the Demon Slayer Corps, and as such, he has a tendency to meet your inclusion as little more than formality.
Keeping to the hierarchy, and unspoken protocol of the kizuki. Yet as you continue to linger, and force yourself into his company, little things such as expressing that you will be seeing him soon, and falling through with such sentiments is likely to gain his interest.
Especially if you follow more formal, traditional methods that are reminiscent of the Edo era. Intuitive by nature, the both of you have the ability to make decisions regardless of how complex the situation may be.
Such formalities, and flow of your time together, the way he finds himself allowing to come undone, and touch upon past selves, he’s curious. So to the point he would not admit to such, and yet, you have caught his attention.
For you, it is the fact that Lord Kokushibo, renowned for his reclusive nature has taken up an interest in you. While it’s true that he will not be changing his nature, nor can you expect him to grow more extroverted.
It is not who he is, and never will be, you will delight in the way he entertains your company. Quietly awaiting your arrival to his accommodations, the sudden appearance of a second tea cup upon your arrival, and engaged conversation.
You know you are warming up to him. The blunt approach to the both of your natures is a contribution to the flow of discussions, and as such there’s a warmth that comes naturally between the two of you should you only give it time.
However, that’s the catch. It will require a depth of time but you’re both immortal so… you are not one to dispose of your hand, cloaking yourself rather than readily reveal vulnerabilities, and the same can be expressed by the Upper Moon.
Your bond is one that is unspoken, and is as natural as the flow of the winds and breath within your lungs. A natural understood, able to see each other for who you truly are, and as long as you allow yourself the ability to accept the time it will take—you will find that your connection is one of sparks.
If it is a romantic connection you are seeking, you may find yourself savoring his touch, and the callousness of his hands. The quiet purse of his lips as he listens to your recent encounters, and the small smile that forms at his lips.
If it is not a romantic connection you desire, then you will find friendship will come just as easily, but ultimately, a work relationship will be one in passing.
Not a partnership in which you routinely work together, but rather a co-worker that you have a great repertoire with.

Paring:hyunjin!x!reader!
Warning: fluff
Your POV
Mr. popular passes through the corridors, his scent leaving traces behind him, leaning against my locker my eyes follow him and walk all the way outside, his smile flashing to his friend talking about something only them will know.
"Hello? Are you listening to me?" my best friend catches my attention from him "Mhm? Yeah I am" My eyes draw to her now
"so are you gonna go?" she asked seriously "Where?" I asked confused
"I JUST TOLD YOU" Her frustration lands on me "Sorry I didn't pay attention" I truthfully say "To my house" She sighs "My stupid brother is going to bring Ashley over to the house and you know she annoys my ass like I can't stand watching her being so stupid with my brother like she is all over him and-" I cut her off before she explodes
"Hey, calm down girl it's ok, I will be there for you" I calm her down "Thanks, but you know... it's not because I'm jealous of my brother is just that she is such a pick me and every fucking girl is gushing over him and it's just so annoying" I understand her, I wouldn't like seeing my brother with some other girl in my house about every day
"do you know if they are dating?" my curious heart asks feeling a ting of jealousy "I don't know, I hope not"
We get to class and sit down, I look over at Hyunjin who is sitting in front of me, oh my poor little heart, when will you stop loving him?
4:40 pm
Yeji and I get ready to head to her house, we walk outside the school's door and feel the nice weather hitting our faces "Ain't it lovely Yeji" I smile loving this weather and wishing it would be like this everyday
"the weather is nice" she smiles and closes her sweater, "how about we watch the new movie that just came out 2 weeks ago?" she asks me "What movie?" I ask curiously "Well the tale of the nine-tailed fox" She answered my question "Oh, the one where Lee Dong-wook appears?" she nods as we get excited about thirsting over a 40-year-old man.
We get to her house open the door and leave my stuff in a chair "Let me get the popcorn ready" I say heading to the kitchen "ok girl ima put your stuff in my room and get everything ready" she shouts from the door already hearing her steps as she walks through the stairs
"hey y/n" Hyunjin smiles at me while making something to eat for himself "Hey Hyunjin" my heart drops as I didn't see him at first
It's normal for me to be at their house so he is accustomed to seeing me around here, we have known each other since I was 5 and he was 6, Yeji and I knew each other from kindergarten and we always used to play with her brother in my house or her house, so we become friends a long time ago, but I feel like it all changed since we entered high school since I was 15 we don't talk as much as before, just small talks, no more movie nights or baking time with him like we sorta got uncomfortable with each other, he also became Mr, popular at school so I believe he feels better than us now. Now I'm 17 and he is 18 and yeah we are in the same grade because his dumbass failed chemistry in 10th grade, obviously, he was so busy fucking his ex-girlfriend and doing her work for her than concentrating on himself that he was swept away 1 whole year because of it.
"How are you doing?" he asked me smiling at me and looking back down at his sandwich "I'm doing good and you?" I ask looking the popcorn to put it in the microwave. "I've been good, what are you guys doing today?" he asked me to make another of our famous small talks "We are going to watch a movie and maybe I'm staying over" I smiled and continued doing my work. "nice, lucky you, I have to do a project for history fro next week" "ah yeah the ones about the empires?" I ask "Yeah, I got put in with Ashley" he whispers and rolls his eyes at me showing his annoyance, and I laugh silently "It would've been better if I got chosen to be with you, you are pretty smart and organized, and we known each other for most of our life" he continues to finish his sandwich. "yeah right? I got chosen with Lia, so it was not bad at all, just her brother is a bit creepy" I say making a weird face remembering her brother and how immature he acts.
"oh yeah Daniel is awful" I nodded and put the popcorn in the microwave not forgetting what he said about me my tummy filled with butterflies, but again I reminded myself I couldn't let these feelings get the best of me, he barely talks to me and yeji would be so mad at me if I ever get to date him.
"But if you ever need me to him in his place please tell me and I will do it with pleasure" he smiles grabs his plate and rubs my head while passing by to the living room.
my cheeks got all red by his touch, I placed my hands over them to soothe them down the popcorn finishes and I get out of the kitchen
"oh Hyuinjin you so funny" I hear a girl exaggerating her laugh, ofc she is here, I feel a bit down and go to Yeji's room.
"everything is ready" I get to her bed and put the bowl in the middle of both of us she starts the movie and we are already melting by seeing Dong Wooks face.
something in me doesn't let me concentrate on the movie and a tinge of jealousy gets to me, it should've been me who was with Hyun-jin right now, not Ashley.
7:24pm
"May I join" Someone opens the door and looks at Yeji with pleading eyes "No go fuck yourself" She stretches and lays down in another position, so I move aside and pat the side of my bed to let Hyunjin join us "See she's nice, unlike you?" he says getting on the bed sticking his tongue out at her "no y/n why did you let him in!" she groans while saying it getting annoyed and moving to the side of the bed to give me more space, he lays on his stomach and hugs a small pillow and gets near me, his head touching my arm of how close he is to me.
Butterflies run through my stomach as I try to control my breathing so I do not blush.
15min later
"He's not that even good looking," He remarks making both of our heads look at him "Shut up you dickhead, he is the most handsome guy to ever exist" She throws a pillow at him, but he throws it back, sitting up and getting comfortable back in the sheets, now sitting like I've been doing this whole time, but our arms connect he looks down on me and smiles, I smile back and quickly look back at the movie, now I do feel my cheeks blush
"did you see how hot Lee Yeon's brother is?" yeji asked me "Yes Rang has that type of bad boy vibe right? but he is so gentle on the inside like he is so cute" I say as we comment on the series. But I feel Hyuinjins head on my shoulder hugging my arm trying to get comfortable on the bed, Yeji gives her back to me and I see her sleepy eyes trying to fight the urge to fall asleep, I pat her head gently making sure she gets some rest but I feel Hyun-jin caressing my arm with his thumb up and down. I feel his breath get more relaxed but I tense up feeling nervous about him.
I try to ignore it and continue watching the movie "Yeji look at the puppy" I pout looking at how cute he is "yeji?" I called her again but I heard no response from her "Did she fall asleep already?" he asked me
"mhm, I think she did" I try to shake her but she does not react, hating that she left me alone with her brother again.
"mmh ok, I'm going for something to eat wanna come?" I nod and get out of bed with him turning the TV and lights off for yeji to sleep as we walk out to the kitchen.
"what are you craving?" he asks me "What about some ramyeon?"
"Sure that sounds good" he started to boil the water while I took the packets out
"so... how did the project go? I asked curiously about the 2 of them
"it was... ok I guess, I kinda ended up doing it all by myself and she was very annoying btw," he said a bit disappointed.
"well I'm sorry to hear that," I said relieved to hear that it didn't go well between them, he got next to me to grab the cups of noodles, and our hands brushed each other, our eyes met and our bodies froze
He pecked my lips and stared into my eyes waiting for my reaction, my eyes widened and my mouth gaped looking at him in shock, but I didn't say anything staying in the same position.
"I'm sorry I shouldn't done that without asking you, I-I thought t-that maybe you wanted i-it"he stutters nervously looking everywhere but my eyes.
"W-why did you kiss me?" I asked in shock, his face in fear "I'm sorry y/n I couldn't stop myself I don't know what came over me, I-Ii just really like y-you and-"
"You WHAT?!"
"I like you y/n, I have since we were young" I stare at him in pure shock
"wait so wait what? so you like me? And you tell me until now?"
"what do you mean until now? I was scared you were going to reject me"
"I would never reject you Hyunjin, I've liked you since I was like 8," I said a bit angry that this didn't happen before
"YOU LIKE ME?!?!" he raises his voice in shock and joy
"yeah I do" I get a bit shy saying it out loud
he cups my cheeks and kisses me delicately his lips feeling soft, tasting him on my lips is kind of my new obsession.
when we separate ourselves in our eyes we see our future we just started.
and that is how I started to date Mr popular.

I love your answer to the question I asked. My answer would have been Whitney Houston. She is either a siren or banshee. I would have paired her with Garrett or Charlie cannot decide who.

✭ twilight masterlist 2
The moon hung low in the midnight sky, casting a silvery glow over the quiet forest. (Y/N), a striking young woman with long, flowing black hair that cascaded down to her hips, stood alone among the trees. At 5 feet 11 inches, she possessed an aura of strength and mystery that drew the eye. But it was her unique gift that truly set her apart—the nine-tailed wolf, as white as freshly fallen snow, that loyally accompanied her.
She had been living a solitary life for as long as she could remember, ever since her powers had manifested. Her childhood had been a blur of confusion and fear, as she tried to comprehend the extraordinary abilities coursing through her veins. The snowy wolf, her constant companion, was her only solace in those early days of isolation.
Throughout history, she had been known as the "snowbound savior." Legends and tales had spoken of a white wolf with nine tails that appeared when one was in dire need of help. Villagers would tell stories around campfires, passing down the folklore of this mystical guardian who emerged from the depths of the forest to aid those in their darkest hours.
But (Y/N) knew the truth. She wasn't just a legend; she was real, and she carried the weight of her unique destiny on her shoulders. Her existence was a secret known only to a select few, those who had witnessed her powers firsthand or had heard whispers of the mysterious white wolf.
Tonight, beneath the silver canopy of stars, (Y/N) felt a strange restlessness in her spirit. It was as though the air itself carried an unspoken message—a call for help that only she could answer. The bond between her and the nine-tailed wolf seemed to hum with anticipation.
With a determined look in her eyes, (Y/N) turned and headed deeper into the forest, her faithful companion padding silently at her side. She didn't know where the call for help originated, but she trusted her instincts. The "snowbound savior" was on the move once again, ready to face whatever darkness lurked in the shadows and to offer her unique gifts to those in need.
The dense forest welcomed (Y/N) as she ventured deeper into its heart. Here, she felt at one with the world around her, a connection that ran deeper than blood. She wasn't just a woman with extraordinary abilities; she was a guardian of nature itself.
As she moved through the ancient trees, (Y/N) could hear the soft murmurs of leaves, the whispers of the wind, and the gentle rustling of creatures hidden in the underbrush. Nature spoke to her in a language few could comprehend, and in return, she listened and responded with reverence.
Today, however, the whispers were tinged with urgency. The very earth beneath her feet seemed to vibrate with concern. (Y/N) paused, her senses on high alert, and closed her eyes to better attune herself to the natural world.
"What troubles you, dear friend?" she murmured softly, her voice a melodious harmony with the forest's song.
In response, the wind carried a somber message, leaves rustled in distress, and the faint echo of a distant waterfall sounded mournful. Nature was trying to communicate something of great significance.
The revelation came like a thunderclap in her mind—a coven of vampires was in danger, and their fate was intricately entwined with the lives of the humans in the town they resided in, as well as a nearby clan of wolf-shifters. The balance of their existence hung in the balance, and the very fabric of the supernatural world trembled with uncertainty.
(Y/N) felt a surge of conflicting emotions. She had distanced herself from the supernatural world, seeking solitude and anonymity after years of bearing the mantle of the "snowbound savior." Her past involvements had left scars both physical and emotional, and she yearned for a simpler existence.
Yet, as she stood among the ancient trees, a profound sense of responsibility washed over her. She had a duty to protect not just the coven of vampires but also the humans and wolf-shifters who unknowingly depended on their presence.
With a heavy heart, (Y/N) raised her eyes to the heavens, her voice resonating with unwavering determination. "Nature, you have my word. I will do all that I can to help. For the sake of balance, for the sake of those in need, I will step once more into the world of the supernatural."
The forest around her seemed to sigh in relief, a symphony of gratitude and understanding. The bond between (Y/N) and nature deepened, and she knew that her path was now clear. The snowbound savior had been called to action once more, and she would honor her commitment to protect and preserve the fragile balance of the supernatural world.
The clearing deep within the forest was a training ground for the local wolf-pack, and tensions were running high as the group practiced their coordinated maneuvers. Alice, the perceptive and clairvoyant member of the Cullen family, watched their movements closely, her golden eyes scanning the scene with an intensity that never wavered.
Amidst the flurry of leaping and lunging wolves, Alice suddenly froze, her gaze distant as if seeing something beyond the immediate present. Her eyes glazed over, and her hand moved with precision as she sketched something onto a piece of paper with a swift hand.
Jasper, who had been sparring with some of the wolves, noticed Alice's sudden stillness and approached her with a concerned expression. "Alice, what is it? What did you see?"
Alice didn't respond immediately, her focus locked onto the sketch she was creating. It was an image of a white wolf with nine tails, each one flowing gracefully behind it. The creature's ethereal beauty was captured in intricate detail.
Edward, always attuned to Alice's visions, joined them, his brows furrowing in curiosity. "Alice, what's going on? What did you see?"
Alice looked up from her sketch, her eyes wide with a mixture of wonder and uncertainty. "I saw something, someone, I'm not entirely sure," she admitted. "But they're coming to aid us."
Edward's expression shifted from concern to relief. "Good. We can use all the help we can get."
Paul, who had been listening in, couldn't hide his skepticism. "More vampires?" he grumbled.
Alice shook her head, her eyes fixed on her drawing. "Actually, it looks to be a shifter like you all."
Confusion rippled through the group until Alice displayed her sketch for them to see. The wolves gathered around, their eyes widening in disbelief.
Sam, the pack's alpha, gasped as he recognized the image. "The snowbound savior," he breathed, his voice filled with astonishment. "But she's just a legend."
Before anyone could respond, a powerful howl pierced the air, resonating through the forest. It was a howl that carried an undeniable presence, one that demanded attention and respect.
Jasper turned his head toward the sound, his eyes narrowing as he listened. "Guess not," he murmured, his voice tinged with intrigue and a touch of apprehension.
As the echoes of the howl faded into the distance, the wolves and the Cullens exchanged uncertain glances. The arrival of the snowbound savior, a figure of myth and legend, had suddenly become a tangible reality. The balance of power in the supernatural world was about to shift, and none of them knew exactly what to expect.
The ground beneath their feet trembled violently, and at first, the Cullens, along with Sam's pack, believed it to be a catastrophic earthquake. Trees swayed, and the very earth seemed to roar with anger. But what followed was beyond anything they could have imagined.
From out of nowhere, a colossal figure emerged, towering over the treetops, and causing everyone to gasp in astonishment. An 836-foot white wolf, with nine magnificent tails that swirled like a majestic blizzard, stood before them. The sheer size and beauty of the creature left them breathless, their hearts pounding with a mixture of awe and trepidation.
For a moment, the forest fell into a hushed stillness, as if nature itself held its breath in the presence of this enigmatic being. Then, as if guided by an unseen force, the colossal wolf began to shift, its form flowing like liquid moonlight.
In mere seconds, the towering wolf transformed into a striking woman, fully clothed and with long black hair that cascaded down to her hips. Her piercing eyes, as ancient as the earth itself, regarded the assembly with a mixture of wisdom and curiosity.
"I suppose you must all be the ones of whom nature speaks," she remarked, her voice carrying a melodious quality that resonated with power.
Carlisle, always the composed and gracious host, stepped forward. "I beg your pardon, but who are you?"
The woman offered a warm smile, one that seemed to hold the secrets of the universe. "I am (Y/N)," she introduced herself. "Nature has warned me of impending danger to this town and the nearby clan of wolf-shifters. It seems our paths were destined to intersect."
Edward, ever the communicator of the family, stepped forward to explain their situation. "A vampire named Victoria is planning an attack with a newborn army. They seek revenge because we killed her mate some time ago."
(Y/N) nodded with understanding, her gaze distant for a moment. "I sympathize with her loss, but I will not allow her to bring death into this town."
As the conversation unfolded, Jasper, who had been watching (Y/N) intently, felt a sensation he hadn't experienced in centuries. It was the undeniable pull of the mate bond, a force that tied him to this extraordinary woman. His gaze remained locked on her, and his heart raced with a newfound intensity. In that moment, he knew that (Y/N) was not only the snowbound savior but also the missing piece of his own existence.

𝐒𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝
Pairing: Jay Chang x fem!reader
Genre: Fluff, established relationship
Warning: None
Notes: I’m in my Jay feels as usual, so here’s this. 🤭
Jay has always been known to be clumsy and not a very athletic guy as well, so when you combine those two things the result is this: a fractured ankle.
Y/n, who has been skateboarding for most of her life, was asked by her boyfriend to teach him how to skate. She accepted because not only did he insist a lot, but because he gave her puppy eyes, something the girl can’t resist.
After a few tries, she let him skate on his own. And surprisingly he was doing pretty okay, until he couldn’t stop and crashed.
They quickly went to the doctor when they saw that Jay couldn’t walk and now they were here, at Y/n’s house sitting on the couch. The boy with a pout and the girl doodling on his cast, his leg propped on the coffee table that was in front of them.
“This sucks.” The brown haired crossed his arms. “I’ve never been in one place for so long.”
“I know, honey.” She patted his cheek affectionately, “You’re always moving, you’re like a golden retriever.”
That made him giggle. “Maybe I was one in my past life.”
“Okay, Nine-tailed fox.” She teased. They had recently seen the drama, Tale of the Nine-tailed fox and Jay got a little obsessed.
“By the way, what have you been doing for the past 20 minutes?” The brown haired curiously asked.
“Oh! Just drawing cute little hearts.” Jay turned his leg a little to the left and saw them. “I thought it would cheer you up.”
The boy smiled with tenderness. “It definitely did. Thank you, love.”
“It’s nothing, sweetie.” She gave him a kiss on the cheek.

Hii, so I just found the kdrama rec list that you made in like 2023, and I'm in ✨desperate✨ need of a calm, comforting rom com drama, like Hidden Love or Falling into your smile. (Especially the latter, I'm in love)
I've been really into the soft love stories lol and I'm busy watching Tale of the Nine Tailed, on the second last episode and I am definetly going to need something lighthearted after this. I've already watched Business Proposal and Love 020, so I think I'm still relatively new.
Please do ignore this if you don't have any new ones!! 😇
Hi! I'm so glad you've enjoyed my recs 😊
I have watched several more dramas since I made that list (okay like 40) I just haven't updated this since 😂 I actually made a side blog just for more in-depth recs that I can DM you if you'd like 🤗
Looking for soft, fluffy romcom recs? Look no further!
C | Exclusive Fairytale | Romance, Youth, Family | 2023 | This is a super cute, fluffy, lowstakes childhood friends to lovers story that progresses from high school days to college and beyond. Plus, it has Jun from Seventeen | 10/10
K | Welcome to Samdalri | Comedy, Drama, Life, Romance | 2023 | Similar to Hometown Cha Cha Cha, this is a slow, small town lowstakes drama where a girl comes from a big city and falls in love with a green flag boy (played by Ji Chang Wook, of course) The side stories are adorable as well as the main leads'. | 8/10
K | King the Land | Comedy, Romance, Workplace | 2023 | An absolutely lovely green flag couple and their chaotic, fun friend group who all work for a chaebol hospitality group (which the ML is heir to). Just recalling it makes me want to rewatch it, honestly. | 9/10
K | Doctor Slump | Life, Romance | 2024 | A supportive family, realistic depiction of depression, a cute, mature, green flag couple, and lowstakes but interesting plot make for a very comforting drama. | 9/10
C | Love Between Fairy and Devil | Comedy, Fantasy, Romance, Wuxia | 2022 | This drama is e v e r y t h i n g. E2L leads, all the tropes, great side characters, plot, set/wardrobe/etc, with a happy ending but makes you go through all the feels. 1000% planning on rewatching. here begins my obsession with Wang Hedi (CW: a lil darker, more plot-heavy and angstier than the previous recs on here but still hilarious and cute!)| 30/10
K | Lovely Runner | Comedy, Fantasy, Music, Romance | 2024 | This drama had a hilarious, adorable lead couple, a hooking plot, a long happy ending, and great acting; what more could you want? The drama accurately depicts fangirl life in a respectful way, has what I've heard from disabled fans is pretty good disability rep, and handles darker themes decently but still keeps the drama light overall. | 9.5/10
K | My Demon | Action, Comedy, Fantasy, Romance | 2023 | This is funny, fluffy, and a bit angsty (don't worry it's still HEA!) Forced proximity x supernatural x star-crossed lovers x arranged relationship x...well, it's got a ton of my favourite tropes + one of the best theme songs and opening credits scenes. | 10/10
Hope one of these tickles your fancy and you enjoy it♡

I’m Here For You...
Fandom: Tale of the Nine Tailed
Pairing: Lee Rang x reader
(y/n= your name)
Why isn’t he answering my calls? He was probably upset about something. And that something definitely had to do with his brother.
I know Lee Rang for only some months. We’ve met at a bookstore where both of us were trying to buy the last copy of “Moby Dick”. We got into a huge fight over that. Finally I managed to get it since he was only hoarding all editions of the same book.
Though he was acting like a spoiled brat, I secretly liked him a lot and I’m pretty sure he found me amusing too. Since then, we occasionally met. In our brief time of acquaintance he had already complained about his brother an awful lot. And judging by his words, that brother is pretty indifferent to him.
When we talked on the phone this morning, Rang told me he was on his way to meet his brother. And now he isn’t receiving my calls. That means the meeting didn’t go well. I needed to meet him. I had already checked the bar he usually goes to and he wasn’t there.
“This little idiot is making me crazy!” I thought. Then a message came to my phone. Lee Rang had finally replied to my anxious texts.
“I’m home now. Too tired to talk.”
Seriously? This was his answer? I can’t believe it.
I angrily walked towards my car and started to head to his home. He was acting distant again. He was probably depressed. Thinking about it made me so sad. I wished he told me what’s going on with him honestly.
I didn’t bother knocking on the door since it’s never locked. When I walked inside, I found him sitting on the couch with a wine bottle on his hand.
“He’s drinking again. This is not good.” I thought.
He looked up and simply went back to enjoying his drinks without saying anything to me. I sat beside him.
“Will you tell me?” I asked.
“There’s nothing to tell.”
“I’m here for you, Rang.” I told him, “You can trust me.”
“Why did you come?” he turned to me and raised one of his eyebrows to look tough.
“I was worried about you.” I answered honestly. He turned away and started to gulp down the wine from the bottle.
“Is this about Yeon?” I finally asked.
He suddenly stopped and slowly turned to me, “Didn’t I mention that I was too tired to talk?”
How could he say something like that? Couldn’t he see how worried I have been? All this time, I was trying to understand him better. I did everything to make him feel like he wasn’t alone. I was always there for him when he needed me. All I’ve ever asked was to be honest with me. Can’t he at least do that?
“I wish you would trust me enough to tell me the truth.” I stood up. It was better to leave him when he is in a mess. Otherwise we’ll both end up hurting each other.
“y/n” he called from behind as I walked towards the door.
I looked back. I could see tears forming in his eyes as he slowly walked towards me.
“I’m sorry.” his voice shook.
I nodded and hugged him. He hold me into a tight embrace and started to sob. We stood like that for a while. When he finally stopped, he looked at me with a little confusion in his eyes.
“I guess,” I whispered, “this is the part where we kiss?”
He smiled, then took my face in both of his hands and finally kissed me...

Here it is, finally. Chapter 2; I wanted it to be longer but I also don't want it to be too long. I will be working on the Tale of the Nine Tailed chapter 9 next. Thank you to @caroline-directioner for the kind words of understanding.
Find Rest for your Soul
Y/n is found unconscious by Hoseok and rescue owner, Sejin. Y/n is a mysterious Omega with no real memories and is trying to understand the warnings in her head. What or who is after her?
Alpha, Beta, Omega x F. READER
Pairing: OT7 x F. READER
Rating: M+
Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3
Sejin rested against the wall of the clinic treatment room, arms crossed as he watched over the female again. She had taken a turn for the worst when they got her into the building. Her blood pressure dropped dramatically, which caused the normally calm and collected Namjoon to go into a frenzy. As soon as the doors opened he started barking orders to the helping volunteers of the rescue. One of the volunteers ended up getting teary eyed and had to be dismissed. Namjoon’s stress made his patience nonexistent as he tended to his patient.
Yoongi rushed over to Namjoon with two injections that the doctor had ordered. One was phenylephrine to help with the low blood pressure while the other was a tranquilizer in case the woman woke in a panic. The skilled doctor found a vein quickly and administered the blood pressure medication.
Once stable enough, Namjoon started working on assessing and addressing the damage done to her body. He began with her head first, cleaning out the wound on her skull and placing three small stitches to close the gash up.
“How did you find her?” Yoongi asked. He took a wet cloth and started wiping the dirt and grime from the female’s face.
“Hoseok found her.” Sejin stated. “He had this feeling that something was off and he went to check it out. When I was ready to turn back he just kept going ahead and found her on the ground.”
“And she was all alone?” Yoongi asked.
Sejin could hear the concern in Yoongi’s voice. He knew Yoongi was always more guarded than the other alphas of the pack, but he had good reasons with his background before the rescue. It took more than a sweet face to gain his trust.
“Yes, it looked like she walked there.” Sejin answered.
The room was quiet for a moment before the woman started to twitch on the table. It started as small jolts, like little zaps of electricity and then her body began to violently jolt and shake in quick spasms. The doctor was reading her vitals, watching the lines skyrocket but he didn’t understand the reason why. Sejin pushed away from the wall, ready to jump in and help if needed while Yoongi waited, guarded to attack.
The woman’s eyes shot open, she threw herself into a seated position as she gasped loudly. Reaching out, she clamped onto Yoongi’s forearm, her nails slightly biting into his skin. The male let out a warning growl but the female either didn’t care or didn’t hear it. Her frightened eyes found his own as fear rolled off of her in thick waves instantly making the room sour.
At the same time, Namjoon grabbed her free arm before she could use it in any negative manner. With his freehand he grabbed another sedation syringe, ripping the cap off with his teeth before sinking the needle into the small plush of her upper thigh. Quickly, he pushed the plunger to inject the liquid knowing it would take effect quickly.
The female was still staring at Yoongi, a whimper passed her lips as the needle pierced her skin. “Don’t let them get you.” She whispered to him, her hand gave his arm a light squeeze before her eyes rolled to the back of her head as she fell against the bed.
The three males stood still, staring at the female, waiting for her to rise again. Instead the steady beeping of the heart monitor filled the dead space of the room. Once they were sure she wasn’t going to surprise them again the all relaxed a small amount. “What the hell was that?!” Yoongi asked lividly, throwing his arms in the air. He wasn’t comfortable about the whole situation already and then those words came out of her mouth. He felt extremely protective of his pack. To him, the woman posed a threat but at the same time he did feel bad for her. She looked completely terrified, there was hope in her eyes, she had accepted whatever she was afraid of was going to get her.
Namjoon could sense Yoongi’s paranoia, the scent of it was quickly overpowering the scent of fear from the omega. Joon shook his head, unsure what to make of everything. There was a sinking feeling in his gut. The omega gave a warning, consciously or not - he wasn’t sure, either way it bothered him. He didn’t like trouble, especially since their lives have been easy going since each of them had been rescued by Sejin.
“I don’t like this, Namjoon." Yoongi stated as he watched the doctor look her over again. "Did you notice this yet?" He pointed to the silver bracelet with the blinking green light. "This looks like a tracker to me. Danger could be coming right to our door as we speak." Panic was stirring into the pot.
The doctor looked over at the other alpha. "Yoons, I understand what you're feeling and saying but if you don't calm down I will sedate you as well." The doctor took the bracelet off and looked it over. "I can't say it's not a tracker, but it looks more like a monitor. Like it's tracking her heart rate and blood pressure.” He placed the bracelet back on her.
Sejin had heard more than enough, he wasn’t going to be helpful in the treatment area. “I think Hoseok and I will go back out there and see if there are any more clues about where she came from and who she is.”
Both alpha’s grew stiff and growled at his words. “I don’t think that’s the best idea. You heard what she said. There could be someone else out there.” Yoongi stated as he shook his head.
“Okay, but I’ll have an alpha with me. Everything will be fine guys.” Sejin rolled his eyes at them. He wasn’t a hybrid - but they considered him as part of the pack, though he also had no real authority over them. “I think you guys are just overreacting a little bit.”
"Definitely not, Sejin." Namjoon lifted the girl's arm and pushed back the sleeve of the light jacket that was put on her. It revealed that her slender wrist has a dark bruise encircling it. “Do you see this mark?”
"This wrist shows the same trauma." Yoongi said as he pulled the other sleeve up, careful not to touch the potential "tracker", to reveal the other bruise.
Both alphas alerted suddenly and snapped their eyes past Sejin toward the swing doors. Behind the rescue manager was their omega, Jungkook, sneaking in quietly so as to not disturb the room. He locked eyes with Yoongi and then Namjoon, offering a small smile before his eyes drifted toward the exam table.
The young one couldn't help the gasp that passed his lips. He stepped forward and looked at the female closely, taking in her unnaturally pale skin, the cuts on her face and the dark bruises. "She looks…sickly." He pointed out with a whimper and Yoongi moved in front of the girl, blocking the young one’s vision. Jungkook’s urge to comfort the fellow omega was overwhelming to him. "Joon…" He snapped his eyes to his other alpha. "what happened to her?"
"From what I can assess is that either she has been in the woods, wandering lost for a while now or whomever she was with didn't take good care of her. Weight loss is obvious to anyone. This isn't something that happened in a few days. This is weeks of starvation. But these," Namjoon gestured to her bruised wrists again. "come from some sort of restriction; most likely being tied down. The body never lies. There's evidence all over her." He felt himself getting angry as he thought of an alpha doing this to an omega. Now he couldn’t prove it was an alpha - it could have been a human but he was angry either way. Omegas weren’t usually strong enough to defend themselves.
Jungkook suddenly found it hard to look at the unconscious girl on the table, he averted his gaze to somewhere else in the room. It felt nauseating, like he was invading her privacy. Each cut and bruise was a violation, a story that was screaming to be heard. He whined with sadness before he felt hands land on his arms and he was pulled into Sejin’s embrace. He tucked his head into the human’s chest and peeked over to the female on the bed again.
Yoongi turned his attention back to the patient, pushing his feelings aside to help Namjoon take care of her. He slowly began to work the light jacket off the female's body so Namjoon could continue treatment. He growled suddenly at their new discovery; track marks made by needles all over her arms. His thumb ran over the multiple puncture marks soothingly. It was becoming more and more evident that this omega was in need of help for a long time. He felt his emotions mix,the alpha in him wanted to protect the poor omega but the rational side of him wanted her far away from his pack.
Namjoon looked over her arms and sighed. "Someone has been injecting her with something. Maybe a sedative."
Sejin frowned, he didn't know what to do anymore. He was originally so curious about the female, but now seeing her condition made him feel sick. He couldn't stare at the shell of the female whom he assumed was on the brink of death. "How do you know it's not self-inflicted?" He asked as he started thinking of other rescues who could help a stray with an addiction problem. He wasn’t prepared for the situation of an addict.
"I can just tell from how the wounds look, she is not shooting up, the angle of the piercing is wrong, and there is bruising as if she was trying to get away from it, so you don't need to worry about that."
Sejin sighed with relief.
"What can I do to help, Joon? I want to help." Jungkook asked desperately. He wanted to get closer to her and hold her hand, scent her and throw her into a nest. Omegas always help each other, maybe he could help with any pain she was feeling, but he didn't want to get in Namjoon's way.
"Nothing for now Jungkook. I'm actually going to need everyone who isn't hands on to leave. I have to remove her clothes and give her a complete exam.“
Sejin nodded and placed a hand on Junkook's shoulder, already steering the pup from the room. He was happy to have an excuse to leave, he wasn't sure if he could handle looking at the broken body on the table much longer.
Once the two were gone, Namjoon turned to Yoongi. "Can you pass a gown for her to wear after? Her clothes will have to be thrown out. Maybe she can wear something from Jimin if need be until we can get her proper clothes again."
***
Sejin gave Jungkook a pat on the shoulder as he left him next to Jin, who was sitting on the couch. The Omega climbed over the back of the sofa and cuddled into the Beta. The manager looked back at the two before stepping into his office. While the rescue was doing good, he didn't know how many more broken souls he would be able to take in and put back together.
The alphas did most of the work when the actual healing came but he still felt the intensity of it all. He watched Hoseok grow a little darker on the inside as he found each new wolf hybrid. Namjoon pours all his knowledge into healing them physically and sometimes had to do so mentally if they couldn’t find a psychiatrist to help. Yoongi gets more and more quiet with others, only being social with his pack. Jimin was the only alpha who didn’t seem to change too much since coming to the rescue.
Sejin sat down in the chair at his desk and looked out the window. He needed some time to collect himself. If Yoongi was right and this female was being tracked by someone then they would come to his rescue facility and that could endanger everyone here. He didn't want to kick her out, he's never said no to someone in need before. Plus, he highly doubted Hoseok would allow him to do that.
Maybe he will call a meeting tonight. Or should he wait until the female is more stable? Decisions need to be made. He would have to have a meeting with the alphas.
Namjoon could see yet another set of eyes from behind the glass of the treatment area doors. Word had spread quickly about a new omega had been found so naturally other members of the rescue were curious if this omega would be joining any of their packs.
***
Yooni was getting annoyed with all the foot traffic that he finally got to his feet and stomped over to them. The three beta’s from another pack shuffled back as he swung the doors open. “The last time I checked this was a treatment area, not a zoo.” He didn’t need to say more than that, the three scrambling away from the scary alpha.
Namjoon summoned Yoongi back into the room. “I have her stable for now. I just don’t know what else to do for her. She just needs to rest and recover.” The alpha was stressed. “I’m going to chart everything in my office, you don’t need to stay.”
“It’s alright Joon, I’ll watch over. I have to make sure no nosy bodies come in.” He watched his fellow alpha dipped into the office before he looked over to the female again. His eyes softened, he felt bad. He really did but he needed to keep his guard up for his pack. He hoped he was overreacting and she was really just lost. He moved to sit closer to her bed, bringing a stool to sit on. “What happened to you out there little omega?”
*
"Doesn't it bother you?" Hoseok spoke quietly as he walked.
"What?" Sejin asked, his feet weren't as quiet as Hoseok's, leaves crunched under his shoes loudly in comparison.
The alpha stopped moving and in return so did Sejin. The human was about to ask what it was when Hoseok finally spoke. "That. The silence is so loud it's almost deafening."
Sejin looked around trying to find any birds or furry woodland creatures that he would normally find. But he was met with the silence Hoseok spoke about. "I mean that doesn't make sense, yeah it's quiet but how is it so loud that it's deafening?"
"We're so used to hearing things. Wolf hybrids more so since our senses are enhanced so think about it. You hear nothing, absolutely nothing. That silence has swallowed everything up and you hear nothing, it must be like being Deaf."
"I never thought about that. But now that you pointed it out I am bothered. Where are all the wildlife animals?"
"I don't know. I've never been this far before. The whole area seems abandoned. This doesn't feel right to me." The alpha could feel his metaphorical hackles raise.
The terrain was rough; vines, fallen trees, a maze of trials throughout the forest. The air was muggy, causing a thin sheen of sweat to cover the foreheads of the two males.
"You haven't asked yet. Are you going to?" Sejin spoke softly, worried his voice would echo in the quiet.
Hoseok stopped and looked back at the human. "I want to know, but I'm worried about the answer." He took a deep breath and turned away from the manager. "How is she?"
An image of her flashed in his head and he had to resist the urge to shudder. He remembered how light she was in his arms, as if he was carrying a large carnival plushie instead of an omega.
"Not in the best shape. There was a nasty gash on the back of her head that Joon stitched up. And there were other injuries that indicate that maybe there was some abuse that she had endured. Before we left I checked in with Namjoon and she's stable but who knows what can happen."
"That bad?" The alpha knew it was bad, he just hoped it wasn't. He stepped over a fallen tree as he pushed on forward.
Sejin nodded his head. "It's nothing short of a miracle that she's alive. That's all thanks to you. You found her, Hobi. Who knows how long it will be until she recovers but at least she is safe now." He decided to leave out the warning the woman gave. They could discuss it at home with the other alphas.
Hoseok nodded his head. "Well, I suppose we should keep our guards up just in case.”
It wasn't much longer when a loud rushing noise could be heard. It was soft at first but was getting louder and louder, almost like something was running toward their direction. Hoseok went on high alert and took a protective stance in front of Sejin.
"What is that?" Sejin asked as he realized the severity of their new situation. Unfamiliar territory and something rushing at them. The manager feared they entered another's territory and another alpha was on the way to fight.
Snarling noises could be heard with the rushing stomps of feet smacking the forest floor. Whatever it was, it was moving through the foliage at such a rapid pace that Hoseok was sure it would be there any second. He braced himself as it moved into the clearing.
Two hybrids, a male and female, came tumbling out into the small clearing. One obviously tried to run from the other but it was deemed useless, the female latched onto the male's back and started slashing. The male wailing in agonizing pain, tried to roll over to fight the female off.
Hoseok was frozen, not in fear but was worried if he made a move then the female would turn her attack toward him and Sejin. The male wolf was able to kick the female off, and something changed in her brain. The male was no longer on her radar. She looked at her arms and then her chest before crying out viciously and attacked herself.
Sejin couldn't watch, the scene was nauseating, there was blood everywhere. He peeked from behind Hobi at the male on the forest floor, basically bleeding out before he turned his attention to the female who seized up suddenly and dropped to the ground, foam dripping from her lips.
There was a moment of calm, the only sound was the male on the ground who was sobbing. When deemed safe enough Hoseok jumped into action, he went to the female first and double checked that their wasn’t a heartbeat. She was in fact deceased and so he turned and knelt down next to the rogue male. "Hey, we're gonna get you help. Hang in there."
Sejin called the rescue again - informing Jin of the new hybrid coming in and to inform Namjoon that they would be on the way. He glanced back several times to Hoseok who was carrying the injured wolf on his back. Sejin could tell from the look in the Alpha’s eyes that he was pretty sure the wolf wasn’t going to make it, but he was pushing on anyway.
At some time the unidentified wolf had passed out making it seem like dead weight on Hoseok’s shoulders. The alpha hoped that they could help, but it really didn’t look very well. Taehyung was the one to meet them outside this time. The Omega opened the doors and helped carry the weight of the unidentified wolf to the medical unit. There Dr. Wang was ready to look over the new patient.
“Ah, Jackson. Thank you for coming in to help Namjoon.” Sejin smiled at the alpha. Jackson was a part of a different pack, they had also moved out of the rescue but Dr. Wang still came in to help with patients.
“Of course. Joon called me to discuss the female that was brought in and then Jin informed us about the new wolf you were bringing in. I told him I would take over this case so he could organize the female’s charts.” Jackson was looking over the male wolf, frowning at the condition his body was in. “He’s not doing good. He lost a lot of blood, we’re going to need to type and match him for a blood transfusion.”
“We can move him into the surgical suite and I can grab what we need.” Sejin stated before Taehyung and him rolled the patient into the surgical room.
Hoseok watched them get the patient into the surgery room before he turned his attention to Yoongi. “Has there been any changes to the female patient?”
Yoongi glanced over his fellow alpha, he watched the blood drip off his jacket and onto the floor before he shook his head. “No, she hasn’t even moved since Namjoon sedated her earlier. Her body isn’t healing properly - she’s too weak right now.” The alpha looked toward the other. “You did good today Hoseok, you found two rogues who needed help.”
“Technically, there were three that we found today. The third one attacked the male patient before attacking herself. I was going to go back out and retrieve the body, maybe Joon can figure out what caused her to do that.”
Yoongi looked surprised at the news Hoseok shared. “Why would -”
His question was cut off by loud yells from the surgical suite. The two alphas jumped up and raced to the door. Inside the patient was thrashing on the table, claws protruding from the skin, wolf fangs bearing as the wolf side tried to break out.
Jackson tried to hold the patient down to the table before the whole body went limp and the monitor indicated a long beep of a flat lined heart. “Damn it!” Dr. Wang started chest compressions, Namjoon raced into the room and between the two doctors they took turns trying to revive the patient. After 33 minutes of compressions they made the call.
Jackson pulled a white sheet over the male’s body and informed the proper rescue members to transport to the morgue. “It’s unfortunate that he didn’t survive, he might have known something about our Jane Doe over there.” He shoulder’s fell in defeat.
“Don’t beat yourself up, from what I see, it was a very slim chance that he was going to make it. It doesn't surprise me that he succumbed to his wounds.” Joon turned his attention to his fellow pack alpha. “Hoseok, I heard you found a third person as well.”
“I did.” He explained what had happened during their search and explained how he wanted to go and collect the body.
“I understand, but it is late and if Yoongi is right about the dangers he is concerned about then we shouldn’t be going into unfamiliar territory at night. Finding any other clue or even the body might be highly improbable. Let’s be logical and wait until the morning. Plus, you should wash up.”
Hoseok frowned as he looked at his bloodied outfit. “You’re probably right. I’m gonna head home with Jin, Jungkook and Taehyung. Yoongi are you staying here?”
The alpha nodded his head. “Yeah, I’ll help Jackson and Joon with the female.”
“Okay, if there are any changes, please let me know.”
***
Joon sat in this office as he started over the body scans on the John Doe wolf. “I don’t get it Jackson. I don’t know where these rogue wolves are coming from. The body injuries between the two are so different. She shows signs of abuse, while he shows none. All I see are the injuries that he acquired from the attack that Hoseok and Sejin saw.”
Jackson had pulled out two glasses from the cabinet and carried a bottle filled with dark amber liquid. “Sounds like it’s time for a drink.” He placed the glass on the desk for the other doctor before bringing his own glass to his lips and taking a sip enjoying the sudden warmth that filled him.
“I don’t think I can relax just yet.” His eyes moved to the open door where his patient laid, still out for the count while Yoongi watched over her.
“Joon, there is nothing more you can do for her tonight. Have the nurses watch her and get to your pack at home.”
Namjoon frowned. “She’s very weak. I don’t know if she’s going to make it. I’ll probably stay the night and keep track of her vitals just in case anything changes.”
“I just have a good feeling that she’s going to be fine. I think Hoseok found her in time. Go home, get some rest. Doctor’s orders.” Jackson winked at his friend and Joon rolled his eyes. “Seriously though, if you want I’ll stay the night and take over the case for now.”
The alpha knew his friend wouldn’t let it go. “Okay, sure. Maybe with a clear mind I’ll be able to think of a better treatment plan.”
“Go. Home. Joon.” Jackson grabbed his shoulders and pushed him out of the office door. “Yoongi, make sure this one goes home and relaxes for the night.”
***
The following morning Hoseok walked to the rescue with Jimin, who had a bag of clothes with him, nothing much, just a few t-shirts and two pairs of sweatpants. Once the smaller alpha heard about the female Hoseok found he wanted to help however he could.
BamBam, an omega from Jackson’s pack, came running out the clinic doors heading over to the two alphas. Hoseok could feel his heart rate spike suddenly as dread started to fill his mind. Did things take a turn for the worse? He knew Namjoon left early to take over the case from Dr. Wang - his leader would have called him, wouldn’t he?
“Is she awake?” Jimin asked as he noticed that Hoseok froze.
BamBam started nodding his head as he caught his breath. “Yeah. Dr. Kim asked me to keep an eye out for you to return. When the patient woke up, she scratched Dr. Wang in the face.” He whined at the words that left his lips, sad for his own alpha. “I was there when it happened.” He recalled the inhuman scream that escaped the female’s lips as she woke to see the unfamiliar face of Jackson leaning over her. “I personally think she’s dangerous…” He trailed off as he realized that he was being disrespectful. He tried to get himself back on track. “... but Dr. Kim feels otherwise as of now.”
The omega walked back to the medical clinic with the two alpha’s. Hoseok was pouring waves of anxious vibes as they made their way through the hallway. He wondered what kind of answers they would get from the female. He made a mental note to call Yoongi and give an update after.
Hoseok and Jimin entered the treatment room to see that Dr. Wang was sitting on an exam table while his beta, Jinyoung, was standing next to him. The two had unhappy expressions - brows furrowed in confusion as they looked warily at the female across the room. Joon was a few feet away from her, kneeling down with his hands up in submission. He meant no hard to her.
As for the female, she was curled up in the corner of the room, back pressed up against the wall and her knees drawn tightly to her chest. Her expression was practically feral; her eyes wide and her pupils appeared to be dilated.
Hoseok couldn’t blame her, waking in an unknown place and surrounded by unfamiliar faces wasn’t exactly ideal for most people. He stood there observing the scene for several seconds before he realized that she was talking. Her voice was so hushed he almost didn’t hear it.
“Three. Six. Hide. Escape. Right.” The words fell from her mouth like a mantra.
Bambam was still standing between the two alphas when he spoke again, his voice was a hushed volume. “She’s been saying that ever since Dr.Kim tried to talk to her. I think she’s trying to remember something.”
“I think she’s lost her damn mind.” Dr. Wang commented through gritted teeth as he turned to Hoseok, exposing the scratches from her nails. They ran from the corner of his eye to his mouth, they would eventually heal but it would take a few days. “I understand why they tied her up.” He referred to the bruising on her wrists. “She’s out of control.”
Hoseok frowned at the words that reached his ears. He didn’t want to believe them, but the scene before him wasn’t convincing him otherwise. She looked like she was having a mental breakdown.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Standing in front of the mirror, Gojo looked at himself one last time. Turning around, he made sure to look appealing before picking you up for a date. From previous encounters with topics on dating on social media posts, he remembered reading about what women find appealing in a man. Taking his nimble fingers towards his chest, he unbuttoned a few shirt studs at the top, exposing a bit of his pale smooth skin. Rolling his sleeves on either sides of his arms, he rotated his fists back and forth to make sure the veins that ran through the expanse of his skin was visible. Lifting his arm towards his forehead and flipping his hair back, he smirked at the mirror. After having had enough of watching and turning around to see his reflection and making sure everything in the right place, he grabbed his keys from the bowl and headed out into the quiet yet busy streets of Tokyo.
Staring at your watch, you realized Satoru was over 15 minutes late. You turned your head left and right to make look at his familiar face in the crowd, but the only ones you saw were those of strangers, conforming to the ever moving crowd. ‘Maybe he won’t show up’ you thought, dropping your watch bound wrist to the side. Turning away to leave, you heard a familiar voice “(Y/N) Chan!!!”
Turning yourself around, you could see Satoru approaching towards you from the corner of your eye. Waving as he came near, he came to stop mere centimeters before your face. Gazing at his attire, you found him to be overdressed but you paid no heed to it. “You’re late Gojo” you said simply in a monotone voice.
“Whew…But I made before you left right?” Satoru answered in a chirpy voice. You felt the ghost of a smile on your face on hearing those words. In the time that you have worked with Satoru, you realized although he had a childish exterior, he was very assuring as a colleague as well as a teacher. Although he seemed to not have a care int he world, he was worried about the safety of others even if he seldom showed it.
“Oi… (Y/N) Chan?” Satoru said, waving his hand in front of your face, breaking you away from your train of thoughts. “Hm?” You hummed staring at his shade covered eyes. “Genki ka?” Satoru asked, taking a step back to give you your space. Looking at his figure, you noticed the wild tufts of his hair. If you were to run your hands through his hair, would it be as soft as it looked? Looking at the corner of his covered eyes, you wondered how they would look while the sun’s rays fell on them or how the color of them would be dark with your shadow if you leaned into him. Trailing down to his lips, you mused about the feeling of them on yours. Would be they soft from the gentleness he showed…or would they be rough from the passion and aggression he held? You felt your expression deflate at the thought of this being a mere piece of fascination. The closest you had ever gotten to Satoru was during times in the Academy when you would pass anything from a cup to an extra sweet you had, but never were you able to get close to the feeling of his fingers touching or grazing past yours.
“(Y/N)” he said once more. Raising your eyebrows while staring at his lips, you tore your gaze from them to meet one’s that were hidden beneath his glasses. Nudging his glasses down the bridge of his nose he asked, “Is everything alright?”. Blinking a couple of times, you processed the question before answering,“I’m doing alright”.
“Really? Seems like someone was distracted… maybe you shouldn’t make your line of vision to my lips so obvious” Satoru said with a smirk, leaning his face into you. Clearing your throat, you decided to change the topic of conversation. “So… why exactly did you call me out here? It’s the weekend and I could have been at my place or gone out somewhere. Yet I am stuck here with you, adding the fact you’re fifteen minutes late” you said to the white haired male.
“You make it sound more like an obligation than a fun activity (Y/N) chan” Satoru said with a pout, tutoring his head to the side.
“Considering the fact that you’re more of a colleague than a friend and the time you told the kids they were going to Roppongi, but instead took them to a haunted building for performing an exorcism says otherwise. Also the fact that you don’t do these activities with your colleagues that often and choose to go out on dates with women outside of work is fishy. So why specifically choose me who is your colleague but not someone who is a friend? To add on I’m definitely not a romantic interest either” you explained in a ‘as-of-fact’ manner with a wave of your hand towards him. Meeting Satoru’s gaze you could tell he wasn’t happy about the way you spoke. His lips were pursed into a thin line towards the very last sentence of your rambling. Rubbing your thumb and index together, thinking of a way to remove the air of awkwardness from the conversation, you asked “So… where are we going?”.
Satoru said nothing as he walked to your side. Grabbing the sleeve of your coat, he said “There’s a place I know”. Tugging at your sleeve, he continued to walk with you in pursuit. Footsteps faded for the crowded street of Tokyo into a lane where no dared to wander.
“It’s nice to see a not exorcised building for a change. But… what are we doing here?” You asked looking at the building that stood before you in awe. The entrance was grand with a chandelier hanging from the ceiling. Looking up, you could see the grandiosity of the building, littered with paintings and statues.
“I came here to try a parfait and the view is amazing from what I hear” Gojo said in thought, taking his chin between his thumb and pointer finger. Looking at him slight skepticism, you probed,
“And who exactly are theses people you ‘hear’ from?”
“Mostly Mei Mei and Butahime” he said with a shrug. Rolling your eyes at the mention of MeiMei’s name you said, “You know, it surprises me that even though you claim the fact that you’re one of the ‘strongest sorcerers’ you can be so dense”. “Daijobu” Satoru said holding up a black card.
“Just enjoy your time with me here. ‘Kay?” He added in a flirtatious tone.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
As the elevator doors of the topmost floor of the building opened, you could see neon lights of the city that ever sleeps. “May I take your coat ma’am?” One of the waiters asked. Turning around you looked at Satoru who had his coat taken off by the waiter and waited for you to do the same. Stretching your hands out, you felt the coat being removed from your shoulders. “Right this way please” another waiter said with a smile waving his hand towards the direction of your table. Following close behind you till you reached your seat, Satoru pulled your chair and waved for you to sit. Snorting through you nose you remarked, “And they say Chivalry is dead”. “(Y/N) Chan hidoi” Satoru said while feigning hurt by placing his palm over his heart. Chuckling you took your seat, while Satoru pushed you towards the table. From the peripheral of your vision, you watched his figure walk around the table and take a seat. After getting comfortable, he placed both his arms on the table and entwined his fingers. You could hear noises of the city as the silence between the both of you. Turning your head towards the gigantic window beside your table, you stared out into the Tokyo night sky. Placing your hand under your chin, you watched cars passed beneath and barely visible dark clouds litter the sky with an occasional plane passing by.
“That’s the fifth plane so far…” Satoru said. Turning to look at him, you watched his eyes twinkle with fascination as he watched machines with twinkling lights flashing beneath them pass by.
“Since when were you fascinated with planes?” You asked in a teasing tone. “There are a lot of things that fascinate me, but you never bothered finding out now, did you (Y/N)-chin” Satoru teased back. “Never was the type to be interested in pretty boys. Easy on the eyes, a charming smile, but is the one that breaks another’s heart in the most quick and brutal way possible” you said in a monotone voice, turning to look outside the window once more.
“And… how did you come to that kind of a conclusion” Satoru asked, placing his knuckles under his cheek out of curiosity with his pale eyebrow raised from beneath his glasses.
“I’ve had a fair amount of sleepovers consoling a friend over their rash decisions with these kinds of men. All they ever want is one or a couple nights of fun without responsibility… however, I’m also aware about how every man is different, but pretty boys are something I lost interest in a while ago. Not to mention that I have a colleague in the academy who goes with at least” you said in mockery, raising your hand and using your fingers to count “four women a week?”.
“Sore wa uso desu” Satoru said with a smirk, pointing towards you. “Please. The number of times I’ve heard a ‘Satoru-kun, why don’t you answer me’ ‘ ‘Toru-Kun, you forgot our date!’ is astonishing that even Yaga had to chase them out with his puppets” you said in a dramatic manner.
Throwing his head back, Satoru laughed at your way with words. “When you put it that way, it does sound like I’m one of them. What can I say? I’m popular among women” he said, realizing into his chair and crossing his arms. “If you’re so popular, then why am I on this side of the table?” You asked, raising a brow at his previous claim. Hearing your words, Satoru’s lips were pursed into a thin line once more. Looking to your side, you could see his fist clenched around the fabric draped over the table. Resting your arms over the table, you took a hesitant breath before continuing to speak. “Gojo, you don’t have to beat round the bush when you’re with me. Even though you’re my colleague, we’ve worked together for over a year now and we’re not strangers. Inviting me out to parfait for bait doesn’t work and neither does small talk. I maybe rude, blunt and a lot of things, but it was never my intention to chase you away with it. So, tell me. What’s on your mind?”.
“(Y/N), I- ”
“Aha, and what do we have here?” A voice interrupted Satoru’s. Looking at the end of your table stood a women with a hand on her hip. She wore a sneer that was directed toward Satoru. She had a long black dress with her hair tied into an elaborate braid of sorts. Behind her was a man, who seemed just as perplexed as you.
“What do you want Ayumi?” Satoru said in a grave tone, glaring at the girl. “What is it I could possibly want from a man who hasn’t been with a real woman before?” the said girl scoffed. Furrowing your eyebrows, you looked at Satoru who stared at the girl while clenching his jaw and gritting his teeth. Turning towards you, Ayumi eyes roamed from analyzing your hair to your face. Taking a step back, she also looked at the kind of clothes and shoes you wore before turning to Satoru with an amused expression on her face.
“And you brought this tramp to a place like this…?” She asked with the raise of her hands, pronouncing the ambience of the room. Breathing out a sigh from your nose, you knew your patience was running thin. First were the incomplete answers from Gojo and second was being interrupted by a girl who had the nerve to make a comment about you even though she had never seen you before. “Gojo, your standards have failed to meet my expectations day after day. First, you take to me a restaurant then we go back to my place, only to run away when I found out you were a virgin”.
Eyes widening in surprise, your head snapped towards Gojo, only to see that he had become unnervingly quiet and stiff. Slapping your palm against the table, you caught the attention of everyone in the restaurant. “Don’t you think you’ve done enough?” You asked with a dark chuckle. “Huh?” Ayumi asked with arrogance.
“Look. I came over to enjoy a parfait with my colleague and friend. Don’t you think you’re disrupting everyone in here by talking like that?” You asked, waving your hand over to the other side of the room where heads of several guests were turned.
“It’s funny how you call me a tramp and yet you act like one in a place as pristine as this. Ever heard the phrase of ‘pot calling the kettle black’” you asked Ayumi.
“Don’t you think you’re acting all high and mighty for a girl who should be getting on her knees and being thankful for being brought to a place like this? The most expensive piece of estate in Tokyo?!” Ayumi said with a snarl ready to lunge for you but was held back by the male behind her.
“For a person in ‘the most expensive piece of estate in Tokyo’ you sure don’t look or act like you would fit in the crowd” you said, cracking your neck from side to side. Getting up from your chair to move around her, you came to a stop, behind Gojo. Folding your arms together, you pressed yourself against he wooden back of his chair and probed the fuming girl, “So, what was it? Was it his looks? Or did you happen to see his black card and decided to play dog?”.
Ayumi grit her teeth in response.
“No answer huh… guess your silence answers everything. Even though Satoru is a virgin, he still has some dignity unlike a dog who followed him for the sake of his looks and money” you said to the seething girl.
“Well then, we’ll be on our way. Get up Satoru. Let’s go home” you announced, tapping on the side of his chair. Moving around the girl, you went towards the waiter for your coat with Satoru behind you, giving soft smiles to waiters and the manager who apologized for the inconvenience on the way out.
While exiting out of the building, you felt Satoru's hand reach for yours. You began leaning into his touch as his fingers entwined around yours. You felt all your questions being answered as his palm rubbed against yours. Yes, Satoru’s hands were big. Yes, they were smooth. Yes, his fingertips were cold. And yes… it did feel like fireworks.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Standing at the entrance of your apartment, the empty hallway was filled with the jangling of your keys as they were slotted into lock of your door. Turning to see Satoru, you asked “Would you like to come in?”. Smiling in return, he threw himself into the house shouting a “Ojamashimasu”.
You chuckled at his childishness, closing the door behind you. Throwing your coat on the couch, you silently told him to do the same by titling your head towards the taken seat. Tossing your keys into a nearby bowl, you asked “Well, since you didn’t get to try the Parfait, would like my broke ass cup of tea or eclair?”.
Smirking he said, “I’ll take the eclair”.
Walking to your fridge you took out the cold eclair. Before you could set it on the plate, it was snatched out of your hands by none other than Satoru. “Itadakimasu” he said, before taking big bites of the eclair. You both sat and ate in silence, with sounds of water drops falling from the tap in the kitchen sink.
“Ne, did you mean what you said?” Gojo asked, taking a final bite of the parfait. You hummed in response. “You said about me being your friend…” he said in a small voice. Surprised at the conversation he chose to pick, you looked at his face. Even if his eyes were hidden away beneath his glasses, the frown on his lips was enough of a expression to show you what went through his mind. Moving away from the kitchen isle, you stood in front of him. With the call of his name you urged him to look at you. Snapping his head up from his shoes, Satoru’s face came close to yours. Raising your hands, you held onto the sides of his shades, retracting your arms behind and pulled them from his face until you found blue orbs staring into yours. “I know it’s an inconvenience given you have your six eyes, but I need to really see you when I say this”.
Tucking your arms behind you, you took a calmed your fast beating heart and spoke.
“I meant every word I said back there. I don’t say it to your face since your inflated ago doesn’t need another pump. I’ve worked with you for over a year. You can be selfish at times, and you have reasons… but, I also admire you for it. I don’t know much about your past, neither would I wan to prod into it, but whatever it is, I know you came out strong because of it. No one becomes a strong sorcerer in one night. And if you ever need me I’ll always be there. Sure, I can be an asshole at times, but I have my moments like anyone else-” your ramble was interrupted by a pair of lips. You could feel your vision shake from the sheer intensity of the kiss. It felt sloppy and inexperienced but it moved with passion and the feeling of intense affection. This kiss defined Satoru. Fisting your hands into his hair, you pulled him away from you. His eyes were half lidded with desire and need. His tongue hanging loose from his mouth in ecstasy from the taste of you. Whining in desperation of more, his hands found their way to your shoulders pulling you into him. Pressing a hand against his chest, you tried to separate yourself from him. “Why?” He whined at the loss of feeling your skin against. “You’re not thinking straight Satoru. Maybe you should go home” you said in a haste, turning to leave the kitchen. Making your way into the living room, you opened the door, only to have it slammed back into a place by a hand much larger than yours. You could feel his arms circling around your waist as his head dropped onto the nape of your neck. You could feel Satoru’s hot breaths against you and you realized this is the closest you had ever to been to him.
“Don’t… don’t send me away” he said in a voice barely audible. Placing your hands over his caused his grip to tighten around you. Remembering Ayumi back from the restaurant, you asked “You’re usually bad with names… How did you remember Ayumi? What if this is a gimmick and all you want is one night with me?”
You felt the baritone of his voice chuckle behind you, and you could feel your anger rise by as every minute passed.
“Never took you for the jealous type… but you’re quick to point that out. That’s what I expect of my (Y/N) Chan” Satoru said with a soft smile.
“Don’t fuck around with me Gojo and answer my question. It’s the only thing keeping you from being on the other side of my door” you responded with a grave tone.
Letting a few moments of silence pass, Satoru spoke.
“Ayumi was the last girl I ever went out on a date with. She invited me to her place after we went to a bar. It was one of the places I hated the most but I couldn’t rid of the thoughts about the woman who haunted me both during the day and at night despite the fact that I was away from her. It only seemed fair to drown my sorrows in the thing I hate the most… and it’s-”
“Alcohol. I know” you interrupted him, staring into the hard wood of your door, counting each line embedded into it.
“Shitsureiyo (Y/N) Chan. I wasn’t done explaining” Gojo whined, nuzzling into the nape of your neck. Not hearing a response from you, he continued to talk.
“The night I went to Ayumi’s house, I was drunk. But not that drunk to not be in my senses. She came over me. Let her hands roam my body” he said in a calm voice,“Before she could kiss me, I flinched. Thought I could man up by having a woman… but if it isn’t you, I want no other”.
“Why? You seemed to be comfortable with letting her hands roam your body, but the moment it’s her lips, you couldn’t take it? Are you even speaking in your senses right now Gojo?” You asked in an exasperated voice.
“Told you I wasn’t done. You never learn do you (Y/N) Chan?” Gojo complained in frustration.
“Fine. After this, you leave” you said in a cold tone. Neither acknowledging nor answering your question Satoru rubbed circles into the side of your torso and picked up from where he left.
“Alcohol made me see things. Felt I was in heaven when I thought about your hands touching me instead of Ayumi. Thought about how pretty you’d look under me. But when I saw it wasn’t you, I couldn’t go any further”.
“So… you’re…?” You questioned.
“Mhm” he hummed as a reply.
“Ah… then, what does it have to do with me?” You asked, curious and desperate to know if his answer is the one you’ve always dreamed of.
“Despite being a sorcerer, you’re pretty dense aren’t you” Satoru huffed.
“There’s lust and love, Satoru. The line between them is very thin” you quipped back.
“At this point you’re just itching for me to say aren’t you?” Satoru asked. You grit your teeth in annoyance knowing that this an would not give you what you wanted.
“And this is why I don’t deal with pretty boys-” you said rolling your eyes.
“Aishiteru” Satoru’s voice cut into yours. Getting no response back, Satoru repeated once more “Aishiteru. So’nanni Aishiteru”.
Feeling deflated, his grip loosened around your waist only to be surprised when he heard the sound of your footsteps, turning around to face him. Raising your fingers, you ran them through his hair, feeling the texture of his strands.
“I’ve always wanted to do this” you said with a smile. Nuzzling his nose against yours he gave it light kiss before moving to your lips.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Making your way into the bedroom, you pushed him onto the bed. Kissing him, you ran your hands on the expanse of his skin.
“Are you sure you wanted this” you asked Satoru in a grave tone, “If you want, we can stop here”.
“No. I’ve wanted this for a very long time. Now that I’ve made it this far, I’m not stopping for anything or anyone else” Satoru said, reaching his hand out to caress your cheek.
Feeling a soft smile creep onto your face, you felt yourself being drawn in by the sight of his lips.
Feeling his tongue dance against yours, Satoru moaned into your mouth. Pulling away with a small bite to his lip, you began to unbutton the studs of his shirt. He looked down at you with fondness as he watched you undo the last button. Taking a grip of his pants, you pulled the zipper down to reveal his errection being held back by the expanse of his boxers. Combine back up, you placed yourself on his side.
“Satoru. I want to pay attention and answer me” you said, looking at him. He blinked at you in response.
“Tell me where did she touch you” you commanded him. Sitting up, Satoru pulled his arms back to shed his shirt onto your bedroom floor. Placing his hand onto this collarbone, he looked at you through half lidded eyes.
Leaning into the scent of his skin, you let your lips trail over it lightly before catching it between your teeth and giving it a hard suck. Satoru moaned at the feeling of your teeth and tongue over his collarbone. Pulling back after littering the patch of skin with kisses, bites and a bit of spit, you hummed in satisfaction at the sight of his skin turning flush pink, knowing it would bloom into colors of dark pink and purple the next day.
“Where else?” You asked in a seductive tone.
After marking Satoru on his neck, chest, abs and v lines, he whined at the pain of his erect dick being constrained by the fabric of his boxers that was starting to tighten on his skin. Using your thumbs, you pulled down his boxers. Tugging his legs free off them, Satoru threw his leg over the other towards the side, hiding the sight of his naked manhood from your gaze. Catching hold of one his ankles, you pulled his leg back to it’s original position.
“Uh uh uh. We’re having none of that” you said, titling your head to the side. Hiding his face into the pillow, you could his see a light blush on the apples of his cheeks. Chuckling to yourself, you used one of your hands to rub against his shaft. Satoru whined and shivered at the feeling of your hand rubbing his dick. Looking behind you, you saw the mirror at the foot of your bed.
Taking your place behind him, you made Satoru’s head rest against your chest.
“Satoru, look into the mirror there” you said.
Batting his eyes from you to the mirror, he shook his head from side to side in defiance.
“Are you refusing me?” You asked in a low tone.
Taking a large gulp, Satoru lifted his hand and grabbed yours. Taking it, he placed it at the tip of his dick and said “Ore ga yaru”
Sliding your hand up and down his dick softly, you could see his precum oozing from the tip of it. Trickling down, your palm continued to move in a rhythm. Your empty bedroom was filled with the filthy sounds of wetness being rubbed over skin and high pitched moans of Japan’s strongest sorcerer. Looking at himself in the mirror, Satoru threw his head back, losing his senses in the feeling of your hands on his dick. Using your other hand, you played with his balls that hung low and heavy beneath his shaft.
“You like that baby?” You asked in an alluring voice.
“H-Hah hai” Satoru answered, batting his white lashes at the mirror.
“Who does this belong to?” You asked, giving his dick a lightly squeeze. Satoru moaned loudly at the constricted feeling your palm was giving him. Changing the pace of your movements, you began to rub his dick at a fast pace. Meeting your gaze in the mirror, he said in a breathy voice
“Omae da”
“Who do you belong to?” You demanded.
“You” he answered right away, using one of his hands to press your face towards him.
Staring into your eyes, he felt his heart race. Opening his mouth, he let out choked sobs at he feeling his first orgasm. The number of nights he had to rub one out to the thought of your hands being over him instead of having to deal with it himself had turned into a reality.
Feeling his free hand dig into the skin of your hand, you knew he was close. Continuing to maintain your pace, you heard him moan your name loudly.
Looking down, you were met with the sight of white ropes of cum sliding down his abs. Strings of cum were seen between your digits. Taking your fingers, you sucked on one before using your middle finger to prod into his mouth. Taking your fingers into his mouth, Satoru sucked them obediently.
“That’s my good boy” you said.
After bathing for a few moments in the afterglow, you moved to fetch a rag for cleaning Satoru up. Before you could leave the bed, you felt Satoru wrap an arm around your torso, clutching your shirt tightly on the verge of ripping, afraid that you would disappear.
“Calm down babe. ‘M just getting a washcloth” you chuckled.
“Promise you’d come back quick?” He asked in a shy voice.
“Course. Can’t leave my love unattended now can I?” You cooed at him, kissing the tip of his nose.
“Wait here” you said. Getting up, you headed to the bathroom, washing your hands off. Grabbing a wet washcloth, you headed to the kitchen to grab a bag of candy and a bottle of water.
Coming back into the bedroom, you saw Satoru waiting for you, looking at you with a soft expression as you approached him. Opening the bag of candy, you held it out to him. Taking your place beside the bed, you crouched down and rubbed at the mess that was stuck to Satoru’s skin. Once you were done, you tossed the dirty cloth into the hamper at the corner of the room with a small “score”, and turned to him. Satoru held out a piece of candy for you to take. Opening your mouth, you were about to bite into it when he pulled his fingers back and tossed the piece of jelly into his mouth.
“Too slow” he teased you while chewing on the sweet.
“Brat” you chuckled.“You want a shower?” You asked.
“iie. Daijobu” he responded, searching for colored candy in the bag.
“Alright. I’m taking one and we can sleep” you said, grabbing your towel.
“I’m staying the night?” He asked, his head snapping to meet your gaze.
“No. You’re staying the day” you responded. Hearing your response, Satoru pouted. Reaching a hand out to pet his cheek you said “Course you’re staying the night. I’ll not have it any other way”.
Smiling in response, Satoru nuzzled into the palm of your hand. Giving it a small peck he said, “Let’s start off right with tomorrow”. Giving a puzzled look, you asked him “With what?” .
He said with a soft gaze “A date”.

You had recently moved into a little cottage in the woods, not too far away from the main city, but enough to be away from the busy, commercial life you once lived. Others might disagree, but you felt more at peace among nature, like you were truly satisfied. You had never enjoyed living among many people, so you were excited to start your new life, out here in the woods. As you walked back to your cottage after taking a walk to familiarize yourself with your new surroundings, you heard a few voices up ahead. You groaned, not wanting to socialize with anyone, but before you could turn to take a different route to avoid whoever was there, you overheard one of the voices say, “We’re gonna get a fine amount of money for this creature’s fur, ya hear me? So make sure the trap is secure.” A couple of other voices mumbled in agreement. You frowned. Although you could not really make out what animal they had caught, you did know that whatever they were doing, it sounded illegal. You sighed. You did not want to confront anyone, but you made your way towards the voices. You saw three men surrounding a cage, holding… guns? “What have I gotten myself into?” you internally groaned, but it was too late to turn back now. “Um, excuse me?” you called out hesitantly. They turned at the sound of your voice, looking displeased. You smiled nervously. “Hi, um, it’s actually illegal to hunt in this area…” you trailed off, seeing their annoyance. “How would you know, you little punk? Go braid daisy crowns or whatever you do in this dump,” one of them sneered at you. You were slowly growing irritated, but you kept the smile on your face, determining to help whatever animal they had imprisoned. “Ok, well, I was going to let you know that if you walk a few miles from here, there is a hunting area. You guys aren’t the first hunters I’ve seen around here,” you lied through your teeth, trying to distract them to give you enough time to release the trapped creature. “If you check it out, I’ll forget I even saw you guys here, and no one will know that y’all were hunting illegally, ok? Plus, I’ve seen a lot of finer animals in that area.” “Maybe we should listen to her, boss,” one of the hunters said to the one who had spoken to you first. “I mean, it is just a fox, and if we’re caught…” he whispered the rest of his sentence to their leader, who in turn frowned. “Fuck, whatever. How far is the hunting area, kid?” he asked, the question directed to you. “Oh, um, about… 10 miles from here? In that direction,” you said, pointing. “You better not be lying to us,” the hunter glared at you, making you gulp. You tried to act nonchalant until they were out of sight, then immediately rushed to the trap. You gasped when you saw a beautiful fox with… tan, almost golden fur. You had never even heard of foxes that colour. The hunters were idiotic to listen to you and leave this amazing creature, but you were glad they did. The fox made a low, growling noise, snapping you out of your trance. “Ah, right, I’m sorry, I’ll let you out now, don’t worry,” you said, suddenly feeling stupid that you were conversing with an animal. You quickly set your attention onto setting it free. The trap looked complicated to deactivate, but you realized it was actually quite simple, and you managed to free the fox in no time. “There you go,” you smiled, “You’re free now.” Surprisingly, the fox lingered, studying you with beautiful carmine eyes. First tan fur, now red eyes? “You’re like something outta a fairy tale, huh? So pretty,” you said softly, gazing at it at wonder, when you heard distant voices shouting.
Crap. The hunters.
“You really thought you could fool us! There were no animals in that area!” “Ahaha fuck, I’m in trouble,” you murmured, thinking of a way to escape, when you remembered the fox was still here! “Hey uh, you really should get outta here-” you said, turning to find not a fox, but a man with fox ears and a- no wait, nine tails. Your eyes widened, freezing as you tried to process what just happened.
“Oi, dumbass, if you’re not gonna run they’re gonna get you, you know.”
“I- uhhh… well this is a weird dream,” you chuckled nervously. “Tch, idiot,” was all he said before picking you up bridal-style and running faster than the hunters could catch up. You felt something whizz past your ear. “HOLY FU- THEY’RE SHOOTING AT US!” you yelled, grabbing at the man’s collar. “Thanks for stating the obvious, dumbass!” he yelled back. “Now would you shut up so I can focus on not dying?” You quickly turned silent after that statement. Without warning the… man? fox? man fox?? suddenly took a huge leap into the trees, landing on a branch that somehow held his weight. You yelped, then quickly covered your mouth in order to keep quiet as you saw the hunters running past from underneath. “They’re gone now,” you heard the man speak as he set you down on the branch. The tree you both were on was sturdy, giving you a secure foothold. You turned to face him. “Uh, thanks for saving me back there, but I’m pretty sure you were a fox when I first saw you…?” “Tch. Humans really have gotten dumber over the past few years haven’t they. I’m a kitsune. Ya know what that is?” Your eyes widened. “A-a kitsune as in the ones in the fairy tales? The foxes who can shapeshift to humans, and have many tails…” you trailed off, feeling stupid that you had not noticed earlier. The kitsune smirked in response. “Yeah, and I have nine, meaning I’m the most powerful. You’re lucky I was there to save you.” “You saved me? Who was trapped in a cage, huh? If anything, you should be thanking me,” you huffed, annoyed. Who did he think he was? He said nothing, simply gazing at you with interest written all over the flaming pools of scarlet that were his eyes. You tried not to feel intimidated by them, not knowing what powers this creature possessed. You could not deny that he was beautiful as a human, alluring even, with blonde hair similar to his fox fur, and his body looked as if it were sculpted by gods. You gulped, forcing yourself to stop staring at all the scars scattering his bare chest. He smirked as if he knew exactly what you were thinking of, causing your face to heat up. “Where do you live, dumbass? I’m sure you can’t climb down trees.” You rolled your eyes, embarrassed that he was right. “Not far from here, I’ll manage.” “Don’t be ridiculous,” was all he said before he lifted you in his arms again, leaping to the ground and taking you home in no time. “I didn’t even give you directions,” you said, confused. He sighed. “I could smell your scent from here. Why do you live in the middle of the forest?” “Caz I want to??” you said. “That’s weird,” he responded. “Don’t you live here too though?” you retorted. You saw a smirk flicker briefly on his face before being replaced again with his bored expression. “I’ll see you around then, dumbass.” He said, turning to leave. “Wait!” you called out, immediately regretting it. Why’d I do that? But there was no time to question your actions as he looked at you, eyebrow raised. “Uh, I-I just wanted to know your name,” you said a little breathlessly. “Katsuki Bakugou,” he said, never breaking eye contact. “Bakugou, huh? Well, I’m Y/N L/N,” you replied. Bakugou shrugged. “I’ll be leaving then dumbass.” You huffed. “I literally just told you my name!” “And?” was all he said, before vanishing through the foliage of trees. You exhaled slowly, feeling a little disoriented. You had so many questions but decided not to think too much of the day’s events, instead opting for relaxing in your new home.
The next day, you decided to just hang out at home, yet you could not get the kitsune out of your mind, making you frustrated. “Ah, fuck it,” you mumbled, before heading out. You were not sure where you were going, but you walked in the same direction you did yesterday. “What are you doing this you idiot? What if the hunters find you again?” you thought, yet your body did not listen, continuing to walk in the same path. You did not run into anyone on the way. Unfortunately, that included Bakugou. You decided to just sit down under a tree and read the book you had brought with you. You had been peacefully reading for a while, the sounds of the forest soothing to you ears.
“Well fancy seeing you here.” You whipped your head at the sound of his voice. You saw the fox with tan fur you rescued yesterday. “Bakugou?” He transformed into his human form, grinning as he did so. “So, what’re you doing here, dumbass? Missed me?” You rolled your eyes. “You wish. I came here to relax for a bit.” “Whatever you say, dumbass. What’re you reading?” You showed him your book, causing him to snort. “What?” you asked, slightly irritated. What was his deal? “Your taste is so bland, I’m not surprised.” “Fuck off,” you responded. “As if you’ve ever even touched a book before.” “I have,” Bakugou said, raising his eyebrows. “Didn’t peg you as the type to read,” you said, getting back to your book. “Is that all modern-day kitsunes do these days?” Bakugou shrugged. “I’ve never met any others here.” You looked back at him, surprised. “So… you’re alone?” “Tch. I just prefer to be by myself.” You nodded. “Me too.” “Pfft, you? You look like someone who would love being around people, with how much you talk and all.” You glared at him. “And this is exactly why I like being on my own.” He raised his arms. “I guess I’ll leave then. Since you seem to really hate company, right dumbass?” “My name is not dumbass, it’s Y/N. Why’re you so rude?” you hissed. You were met with silence when you realized he had left. You could not believe you actually came out all this way just to talk to him, only for him to randomly leave mid-conversation. You huffed, shifting your position to get more comfortable. “I’m still here you know.” You jumped, hearing his voice from above you. “What the hell?” He snorted in amusement. “You really think you could get rid of me that easily, dumbass?” You rolled your eyes, but inside you felt secretly happy that he had stayed, and you hated it. “You’re so annoying,” you retorted, turning a page in your book, yet somehow not really seeing the words. It was quiet for a while, before Bakugou jumped back down to the ground, sitting next to you. “Read that for me,” he said in a tone unlike his usual one. “What?” “You seem to like this trash so much, so read it,” he said, making himself comfortable. You sighed. “Fine.”
And so began the afternoons you would spend with him. Every day, you would meet him under the same tree and read. Sometimes he would fall asleep next to you, exposing a more soft and vulnerable side of him, contrasting to his normally brash and rough personality. It was pretty sweet, and over time, your feelings for him only grew. You were not sure, but you felt that he too had become softer and gentler around you as time went on. He even let you pet his ears, blushing whenever you did so, trying to hide his flusteredness behind his colourful words. He even went as far as falling asleep on your lap in wolf-form, making you happy he could trust you with the more vulnerable side of him.
You were at home, about to leave to meet Bakugou, when you heard some commotion outside. You were about to check when you heard the door break open. “Find them!” you heard a loud voice say. Your blood ran cold. The hunters? Why were they so set on revenge? You heard something break as they stormed through your house. Before you could grab something to defend yourself, one of them burst into your room, causing you to freeze. “There you fucking are,” he said moving towards you, blocking the exit. Thinking fast, you opened the window next to you and jumped out. Thankfully, it was close to the ground, so you easily picked yourself up and you ran, not daring to look back, but you heard them shouting and running after you. You sprinted down the familiar path, calling for Bakugou as you did. “Goddammit, where are you Bakugou?” you yelled as the hunters gained on you, when-
“The HELL you fuckers think you’re doing, HAH?”
You had never felt so relieved to hear his voice. “Bakugou!” “Stay behind me,” was all he said before going absolutely feral. He beat them up in no time, then watched as they ran away in terror. When he made sure they were gone, he turned to you, anger dissipating, his eyes filled with worry. “You ok?” You nodded weakly, then raised your arm, showing him the wound you had gotten when one of the hunters had shot at you. “It’s not bad, don’t worry. The bullet didn’t hit me, just grazed my skin.” “Shit,” Bakugou cursed as he took your arm in his hand, examining it. “That’s definitely more than a fucking graze.” “It’ll heal, I’m good at first aid,” you said. Bakugou looked at you, incredulous. “Dumbass, this needs more than first aid, are you really that stupid? Don’t move,” he said as his hands began to glow. He positioned them above your wound, using his power to heal you. “Thanks, Bakugou,” you said when he was done. “Really, I appreciate everything.” “Katsuki,” he said, not looking at you. “Huh?” you said, confused. “Call me Katsuki, dumbass.” A playful smile made its way on your lips. “Sure, when you call me Y/N.” He chuckled, then looked at you with a serious gaze. “I want you to stay with me.” You looked at him, dumbfounded. “W-What? What do you mean?” “Your home isn’t safe anymore. Those hunters could come back anytime, I went easy on them. I need you to be safe, Y/N, I-” he ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. “What would’ve happened to you if I wasn’t there? Just… please, become my mate Y/N. I’ll do anything for you, I’ll hunt for you, protect you, anything you want.” You were stunned, trying to process what he had just asked. “Y-You want me to be your… your mate? Why? And why would someone like you care so much about someone like me when no one really ever has?” He blushed, looking away to glare at the grass. “Fuck, I don’t know, maybe it’s caz I fucking love you, dumbass.”

-ˏˋ⋆ ̥ 𝗳𝗼𝘅'𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗲𝘁𝗵 – part one: the beginning (cyj)
pairing: choi yeonjun x fem!reader x kang taehyun
genre(s): fantasy, period!fic, nine-tailed fox!yeonjun, crown prince!taehyun, angst, fluff here and there
word count: 4,1k
the spirit who had been guarding the south side of the mountain, a nine-tailed fox, is requested by the crown prince of Joseon to make an appearance before his betrothed. though reluctant at first, he agrees on condition that their meeting is fleeting and under the guise of a mask.
an: this was inspired by the kdrama ‘tale of the nine-tailed’, hence the similar elements. events may or may not be historically accurate. ++ i’m really anxious about how this fic will be taken, but i’ve put too much effort in to let it sit in my drafts ksks. might post the part 2 if you want! let me know what you think!
(finally posting this as a gift for the immense support i’ve been receiving! thank you! ❤️ and low-key bc sumi has been thinkin about kitsune yeonjun)
Sealed by the promise of two youths many moons ago, your betrothal to the crown prince of Joseon was something which was not unbeknownst to anyone in the country. Many young ladies, noble and common alike, coveted your fortune and would make desperate pleas to the gods to have half the luck you did. And perhaps anyone else would have boasted about how fate had favoured them, but you didn’t.
“(Y/n)? Are you listening?” his highness asked, raising an eyebrow as you continued to flip through the pages of a book you had picked up from his desk. You placed the book back where you found it and turned to look from the pavilion, out across the pond and above the canopy tops to the mountains in the distance.
What had intrigued you about the palace was not the status, nor the riches, nor the people who dwelt within it. After all, you preferred to be neck-deep in books of history and literature, poetry, and volumes which questioned which was myth and which was reality. Your father, though, was as open-minded as anyone else was about the education of women at the time – not at all. So you had resorted to killing two birds with one stone; appeasing your father by agreeing to meet with the prince meant getting your hands on books you wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else.
But today, you had an entirely different motive.
“Do you believe in mythical beings, your Highness?” you asked, turning to face the prince who stared back at you, wide-eyed.
The seemingly sudden question had him taken aback.
From the very first meeting, you had puzzled Taehyun. Like you, although he knew he had to do it some day, the topic of his marriage hadn’t interested him. Or rather, it was more important to him that the person he would one day wed had the same interests as he did – the good of the people and the flourishing of the country.
He’d be lying if he said he didn’t expect you to be as crazed about love and titles as the other noblewomen of Joseon were, at first. So he was pleasantly surprised when you had arrived at Gyeongbokgung, not batting an eyelash in his direction. But when he had attempted to open discussions about politics and solving the exorbitant taxes expected from the people, he’d find your nose buried in one of the books from the pile you sifted through by his desk.
Taehyun was already struggling to figure you out, and now you asked him this.
“I’m not sure what you mean,” he cocked his head to the side, folding his hands behind his back. “have you come across something thought-provoking?”
“It’s quite straightforward; a yes or no question.” you shrugged, smirking as your eyes caught the not-so-discreet glances his personal guard and the eunuch had given one another.
Ultimately, to have relations with the throne was not all sunshine and roses. For your own protection, and to ensure you were not used as leverage against the king, your father had sent you very far from home – to Southern Jeolla. And it was upon your arrival back in Hanyang, after many years away, that you had come to hear the rumours which had surrounded the royal family.
A gumiho. A nine-tailed fox. The spirit which protected the forest. A being which could not be trusted. The one to whom the country owed it’s prosperity. The one at whose hands the country could fall into havoc.
You knew better than to believe the words of storytellers and self-proclaimed chroniclers. It was the fact that they had all said the same thing which had perturbed you. It left this unsettling feeling, which just wouldn’t fade away. So you read book after book, folklores and retellings, each and every documented account of those who had insisted they had seen the man with ‘eyes which glowed like hot embers even in the light of day’. It nearly drove you insane.
That was, until just this morning, when you had overheard the court ladies chattering away in hushed tones about how so-and-so had come to see the prince again, how much so-and-so frightened them, and how they wondered for how much longer the king would leave the future of the kingdom in the hands of such a wild-card.
You turned to look out beyond the trees again, a sudden gush of wind rattling their branches and sending their leaves sailing through the air. “Let me meet him. This... friend of yours, your Highness.”
“No.”
Taehyun nodded, taking a leaf from the shrub in front of him between his fingers, “I thought you’d say that.”
Yeonjun huffed, taking a bite out of one of the freshly picked apples the prince had brought along with him on his visit (as some sort of incentive, he supposed). The scowl he had adorned etched deeper into his face as Taehyun’s proposition crossed his mind a second time. He should have left the boy to the wandering spirits all those years ago, is what he thought. The fact that Yeonjun had allowed him to follow him around and meet with him must have made him cocky.
In the beginning, he trusted them. Yeonjun had spent thousands of years cultivating the forest and protecting those which lived beneath it’s canopy. He had taken an oath to never allow any harm to come to it, and as a sort of by-product, had taken up an arrangement with the king to hand over to him any miscreants who chanced into his territory. And for hundreds of years, this agreement was honored. King after king had revered the spirit who protected the people, throwing grand festivals in his honor.
Until humans did what they always do. They became consumed by greed and corrupted by power. They feared that the existence of a powerful being, and the esteem in which the people held it, threatened the very authority of the throne.
On a night which felt like yesterday to Yeonjun, the then king had convinced him to appear before the people, reasoning that he deserved to be celebrated and loved; not lurking in the depths of a forest where he wondered alone. His yearning for family provoked, he had left, only to return to enormous crackling fires which devoured everything in their path.
Now he was being asked to entertain the likes of one of them again? An insolent, entitled woman who was probably the daughter of some power-hungry government official nonetheless? He wouldn’t allow himself to be made a fool out of again.
“I’m aware you cannot leave the forest unguarded for long periods of time, especially at night,” Taehyun said, brushing the bits of earth from his hand onto his silk garment. “which is why I want to bring her here.”
The half-eaten apple hit the forest floor with a thud.
“What did you just say?” the same incredulity written on Yeonjun’s face, embedded into his voice.
Taehyun grinned sheepishly, “Hyung, can’t you do me this one favour?”
Quickly taking a seat beside him, the crown prince of the Joseon dynasty grabbed onto the sleeve of Yeonjun’s black robe and tugged at it. Yeonjun sucked a sharp breath of air through his teeth and slapped his hands away. The memory of a scared little boy in disheveled clothes, sobbing as snot ran down onto his lips crossed Yeonjun’s mind. He bit back the grin which fought to pull at his lips.
“I thought you weren’t interested in love? Why all the effort then?”
Taehyun dropped his hands from where they had been grappling at Yeonjun’s robe and stood up, clearing his throat before folding his hands behind his back again. Yeonjun smirked. “It’s not by choice, the woman in question is frightening. Only the gods would know the lengths she would have gone to had I refused her.”
Many minutes of back and forth bickering had passed before Taehyun managed to convince Yeonjun to appear before you. This reluctant agreement came with conditions, however. Leaving the mountain for even a moment during nightfall was out of the question, but that didn’t mean that he was okay with some suspicious woman wandering into his home. So, they had settled on the foot of the mountain closest to the north side. Yeonjun had also made sure to point out that although he had agreed to let you see him, he never agreed to introductions.
“You never struck me as the type to attend parties in the evening, your Highness,” you hollered from your palanquin which lagged behind his. When no reply came, you seethed, biting back the urge to punch a hole through the expensive wooden barrier in front of you. He had suddenly appeared at your father’s estate just as the sun had dipped beyond the horizon, not bothering to give an explanation before your father had the guards stuff you into the tiny varnished vehicle. “You haven’t yet answered me, your Majesty. The question from earlier.”
You cried out in pain when the palanquin was suddenly set down, tossing you up in the air like a shuttlecock. Hand still pressing down on your head from where it had hit the roof of the palanquin, you glared at Taehyun’s outstretched hand when the door folded open. You violently slapped the hand away and pulled back your skirt, nearly kicking his shins as you climbed out. Accidentally, of course.
Your behaviour amused Taehyun, a smirk finding its way to his lips. He whispered something to Soobin, his personal guard, who had given him a distressed look in return. He sighed as Taehyun placed a hand on his shoulder, giving a quick nod before returning to the entourage. You raised an eyebrow when Taehyun offered you a smile, gesturing his hand to the left of where the road forked into two.
The evening air was brisk; the various flora emitting a plethora of unique smells which blended together as they crawled into your nose. Leaves rustled as the forest creatures scurried across the floor; the occasional flapping of wings and hoots of the wide-eyed, mice-eating predators filling the otherwise eerie silence. The pale moon, which shone like a great halo in the sky, casted it’s light through the trees, creating beautiful natural skylights and mysterious shadows. The breeze was ever-so gentle, seemingly caressing your cheeks as you followed Taehyun down the path filled with earthy soil.
“You’re going to kill me aren’t you?” He chuckled at the question you had posed. He took a firm hold of your hand as he helped you cross the stream you had encountered, squeezing it a little tighter as your shoe glided off some algae, smiling when he heard the under-the-breath cuss.
When you had both safely crossed over into the field of long grass on the other side of the bank, he caught his breath for a moment. “My men say there came a troupe from Jeonju in Northern Jeolla a few days back,” Taehyun started, motioning for you to follow behind him as he stalked through the vegetation.
You groaned. Just how much torture was he planning to put you through? Did he find out you had ‘borrowed’ some of the books from his shelf?
After another few dreadful minutes of walking, an enormous tree came into your sights. It’s trunk looked as if it could house a small population, and it’s branches spread far across the open space; a meadow. Taehyun smiled in satisfaction and wiped the beads of sweat from his forehead, before placing his hands on his hips. Was this what he wanted to show you? You were far too tired, and your feet hurt way too much to enjoy the sentiment.
“Right, as I was saying,” The prince continued. You took a seat on the soft blades of grass and began pulling the shoes off your aching feet. “Despite journeying across the country to perform in gisaeng houses, I’m told the productions of this troupe were rather enthralling – ”
The sound of your snorting earned a glare from the prince. You shook your hand, “I find myself in constant surprise this evening, your Highness,” you laughed. “Hearing the term‘gisaeng’ from your mouth would send chills down anyone’s spine.”
The distant strumming of a zither whispered in your ears and your body froze. Slowly, the field, which had been lit only by the silvery hues offered by the moon, glowed in shades of green and yellow as fireflies hovered in the air. Then the zither stopped. Your neck snapped in the direction of scuffling feet by the tree trunk. Figures dressed in black placed paper lanterns varying in size at the base of the trunk, before scaling up to the branches.
A gasp slipped from your lips when the zither had suddenly started playing again; much louder this time. Ribbons dropped from different branches around the tree, carrying men and women who spun as they unravelled. Sporting white masks in the form of a fox, they danced around the tree, twirling and swinging back, dipping low before soaring through the air with such delicacy it gave you goosebumps.
“This performance is called the Fox’s Hiraeth,” Taehyun whispered, eyes fixated on the scene before of him, “you asked the other day did you not? About gumihos in Hanyang.”
His Highness’ attempt to throw you off was painfully obvious in that moment, and it did not go unnoticed. But just before you could make the remark that you had been carefully curating for exactly this situation, the zither had come to a stop once again. Leaves rustled above you and you lifted your head into a pair of the prettiest eyes you had ever seen.
They were a shade of light brown; little flecks of green and amber peeking from in-between when light passed through them. Bewilderment swam in those sparkling orbs behind the mask, it’s wearer holding his breath, not looking away for even a moment. The feeling in your chest drew a smile onto your lips, so big, it pushed up the corners of your eyes.
“Hello.”
He pulled back suddenly, and a strong gust of wind blew right through you, making you squeeze your eyes shut. The wind seemed to blow harder and harder – Taehyun had to press his hands onto your shoulders to prevent you from being gone with it. When it had died down and you opened your eyes again, you shot up, shoving his hands away.
The lights had gone out and the fireflies were nowhere to be seen. The lanterns and the troupe too had vanished into thin air; leaving not a trace. But that was not what was distressing you.
Hands clenching fists into your satin skirt, your eyes searched desperately, “where did he go?”
“Who?” Taehyun questioned, tightening the black cloth strings of his gat. He blinked, feigning innocence so professionally, it antagonised you. “The performance is over; we should leave.”
Pulling your lips between your teeth, the agonizing feeling of having lost something important tearing at your chest, you made a decision. You were positive that Taehyun knew exactly what was going on, but you weren’t about to waste any more time trying to force an answer out of the tight-lipped prince.
Where the meadow under the peculiar tree ended, the forest started again, and spread all across the mountain. You could have been mistaken, and that man may have just been another one of the performers. But it was the forest. It felt as if it was calling out to you; screaming. Every one of your limbs ached to dash into its depths.
Taehyun cleared his throat and turned away instantaneously when he noticed you hurriedly tearing off your blouse. You tossed the garment carrying the golden emblem to the ground, and slipped your shoes back on, ignoring Taehyun’s voice which bombarded you with questions.
He grabbed onto your hand before you left and you stopped, peering down at where your bodies were joined. “It’s dangerous.” he said; his voice as firm as his grip, yet eyes pleading with you like those of a child.
Despite your fathers’ lasting friendship, you had never met Taehyun until a few days ago. And if you did, you couldn’t recall. The confounded stares he had thrown at you upon your arrival had amused you; they were not contrary to that of the other noblemen and their sons whom your father had introduced you to. You didn’t act like the prince’s woman – they had probably expected someone who they could easily manipulate and bribe to their liking – but you were very much the opposite.
It was his behaviour in the days that followed which had taken you by surprise. He’d have books stacked up all around his desk which varied in genre, and were organised by author and publication date, whenever you visited. He seldom spoke and never forced conversation with you, but he’d call for tea and sweets then leave them at a certain place on the tabletop untouched. You’d catch his eyes glancing up at you every once in a while in your peripheral vision, and a smile would find itself to your lips.
He cared for you and you had grown to care for him as well. But you knew that if you left with him right now, your insatiable curiosity would only grow and you’d just end up returning here anyway.
Placing your hands over his, eyes asking him to forgive you, you slipped out of his grasp.
“I’ll be okay.”
Yeonjun paced up and down the cliff once more. He glanced over his shoulder at the mask resting against a boulder behind him, then slapped his hands onto his face and lamented. He couldn’t figure out what had gone wrong. Everything was happening exactly as he had planned – the dokkaebi had put on their show, relishing in the fact that they were pranking humans; the trees, the breeze and the critters had agreed to set the mood for what he had intended to be your heart being won over by the Taehyun.
He peeked through the spaces in his fingers at the wooden guise, and proceeded toward it. He knelt down and picked it up, eyes fixating on the slots where they were housed previously. He was certain he had prepared for everything, but that all changed when his eyes met with yours.
They stared back at him in surprise, but that surprise slowly transitioned into a warmth which enveloped him; the light of the lanterns which reflected from them, inviting him closer. They scared him, too. Under the mask he had given himself the appearance of one of the lumberers who frequented the forest, but your eyes seemed to stare right through him. They reached into his depths, baring him before you.
Yeonjun glared, irritated with how foolish he had been. He should have trusted his instinct and refused Taehyun no matter how much he insisted. It was absurd that after all these centuries he still let himself fall prey to the ludicrous fantasy he would ever be able to live and feel as they do – he knew that was the real reason he had gone along with this preposterous idea.
His grip on the mask tightened before he hurled it into the bushes. Your voice exclaimed an ‘Ow!’, making him topple over in surprise. The golden rays of sun spilled over the summit just as you stepped out from the flora, bathing you in it’s warmth and highlighting your features as it chased away the night. You rubbed your head profusely where the mask had hit you, pausing when you noticed Yeonjun’s figure on the floor.
Hands on your hips, smiling in triumph, you blew the stray strands of hair from your face. “Found you.”
He had never in his life met such a vivacious woman. Your hair looked like a bird’s nest; tiny twigs and leaves buried within the now tousled black locks. There were tears in your hanbok. Stains of dirt, grass and mud soiled the skirt. Alas, you still had a stupid smile plastered across your mucky face. He caught himself before he started grinning like an idiot too, shuffling amongst the earth before rising with his back turned towards you. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
You rolled your eyes and crossed your arms over your chest. Was he looking down on your intellect?
“You’re not very clever for an ancient spirit,” you remarked, tossing the mask at his feet. His frame froze, making you scoff.
The hair cascading down his back was a pale shade pink which shimmered under the light. It contrasted the pitch black robes he adorned, which were embroidered with silver. When he turned around to give you a look of wry amusement, you noticed the bangs which framed his face were more washed out in colour compared to the rest of his head. His slanted eyes were mono-lidded, and they glistened as beautifully as the night before. His lips were plump; it’s colour reminded you of the strawberry tanghulu you had seen in the market.
He stepped closer to you, smirking at the way you were entranced by his beauty, until his face stood only inches away from yours. You cast your eyes away from him, gulping as you took a step back. His eyebrows furrowed when you cringed, staggering before you fell to the ground.
“Are you alright?” he fretted, the role of the charismatic flirt quickly abandoning him as he helped you to your feet. He wrapped his arms around your waist, lifting you into his arms, and carried you to a place where you could sit comfortably. You gripped only his garments tightly, eyes still refusing to meet with his; the scent of flowers lingering on your clothes as he set you down. “His Majesty did not accompany you?”
He knelt down beside you and pulled off your shoes. Blood had soaked into your socks from all the hiking you had done the night before – the back of your shoes had cut deep into your heels; climbing over boulders and through thick vegetation had made the soles of your feet sensitive and prone to cuts and scratches. He pulled his lip between his teeth, eyes shooting daggers into yours.
He poured some of the alcohol he had been storing over your wounds, and massaged in the compound he made of medicinal herbs he had momentarily disappeared to go and find. He tore pieces of his robe to bind them when he was finished, then folded his arms over his chest. “I’m taking you back to the palace.”
You jolted up from where you were seated; Yeonjun pushed your shoulders back down. “None of my questions have been answered, I’m not leaving until they are.”
“Don’t you have a prince to marry?” he contended, tapping a finger on his chin, “they’re not going to be impressed when you return looking like this.”
“What’s your name? Are you really a nine-tailed fox? How old are you? Do you eat human livers? If so, why? Is it true that you are only able to receive titles like the ‘Spirit of the Mountain’ when you don’t feed human on livers? Are you actually a woman? Do you really want the best for this country? Do you wish to bring it to ruin for your own pleasure? Is it true that – ”
He took a step closer to you, and lifted your chin with his finger, closing your mouth. You held your breath as his eyes flickered to your lips, and he smirked noticing the blush spread across your face. He reached behind you and pulled the jade pin from your hair, the tresses falling gently down your back. Bringing the hairpin before you, and his lips to your ear, he whispered, “I dare not rob the future king of his woman, my lady. You should return home for your own safety.”
His hand travelled down the length of your arm, trailing goosebumps and setting fire to your skin. He placed the pin into your hand and lifted it, brushing his lips across your knuckles. His eyes locked with yours and you gasped as they glowed like a setting sun.
A horse whinnied as it strode into the area, making you tear your eyes away from Yeonjun’s. Taehyun slid off it’s back, rushing to your side. He grabbed onto your shoulders brows furrowing as he examined you from top to bottom. “Are you alright, (Y/n)?”
You nodded absent-mindedly, searching for where he had gone. Taehyun led you to his horse, and lifted you onto the saddle, sighing as he found you still trying to see past the trees and their leaves. You squeezed onto your chest as you rode away, an inexplicable feeling overtaking you. You had to see him again. Not out of curiosity. No, you – you just had too.
Yeonjun held onto the trunk of the pine tree and swung his body around from the backside. Watching you ride off into the distance, eyes still set on finding him, he sighed, twirling the ring he had slipped off your finger around his.
“(Y/n), huh?” he muttered under his breath, exhilarated by the way it rolled off his tongue.

genre — college au, gumiho au
disclaimer — !! light mentions of death, blood, and injury !! this is an wip of fic that I did not have the energy to complete, so it leaves off at a pretty big cliff hanger :( but if enough people enjoy it it I’ll make a part 2 or sumn lol (update: it does in fact have a part 2 now, go enjoy it!)
part I | part II | part III | part IV?
I.
“Nine tailed foxes,” the instructor stated, pointing their finger towards the pictures that were projected upon the board. There were three different depictions of the creature from other cultures posted up together, expressing how each of the cultures viewed the mythical being. Mindlessly you began to draw on the notebook set in front of you, taking in each picture and messing different aspects that you liked together.
“Known as the Kitsune in Japan, the Huli Jing in China, and the Gumiho here,” they continued, switching to the next slide that only displayed more old pictures of the fox, “they are a well known part of our folklore today that even western countries have begun to adopt their own version of this creature into their literature.”
“If it’s so popular, why are we learning about it now,” you mumbled, the lead of your pencil snapping as soon as the words had been spoken into existence. You let out a deep sigh at the inconvenience, letting an angry curse come out of your mouth as you leaned over to grab something new to write with.
Though you stopped mid turn as a black pen was placed into your vision. Curiously you glanced up to catch the smiling sight of Juyeon above you, waving around his pen and urging you to take it from his hand. “We’re learning about the Gumiho because it’s an important part of our folklore, just because it’s well known doesn’t mean you shouldn’t teach it.”
He was an acquaintance, nothing more than that, a “school friend” if that made more sense. You had met him the first day you attended the mythology class after picking up the course for fun, seeing as the only available seat in the room was by him. Having no friends who attended the class at the same time as you, he had offered to become one and you gladly took up his request in order to feel a little less only in the room full of strangers.
It was a little odd to see a class so minor like this be jam packed with students, but you did notice the recent influx of people who were interested in the mythologies of their and others cultures.
Plus, you didn’t do very well on your own and were a little more socially dependent than you’d like to admit, so Juyeon’s willingness to befriend you was greatly appreciated.
“Well, I guess you’re right,” you shrug, gratefully taking the pen out of his hands. “But still, what person doesn’t know the wild tales of the nine tailed foxes? They’re like… everywhere now. If I meet someone who didn’t even have a clue what I was talking about, I’d be surprised.”
“You never know,” Juyeon continued, urging you to take a look at the board. Being presented was the Korean version of the nine tailed fox, a few notes typed beside the art describing the details and depictions of what was generally believed about the fox demon. “Maybe one day you’ll need that information to save yourself from a Gumiho one day?”
You snorted at his words, pointing out one of the bullet points to him and quietly reading them to him. “First of all, this is a mythology class. That means everything we learn here is a myth, not real? Secondly, it clearly says that they seduce men and last time I checked, I’m not a man.”
“Well, I guess you’ve got a point there,” he nodded, laying his head in his hands as he half heartedly listened to the teacher speak. “I guess I’m the one who should be paying more attention to the lecture since I’m the man, but I don’t think a Gumiho would ever find interest in me.”
“Why?” You questioned, a teasing smile appearing on your face and you poked the pin cap into his side. “It’s said that gumihos eat human livers, do you have bad livers or something? Do you have some sort of liver disease that would make you undesirable to a fox?”
“If I say yes will you stop poking me?” He innocently asked.
“I’d know you’re lying if you said yes, you’re rather healthy despite some… odd habits you have,” you clarify, giving the boy a skeptical look before turning back towards the board. You were only acquaintances with Juyeon, but there were times you’d catch him in the hallways of the building or dorms when you were looking for Kevin doing skeptical activities. Most of the time he was just smuggling snacks that his roommate would steal out of the room but man did he look crazy while he did so.
“Hey, those aren’t odd habits, it’s me protecting what I paid for,” Juyeon argued, a pout developing on his face as he tried to explain himself, “if you don’t pay for it, you don’t get a bite of it! That’s the rules and you have to respect the rules.”
You only spared Juyeon a quick glance, your eyes full of skepticism for him. He was a nice guy, a decent person to hang around, but awkwardly catching him in the hallways like a criminal running from a crime scene was all you had to see from him to determine whether or not you wanted to hang around him often. “Y/N, seriously! I'm not some freak I promise, my roommates and I just do this often and—“
“Sure, Juyeon,” you nodded, softly patting his back in only slight comfort. “I completely understand what you mean.”
“Y/N!” He complained a little louder this time, earning some sneaking looks from the rest of your peers. The two of you weren’t the biggest troublemakers but you did have a volume problem more often than you’d like to admit. Though, that was mainly because Juyeon doesn’t understand when to keep his mouth shut. “Come on, Y/N, I know you don’t believe what I’m saying but you gotta! I can even show you what we—“
“I really don’t want to walk into that room,” you decline almost immediately, “something tells me I’ll regret it if I do.”
A small chuckle left Juyeon’s mouth at your harsh words, finally taking the response as an end to the conversation. It seemed as though the two of you had stopped just in time though, as a deep sigh left your instructor’s lips. The entire class turned their head towards him in confusion, unsure on what sort of gloom had possessed their mythology teacher.
“I think… I’ll end class early today,” he declared, turning off the board that had projected the day’s lesson. In a flash, your reference for your very own nine tailed fox disappeared in front of your eyes as the instructor continued to speak. “The rain just… throws me off the mood for today.”
Instinctively you turned your head toward the window and lo and behold, the rain was pouring down outdoors. Many students groaned at the sudden change in forecast, not having brought umbrellas to shield them from such weather since the day had called from sunny skies. “Ah… that’s gonna suck going home,” you tell yourself, noting how even you hadn’t brought an umbrella.
“Excuse me!” A student called out, drawing attention to the front of the class where they had seated themselves. “If you don’t mind me asking, are you superstitious? Usually rain is considered a good thing especially on wedding days. It’s supposed to be a good omen for the future of their marriage.”
“Superstitious?” He hummed in response, thinking to himself for a few moments before answering. “Well, in a sense? Not for the reasons you think I am though.”
“Does it have something to do with gumihos?” You couldn’t help but ask, curiosity getting the best of you as you blurted out in front of everyone. The class turned back to look at you expectantly, exchanging confused and bewildered glances with each other. Even Juyeon looked at you as though you were beginning to lose your mind. You don’t really blame them, rain didn’t really have anything to do with gumihos after all.
However, your teacher smiled at you. His eyes crinkled at their sides and his wrinkles from age becoming more prominent as his smile continuously grew larger as he thought about his answer again. “Something my grandparents used to tell me when I was younger,” he began, each student getting left on the edge of their seats as he turned back towards the rainfall, “that when it rained, it meant a gumiho had entered the premise.”
II.
“You don’t actually believe him, do you?” Juyeon asked, holding the borrowed umbrella over your heads. The boy had offered to walk you home in the disastrous, knowing you lived off campus instead of in the dorms. The dorms were a lot closer to the apartment you had rented out, so the two of you had scrambled over to his room first in order to grab an umbrella and begin the trek to your home.
He was only walking you towards the closest bus stop to the campus, not wanting to intrude on your privacy any further than he already was. Juyeon was just your acquaintance from mythology after all, he was just a little too nice to let you go out into the rain and get soaking wet.
“What, about the whole rain and gumiho thing?” You responded, remembering your teacher's statement he had ended the class with. You shrugged after a moment to yourself, “honestly, not really. I mean, come on, gumihos being related to the rain? It doesn’t even make that much sense the more you think about it.”
“I guess you’re right,” he agreed, “but don’t you think it’s a little weird how he seemed to believe it? Whole heartedly too, he ended the whole class over some superstition his grandparents told him!”
“It’s probably an old saying in his family or something,” you ultimately decide, nodding your head to yourself as you come to a conclusion. “Lots of people have things like heirlooms and stories that get passed down from generation to generation, maybe that’s what that was. Maybe his family is really big on nine tailed foxes and rain.”
He shook his head in disagreement, stopping in place and nearly causing you to get soaked by the downpour. “I don’t think so, why would they pass down a saying like that when gumihos aren’t real?”
“How do you know that they aren’t real?” You challenged him.
“Because if they were real, then we wouldn’t be learning about it in a mythology class and calling it folklore,” Juyeon stretched his arm out so that the umbrella was covering the both of you as he kept talking, “Humans are like… cockroaches. We force ourselves into the lives of other beings, I think we would have done something about gumihos by now don’t you think?”
You grinned at him as you rocked back and forth on your feet absentmindedly, nugging his shoulder soft as you teased, “wow, I know the lesson wasn’t long today but did you already forget that we were taught? Once a fox has lived for a thousand years, it becomes a gumiho and can shapeshift! How will you know your face to face with a fearsome nine tailed fox when they look exactly like any normal stranger on the street?”
You didn’t even give the boy a chance to speak as you stood in front of him, your back getting pelted with the rain droplets as you continued to jeer, “anyone could be a gumiho. I could be a gumiho, your roommate could be a gumiho, our teacher could be a gumiho, even you could be a gumiho and we’d never know a thing!”
“I think you're forgetting something,” Juyeon countered, pulling out his phone from his pocket and waving it in your face. “Humans have technology, we’ll just develop more technology to find them if we need to.”
“Gosh, you’re no fun,” you pout.
“And your bus stop is right there,” he pointed behind you, taking note of the metal structure built on the side of the road.
You struggle to decide whether or not you want to steal his umbrella as payback for being the way he was but ultimately ditched the idea. “Fine, I’ll see next week then? That is, if you don’t get eaten by a gumiho that is.” You teased.
You watched as annoyance contorted on his face, wanting to find a reason to be mad at you but unable to keep the grin off his face. “I’m not going to be eaten by a gumiho, Y/N. Did we not just have the conversation that they aren’t real?”
“Gumihos seduce men to absorb their energy!” You argued once more. “You’re a physically fit guy whose kept his livers healthy and you’ve got the looks to draw attention to you, you’re the perfect meal for a nine tailed fox to catch!”
“Go home, Y/N,” he urged, pushing you out from under his umbrella. You whined at his audacity and quickly covered your head with your hands in an attempt to shield yourself from the rain. The boy only laughed at your reaction before waving you off, giving you a small farewell as you rushed over towards the bus stop.
When you glanced back to find him again, Juyeon was gone, turned around the corner with his umbrella in tow and forcing you to sit and wait for the bus stop to come if you didn’t want to be soaked by the time you got home.
“Sheesh he could have waited until the bus actually came,” you complained, sitting back on the bench with a somewhat annoyed frown donning your face once again. Juyeon always seemed like he was in a hurry at times, whether he was sneaking around the dorms on your campus or rushing through the hallways to get to his next destination, he always had somewhere to be. There were times where he’d completely ignore your existence in and outside of your mythology class because of his need for action, too busy with his daily life to even spare you a glance.
You wondered where he so urgently needed to go at times, but ultimately knew that was none of your business. The two of you were nothing but classmates, school friends who helped each other out every so often whenever you got the chance. You had no right to dig into Juyeon’s business, so you never tried to cross the line the two of you set up for each other. You don’t really know if you wanted to cross it in the first place.
Besides, he never even said hello to whenever he was in a rush! Why bother trying to discover something where he has to completely ignore your existence to do it? That wasn’t exactly your type of information and gossip you wanted to gather and indulge in.
You sat at the bus stop for around three or four minutes, unwillingly listening to the pitter patter of the rain on the bus stop glass. Like your superstitious instructor, you weren’t very fond of the rain but not for the same reasons. The weather would always ruin plans you had been looking forward to for weeks and the days that came after it always felt humid and musty, you didn’t enjoy the aftermath of rain like other people did.
Don’t even get you started on the days where a thunderstorm would roll over the city, those were the worst days of your life.
You snap out of your daze for a moment, however, completely forgetting your hatred for the raining weather at the sound of barking floating through the air. You tried to ignore it at first, comfortably leaning against the side of the structure and scrolling across your phone to distract yourself, but you couldn’t help it. The more you tried to pretend like the sound didn’t exist the louder it seemed to become, which was a lot seeing as the downpour was a little louder than normal.
Begrudgingly, you stood up out of your seat and shoved your phone deep into your pockets. “Is the universe trying to tell me something today?” You mumbled, covering your head with your hands and stepping out into the rain. You peered across the street where the barking was coming, checking the side of the road for any oncoming cars before rushing to the other side.
The closer you got to the other sidewalk, the louder and more distinct the barking became, resembling more of a young dog than a fully grown one. The barks were more closely related to squeaky toes than anything if you had to be honest; light, annoying, and young. But there was no one else on the street beside you, and your morals were telling you to involve yourself instead of run away.
“Puppy...or puppies?” You called, not exactly having a name to call out for the animals. You don’t even know if they could hear you over the rainfall, but it was worth a shot. If they didn’t come running to you soon you were going to run right back to the bus stop for shelter and go home. You didn’t want to fall ill from standing out in the rain for too long and you didn’t want to miss your bus stop either. “Come here, boy! Or girl…? Whatever you are, come here! I’ll get you some place warm and out of the rain.”
There was no response, which was to be expected. They were animals, not humans, so they couldn’t exactly reply back even if they really wanted to. The barking was still echoing across the area but there was no sign of the animal making all the commotion, not to mention the fact that the rain was beginning to fall harder with each passing second. You might have to give up early if you didn’t want to get caught in a potential thunderstorm, it hurt your heart but you had to take care of yourself as well.
“Ah, I better hurry up before I miss the bus home… walking is going to be a pain if I do,” you mumble to yourself, turning to sprint across the street.
Though you stopped yourself from moving when you heard the sound of bells echoing against your ears, ringing loud and clear within your head as if it was right in front of you. You cautiously look around you for the source of the bells, the jingling rippling out to the rest of the world like a droplet of water falling into a lake. The bells chimed again in your head, yet this time pulling in a certain direction and urging you to continue on that way.
Glancing between the bus stop and the direction you were being pulled toward, you followed the jingling of the bells. Everything in your body was telling you that chasing after the ringing was a bad idea but nevertheless you pushed forward. The dog barking had completely gone silent and the loudest thing in the area was no longer the rain, but the bells in your ears.
You scurried across the sidewalk like a cat, trying your best to stay dry in the unfortunate weather but ultimately failing as you began to feel your clothes stick to your skin. “Ah, there’s no way I’m not going to be sick after this.” You mumbled, turning the corner to peer down an alleyway where the bell chiming was the strongest.
“I’m wet and cold and I’ve been out here for way too— oh my god!” A scream fell out your mouth as you tumbled to the ground petrified by the sight before you. Slumped up against the wall was a boy, barely clinging onto his life as he took slow ragged breaths to keep himself stable. On his arms was the familiar crimson red creeping down his forehead and splattering to the ground, creating a mixture of water and blood pooling underneath him.
Did you just find the end results of a bloody fight? In the middle of the city and close to your college’s campus no less?
“Excuse me, are you alright?” You called out to him, mentally smacking yourself for asking such a question. Clearly the boy wasn’t okay, he was bleeding out in the middle of the rain!
Despite the stupidity of the question, he slowly turned his head toward you. A majority of his face was covered by his hair being plastered against his head thanks to the rain so you couldn’t exactly see if he was looking directly at you, but the mere fact that he was responsive was enough for you.
You hurry over to him as fast as you could, though careful not to slip and fall on the slippery ground, before crouching down next to him. “Can you move at all? It’s not good to sit out here in the rain and waste away, you need to go to a hospital or something—“
“No,” he declined, forcing himself to sit up against the wall and make an attempt to stand up. The boy struggled to himself up right, leaning against the wall for support and the severity of his wounds being put on display. It didn’t look like he got into a fight, per se, more like he had been attacked by an animal. He had large gashes that covered his body and his clothes were tattered and stained with the red hue they leaked down his arm. He needed any sort of medical attention, right away or he might actually bleed out in the middle of the alleyway.
“Can you not see that you’re hurt?” You hissed, grabbing a hold of his wrist and tugging him down to your height. The boy grimaced at your toughness as you rolled up his sleeve, catching sight of an ugly yet fresh scar that needed to be addressed immediately. “You need to go to a hospital, or you’ll die out here in the rain.”
“No,” he challenged you, his face somewhat akin to an animal’s snarl as he tried to snatch his arm away from you. In that instance you heard the soft of the bells that had led you down the alleyway, much louder than they had been before and nearly drowning at the words that the boy had spoken. It sounded like… the ringing was coming directly from him. “I can’t go there, I won’t go there. They won’t be able to help anyway.”
“Are you an idiot?” You couldn’t help but ask, almost scoffing at his persistence to stay away from medically trained professionals. His lips formed into a pout, appalled by the fact that you had the audacity to call him an idiot. “I’m trying to help you man. It’s raining, you’re bleeding out, and I’ve probably missed my ride to go home. Please don't take my kindness for granted and let me help you.”
III.
You laid down in the middle of your bed, staring at your ceiling as you struggled to recall the events from the day before. It’s not like you to forget things easily or anything, in fact you had a rather decent memory when it came to remembering events that had taken place beforehand. You didn’t have a photographic memory, you just had a habit of remembering little details that have happened throughout your day.
But right now? You couldn’t remember a single thing that had happened yesterday.
Most of what you could remember was leaving your mythology early because your teacher had ended the class early. He didn’t like the rain and it had shifted his mood and everyone was grateful for the extra time off. Juyeon had generously offered to walk you to your bus stop with his umbrella so that you could get home without getting rained on and…. that’s where it ends. You can’t recall anything that happened after that. You don’t even remember ever walking into your house the more that you think about it.
“Alright, this is weird,” you declare, forcing yourself to sit up off of the bed. At least you had no classes to attend, you don’t know how you could pay attention to anything you were being taught if you had to deal with your sudden memory loss. “Why can’t I remember anything? Why does it feel like what u forgot was something really important too…?”
Just when you felt as though you were on the verge of pulling your hair out, your phone began to ring. It was a lot louder than you originally set the volume on and was practically screaming at you to pick it up instead of ignoring it like normal. Frustrated, you snatched the device from underneath the sheets and answered the call with a much more aggressive “hello?” than you had meant to start with.
“Y/N, are you okay?” Juyeon’s voice registered through the speaker.
Juyeon. Why was Juyeon calling you right now? The two of you don’t usually call each other unless it was something class related because you weren’t close enough to each other to hold conversations like that. So the mere fact that he had called you out of the blue like this was…. weird to say the least. “Of course,” you replied, giving your voice a lighter tone than when you had answered. “Why wouldn’t I be?”
“You called me a couple of times yesterday but I didn’t answer because I was busy,” he clarified, giving you a little peek as to what had happened the day before.
You called Juyeon first, why would you do that? You didn’t even call him once, but multiple times given the way he had worded his sentence. You’re not even close to Juyeon, why would you even dare to call him several times yesterday? If you were in trouble you should have just called Kevin like normal! “Are you saying you don’t remember?”
“Yes, actually, I don’t remember anything that happened yesterday.” Maybe you had gone to go get a drink or something before coming home and that’s why your thoughts from yesterday were blurry. But you’re not the type of person to drink that much, at least not alone you wouldn’t. “Listen, Juyeon, I’m sorry about all of this. I didn’t mean to call you, I was just… out of it or something. I don’t know I just can’t remember right now.”
“It’s fine, Y/N, don’t worry I’m just glad you’re alright. I got worried something might have happened to you but hearing you now makes me relieved.” You smiled at his words, letting his caring words for you twirl around in your head like ribbons. Juyeon was just too nice to you, honestly, but he was probably like this with everyone he knew. It made sense if he was, he was kind to almost everyone he met.
Before you could answer, the jingling of bells echoing through your ears, distracting you from any other words that might have come out of the boy’s mouth. You glanced around the room for shunting that could have made the noise, but you don't exactly have anything that could chime like the whimsical clicking of a wind chime. “Do you hear that?” You asked him, cutting off the boy mid sentence as you stood up.
“I’m sorry, I don’t understand,” he answered, “what am I supposed to be hearing? All I hear is you.”
In a flash all of the memories from the day before flooding back to you. The barking, the bell ringing, and the injured boy who refused to go to the hospital to treat his wounds. It all came back to you now, but why had it gone away in the first place. “I’ll… I’ll call you back, Juyeon.”
“Y/N? Y/N, what's wrong? Is something—“ you hung up before he could finish his sentence, cautiously following the ever growing sounds of the bells you had heard earlier. The closer you got to your door, the louder the chiming became, probably signifying the fact that you were going in the right direction. The last time you had followed the bells, they led you straight to the wounded boy. So if your hunch was right, it was most likely leading you straight back to him.
You carefully opened the door to your room, peering through the crack in the door frame to see what was going on. It was eerily silent and for the most the entirety of your apartment showed no signs of inhabiting a second person. “That’s odd…,” you noted, fully stepping out of your room to look around the room for the boy from yesterday. It seemed as though he hadn’t even lived in your house for an hour. “I don’t think he ever left… and I still can hear those bells so he can’t be far.”
Goosebumps ran down your spine as a cold wind blew through your living room. Something was off, you’ve never felt uneasy in your own home before. You had picked this apartment to live in because it felt comfortable and warm like home, but the only thing you were getting from it now was the feeling of being watched. As if a pair of eyes were carefully taking in your every move to determine how you’d react next.
“I know, you’re here,” you stated, rolling your eyes as you began to turn around. “You couldn’t have left in the middle of the night, you were bleeding out and collapsed as soon as you—“
You stopped mid sentence when you stopped the boy in the hallway to your bathroom, frazzled and confused by his surroundings yet still keeping a close eye on you. Now that he wasn’t soaking wet and bleeding (thanks to your amateur bandaging skills) you couldn’t help but notice how much more innocent without the dramatic effect of everything that had happened yesterday. “You really are still here, nice to see you didn’t die while I was asleep.”
“Where am I?” He demanded, not as aggressive as he was the day before but still in a rather rude tone you weren’t expecting from him. “How did I get here and… who are you?”
You slumped onto the small couch of your living room, glancing around the room for a moment before turning back to him with a cheeky smile on your face. “Heaven. You died in your sleep and now you’re in heaven. In the goddess that's going to accompany you through the afterlife.”
“Lies, you just said I didn’t die while I was sleeping,” he quickly pointed out, catching your lie as soon as it came out your mouth.
“Woah, despite all those injuries and passing out in the way here you still have a working brain, that’s good to know,” you tease him, watching as the boy rolled his eyes at your tiny jabs. “I’m Y/N but i guess you can just call me your savior really. Oh, and this is my house. You slept on the couch last night and I appreciate the fact that there is no blood on my cushions. Thanks.”
He nodded his head in understanding, though it seemed like the movements weren't actually correlating to what his mind was thinking. “Wait, you’re my… savior? No that doesn’t make any sense.”
“Why not?” You questioned, “I saw you bleeding out in an alleyway yesterday and I tried to take you to hospital but you kept refusing to go, so I just… took you home. I address your wounds and everything and just hoped that when I woke up there wouldn’t be a corpse in my living room. Luckily, as we see now, there isn’t. I saved your life.”
“No!” He yelled, rolling up his tattered clothes to find messily wrapped bandages all over his body. “Why would you do that?”
“Because you were dying?” You blurted, confused to the boy’s sudden panic. “What would you rather have bled out in public for all to see?”
“Yes, actually, that would have been the better option of the two.” How ungrateful was this boy? You saved his life and all he has to say is that he wished you didn’t? Maybe you should have strayed away from your morals for a second because all that had gotten you so far was a boy with no manners. “I don’t think you realize what you’ve done.”
“I have realized what I’ve done,” you responded, “I’ve saved your life because I’m a good person. Why are we arguing about this, there are no downsides to getting your lives saved. Wait, are you embarrassed because you got attacked by some feral cat and nearly died? Not gonna lie, I’d be embarrassed about something like that too.”
“I wasn’t… attacked by a cat,” he explained, a scoff threatening to spill out of his mouth at your bizarre accusation. “I don’t think a cat could make those types of scars.”
“If it wasn’t a cat…” you began, thinking aloud as you tried to member the wounds that covered the boy’s body. The more you pictured them in your head. The more you realize those weren’t… cat scars. They still seemed as though they were animal scars but a cat didn’t make that big a gash on a person’s body. You should have known, you’ve gone to cat cafes enough to have learned the hard way. “Then what…?”
“Gumihos,” the boy replied, tearing off the bandages you had wrapped around him the night before. You winced as you watched your handwork tumble to the ground, but were more concerned over the fact that the gashes on his arm were healed almost completely overnight. “I was attacked by gumihos.”
“Nine tailed foxes?” You blurted, more for yourself than the boy. Seeing you bewilderment made a smile begin to etch across his lips, childish yet mischievous as you tried to break down what you had learned in your head. “But… those are just folklore, they aren’t real. If they were, one would have been caught by humans at this point.
“Why? Don’t you know that a gumiho can shapeshift? They live among humans as if they were any other mortal in order to get what they want in life,” the boy explained, reminding you of the words you had thrown at Juyeon for making the same excuse. “You really think that they’d let a human catch sight of their existence and get away with it?”
“Okay then answer me this,” you ask, sitting up attentive to the stranger you had brought into your home. “If gumihos are real… then why did one attack you and leave you out to die? Don’t they usually kill humans for their livers and hearts? You should have been devoured by now.”
A hearty laugh left the boy’s mouth, much stronger and louder than the small giggle from earlier. His smile couldn’t stop growing on his face as he blinked his eyes at you, the dark browns of his iris swapping out to a bold amber yellow color. His pupils slowly began to dilate into the familiar small slits of a cat’s as your own eyes widened in pure fright. The boy you had saved had now become your greatest mistake. “What makes you think I’m human?”
IV.
“Juyeon!” You hissed at the boy, urging him to come to you once you had finally caught sight of him. He was walking with a group of his friends, people who hadn’t mingled with and didn’t know whether or not you wanted to in the first place. When the boy had turned his head to you, the entirety of his friend group did as well, displaying their bright and eager smiles as they waved their hands in greeting. Awkwardly you greeted them back, unsure of what to do next as they also whispered and muttered to themselves as they let Juyeon break from their group.
Hopefully it was something nice and not anything that could hurt your feelings. They were still grinning and jeering with each other despite whatever comments they were making, so maybe it was a conversation of their approval. Or at least… you hoped it was, you couldn’t really tell the difference. You acted like you had a tough shell but in reality you were way too soft when it came to a stranger’s perspective of you.
“What’s up Y/N?” He greeted, a fond smile plastered across his face as he stood in front of you with his hands shoved in his pockets. “It’s a rare sight to see you interact with me when we don’t have a class together. It must be serious.”
“Well…” you trailed off, unsure of how to explain to him. “I guess it’s serious? But nothing too serious… I need some advice really, that’s all.”
“Advise?” Juyeon questioned, intrigued by the topic you had brought him. “Wow… of all the people could have chosen, you need my advice! I can’t help but say I’m honored. But what happened to your other friend… Kevin was his name, right? He would come to walk you home after class sometimes, why aren’t you asking him?”
You grimace at the thought of the boy before quickly waving the thought away. “Kevin will just think I’m crazy and make fun of me. Plus, I think you’re probably most equipped to help me out here since we take mythology together and all.”
“Ah… still keeping this as a school oriented friendship right?” He teased, getting a small laugh to leave your mouth. “Alright, what is it? What mythological help do you need this time? I’m all ears.”
You hesitated for a moment, unsure on how to word your sentences without sounding insane. The whole reason you had gone to Juyeon instead of Chanhee was because he would understand you a little better than your friend could. “Gumihos… you know how we’re learning about them currently, right? Is there something that people should know about them in order to protect themselves from one?”
Juyeon raised a brow at your question, staying silent as he thought to himself. “Gumihos? I thought you didn’t want to learn about gumihos because it was pop culture and everyone knows about them?”
“Well, what can I say!” You exclaimed, hoping to cover up your nervousness as much as possible. “I decided to take up a personal essay of sorts on those nine tailed foxes. I got intrigued a few days ago about them and I wanted to get as much information as I could about them, but we don’t go back to our mythology class until I… really can’t wait to get started.”
In reality, you actually had that gumiho boy holed up in your apartment still. In fear of the boy actually attempting to devour your liver you had locked him up in your bathroom and placed a talisman on the door so that he couldn’t escape. You had absolutely no clue on how to deal with a gumiho and you had only recently started your lesson on the fox spirits a few days ago. So needless to say, you wanted to be prepared for whatever might come next while housing him.
“That’s fair,” Juyeon agreed, taking your lie like candy and smiling brightly back at you. “I mean, the concept of nine tailed foxes are pretty cool, so I can’t blame you for looking into them a little further than everyone else.”
“So?” You asked, eagerly awaiting his answer, “Do you have any information I should know?”
“Well… there's this one thing I’ve been told before by my grandparents,” he explained, trying his best to recall past memories that had no use up until now. “Yeah, they would use old myths as stories to tell me before bed when I was a kid. They told me that no matter what fork a gumiho comes in, never let them kiss you.”
“Kiss?” You blurted out, shocked that that was the one thing he decided to share. “What’s kissing got to do with fox spirits?”
“It’s how they take your energy,” Juyeon told you, putting his pointer fingers together as if mimicking a kiss between two people. “When a gumiho kisses you, they absorb your energy. The more energy they absorb the weaker you become until you eventually die! Kinda scary, right? Not only do they feed off of human livers, but our mere life essence.”
“What type of bedtime story is that,” you mumbled, skeptically glancing over Juyeon. If that was the type of stories he was being told as a child, how was he not a little messed up in the head? If you were him, you would be absolutely terrified of everything even approaching you. Who knew when someone would randomly come up and kiss you? Your first and last kiss would be from a fox trying to steal your life away!
“I was very easy to tease as a child,” he shrugged, his smile turning sheepish as he softly scratched the back of his neck. “My grandparents loved telling me stories like that because I was an emotional little kid, ease to scare and quick to try and stuff like that.”
“That makes a little more sense,” you nodded, “no sane person would tell that as a bedtime story, it’s always got to be told to a child that’s easily scared.”
“Yeah, yeah, say what you want. If they hadn’t told them those stories of gumihos, I probably wouldn’t be taking mythology now,” Juyeon explained, glancing back toward the direction your shared class was. “And if I didn’t take mythology, you wouldn’t have any friends in that class.”
You shrug in response, he was right. If Juyeon had decided that he didn’t want to take the mythology course you probably wouldn’t have ever met him in the first place. So that was one good thing that had come out of his grandparents scaring him into the folklore of nine tailed foxes. “If you don’t mind me asking by the way,” the boy continued, switching topics while he still had your attention. “Whatever happened that day? You said you’d call me back but you never did. I can’t lie, I was a little worried for you again.”
“Ah, that,” you stall, struggling to make up a lie off the time of your head. You felt bad for lying to Juyeon more than you already were, you heard what he said! He’s worried about you and you didn’t want to put any more of load onto his back with your supernatural problems. “Well, I think I’ve got spirits in my house. I’ve been hearing weird noises sometimes and I thought you could hear it too, that’s why I asked.”
“Funny how things like this happen to a mythology student, huh? I wonder what kind of spirit has skipped their way into your house then.” Juyeon laughed, shaking his head at the ironic situation you had got yourself in, “well if you ever find yourself needing a home away from home, my dorm room is always open? We’d have to clean up a little bit before you arrive and sneak you in but anything to get away from spirits, right?”

Smoke and Mirrors ~ Sesshomaru x Reader
(( You’ll have to excuse me if I make any lore mistakes. I watched/read InuYasha 7 years ago and I forgot a lot of stuff, but I’ve been thinking about this story idea for a while...So here we are. ))
“Father? Why are we here?” a young Sesshomaru asked his father, Toga, the Lord of the Western Japan, Leader of the Dog Demon clan. “You are my son, Sesshomaru, and some day, when I will be no more, you will be the new ruler of this place. Everything you see with your eyes, and far beyond the horizon, every living being and every inch of land, will be under your rule.” Inu no Taisho began his explanation to his young son, who resembled him so much. “That is a lot of responsibility you are putting on my shoulders, father.” the boy spoke in a calm voice. “Such is the burden that a Lord must bare, and for that, I apologise. However, this is our duty, and our people must live in peace.” the older man nodded, putting his hand oh his son’s shoulder. “What is it that you want to say, father? I can sense there is something bothering you.” his father smiled softly at how perceptive and witty his flesh and blood is. “Yes, you are right. What I wanted to inform you is that, as you know already, soon enough, you will have to marry, and I have found you a suitable bride. She is the daughter of the Lord of the Northern Japan, the Leader of the Fox Demon clan, and the man I trust the most in my life. He is a brilliant Warlord and his people are thriving, his land has not seen War in centuries, and we agree that together, this country will be much safer.” Toga explained his reasoning and it seemed that the young one sketched no expression on his deadpan face. “I see. When are we going to see her?” was the simple reply he uttered, which left his father with wide eyes, clearly not having expected that. “In a week. She is very young, and the marriage won’t happen for a long time, but we believe getting to know each other would prove to be beneficial...And we truly hope you will get along as well as I and her father do.” the Dog Demon lord smiled down at his son, who could only nod and hum in agreement. “We shall see.” Sesshomaru muttered, before turning around and leaving back inside his home.
A week passed by faster than the breeze of Spring, and so, Inu no Taisho took his son, Sesshomaru, on a journey that lead to the Northern Kingdom, to the Clan of the Fox Demons, and much to the young one’s surprise, there were a ton of unbelievable phenomena happening all around him, that made him get ready to strike, but his father could only chuckle in amusement, clearly unphased by all the trickery.
By the time they stepped up in front of the Castle, they were greeted by a tall man with long, red hair like the blazing fire and striking green eyes that would rival the beauty of a forest. And on his face, there was a very annoying and mischievous smirk that seemed to greatly irritate the young Dog Demon for his smugness and aloof aura he radiated.
“Toga, my old friend, marvelous seeing you again! It’s always such a great pleasure having your companionship, and now, you brought your mini-you!” the man took a long drag of his pipe, letting out a puff that oddly resembled a fox jumping around playfully, before the nine tails, long and red, spread open like a fan of fire behind him, and stepped down the stairs to greet them. “Kasai, it is as you say, always great seeing you. This is Sesshomaru, my son. Sesshomaru, this is Kasai, the Fox Demon Lord I told you about.” the white haired man grinned at his best friend, who gave of a sly grin and bent down from the waist, looking into the boy’s amber eyes. “My, Toga, I believe this young one is going to surpass you in looks, strength and maybe even wit too. I bet Y/N is going to love you in no time. Maybe even put a smile on this cold face of yours...” Kasai hummed teasingly as he pinched the boy’s cheek, which made him glare and slap his hand away. “Sesshomaru, be more courteous!” his father warned, but the red haired man only laughed in amusement, shaking his head and putting his hands inside the opposite sleeves. “Worry not, my friend, he was right to do as he did! Now, if you wouldn’t mind, follow me to the tea room. Y/N is a bit shy so she is still with her mother, doing her hair.” he started walking ahead, only to be greeted by two red haired beings, one mature while the other much younger, yet both wearing rich, pink kimonos with intricate embellishments of gold, their hair mostly let loose, to fly with the wind, but the upper part was held with gorgeous flower ornaments.
Unlike the man in cause, however, their skin was much paler and had natural red markings, fit for being the Nine Tailed Kitsunes from humans’ tails and paintings and their eyes, as green as Kasai’s, yet much more piercing and richer than his.
It was clear to Sesshomaru that women of this clan, perhaps only the nobles, or maybe all of them, had much more delicate and beautiful features than men did, and now, he could understand why humans seemed to fear yet adore the Nine Tailed Foxes so much.
The look they gave you with those jade-like eyes seemed to go right into your soul, leaving you naked, exposed, to the whole world to see and read, only for you to want to beg for more of this seducing charm of their.
It was no secret power, it was just beauty, and they knew how to glorify it, from young to old.
“Ah, look who we have here! My darling, you look radiant! Here, here, this is Toga, my dear old friend, and this little one is his son, Sesshomaru.” the man planted a soft kiss on his daughter’s forehead, before putting his hand on her back, encouraging her to step in front of the two new men. “It’s great finally meeting the man who accompanied my papa on so many adventures. I am Y/N, it’s a pleasure.” the young one smiled shyly, bowing her head slightly to show her respect for the two visitors. “My, she’s so adorable! And she has such an angelic voice! She truly resembles her mother more than you, Kasai!” Inu no Taisho gave a mirthful laugh that strongly throughout the forest. “Toga, Toga, always so nice with everyone! How is Inukimi, I haven’t heard from her in a while! Is she a bit jealous that cute, little Sesshomaru looks more like you than her?” Moeru put her hand to her mouth, humming in amusement. “Moeru, darling, let’s get Toga inside for tea and let the children get to know each other and have fun. I’m sure they couldn’t care less about our adult conversations.” Kasai suggested, putting his arms around both his wife and best friend, guiding them inside.
After a few silent seconds between the fox and dog demons, the girl cleared her throat and raised her head slightly, to meet to boy’s golden eyes, giving him a playful smile.
“I heard you will be staying over for the night. Is that true?” she asked, already knowing the answer, and yet, wanting to play coy. “It is.” he answered in a monotonous voice. “Twilight is going to appear...Come on, let me show you something.” Y/N extended her hand for him to take. “Where are you taking me?” the silver haired boy asked, his brows furrowed in confusion. “Shh, wait and see! It’s a secret place.” she giggled, before running even faster than before, which surprised the older boy who could barely keep up with her. “It’s a secret no more if you tell it.” he pointed out, as soon as they arrived at a lake. “I keep no secrets from my fiance.” she chuckled, before sitting down at the base of the willow, dipping her feet in the warm water. “I see.” he looked down at her, a tad uncomfortable and unsure, as he sat down next to her. “Do you want to know what makes this place so special?” she asked him, with a soft smile on her face. “Sure.” he replied, as more of a mutter. “This is a human tale, and it goes as follows - Every Twilight, the Lake of the Princess is graced by the presence of a maiden, the nymph of the lake, Limnades, more beautiful than any man has ever witnessed in his life, and she comes here to bathe, for the water is magical and it sparkles like diamonds, making her skin flawless and delicate, just like a flower. At midnight, she emerges from the water, as fairies come to robe her, and she walks upon the sheen of the mirror water, dancing in the moonlight, to the tune of a flute and the wind rustling and dancing with the falling leaves and cherry blossom petals. Some call her Sakura, while some say she is a Will’o’Wisp, and yet, nobody knows the truth.” she told him the story that has been passed down from generation to generation, only in her clan. “Are all mortal tales so absurd?” Sesshomaru scoffed at the girl’s story. “Yes, they are, but don’t you think they hold a grain of romanticism to it?” she chuckled at his apathetic reaction. “What is the real story behind it, then?” he faced the girl. “Well...It’s all much simpler, really. The truth is that the only magical thing about this place, is its beauty. The moonlight is so powerful here that, since the lake is surrounded by big trees, it looks like a silver mirror...And the fairies are just ordinary fireflies...We have plenty of those, thankfully.” she grinned at him in amusement, as he nodded in understanding. “And that maiden, nymph or whatever she is?” he asked, wanting to know the whole truth. “About that...” she giggled mischievously, before springing up and taking a leap towards the middle of the lake, which startled the boy...Only to see her floating. “How...?” he asked as he jumped to his feet, looking at her in wonder. “It’s one of our many tricks, Sesshomaru. This Lake is the place where the Princesses of the Fox clan bathe. We all have a love for fun, art and beauty, so of course we use our illusions to make everything as perfect as possible. We know a variety of dances, we all wear luxurious clothes, no matter our ranks or titles, and of course, we all know how to play at least one instrument. We have so many festivals, so we all have a lot of fun!” she explained, twirling around, letting her nine tails spread around in a fan of fire, just like her father did, greeting them. “So humans can’t differentiate between a Kitsune and a Naiad. Clearly, one cannot expect much from them.” calming down, he leaned back on the old tree, watching her with a certain sparkle of curiosity in his eyes. “That is not wrong...However, I find this naivite and innocence quite...Silly and amusing...If not, easily exploitable. Humans are creative and superstitious, therefore, we have all these silly stories, rituals and myths about ever little thing.” she said, getting back on the ground, sitting where she did just before. “You and I have very different views on these mortals, clearly.” he scoffed once again, looking away. “Mayhaps you just have too many emotions stored up inside your heart. Take some time from the world, focus on yourself, and relax. Look at the sky, appreciate the myriads of shades and colours it is painted with, and listen to the lullabies and hymns the nature is singing to you. Come on, Sessh. Sit down, breathe and enjoy life.” Y/N looked up at him with a sweet smile, as she held his hand and urged him to sit down next to her once again. “Does anyone in your clan take themselves seriously?” he gritted his teeth for a second, before sitting down next to the girl, only sparing her a glance with the corner of his eyes. “Only when necessary. Life is beautiful and it’s meant to be lived and enjoyed, and sometimes, it’s the little, insignificant details that matter - Those that are often overlooked...For example, were you born with your markings? I noticed you your father doesn’t have the same crescent moon on his forehead as you do...And your side lines are different in number and colours.” she asked, leaning on his side, putting her chin on his shoulder. “I was. All nobles have different markings...And the crescent moon is from my mother. You?” he felt himself warming up a bit to the girl, that he asked about her without even realising. “We aren’t born with them, they start appearing, only to girls, with years going. As you see, mine are still pale, but my mother’s are a brilliant shade of red. They reach that colour when we reach maturity, which is a sign we can marry. And...They are always different, depending on our personality. My mama is more gentle and soft...I’m more playful and mischievous.” she closed her eyes for a few seconds, before turning them on again. “That much is obvious.” the silver haired boy nodded, as if he already realised that long ago.
Giggling in amusement, she took out a leaf, and with a poof of smoke, Sesshomaru found himself with another version of himself leaning on his side, which made him look at the fox demon with an unphased look on his face.
“Fascinating power...If only you would not forget the leaf on your head.” he smirked, taking off the leaf from her head. “What?!” she gasped, which only made her turn back to herself, her green eyes widening like a little, surprised fawn. “It is rather weird seeing myself in front of me...It would be rather entertaining to see a successful trick like this, without forgetting the leaf. A very deadly weapon as well.” he informed, giving her the leaf back. “Is this how you do your tricks?” “Yes...I have a ton of leaves with me at all times...Ahh, I was sure I took out the leaf this time, how miserable!” she sighed, pouting, which earned a soft chuckle from the boy. “You are young, Y/N. Much younger than me still. There is enough time for you to stop forgetting that leaf...And to show me when you’ve perfected it.” he put his hand on her head, patting it. “Ehhh~? So that means you can’t wait to see me again! What a pleasant coincidence~!” she grinned teasingly, leaning o him. “Don’t push your luck.” he shot her a look of warning, but she obviously didn’t care.
Instead of replying, she got her hand inside of her kimono, taking out a flute and she began playing a magical melody that she learnt from her mother, that has been passed down through generations from her grandmother and so on, yet nobody knows who created it and how long has it been since someone was first taught it.
Sesshomaru closed his eyes, letting the back of his head rest on the bark of the Willow, allowing the song to create an atmosphere of complete bliss and serenity, and as the Sun set down, disappearing so that the Moon could take its place. The Moonlight was creating the illusion of diamonds floating, dazzling on the sheen of the mirror-like water, while the fire flies were flying around like small Will’o’Wisps dancing together in the gentle Spring breeze.
For the first time, so far, the silver haired Dog Demon princeling understood what it’s like to relax and take in the beauty of the moment, and for the next 500 years, he has been courting her, in his own way...Albeit not too often, for they were both very busy with their training and life in general, for they will be Lords, after all.
Unfortunately, this serendipity didn’t last too long for either of them, for Sesshomaru’s father went to another woman, a human that he loved and even had a child with...A half-demon...And in return, to keep them safe, Toga died, and with that, Kasai’s heart as well, for his best friend perished in vain.
As soon as Inu no Taisho died, Sesshomaru couldn’t be the Lord and reign with an iron fist, for he was still too young and inexperienced, despite the fighting he had done by his father’s side, which lead to a riot in both the Northern and the Western parts of Japan...
And Kasai died protecting his people.
From fear, Moeru ran away with her daughter, away from the mess, from the enemies, from the ill-will, from the bittersweet memories, from all the danger that wound cause her little Y/N any harm, so they took refuge to the Southern Lord, who gracefully welcomed them and offered his condolences.
It all went down in a flash, but her mother died from suffering so much over her husband’s death, leaving the poor girl all alone in this world, a young maiden out there, fighting to regain her birth right and take down the people who took away her lovely family from her, and killing them with no mercy or second thoughts, she managed to get the throne back, and now, she was the Lord of the Northern Japan and nobody dared go against her again.
She wasn’t sure how many centuries passed since she had a normal day, back when things were so much easier and when she could properly enjoy the beauty and art that her people had ingrained in their blood since the beginning of their making.
Nobody dared get on her territory without her consent, knowing they would get crushed by her and her blazing Fox Fire...
That is, until a silver haired boy with fluffy ears and a few companions come by, seeking shelter, and cause a commotion, as expected of them, and as they started fighting the intimidating guardians of the land, a luxurious woman with long hair, burning like the Twilight Sun, her long, nine tails spreading around her just like the flaming sky, her jade-like eyes piercing them like the harshest wind blade. Her face, despite the seductive, almost Geisha-like look, given by her pale skin and red markings, held a cold ruthlessness that seemed to drain the blood from the humans’ faces.
As soon as the half-demon took out his large sword and did a wind attack, the girl jumped on it, crouching down on the other end of the blade, her hands inside the opposite sleeves, looking at him with a taunting smirk.
“What’s your name, kid? What kind of animal demon are you? I have seen no half-demons in a very long while...Or, well, one that looks as cute as you, that is.” she giggled mysteriously, earning an angry growl from him. “What’s it to you, huh?! Why do you care about us?! They attacked us first!” he swung his blade again, only to get burnt by her fire, his sword kicked out of his hand, far away, and him, flat on his back, with her foot on his neck. “You are on my territory. My kingdom. Without permission. State your business and I will decide whether or not to forgive your intrusion...For your crew doesn’t seem to be harmful.” her voice became much darker and harsher, putting pressure on his neck. “We are sorry for the intrusion, miss! We are looking for shelter, we didn’t know this was your land. We are all human here, clueless about most of the demon business. My name is Kagome, this is Miroku, Sango...That is Inuyasha, and these are Shippo and Kirara.” the brunette girl in a weird attire spoke with feign confidence, making Y/N’s eyes widen slightly, leaving the half-demon and going to her, bending down slightly to get to her eye-level. “Kagome, Kagome...Who is behind you, bird in the cage? Yes, I always told him, humans are interesting indeed...And you look at that, you have a little Fox demon with you, how adorable...But you’re so tiny...Can you even transform, little one?” she asked the kid who stood with a shy expression on the brunet’s shoulder. “O-Of course I can! Look, I can be even you!” he tried to sound mature, transforming into the woman in front of him...Only for her to start laughing mirthfully. “Perfect transformation! ...Except for the leaf.” she grinned, picking the leaf from his head. “Ah...! Damn it, I was sure I took it off! I always forget to do take it away!” he whined in disbelief. “Don’t worry, little Shippo. When I was young like you, I used to forget the leaf all the time. Well... Stopped after meeting someone...But that doesn’t matter now.” she chuckled, letting the kid jump in her arms. “When you are so many centuries old, you tend to forget about the little mistakes you used to do when you were just a little snowdrop.” Y/N’s voice was so much calmer and gentler now, soothing like a mother’s lullaby to her child, and her voice seemed to ease everyone in the crew as well. “Tsk...Maybe you’re not such a bad chick. Since you asked, I am a Dog Demon. Why are you so interested in that?” he scoffed, still glaring at the woman as he got up on his feet. “You...Are a...Well, that explains it, you look so much like him...” she muttered, looking away into the horizon with a nostalgic smile. “Him? Someone who looks like InuYasha...?” Kagome’s eyes widened in realisation. “The only one who comes in mind would be...Sesshomaru...?” Sango questioned, unsure of herself. “I wouldn’t have expected humans to know someone like Sesshomaru. I haven’t seen him since before InuYasha was born and I was just a child. How long has it been...800 years ago maybe?” Y/N gave a satisfied, kitten-like smile, earning shocked gasps from everyone. “Well, we know him because he attacked InuYasha...But how do you know him for so long?” Kagome asked, blinking in curiosity. “Oh, well...I am his fiance.” she laughed, very amused at them falling to the ground in shock. “When we were both children, our fathers wanted us to marry, so from our marriage, the Northern and Western Japan would be united and peaceful. They wanted no more wars and disputes, so this was the perfect idea. They were best friends, so they had absolute faith in each other...” she explained, guiding them towards her castle. “Wait, so...What happened?” Shippo asked from her shoulder. “...Inuyasha was born.” she muttered, looking down for a few seconds, then back up ahead. “Huh?! What the hell do I have to do with that?!” he spit out in annoyance. “Your father died to protect you and your mother. Because of that, there was no more Lord in the West, so Sesshomaru had to do something about it, and with that, wars and riots started happening in the West, trying to overthrow my Clan...And my father died to protect us...Which means I haven’t seen him in over 200 years. I’m not blaming you, obviously, but I use some things as year bornes to remember things chronologically. Immortality can get confusing and tedious sometimes.” she laughed, a natural, mirthful laugh, just like her father used to, as she showed them inside the castle. “Woaw...So, that means you are the Leader of the West?” Kagome asked, very excited. “Yes, I suppose I am, and have been for quite a while. Took a while to take back my throne from those usurpers, but...None is alive to tell the tale of betrayal. Anyway, if you want to stay over, you will have to join me for a cup of tea and tell me the reason of your journey together and your personal stories. You are all incredibly different and unique...There must be something that brought you together.” she flashed them a mischievous smirk, before welcoming them inside.
They told the Kitsune about the destruction of the Shikon no Tama, which shocked her, until she found out about this Naraku who is creating chaos everywhere and destroying the peace and harmony of the world, that was already in shambles enough as if was.
Easily agreeing to help them with anything they needed, she made plans on how to aid them while also taking care of her kingdom, which was her priority, first and foremost.
She thought awhile on what the best course of action would be, and protecting the West from threats like Naraku was the best course of action, and thus, despite going on an aimless journey, she found a treasure that she would have never expected to stumble upon.
A little girl, brunet, wearing an orange kimono and walking barefoot, humming a cute little tune and picking berries, while a green gremlin, half her height, was nagging her with a greatly annoying voice that she paid no mind to.
Y/N leaned on a tree, watching the scene with a smile, realising that he was no harm to her - surprisingly, that is - Until their peace was destroyed by a numerous gang of large and fearsome demons ran towards them, growling, clearly wanting to mangle and eat them.
Tsk-ing in annoyance realising that the little demon was close to useless, despite the fire-breathing staff he had as a weapon, he was trembling even more than the frightened young girl, which lead Y/N to take action. With a speed that could barely be caught with the human eye, she made her claws elongate and easily slashed through the enemies without even the littlest effort.
When she was done with the group of thugs, Y/N stepped in front of the scared little girl, crouched down to her level, and pet her long brunette hair, giving her a gentle smile.
“Don’t worry, they are gone now.” she spoke in a soothing voice, making the girl quickly wipe the tears brimmed in her eyes, and returning a sweet smile. “Miss, you were amazing, you saved us! Thank you so much!” her voice was so adorable and filled with glee and gratitude. “I’m glad I was here when needed. What were you doing here? There is no human village around. You saw what happened just now, and that this gremlin here is rather useless, as you saw. Not to mention, staying around a demon is pretty dangerous in itself.” she giggled with a shady smirk, making the girl laugh as well. “Oh, but I’m not alone, and I’m not afraid of demons! Lord Sesshomaru saved me and took care of me! He always protects me, but now, he was away to investigate, so he let Jaken take care of me.” as soon as the girl mentioned that familiar name with such leisure, the Fox girl’s jaw dropped to the ground in shock, her green eyes widened as never before. “You...You said...Sesshomaru...? He’s here? Really?!” the woman jumped to her feet, as if electrified, which made the green gremlin shriek at her. “It’s LORD Sesshomaru for you, you filthy wench! How dare you address him with such disrespect?!” his voice was grating her brain so bad that she was barely stopping herself from kicking him into the horizon. “I will speak to him however I please. I gained that right long ago. About five centuries ago, in fact.” she spoke in a smug voice, crossing her arms, digging her claws into the material of her kimono, clearly waiting for the Dog Demon to return.
And return he did, and much faster then she expected, descending from the sky gracefully, his amber eyes holding the same harsh and cold gaze, as he hurried and examined the woman that seemed to hold no hostile will.
“Lord Sesshomaru, you’re back! This lady saved us from a bunch of ugly demons that tried to eat us!” the little girl ran to the man with a wide grin, which made the Fox Demon put her hand to her mouth, stifling a chuckle. “I see. I thank you for saving Rin’s life, despite being a demon yourself.” he walked in front of her, obviously trying to analyse her. “Lord Sesshomaru...Is that what they call you, even now? And what are you, Lord over nothingness? Wandering the world for two centuries in a journey to find yourself, while I had to fight with blood, fire and tears to regain my throne from the usurpers. If I didn’t know better, Sessh, I would say you have become rather...Lazy?” Y/N she gave him a mocking, seductive look, letting her nine tails spread around her, circling him and occasionally turning around. “I don’t quite appreciate the greeting you are giving me, Y/N.” he spoke in a deadpan voice, although she knew he was anything but annoyed as he wanted to be seen. “I did not quite appreciate you not coming to see me in the last two hundred years, you know? You weren’t there to see my markings turning red, either. And on many other occasions. And now...No hugs, no kisses, no affection? That is rather pitiful from you, my darling.” she chuckled, jabbing at him to see how far she could push him. “D-Darling?! Who do you think you are?! What gives you the RIGHT to speak like that to Lord Sesshomaru?! I will make you pay for your impudence!” Jaken ran to hit the woman with her staff, but using on of her tails, she tripped him, making Rin laugh at his misfortune. “She is Y/N, Lord of the Fox Demon clan, ruler of the West. She has earned the right to speak so freely with me.” the silver haired man informed the two, not taking his eyes away from her green eyes that enticed him as always. “You are forgetting another very important title~.” she stepped forward, leaning her elbow on his shoulder, reaching her other hand up to boop his nose. “...And my fiancee.” he grumbled, catching her wrist before she could do what she pleased. “WHAAAAAAAT?! L-Lord Sesshomaru...Why have you never told me you were married...?!” Jacked started crying rivers, while Rin was cheering, extra happy. “I did. Many years ago, when I was trying to escape the pressure of the Lord of the East to marry his daughter.” Sesshomaru spoke, barely bothering with his lackey. “Awww, so you thought of me, how adorable! I am flattered.” she chuckled, hooking her arm to the man, who didn’t seem to protest...Too much.
They started walking, looking for a place to camp for the night, Y/N putting the wood on fire for Rin to roast the food, so when the Twilight started creeping, she started looking around for a lake to bathe, and thankfully, she did. Discarding her outfit, she stepped in the cool water, shivering a bit at the temperature difference, before relaxing and taking out her flute to play.
She hasn’t played since the last night she saw him, and now that she has him close to her again, she can feel at ease playing again. Without even realising, she played the tune she played for Sesshomaru when they first met each other.
The lake wasn’t as beautiful as the one back home, but the moonlight was just as silver, the water was just as crystalline and the fireflies were glowing like little fairies...Just like home.
In the middle of her song, she heard the ruffling of bushes, which made her jump to her feet in full alert, her tails wrapping around her to hide her naked body. Easing her fears, glowing from the light of Mother Moon, Sesshomaru walked towards her, not sparing her a glance until he got to the water to his waist, approaching her, as she stepped back, looking away with a blush.
“Uhm...Sesshomaru, hello. What...Are you doing here?” she gave a nervous chuckle, pulling her tails closer to her body. “I came to bathe, just like you. Do you have anything against me being here?” he pushed her with his words, looking at her with that intimidating gaze of his. “No, of course not! You can bathe here too, obviously.” she flashed a quick, embarrassed smile that disappeared as fast as it came. “You are blushing. Are you...Flustered, by chance? Is my presence here making a Fox like you nervous, per chance?” he teased her, barely able to contain his smirk of amusement. “...A bit.” she muttered, taking another step back. “You act completely different from earlier. Not very Fox-like of you, is it?” he teased her, getting in front of her, lifting her chin up to look at him. “We are indecent...And you are my fiance. We haven’t...Seen each other before. You can’t blame me for feeling nervous.” she muttered, averting her gaze from his. “You worry too much.” Sesshomaru let out an amused breathe, before leaning in, brushing his lips to hers. “I missed you.” he ushered, as he kissed her softly.
It felt like the time stopped for the girl, she felt like lightning struck her and the energy was surging through her bloodstream, blushing even more as she melted into the kiss and let herself feel, kissing back with more passion and fire, resting her hands on his shoulder to bring him closer to her. Her tails seemed to have a will of their own, slowly uncoiling themselves from her body, and wrapping around his, staying glued together, skin to skin, feeling ablaze with every touch.
“How did you end up so far away from home?” he asked, brushing his fingers through her long, fire hair. “Your brother and his little group of friends found their way in my territory. They told me about this Naraku foe they must defeat, and the destroyed Jewel...And I I thought that if I killed him, he would be a threat to my people no more...Moreover, they mentioned seeing you a few times, so it was worth trying to find you...I missed you as well, dearly.” she sighed, looking down, resting her head on his chest, enjoying the warmth she was feeling from his embrace, after so long. “You don’t have to worry anymore, I’m not going to disappear again. They are right, Naraku is a threat...That we will eliminate. When this is all done, we will be able to fulfill our parents’ wishes. We will have peace, and...You will be the most beautiful bride.” his voice was soft, just as back then, many years ago, when he was courting her. “I will wear a pink kimono, not the boring white one. I have style, clearly...Although I’m not sure pink suits me too much, considering what an intense shade of red my hair is. There’s no contrast.” she smiled, purring softly as he started playing with her hair. “It suits you very much...Although I am curious why you always chose this particular colour...Even now, and back then, when I first laid my eyes upon you and your shyness was just as it is now.” he asked, planting a kiss on her forehead. “Because it has always been my mum’s favourite colour since she was little...And she also married in a pink kimono. I guess I felt connected with this, just like I was with her.” she grinned nostalgically, which in turn, earned a soft smile from him as well. “I see. Then we will do as you wish.” he nodded, putting his hand or the back of her head, pulling her closer to him. “Sessh...?” Y/N looked up at him, her eyes glossy and warm, like that of a fawn. “Yes, Y/N?” he muttered, looking down at her. “I love you.” her voice was so soft and gentle, yet filled with so many emotions. “I love you as well, Y/N.” after a brief silence, Sesshomaru answered, ignoring the wall of coldness and properness that he instilled in himself. “Let’s defeat this Naraku and go home.” she leaned her head back on his chest, looking as relaxed and content, just like back then, when they first visited the lake. “That, we will. I promise.”
