BlogTember Day 8: “Nothing Bad Happens”!

Welcome to the Everything’s Alright AU, where Inari has their parents and their babies and…. Yeah! That’s it. It’s the good feels AU, where Mochi (pictured, smol) and his sister (not pictured, lorg) are Mew, and Inari’s trainer—[REDACTED]—and nothing bad ever happens!

Inari asked the question timidly, slowly breaking away from the death grip she’d had on her father. The Sylveon looked thoughtful before answering.

“When I met her,” Takeo began, “she’d been disguised as an Umbreon.”

“We kept running into each other while hunting. She was far better a hunter than me, I’ll say that!” Takeo chuckled fondly. “One day, I told her I loved her. That she was fire and ice and everything good in the world. And she said she felt the same.”

“She seemed so nervous. I’d thought maybe it was because it was her first litter, but… Looking back on it, I’m not sure.” The Sylveon’s gaze dropped to the ground for a moment before he continued. “I just tried to reassure her, all the way up through the egg laying.

“After that, well, I was extremely distracted by fatherhood. This was my first clutch too. I was so excited, I nearly keeled over when the egg started cracking.

Takeo trailed off, eyes misty.

Ambi, despite looking more like a Keeling, is actually very Eevee-leaning. She's very bity and loves to swim! Her kelp 'hair' is very unique thanks to Takeo's hair. She's very friendly, and will show her love by... well, biting you. But lovingly. All she does is bite!

Rune is far more Keeling-leaning compared to his sister, though he's not a fan of swimming-it messes up his perfectly nice fluffy tail. He's constantly cleaning it and straightening it, making it look nice, fluffy, and soft. He would definitely ADORE being a Contest Pokemon.

You can take these two little water puppos if you so please! Being Eevee hybrids, they'd likely end up going with Fairy, Dark, or Time as their Eeveelution. If you intend to evolve them, hit me up and I'll send the Keeling evolution, as well as the Time Eeveelution!

Were there any other Pokemon in Seekers that had a different species before the story itself was written? I think Fen was originally a Sylveon, Junie was originally a Murkrow and August was a Emboar. Is there any Pokemon in this current arc that had a different species such as Calder maybe since Seekers was thought of before Sword and Shield were or any other character?

A lot of the characters in the current arc had their roles decided a while ago, but not their species. But Calder was originally a bisharp instead of an inteleon, and Takeo was originally an ariados instead of a spidops!

Latest Art Fight Ref is Takeo!

Takeo has seen play at two major ages through a combination of RP and OCTs. He’s a master strategist in battle and generally friendly and sweet… though also stubborn and insistent on going his own way about things. Due to an incident in early childhood, Takeo ended up sharing his body with Xerneas - something he wasn’t aware of until he neared his teens. Xerneas is normally dormant, but does provide Takeo with heightened healing (and in fact he can’t be killed by normal means) as well as being capable of taking control if it perceives Takeo to be in mortal danger. It’s easy to spot - Takeo’s eyes change to Xerneas’, and his shadow will have Xerneas’ antlers.

Pokemon On Hand (Age 12)

Pai (Jigglypuff ♀; Brave Nature): As an Egg, she was a gift from Takeo’s older brother Hideki. A powerful battler, she is aggressive and a bit of a sore loser… but tries hard to only show Takeo her sweet side. Eri (Elegant Vivillon ♀; Calm Nature): Raised alongside Takeo, she’s his oldest partner and a surprise powerhouse who works hard to keep her trainer on track. Azami (Vulpix ♂; Mild Nature): He joined the team after Takeo rescued him from a nettle patch. Clever and even-tempered, he is the team’s caretaker. Chuuko (Nidoran ♀; Bashful Nature): Extremely shy, Chuuko tends to be clingy with both Takeo and Azami… but she’s a loyal team member and always seems to find her courage when Takeo needs her.

Pokemon On Hand (Age 20)

Pai (Wigglytuff ♀; Brave Nature): Time hasn’t tempered Pai’s aggressive, battle-happy nature… but she’s less of a sore loser these days, and a steady partner for Takeo. Eri (Elegant Vivillon ♀; Calm Nature): Sensible as ever, Eri serves as Takeo’s eyes in the sky on Ranger missions… and is still ready to show her strength if necessary. Azami (Ninetales ♂; Mild Nature): Still remarkably gentle and even-tempered for his species, Azami often serves as Takeo’s sense of direction and takes it upon himself to parent the rest of the team - Takeo himself included. Chuuko (Nidorina ♀; Bashful Nature): A bit more out of her shell after years of travel and training, Chuuko has emerged as the most skilled tracker on the team - invaluable to Takeo’s Ranger work. She has declined to fully evolve, as it would make her too large to carry - but Takeo has a Moonstone on hand just in case. Tanpopo (Leafeon ♂; Naive Nature): Another gift from Hideki, Tanpopo is the younger brother of Hideki’s Sylveon. Sweet and gullible, he’s the baby of the team even more than Chuuko. Shimi (Togekiss ♀; Bold Nature): Hatched from an Egg received from Professor Elm, Shimi is Takeo’s favored riding Pokemon… and a mischievous, inquisitive Pokemon who can’t help sticking her feathers into anything and everything.

So extremely specific question which character do you think would evolve their male eevee into Sylveon in part due to the fact that someone said that they shouldn’t because sylveon is too girly of a Pokémon for it to evolve into? Also is it Naoki cause i kinda get that vibe from them...

But yeah, Naoki definitely would. Haruto and Miko too. Takeo also since he just likes the colour scheme.

Franchouchou’s Pokemon

Thanks to @necroducer-kotaro​‘s post about Kotaro being bad at giving names to his Pokemon, I couldn’t help but think of what each member of Franchouchou’s Pokemon companion would be. The following is what I settled on for the ones they had in life and the ones Kotaro got them for their afterlives.

Kotaro: Yamper- This is Romero, who he still resurrected who he received from Xu Fu. He will tell anyone that asks about the stitches and the fact that he’s a different color that Romero is part Ghost Type.

Tae: Life~Unknown. Marshadow- Marshadow was a great help when Tae had been running the Sagako Busters. Afterlife~Marshadow- Marshadow just emerged from Tae’s shadow one day and Kotaro decided to just roll with it.

Lily: Life~Jigglypuff- Takeo and his Granbull have been looking after her. Takeo later recorded the Drive-In Tori commercial for her, since it makes her perk up to see it and al three of them go to Franchouchou’s concerts together. Whenever Franchouchou does a fan event and/or a general meet and greet, she tends to hang around Lily until it’s time to leave. Afterlife~Cleffa- Kotaro didn’t think Lily would much appreciate if he gave her a Jigglypuff that didn’t know her, so he grabbed the next Fairy Type that came to mind. Gets along well with Jigglypuff.

Yugiri: Life~Kirlia- Was originally a Ralts, but she evolved early on while with Yugiri, who absolutely doted upon her. Afterlife~Gardevoir- The Bartender had been looking after her and that is all Kotaro knows. Since he seems to be keeping quiet about the Bartender, he never says how he obtained her. Xu Fu gave her back, personally, and Yugiri is just happy to have her back.

Junko: Life~Vulpix (Ice Type)- It just seems right, somehow. She traveled everywhere with Junko. Afterlife~ She traveled everywhere with Junko. Exceedingly fine white thread was used to put her back together, so she just looks like she’s got messy fur.

Ai: Life~Pikachu- I really don’t know why Pikachu makes so much sense to me. I swear, this is not a lightning joke. That said, her Pikachu was made the mascot of Iron Frill in her honor. ADDITIONAL NOTE: Pikachu has grown attached to Shiori, but does recognize Ai. Ai had a nonverbal farewell with the Pikachu following her turning down Shiori’s offer Afterlife~Mimikyu- This just feels right. Mimikyu rides around on Ai’s shoulder like Pikachu does for Ash. ADDITIONAL NOTE: Mimikyu was just as worried about being abandoned as Junko when Shiori had made the offer and Junko’s Vulpix did what she could to make her feel better.

Saki: Life~Torchic- She and Reiko each had one. Reiko’s is now a Combusken, but Saki’s is still a Torchic and effectively adopted Maria as a new trainer. Afterlife~Charmander- Kotaro wasn’t sure how she’d react to getting a new Torchic to replace her original, so he just got her a different Fire Type Pokemon that he figured she’d get along with.

Sakura: Life~Eevee- Her Eevee never evolved and wound up running off after her death, surviving reasonably well in the wild for years. Afterlife~Eevee- Eight years later, in a rainstorm one night, she still recognized Sakura, even if Sakura didn’t remember her and was a zombie, so she followed her home and stayed with her. Evolved into Sylveon after Arpino. Wears a bow around her neck that matches Sakura’s.

Inari’s heart dropped. This had to be a mistake. They didn’t know this Pokémon at all.

Tears burned their eyes. Their chest ached. Somehow this was worse than not knowing at all. It felt like a failure, like all their feelings weren’t enough. They slumped, tugging off their hat and bitting their lip before they spoke.

“I’m sorry,” Inari said, voice thick with tears. “I though you were one of my parents, I… I’m sorry, I—”

But the Sylveon spirit interrupted, eyes wide with realization. “Oh! Are you—oh, you must be!”

His face split into a big smile, confusing Inari enough to stop their tears for the moment.

“By chance,” the Sylveon asked hopefully, “Is your mother named Megami?”

“She…” Inari swallowed dryly, trying to calm their heart. “Yes. Her name is Megami.”

The Sylveon gasped in joy, his tail wagging a mile a minute. “Then you must be from my clutch with her! One of our babies! I’m afraid we barely got to meet before…”

The Sylveon suddenly became somber, his tail falling flat.

“Right, let me start from the beginning,” he began. “I’m Takeo. Me and a Mew named Megami... we had two little Mew kits together.”

“Two…?” Inari asked, afraid to hear the answer.

“Yeah.” Takeo sat down, smiling somewhat sadly. “And I think maybe... Maybe you're one of our kits? We named them Eloci and Inaris. Are either of those familiar, maybe?”

Inari’s chest clenched tight once more, tears running hot down their face like tiny lava trails. They took a shaky step forward, then another. Then half walked and half stumbled into the Sylveon, squeezing him tightly.

Smelled familiar. He smelled like home.

Inari immediately broke down.

”I’m Inaris,” they sobbed. “That’s me, I’m Inaris. And you… you’re my… D-D….”

Inari couldn’t get out any more words, too emotional to form the proper syllables.

Takeo held his child close, unsure of how to help.
