while i am procrastinating an actual wip / cast intro, i will give a slight one here with a handful of characters from 'and the moon sets' who live in my head rent free

yui nakamura -- seventeen at the beginning ; talk shit get hit ; ice magic ; runs her family's restaurant and cares for her younger siblings and her parents die ; i dare you to talk shit to her or her siblings ; strong physically and mentally but also she needs a break; love of my life ???

kaiyou nakamura -- thirteen at the beginning; current pov character??? ; baby boy ; healing magic ; gets taken away to be a poison tester for a warlord with a terrifying reputation, lord takeda ; too kind for his own good ; crybaby ; strong ; friends and family call him 'kai'

akasuki nakamura -- eight at the beginning; empathy magic ; cute little dilute calico kitty familiar named ume ; absolute sweetheart ; so shy and sweet and blushy i adore her ; too soft for her own good, taking after kaiyou in that aspect ; i want to hug her, she's such a good kid ; family and close friends call her 'suki'

momoko nakamura -- five at the beginning; empathy magic ; frog familiar named haru; agent of chaos; mud and sticks and tricks and all sorts of fun!! ; she's sick ; i give her such a hard life she does NOT deserve this she needs a hug ; acts happy and chaotic for the sake of others, secretly cries a lot ; loves to yell and be loud ; family and friends call her 'momo'

kaede nakamura -- an infant at the beginning; literally this face >:3 ; i love them so much, they're smart, she keeps her magic a secret the entire time until the end, they even keep their familiar (a crunchy old kitsune named tsubasa) a secret it's so funny

ichigo -- the nakamura kids' dad's familiar, an old wolf. though their dad is dead, he still guards the family, as old and worn and scarred as he is.

takashi sato -- eighteen at beginning ; kinetic / fire magic ; eyes the color of the setting sun and hair dark, dark red that seems black until the light hits it ; a soldier with a promising future ; calm, kind, caring ; warm smile

hanzo arashi -- age unknown ; dragonborne, electric and storm dragon magic ; eyes yellow as electricity and always burning, scars like lightning spread across his skin, sharpened teeth glinting white ; a fighter with no loyalties except to one

neoma takeda -- fourteen at beginning ; [redacted] magics ; warhorse familiar named souta ; the young lord of the takeda clan, brought in as her grandfather is dying as a last resort to save the clan ; seemingly very intelligent and knows a lot about battle plans ; loves bright colors and she always seems to be smiling, she always finds something to compliment in others...

(Part 2) The character that started it all...

...For me anyways!

Hello there! This will be a short one so that I don’t make people too intimidaded by my huge essays, but anyways...

Here’s the character that got me serious into actually drawing stuff, in other words, she inspired me to draw fan art of her through doodle and stuff. 

Her name is Shizuka Tsuruki, the protagonist of the spin-off manga of the cute girls doing military things, Girls Und Panzer, in this case, Ribbon Warrior or Ribbon no Musha. She is the commander of a small Japanese light tank called the Type-97 (?) Te-Ke. She’s a duo with Rin Matsukaze which forms the Centipede Team, which is a pretty cool name, I’m not gonna lie.

Her personality is that of a very elegant, refined girl yet very eccentric when it comes to her hobbies and interests, she is into the samurai culture, notably the the Takeda Clan, as she was born into a family that has ties with them. 

Her other side of her personality is that she loves the thrill of battle, which she also has the morality and adopted the samurai warrior code into her personality. She can also be pretty savage with her words and even in battle, where Rin, her partner, and herself humiliated Alisa, who was her first opponent in tankathlon; a kind of senshadou(tank kung fu essentially) but it is anything goes but the tanks has to be WW2 and before and 8 tons and below, despite losing their first match due to the tracks giving out after defeating two out of three tanks by themselves.

She has a rather interesting design, particularly her bow and and her hair. She has those cold eyes yet very beautiful, which fits her character. She also has the colour theme involving red and black, which were the signature colours of the Takeda Clan.

What do I think of her as a character?

Big bruh moment for me, she was one of the most impactful characters of my life. Especially the savagery she inflicts upon her opponents, even if she doesn’t win, as long as she gets a good fight. 

PS she actually wore samurai armour over her high school uniform in her debut match, and brought a freaking bow just to annoy these two tank commanders in M22 Locusts and managed to take them out before going after Alisa.

Plot:

A few years passed since Yamaguchi left Shirokin Gakuen which closed after some time. Everything has been difficult for Yankumi the following years for her new students are little kids that doesn't suit her way of teaching. Change is on the horizon when a bad hair day came but with a little twist became okay. Mr. Sawatari Goro, Shirokin's vice Principal is in need of teacher in the school he is teaching. But not just ordinary teacher... he specifically need Yankumi! The school is Kurogin Gakuen. When she arrived in the school she was really happy till she knew that she is to handle another bunch of 3-D but this time meaner and more violent! As usual, she has to hide her background or else she'll lose her job. She does her best to be nice to every student but it seemed that it'll be harder for the students are worst than the word worst. How will she face them? Is it a new challenge? (MDL)

Gokusen 2 is really amazing! I love it so much that I don't know how many times I rewatched it. There are a lot of fight scenes. Everytime I watch the fight scenesm, it made me laugh. When Yankumi throws her glasses and take off his ponytails, you know she will be in a fight. That is one of her signature move.

The five main students of class 3-D, Odagiri, Yabuki, Tsuchiya, Hyuuga, and Takeda are really great. They may not be included in the manga, but the characters are almost the same in the first series. For example, Odagiri is like Shin in the first series. I also think he's in love with Yankumi just like Shin. Yabuki is like a mix of Tetsu and Shin, and Takeda is like Noda.

I like that Gokusen 2 have scenes related to the manga. Here are some examples: (1) When Yabuki challenged Yankumi in one on one. - Volume 1 Chapter 5 (2) The annoying cop, who keeps on blaming the 3-D. He is annoying both in manga, and live action. (3) When Odagiri and Yabuki went to Yankumi's house. Yankumi pretended that her family is a family of theater, but of course they did not believe it. - Volume 3 Chapter 24 (4) Baba-sensei is one of the teacher mentioned in the manga. (5) The English teacher, Shiratori fell in love with one of the Odeo Family. However, in the manga her name is Shizuka (which is from the first series) and instead of Tetsu she fell in love with Oshima Kyotaro which is not mentioned in any live action series. (6) Odagiri stayed in Yankumi's house just like when Shin did in the manga. Also, his dad went to Yankumi's house. - Volume 6 Chapter 50-60. (7) The school has a plan to be co-ed. - Volume 9 Chapter 84 (8) When Odagiri and Yabuki were framed in stealing jewelries. (9) Kudo is finally introduce as he also important character in the manga. I don't particularly like Kudo in the manga, but I like it when Yankumi taken him in the Oedo Family's house. (10) When Yabuki got involved with yakuza to saved Kuma. However, it's different in the manga. Anyway, in the live action this is the first time we saw Yankumi's grandfather show his connection or how powerful he is as the leader of Oedo Family.

I like that the Gokusen 2 continue Kuma's life after graduating high school. This was not included in the manga which is a great addition to the live action series. Also, the relationship/arguement between Yankumi and Head teacher Sawatari.

I recommend you to watch the Gokusen series, if you haven't. Obviously, because of the plot, Yankumi, the 3-D class students, and the life lessons.

No... After Shizuka I didn't meet anyone else. But are you sure they want to harm me? They might want to bring the Oda and the Uesugi Takeda down, given how they are trying to take every member down.. But then again... I feel I'm overthinking it. I mean it's inevitable for my friend to stab herself with the needle when she's bad at it and in Mitsunari's case it's indigestion. I don't know what happened to Yuki yet. I feel these are coincides

for shizuka, what was the scariest moment you’ve had in public?

oh they hate this one. ll accepting.

“Fu,” they sigh, swirling the drink in their glass. It’s a fair question, but that makes it no less difficult. How do you define fear when your entire livelihood is built approaching the worst society had to offer? Not on the extreme path, but not quite a civilian, they walked a middle point that suited them perfectly. Work had never made them afraid, no matter how close they stood to the accused.

But then, they always controlled those negotiations. Perking up, the managed to call to mind another incident from long before they made their bones.

“Have you seen those vans that go around with the loudspeakers? Those political idiots that think if they shout propaganda loud enough, they can make people believe it? There’s these bottom-feeders who imitate that model, but with a catch. They park in front of a business and start blaring a bunch of bullshit to try and drive people away. You’re supposed to pay them to leave.” Taking a sip of their drink, they set their brows. When they spoke, it was through a certain level of anger.

“We had some of them park outside of work a few years ago, trying to smear Takeda-san’s name. Whatever you might hear about him, Takeda-san’s a good man, and he’s been defending honorable men for a long time now. He deserves a little respect, you know? Not just because he’s my boss, either. He’s a good man who shouldn’t have to put up with this in front of the firm he built with his own two hands.” Slamming their glass down theatrically, though without the force necessary to put the glassware at risk, they straightened. “So everyone in the office gathers up to the window and start hemming and hawing about what to do.” 

They cast a dark-eyed glance towards the host, smiling subtly. “I hope, Kiryu-san, that after our time together… You’ve realized I’m a person of action. I do things, just like I did something then.” A pause for dramatic effect, and they laced their fingers together. “I picked up our secretary’s umbrella and went out to bust some windows. Takeda-san was almost impressed when they sped off down the street! But I made one mistake.”

Shutting their eyes, they sighed.

“I didn’t take into account the kind of men who run a racketeering scheme like that.” Drumming their fingers against the back of their hands, they thinned their lips. “So when we all got ready to leave for the night, there’s these two men waiting across the street for me. I might not be native to this city, but I’d been here long enough to know what that meant. Everyone’s just going about their lives, including the two men who start tailing me once I’m off the clock. Then there’s me, the cause of all of this, knowing something bad is about to go down.” 

“So the first hailed cab I see, I just dive in. Shared a ride with the sweetest obaa-san who was going in the complete opposite direction, covered her fare as thanks. Takeda-san drove me home from work the rest of the week.”

Lolling their head against the back of the booth, Shizuka managed a mirthless chuckle. “At the end of the month, I represented one of them in an assault case. Got him cleared of all charges. I guess after that, we were even. The men stopped coming around at closing after that.” Looking back to the ceiling, they added, “But it’s a hell of a thing, reading about all the little details of what someone would have done to you.”

The YOI/HQ Crossover that no one asked for, but I’m giving my hcs on anyway

Okay! So this isn't a crossover like HQ boys now do figure skating or YOI does volleyball and more about how the two sports universes overlap, so yeah! Here we go!

I remember seeing this tumblr post comparing how Takeda and Yuuri looked and now, I hc them as related and I like to think that they're cousins. Both of them definitely came out to each other and were like, "Wait. You're the gay cousin? But I thought I was the gay cousin? We're both the gay cousin?" and both of them are definitely oblivious gay disasters and I love them. Like with volleyball, Takeda may not have known much about figure skating to begin with, but he poured his all into learning about it, so he could try to understand and cheer on and help Yuuri whenever he could. There's no doubt in my mind that he probably stays up late or wakes up super early to watch Yuuri compete too and when Takeda tells Yuuri about volleyball, Yuuri does his best to show his cousin support as well.

Also, with how similar they look, I wouldn't be surprised if someone got them mixed up or if someone saw Takeda while out and about and thought it was Yuuri and then Takeda was too awkward to correct them.

A tall excited Russian man with silver hair: Am I referring to Lev or Victor? Answer: Both!

I hc Victor as Lev's uncle, so Alisa is also Victor's niece. Victor is dedicated to figure skating, but when he finds out Lev is into volleyball, he 100% goes to as many matches as he can and during all of them, he's like the loud soccer mom that's way too enthusiastic about their kid, but since Victor is still learning Japanese, he ends up cheering and yelling in Russian instead because he's too excited to figure out which language he's speaking. Lev is super happy and excited to see his uncle there and he absolutely introduces everyone on the team to his super cool uncle after the match, but before then, the team, of course, sees the family resemblance and asks Lev what the hell his Uncle Victor is saying. But as mentioned, Lev doesn't know any Russian, so he's just as lost as the rest of the team is, but he knows that Victor is pouring his heart and soul into cheering and that's all that matters. Luckily, Victor invites Yuuri along with him, and while he's still learning Russian as well, he's picked up enough Russian to understand cheering, so while Victor is yelling in Russian, Yuuri is shyly yelling translations since Victor mentioned Lev grew up in Japan and doesn't know Russian. Later on, Lev comes to absolutely adore, not only his Uncle Victor, but his Uncle Yuuri as well.

I don't actually have anything concrete with Ushijima and Otabek, but all I remember is that I was thinking about how nice it would be for them to be homies and here I am now!

The thought of Ushijima and Otabek being homies is so good and pure. Like both are stoic and quiet, but they're also both passionate and highly supportive of their friends, and their friendship would be so good!! I don't have a definitive answer as to how they meet, but it's possible that since skaters do travel all over for a number of reasons, such as seeking out choreographers or better help on technical aspects, they could meet up in Japan since Sendai is known as the origin of figure skating in Japan due to the fact that both Arakawa Shizuka and Hanyu Yuzuru trained there. So maybe they randomly run into each other one day and become homies. Maybe they happen to meet while working out. I don't know.

But anyway, that's not as important right now! What's important is friendship! These two definitely have a silent and supportive understanding of each other. Both of them may not fully understand or have the time to fully research and learn about the other's respective sport, but they both support each other's passion and dedication. Should either have time, they definitely go to each other's events and silently cheer from the back. They may not speak all that much in person, but they definitely text each other a lot, sharing pictures of animals and plants, and updating each other on their daily lives, even if it sounds mundane to most people. It's also definitely a huge shock to the rest of Shiratorizawa when Ushijima drops the fact that not only is he going to be busy on a weekend and that he has a friend he's meeting up with, but he's also going to a club too. Since Otabek DJs in his spare time, I can see him having a standing offer for Ushijima to join him and see him perform. It's not Ushijima's favorite scene, but he goes a few times to support his friend. During the off season, Ushijima also tries to goes to any of the shows that Otabek is performing in as well. Ushijima can't afford to stay up late or wake up super early to watch Otabek skate, but he does check on the scores and watch the recordings afterwards before giving his input.

Since he's in Kazakhstan, it's hard for Otabek to come and support Ushijima during volleyball matches since it all depends on if he's in Japan at the time or not. He does always check in with Ushijima whenever he has a match and always after to see how things are going. Since he's also so far away, Otabek does try to pick up some things about volleyball as well, so he can actually talk about matches with Ushijima too.

Fujiwara-Shi History (Part 1)

It begins when Emperor Gentoku's two sons, Kuroda and Mahito was born as twins. A rare occurrence in the Hinganshi line. 

It was further complicated by the fact that Kuroda retains his mother's Raen lineage, the Noble Mikoto clan whose first patriarch Mikoto no Seigen was said to be the seventh son of Shiro-No-Kami known to Xaela as Azim. 

Prince Kuroda was a famous advocate of the movement to reclaim the lands of Raen lost to the Xaela centuries ago. Proud of his lineage and seeking to rebuild the Raen's lost glory.

Alas, his dream remains unfulfilled. When crown prince Mahito ascends the throne of Hinganshi as Emperor Tenji, he did a very rare thing. He tried to increase his brother's power because he believes that only when the two of them work together that the encroaching clans of Hinganshi can be controlled.

Five generations later, after the war of the eastern emperor and western empress, to avoid such tragedy to happen and under the reasoning of avoiding further dispute, descendant of Prince Kuroda, Ame Hondakaraikashi Hitarashi no Hitsugi also known as Prince Takara, was ordered to start his own imperial house branch which will later be known as Fujiwara-Shi

The first patriarch of the Fujiwara, Fujiwara no Takara no Kami, was concerned that many people might want to eliminate him as his faction was quite influential in the court.

Thus, he led his family to the western chain islands of Ryuukyu. Takara, whose origin is half Raen, took a princess from the Violet Tide palace as his Okugata. His many retainers and family members would then settle in the chain of Ryuukyu, The main seat is the island of Ryuusen, with the other inhabited islands of Sosui, Suiryuu, Kaze, and Honshu.

As a dowry, Shizuka-Hime brought with her the purple pearl of the violet tide. 

When it was enshrined on the ancestral Jinja upon Ryuusen, the power of the pearl manifested in the perpetual fog that surrounds the islands from invaders. Only select few can travel into their docks because it is riddled with treacherous reef and there's a deep trench called "the dragon's ridge". Traveler can only get into the docks guided by strings of light-tower known as "the dragon's eyes". 

For centuries, the Fujiwara maintain a cordial relationship with the mainland. They are entrusted as the defender of the western island chains of Hinganshi and would repel foreign invasions along with cleansing of the pirates. 

Under their watch, the nation's western border is kept safe. Throughout political marriages and maintaining a strong naval presence, they manage to secure a foothold even if they are not too involved in the matter of the Hingan court.

The 13th Daimyo of the Fujiwara, Fujiwara no Hideyoshi, was engaged with the daughter of Southern Awajima Takeda clan, Takeda no Tomoe. From this union, six children were born. Hidemitsu, Masayuki, Miyuki, Hideyuki, Mitsuki, and Shizuka. 

Hidemitsu and Masayuki are very close to each other, while Hideyuki is viewed with complicated look due to the circumstance of his birth.

Four years ago, after returning from a pirate hunting expedition, Hidemitsu and Masayuki's ship was hit by a very powerful storm. Both are missing and presumed dead, an urgent missive comes to Eorzea, to summon the only surviving son of Hideyoshi. 

Upon his arrival in Ryuukyu, Hideyuki was named the 14th Daimyo as his father decides to abdicate. The Mitsurugi Bakufu feels that Hideyoshi is too young to abdicate yet they let him do it nevertheless.

Thus begin the reign of the 14th Daimyo of The Fujiwara....(To Be Continued)

III THE EMPRESS: YUMI KITAGAWA

CODENAME: FOX

PERSONA: SHIZUKA GOZEN

I debated whether to change Fox’s arcana from Emperor to Empress. It would’ve been easy to just “flip” it without really putting much thought into it, but the Empress is associated with creativity and protection, which is a much better fit than the Emperor’s authority and control -- Yusuke could’ve probably had that arcana in the original material.

Finding an appropriate Persona was hard. Tomoe Gozen was already taken, as was Suzuka Gongen. Mochizuki Chiyome was a good analogue to Goemon’s ninja skills, but her loyalty to Takeda Shingen clashed with the rebel theme. I eventually went with Shizuka Gozen, a court dancer in feudal Japan who brought rain after 100 monks and 99 other dancers failed to do so. She also married Yoshitsune.
