It may be a silly fan theory, but the whole "Takakura and the farmer's father were romantically involved" theory really brings me joy.

Seeing him blush when your kid calls him Grandpa, and the townsfolk call him a part of your family at the firework festival and how he narrates the game of the farmer's life talking to him is so heart warming.

He may be a dumb tutorial NPC to most but that is Grandpa Takakura to me and I love him.

whenever an awl walkthrough refers to takakura as just a farm hand, i get so sad bc he's so much more than that. sure, he seems kinda distant at first, but you can tell he cares about your wellbeing a lot and wants to see you succeed in your goal of being a farmer, ( so much so that he got you a freaking cow as a welcome gift. )

like he's a lifeline when you're grieving the loss of your father, your mentor as a farmer, even a surrogate father when you become closer, and eventually a surrogate grandfather to your child... he's so much more than a farm hand, he's family....

the ghost town trope would fit well with forget me not valley not gonna lie. as a kid playing the original a wonderful life I always felt a little creeped out wandering the valley early in the morning with no soul in sight. especially when you got closer to the path to the city you‘d only hear the ambient sounds of the wind which freaked me out a little. forget me not valley felt so lonely and isolating at times which I kinda miss in the remake. the valley actually being abandoned and well more forgotten than it already is would genuinely creep me out.

Oh wow, you unlocked a memory! I had forgotten about that wind sound, but you are 100% right that it is creepy to some degree. Forget-Me-Not Valley would be the perfect place for a ghost town. The rename of Forgotten Valley just makes it better for being a place unknown and with spooky stuff ready to happen.

I was really close to doing a short mock-up of AWL characters in Cabin in the Woods, but now I want to do something more like Blaire Witch with the creepy small town and scary woods.

Sometimes I think about how the plot of A(nother) Wonderful Life is, quite literally, “marry the first person of the opposite sex willing to drop everything and raise your child all because some asshole demands you do it or you don’t get to keep the property that technically YOU inherited and he had 20-30 years to make functional but refused to do so. Oh yeah, and make friends with the various people who kinda act like they’re trapped here even when they want to leave.”

…and I just. Kinda laugh in aspec terror yet again.
