One of my favorite City Pop songs. Really brings me back to a time from before I was born.

One of my favorite songs in general. Definitely top 30, which says a lot.

The whole album is amazing to be fair.

Really, this is just me saying I like this kind of music.

Chinese Restaurant has that extra spice though.

This song is the essence of City Pop, baybee!

Started a Creative Writing course today, started with the plot module. Today was also the first properly sunny day in weeks. I also had to record an interview for a job application which makes me incredibly nervous, btw I still look for jobs inside my major due to ✨money issues✨ and also because it's easier to get hired that way but still apply for jobs in the publishing industry and test my luck in there

masayoshi takanaka's entire discog is really emblematic of the genre but his album all of me (1979) is a really good intro

city pop is a pretty loose genre so there's a lot of different subgenres, in particular there's a lot of overlap between city pop and japanese funk, r&b, and jazz fusion and it all kind of blends into one another. these are my personal faves though!
