My residency @flatbedpress is underway! I have some goals of course—mostly to finish the work I started in Italy this past September 😎—but I also want to see where the work in printmaking takes me ✨ I’m a painter forever, but I can’t ignore the call of paper, and how excited I am to be working on a press again (something I did in art school but then took a 20 year break). 2023 is looking like my year of possibilities, which I fully intend to embrace 💝 these slides: 1. Me with my Flatbed apron 🤓 2. The teal #takachpress that is about to become my new best friend 3. My spot in the flat files right next to @samanthamelvinart 💓 4. Edward posing on one of the French presses (I promise it was only for this photo Katharine! 😇) 5. The Flatbed sign over their letterpress setup (if only I had more hours in the day! I want to work with EVERYTHING!!) I’ll be working here in the evenings mostly for the next 5 months, and in my painting studio @springdalegeneral in the daytime. I modeled a @takachpress on rhino and decided to give it a try printing it. Plus I wanted to print something that wasn’t an egg! It turned out way better than I expected! It’s got plenty of flaws but I’m happy I’m getting the hang of 3D printing.
