Another English feature by Taiwan Beats to accompany the 2 songs 大象體操 Elephant Gym did for YuChen Studio / Cinema Sessions.

I think we posted both songs back in springtime of this year.  This English translation was posted just a coupla weeks ago, and the video interview was posted in mid-May. Watch that at YouTube.

Some of the discussion was about recording the song Half. They’d tried it with the electronic keyboard the way they would play it in concert, but sound engineer Andy Baker suggested they do it with the real piano instead, which necessitated moving the drum kit as well. 

I think it was a great choice to record with the acoustic piano:

This is the Taiwanese Waves live stream event warned you about a while ago. There is a full lineup of music starting soon, and the TW bands will each play 2 songs, starting at 10pm Eastern time.

Showcase schedule - all times US-Eastern (I don't know how they are going to distribute the time, things seem to be scheduled to go off at the same time)

By the way, if you watch at YT, there will be a real time chat, at least on desktop version -- not sure about mobile.

A couple of weeks ago, we posted a photo of Misi Ke holding a 2021 GMA award for Drawing Dialogue, but I think that's what you get for being *nominated? (the actual award is a golden trophy, and she posted a glass plaque) As usual, I got confused.

金音創作獎 #GoldenIndieMusicAwards  added up a new jury-nominated category Asian Original Music Award #亞洲創作音樂獎 for Asian artists (solo/duo/group) using all kinds of languages.

1. Artists throughout Asia without holding ROC #Taiwan citizenship, permanent residency and work permits for foreign employees 

2. Artists entering this category are restricted to single category submission.

3.  Albums/EPs released between July 1st, 2019 and June 30th, 2020

If you go to this page HERE, you can see the various bands that have been granted album recording / overseas touring / marketing / festivals / etc. subsidies this year.  (These were announced in May, but I missed it then)

There doesn’t seem to be as many individual bands/artists receiving grants this year, compared to the last few years. (Perhaps due to the budget being affected by COVID-19?)

Just seeing this in the news...

"We are devastated to share this news with you," SXSW organizers wrote in a statement. "'The show must go on' is in our DNA, and this is the first time in 34 years that the March event will not take place."

Hiperson/海朋森 had already announced last week they wouldn’t be able to make it because of the coronavirus.

Fire EX. 滅火器 and Enno Cheng 鄭宜農 were both going to sxsw and also tour the US together in March, I’ll keep an eye on what they post...  (no announcements yet, but of course they are probably still asleep as of this writing)
