Karla

They made her 10x more cunty and 10x more creature. Absolutely elegant. She is SLAYING right now, and I love her for it. Karla is actually one of my favourites btw, so I'm happy about this!

Ryu Chang

He looks like a hipster, but in a GOOD way. I love his little glasses with his polka dot shoes. I also like how most of his clothes are mostly desaturated except for his neon green shorts.

Paul

He looks EXACTLY like the fanmade designs... I'm in awe. I thought I would be alienated by his new design, but no! It's like he was always like this. ALSOO HIS GLASSES HIS GLASSES LOOK SO CUTE AWWWWWW

Taichi

I like his tie, it kinda reminds me of a fish for some reason? Dude traded the white shirt for a black one, and I think it actually fits him pretty well! I love how he has a permanent ⊙<⊙ face.

12. Did you hear that?

“... Did you hear that?”

Paul paid no heed, instead flashing a light down a barred hallway. 

“Come on, kid, chances are they’re long gone by now.” Taichi put his tail on his shoulder, concern in his voice as he looked around the metro. “This place sounds like it’s gonna fall apart any second now.”

The boy didn’t budge. They had to be, they heard their music come from here, it was unmistakable. He moved on to the next barred hallway, ignorant of the haretail sliding behind him. 

In the distance, the sound of groaning steel echoed through the walls. Someone wasn’t taking care of the support beams. The occasional pool of saltwater they passed by was proof enough of that. Still, if he knew his domes well, structural damage such as this would was normal, it would hold for a few more years.

A harsh crash now. They both could feel the building quake as lights flickered and shook. Poor Taichi looked about to suffer a heart attack the way he tensed up. Ok, maybe a little less. But there was still time he couldn’t waste.

Until Taichi sighed. “Alright, putting the tail down, we’re leaving.” He wrapped his tail around Paul, yanking him off the ground to the young octoling’s process.

“Wait, let me go, they’re here, I know it!”

“They’re not, Paul, we’ve looked for months now. For all we know, they’ve already gotten out of here, we’ll find them somewhere else, I promise.”

The octoling calmed down, another crash shaking the earth around them. It felt wrong to give up, but maybe he was right? 

He would find them one day, soon. Just maybe not in this breaking world.

summary;

It’s the evening of October the 2nd, and a certain dynamically dysfunctional duo is on their way to a party. Not just any party, though! The customary, SquidForce-organized-and-run, pre-collab artist celebration party! They were one out of two lucky bands chosen to play in the soundtrack of the Kensa-collab launch, and had been invited out to celebrate their success! However, fate seems to have other plans for these two. And, whether the realization of such comes in the form of a familiar face or simply the current place, tonight will soon become one that neither of them will forget. For better, or for worse.

OK LIKE . IN HINDSIGHT I REALISE THIS QUESTION IS TOO BROAD TO GET ME GOING CUZ I LIKE A LOT OF LORE (more specific questions are easier for me to ramble about) but i think. my favorite lore to TELL people about is sashimori's origin story cuz its so FUNNY to me.

its HEAVILY implied they're pearls former band, cuz pearl used to be in a metal band (also bring back pearls piercings forreal. shes so cute with them!!!!). and sashimori kicked out their lead singer cuz they were an asshole... and they just did instrumental stuff for a while but then the leader of the band, taichi sawaberu, Who Is A Renowned Guitarist Despite Being An Eel(?) With No Fingers, was like okay we need vocals actually. so they made a post on social media looking for vocals and there was this one response of this guy. and theyre like hell no this is a literal 10 year old kid. and then they listened and it was this like amazing like this lil guy basically vocaloid producer ytpmv style remixes HUMAN vocals from old records he finds. and like. they were so impressed they were like ok guess dj baby is gonna be our vocals!!!! and they were a hit!! and this baby is named Paul. hes so small hes still all gloopy. also as of splat 3 he should be 15 and like...that means he looks more like the player characters which is WEIRD to think about. theres also art of him beating fuka bottom who is (presumably) a fully grown shark at chess....theres more but like. Yeagh. so funny to me
