📍Baywalk Bañadero 🌋
Baywalk Bañadero, located in barangay Bañadero, along with barangay Wawa and Dragon View Deck in barangay Boot, was one of the most popular tourist destinations in Tanauan, Batangas province. People from the city and its neighboring cities take the time to visit the location, which is famed for its breath-taking beauty of Taal Lake and the soothing environment of the place.
My family and I opted to go jogging here since the route is so gorgeous, and with the view of Taal volcano, it's really inspiring to run in such a beautiful spot. It's also calming, and there are numerous restaurants and coffee shops around. If you feel hungry. Take a picture and everyone will assume you're on Tagaytay, but you're actually in Tanauan, Batangas.
If you wish to come here for the clean air, peace, and proximity to nature, it is highly recommended. Come here since we only have one life to live and let's always take vacations to unwind and escape from the hectic aspects of life.

Nature's best: Tagaytay-Nasugbu edition
**********************************
It is known to many that Tagaytay has one of the best views when it comes to landscape. That is why it is one of the top tourist destinations here in the Philippines. During this summer season, people often look for a place to chill and ease the scorching weather, and there are places that immidately comes to mind when it comes to cool climate and beach resorts, Tagaytay and Batangas. These two provinces became one of the top tourist destinations in the country due to their natural beauty. Tagaytay boasts its cool climate and overlooking view of the taal volcano, which is one of the reasons why tourists visit this place. Batangas, on the other hand, houses numerous beaches, resorts, and staycation houses that make them one of the top spots during the summer season. Both of these destinations are also near the metro, which is why a lot of people flock over to visit, enjoy, and have a quick escape from their busy lives.
In the picture is a resthouse/staycation house in Nasugbu, Batangas (taken Tuesday, April 9, 2024). It has swimming pools and a touch of nature, having trees all over the place. This place is perfect for families, friends, or anyone who would want to take a break from their busy lives and have an intimate bonding with each other.
***********************************************
The pictures above are taken from Tagaytay City (Wednesday, April 10, 2024). This is one of the reasons why tourists visit this place, to appreciate the beauty and be in awe of the natural beauty our country possesses. The pictures show the beauty of Taal Lake and Taal Volcano. It is indeed a joy to see such a relaxing and breathtaking view.

In our busy lives, we should not forget to also take a break for our own sake. A quick nature getaway to relax and reconnect with ourselves should also be one of our top priorities. So, take care of yourself, go on a vacation, and enjoy life!

Visiting the Philippines
Before leaving Asia I visited the Philippines with my dad, as he is friends with a couple who live there and invited us to visit them.
The Philippines consists of more than 7,600 islands. We were on the largest and most populous island, Luzon, which is where Manila is located. My dad’s friends whom we stayed with reside outside of Tagaytay, a city that is technically less than two hours south of Metro Manila, but with Philippine traffic it takes longer than that.
I thought Vietnam had crazy traffic, but getting around there was much easier than in the Philippines. My dad’s friends have a hired driver because the roads are honestly insane to navigate there. In addition to cars and motorbikes, the popular modes of transportation that locals use in the Philippines are Jeepneys and tricycles. Jeepneys are essentially the public buses that people can easily hop on and off, and they’re often decorated to be flashy and colorful. They can get quite very crowded, though; we saw several that had people seated on the roof and hanging out of the back. Tricycles are basically motorcycles that have been outfitted with covered sidecars to transport more passengers. These are also often colorful and overflowing with people. While it is cool to see these forms of transportation that are unique to the Philippines, they contributed a lot to the difficult traffic.
Despite spending many hours in the car, our hosts showed us around to some great sites. Tagaytay overlooks Taal Volcano, an active volcano that erupted as recently as 2020. One day we took a boat out on Taal Lake to see the Volcano Island. Due to the volcanic activity this island is supposed to be closed to inhabitants, but people still live there to farm and fish and preserve their homes.
We also went to a beach further south to swim. The water was very clear and calm, making for a pleasant swim. The beach we were at also had boats and water toys available, so we road a banana boat out to sea that allowed us to see more of the coastline and feel some sense of adventure.
For our last day we visited Metro Manila to see some historic sites. We went to Fort Santiago, which provides a lot of insight into colonial history. There is also a museum on site there about José Rizal, a national hero of the Philippines who was executed in 1896 for his role in inspiring the revolution against the Spanish rule. We also visited several churches. The majority of Filipinos are Catholic so there are many beautiful churches around.
Of course I cannot forget to cover the food. Filipino food is AMAZING and I am so sad that it is not easy to find where I live in the US. I left the Philippines well-fed with a stomach full of Halo-halo, Adobo, Chicharon, Lanzones, Mangoes, Pomelo, Sinigang, Lumpia, Kare-kare, Pancit, Milkfish, Bibingka, and Buko Pie. This is not Filipino food, but we also got KBBQ as a treat and it was only about $10 USD. One of the things I will miss most about SE Asia is the availability of incredible food.
Overall I really enjoyed the Philippines and was glad we got to stay with people who live there to see some things that the average tourist would not. Besides the sites and food that I wrote about I also loved how warm and welcoming Filipinos were, and I would love to go back some day. Our hosts recommended Palawan or Boracay for the most beautiful spots so those are now on my bucket list.

Cuenca, Batangas
Major Jumpoff: Mountaineer’s Store, Brgy. 7 “Siete”, Cuenca Exit point (traverse): Brgy 5 (to Grotto), Cuenca LLA: 13°55 N; 121°2 E; 706 MASL (Rockies) / 930 MASL (summit) Days required / Hours to Rockies / summit : 1 day / 1-2 hr / 2-4 hr
Specs: Minor, Difficulty 3/9 (Rockies); 4/9 (Traverse) Trail class 1-3. Features: Scenic views of Taal Lake, rock formations, forests
One of the top hiking spots in the Philippines is Mount Maculot. It provides sweeping views of Batangas's neighboring towns and the renowned Taal Lake. The top of Mount Maculot is 930 meters (3051 ft) above sea level. Mt. Maculot Rockies, on the other hand, is 706 meters or 2316 feet higher than sea level. Despite being less than 1000 meters above sea level, Mt. Maculot may be viewed from Puerto Galera and several locations in the province of Northern Mindoro.
Mt. Maculot is located at the heart of Batangas which is in the municipality of Cuenca, Batangas. This mountain attracts a lot of hikers and mountaineers on weekends and during the summer because of its proximity to Metro Manila. Today, Mt. Maculot is a significant tourist site, a dormant stratovolcano that is ideal for a day hiking excursion for hikers of all skill levels.
Mt. Maculot has a rock formation on top that overlooks the entire Taal Lake, including the Taal volcano, as well as the plains of Batangas, is situated next to Taal Lake. From a distance, Mt. Makiling and the Tagaytay Highlands can be seen on opposite sides. You can view Mt. Halcon in Mindoro if you continue south along Batangas Bay and pass Maricaban Island. It can take less than an hour for expert climbers to reach the Rockies, but it can also take up to two or three hours at a more leisurely pace. Due to the trail's popularity, some enterprising residents would offer drinks at the rest spots along the relatively steep trail, including buko juice.

“See the beauty of Tagaytay City”
I kept returning to there since it was one of my favorite spots in the Philippines. Our ancestral house is in the city of Tagaytay. Since I can easily travel there whenever I want and it is close to Laguna, I think of Tagaytay City as a neighborhood of Laguna.
I adore the endless and breathtaking views of nature in this city. The serenity I always yearn for and can never forget. The breeze that touches my skin moves quickly and smoothly. While the mountains and trees were so stunning. I'm continuously in awe of this place.
It is my safe place; if I need to clear my head and unwind physically, emotionally, even mentally, I always go there. Additionally, it brings me a good sensation that motivates me to work hard. I've traveled to many various cities, nations, and tourist destinations, but Tagaytay City will always hold a special place in my heart.

Tagaytay
When I was a kid, I rode my first horse, got my favorite puppet, ate coconut pie, and saw a volcano for the first time in Tagaytay. It was a golden time when me and my brother got a long and all my cousins didn't have kids or moved away.
**Buko/Coconut Pie is all out since there's a shortage of coconuts. Sounds like a deforestation problem to me (my theory) for those fancy mansions lol.
I've been wanting to go again hopefully to get that puppet (my dog later chewed up) and some jackfruit (literally the world's greatest fruit that tastes like Juicy Fruit gum).
It was now only an hour away because they improved the roads. That's not all the improved. There are literal mansions lined up there kind of like Beverly Hills, Boutique Hotels, and restaurants that capitalize the view. Bathrooms everywhere and ready souvenirs. So much has changed! I remember a 4 hour drive and waking up early to avoid traffic. I trained my bladder as a kid just to not inconvenience the adults.
All that has changed and it makes me wonder if the city has invested in it or the new landowners lined up for the now Kitschy tourist spots?
Anyway mission jackfruit... I learned the best and cheapest fruit is when you buy from a stand by itself. Fruit stands lined up together drive the price up because they collectively a tourist trap. Singular fruit stands grow the fruit and can charge you lower. All the fruits were so ripe and beautiful. The juice was dripping out of the pineapple and we would just eat the little ripe bananas to see if we wanted to buy them.
Next we go to this beautiful restaurant Leslie's to see the Taal Volcano. My Lola was very concerned about the village that lived at the bottom of the mountain close to the sea. Even in her old age, she's so considerate (she asked us about 4 times). Being there with my mom and Lola was so wonderful because time is not something we ever get back, so best to live with the living while we can.
Then we go to Picnic Grove. I feel it's familiarity. This is where the puppet came from! I didn't find the puppet but I did find kids like myself, so happy to get a toy there. It made me realize that the person who made that puppet will never know how much I loved something they crafted. I learned in this moment that art can never be measured by its maker and that is the natural order of the joy it induces to those that receive art.
We head home and pass by the ol' Dictator's run down house. It's decadence makes me so angry. But I am glad it is now home to a few houseless people.
We get home and chop up the jackfruit to give our relatives and neighbors. My mom didn't like the way I peel it and said I wouldn't pass her quality control. I say, you have your methods and I have mine. But overall, it's quality time together and that's sweeter than the fruit itself.

Trabyahe: Entry No. 2 The Enchanted Castle of Fantasy World: A Closer Look
Welcome to Fantasy World!
A place where dreams almost come true! Located near Lemery, Batangas, this enchanting destination is often mistaken for Tagaytay due to its beautiful rolling hills and stunning views. Originally planned to be a grand theme park like Disneyland, the construction of Fantasy World was halted midway. Despite this, it has become a magical spot for photos and fairy tale fun.
Fantasy World is an Instagram hotspot, perfect for capturing amazing photos. The park's whimsical scenery and dreamy backdrop make it an ideal location for prenuptial shoots and anyone looking to add a touch of magic to their pictures. Imagine walking through the park, surrounded by buildings that look like they’re straight out of a storybook. Every corner offers a new and enchanting photo opportunity.
The highlight of Fantasy World is its towering castle. This grand building was meant to be the main attraction of the theme park. Visitors who are not afraid of heights can climb to the top of the main tower. From there, you will see breathtaking views of the whole park and the beautiful landscape around it. The views from the top of the castle perfectly blend natural beauty and amazing architecture.
So, come and enjoy Fantasy World, where fairy tales and real-life mix. The rides might be still, but the magic is real!
Things to do inside Fantasy World
Take pictures
There are lots of Instagram-worthy locations in Fantasy World. Even without effort, the castle alone is incredibly intriguing and looks amazing in pictures. Even though the rides aren't working, you may still sit on them to take amusing pictures.
Rent a costume
For P300, you can rent a fairytale or medieval outfit for the duration of your visit, adding to the experience. You may capture far more magic and enjoyment in your selfies and photos when you explore the park dressed according to the theme.
Climb to the top of the main tower
The balcony offers an unobstructed 360-degree view of the castle grounds and the surrounding environment, creating a perfect blend of natural beauty and spectacular architecture.
Cross the hanging bridge
Within the castle grounds, you'll find two gigantic trees connected by a hanging bridge. Climb up and attempt crossing it for more amazing photo chances.
Fantasy World Day Tour Rates
The new admission price is P200 for each individual.
Up until recently, the admission rate was P1000, good for up to five people. Back then, you would still have to pay P1000 even if your group consisted of fewer than five people. However, it was modified to P100 per person in November 2019.
The majority of people who park in front of the castle typically do so only to snap pictures and never inside. However, a portion of that is due to their ignorance about their ability to enter.
The hours of operation for Fantasy World are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sample Itinerary
The itinerary should cost you around P620 (USD12, EUR10, SGD16). But this is if you’re not stopping anywhere else.

JOSELITO'S RESORT AND EVENTS PLACE
Joselito's Escape: Holy Week with the Crew (Because We All Deserve a Break)
Let's be honest, folks. Holy Week is supposed to be about rest and reflection, but sometimes those family gatherings and crowded tourist spots can leave you feeling more drained than zen. This year, my friends and I decided to ditch the usual routine and seek a different kind of Holy Week escape. Enter Joselito's Resort and Events Place in Amadeo, Cavite – a hidden gem that turned into our own little slice of paradise.
Tagaytay is great and all, but this year, we craved a getaway with a more relaxed vibe. A place where we could ditch the tourist hordes and reconnect with nature – and maybe some good old-fashioned board games. Joselito's delivered in spades! The moment we pulled in, we were greeted by wide-open spaces, fresh air, and the calming absence of city noise. Their function halls were impressive too – spacious and air-conditioned, perfect for any kind of gathering, big or small. But for us, the real draw was the chance to simply unwind and catch up with each other.
The resort itself had this aura of tranquility that instantly put us at ease. Maybe it was the lack of traffic honking, or maybe it was the sight of my friends sprawled out on the grass, laughing and telling stories. Their function halls were impressive, but for us, the real gem was the pool.
Let's just say that pool was the answer to all our prayers after a long and traffic-filled drive. We spent a good chunk of the afternoon lounging by the water, swapping stories, and soaking up the sun. It was pure relaxation therapy, and exactly what we needed to de-stress and reconnect.
We didn't stay overnight this time, but their selection of rooms definitely sparked some ideas for a future getaway. Imagine waking up to that gorgeous Cavite view with all my favorite people by my side? Sounds like the perfect recipe for a memorable weekend. Plus, I heard they have a special promo for overnight events that includes a room for two – hello, budget-friendly friend trip!
Joselito's isn't just about the resort itself. Amadeo is a hidden gem waiting to be explored! We wandered through the local shops together, stopping for some yummy Caviteño cuisine (seriously, this region is a foodie paradise!). We even stumbled upon a charming historical landmark – a nice little history lesson for the group (and a chance to stretch our legs after all that poolside lounging).
Joselito's Resort and Events Place exceeded our expectations in every way. It's the perfect escape from the usual Holy Week chaos, a place to unwind, reconnect with nature, and create some lasting memories with your loved ones. Whether you're a family looking for quality time, a group of friends seeking an adventure, or a solo traveler yearning for some peace and quiet, Joselito's offers something for everyone.
My Tips for this Trip:
Call ahead to check their rates and promos. You never know, you might snag a sweet deal for your next friendventure!
Pack your swimsuit and some pool floats – that pool is calling your name (and trust me, you'll want to answer)!
Don't forget insect repellent, especially if you plan on exploring the charming town of Amadeo.
Ask the friendly staff for recommendations on local restaurants. They'll point you in the right direction for delicious food and a taste of Caviteño culture.
Have you ever been to Joselito's Resort with your friends? If so, tell me about your experience in the comments below!

“Leg Day All the Way”
Cold season is coming, brew some coffee so you will feel warm. By the way, call me Cold Brew, I’m 17 years old, not a cold person, but my head always brews like a boiling pot. I think I need a specific therapy to hold on, speed therapy is what I need to refresh myself from this rough path that I’ve chosen.
I like bikes, specifically mountain bikes and motorcycles, also one of my dreams is to be part of a pro motorcycle racing team. “In the navy, yes you can sail the seven seas” how I wish someday like my father in the navy who travels the sea. Although I don’t want to be part of the navy, I still want to travel the sea someday. My father was a U.S Navy veteran who had been working on a ship, and he is so smart that I inherited some of his intelligence. One of my bucket list is Japan, because I love their culture and different tourist spots there, but I removed it from the list because my mother had been there. My mother was a ofw in Japan when she was in her 20’s. At that time I didn't exist yet, not until she met my father in the Philippines. I hate when my bike is broken, I don’t even know what the problem is and how to fix it, but let’s call my brother who knows how to fix the problem. My brother is 2 years younger than me and his passion is fixing things that he knows, and also my brother is like a magician when he fixes something in a period of time.
Me and my brother love cycling, with our bike we can travel across the city and even reach mountains whenever we want to. The longest ride that we experienced was when we went to Tagaytay with our friends, the four of us, me, my brother, Jhuvie, and Mj. “It’s raining in Manila” by Lola Amour, this song makes me remember the time that we ride our bikes from Quiapo, Manila, but suddenly the rain started and our bikes got almost beaten by the floods on the road, although we are wet it’s very fun to experience something like that in our life. Post Malone said “Ooh, I fall apart” I fall apart from love also, but like the teaching in school there is always a lesson, and I believe it happens for a reason.
