So, About the Jack Bright controversy...

The Bright drama got so stupid.

Did Rick and Morty get canceled when Justin was revealed with a domestic felony or people demanded it's cancellation? Did Lovecraft's mythos get erased because the original creator was a disturbed xenophobia? Did JK Rowling being a transphobic stopped people from enjoying Hogwart Legacy? Were Charlie Chaplin movies had the character replaced by some dude because the real life Charlie Chaplin was a womanizer pig? Did the fact that some cartoons like Danny Phantom and Dilbert were made by racists or pedos so as plently anime brands like Kenshin stopped people from looking at them fondly? No, like it or not plenty of works were made by assholes and art shouldn't be subjected to the furnace just because the maker of it happened to be jackass, otherwise what's even the point of art?

By that logic then half of every work of fiction or art ever made should be erased, anything else that's just plain hypocrisy nothing more, besides by the stupid change name all you will do is reminding people and adding more fuel to the fire. You aren't letting the wound heal itself, you are only gaping it.

By the way, Name or not It's literally still just Bright but they're slapping a new name tag on him and calling it a day. That's what makes it stupid, on top of the other reasons I mentioned. Katkus, the guy who's changing Bright's name in all the stories he's written, literally just said and I quote; "In his place, I offer you Dr. Elias Shaw, a wild Foundation doctor cursed to wear SCP-963. Any similarities to other characters, living or dead, is purely coincidental."

There's no effort in that change. It's not even a different character, it's literally just freaking Jack Bright swapping a name tag with someone. IF there was some kind of rewrite of Bright's character then maybe, MAYBE I could understand and respect the decision. But they changed nothing. They just hit CTRL+F and swapped out Bright with Shaw. Everyone knows who Bright is, everyone who reads the name "Elias Shaw" is going to say "Oh so this is Bright". It literally accomplishes nothing. If you wanted to "erase" Bright from future Foundation lore, make a new character to take his place.

And like it or not, plently tales about Jack Bright were NOT made by the adminmotherfucker and the character is an intergal part of the SCP mythos, you want to rename or erase the character from your stories? Then do it! Your stories your rule! but remember, everyone have every right to use the character so don't even think about dragging others to your level and go "oh! You mysgonist toxic pervet! You don't care about anyone!" Like a fucking Velma karen from twitter otherwise you are no better than the motherfucker you claim to hate!

Edit:by the way, almost all Bright's lore was made by hundreds of authors, the admin jackass piece of shit just happened to role invented his name so no one can claim ownership on Jack.

I need people in these fandoms to understand that criticism is having ideas to tweak something you feel mixed about but see has potential. Not to completely change and rework something you knew you didnt like to begin with because it's not to your vision.

I'm so tired of seeing people in these tags go

"it's just criticism"

And than the criticism is completely changing and making what they didn't like unrecognizable to what it once was just cause it wasn't what they wanted or doing it out of pure whiny spite, and then getting mad when they get called haters because in retrospect, you really do come off like that. Shit happens a lot in fandoms nowadays and it's so annoying.

(except with Velma cause Jesus lord that show needs a whole ass reboot.)

Some people just gotta tell themselves that shit ain't for them really. And that's okay. I'm not big on Haileys on it and The Ghost and Molly Mcgee but at the end of the day I tell myself it isn't for me and there's nothing I could really criticise and bring to the table that can tweak the show in a more satisfying way and make me stay and watch more. It just isn't for me and thats it so it's better to move on and direct the focus and energy towards something I find mistakes in and can criticise but genuinely do like and enjoy.

I criticise the fuck out of miraculous cause I see the potential and know it was once a show I truly loved and got very interested in. Not because I never liked it and wish to shit on others achievements and ideas instead of using that energy to make and build up my own.

The whole idea of criticism is so fucking lost in fandom spaces it's sad.

I like Helluva Boss, and have been a fan since the pilot, and I dont make overly detailed designs, ive also researched the lore for years as a reference for my own work, because beleive it or not- I do think that the concepts are cool, they were just poorly executed! Also, nice job defending Vivziepop when she just recently said shit like this, just because someone critiqued her work, she accused them of being "NOT A WRITER!" and harassed them for simple criticism:

(not) sorry to break this to you: But that's creepy, that's creepy as hell and you clearly need to take a break if someone critiqueing a cartoon pisses you off to this unhealthy amount that you basically stalked them and then wrote hate towards them for basic things such as redesigns (that arent even for animation!) or disliking a cartoon character like this is some big political debate somehow- over a cartoon! Hell, There are people like this person is describing in the first paragraph, but they're mostly in the "anti" hazbin tag- not the "critical" one.
