during this whole ordeal of people ribbing on how tacky the baymax trans flag shirt is, and a lot of good points being made about the show staff being as blatant as possible so people can't feign ignorance and make excuses for the character being trans like they do in most cases when the character is "implicitly trans" (aka they don't shout or say I'M TRANS!!), all i can think about and remember is sawaki momoe from wonder egg priority

you have her be extremely uncomfortable with and getting distressed by being seen as masculine or a boy; you have her struggling with her best friend's (haruka's) feelings for her because she didn't fully understand at first that women can like other women and was upset because she thought her best friend sees her as a boy and that's why she was liked; you have her literally spend an entire episode bonding with a character (kaoru) who explicitly states he's a boy and wears a trans flag coloured jacket, and the episode's whole thematic narrative between them was his struggles of not being seen as a man by people around him was paralleling momoe's struggles with not being seen as a woman by people around her, and THIS SCENE HAPPENS ALSO

where she literally shouts "I'M A GIRL!" and rips her shirt open to reveal her trans flag coloured bra

and people STILL like insisting that she's "not a trans woman" and she can be interpreted in any other way

non trans people can relate to the struggles of trans people. there's a lot of overlap, and a lot of gender struggles have to do with a systemic issue of how society perceives gender and the unfair expectations on what it takes to be a woman or a man

but it doesn't make it right for cis people to insist that a character who is HEAVILY implied as a trans woman, only short of her saying ANYTHING about herself pre-transition (which is a gross thing to expect from trans characters and people just because you want "confirmation"), can be interpreted in a way that doesn't paint her as trans.

showrunners can liter their work with as much trans symbolism and subtext as much as they want, and non trans people will still find ways to dismiss this for their own convenience. and as seen with how people responded to momoe, they can be as tacky as they want by literally giving trans flag colors to their characters and people STILL insist on "intepreting" the character as being not trans

people always find excuses to disregard trans characters. so yeah, what they did for the baymax trans flag shirt was tacky, but when people always find ways to invalidate a trans character and "intepret" them as anything but trans then the creatives behind a media are allowed to be as on the nose and tacky about trans characters as they want. if people want to always argue and point to "vagueness" as proof of a character not being trans, then let's just not give them vagueness any more.

i also enjoy autistic!gojo bc so much of autism can make you scan as fabulously cocky or egocentric, meanwhile you just feel like you're being honest. lil kid satoru who sees zero reason to beat around the bush- he IS all that, actually. why pretend otherwise? as an adult, he can ignore politeness rules that seem meaningless bc c'mon! who's going to enforce them? his frighteningly low levels of tact started on accident but then became part of the bit. (seriously, who tf kills someone, then finds their kid and thinks "yeah lemme tell this Child i killed their dad". he just like me fr.) satoru with egocentric thinking my absolute beloved <3

i'm of the opinion that it's kind of unavoidable that your ridiculously overpowered character can be read as autistic. if you make a more-than-human character, usually they end up feeling slightly outside of human too, and that's like. a core experience of autism for a lot of people.

There are a lot of issues here that I'm sure have been talked to death but I'm going to lay out my two cents anyway.

1. People are right, why tf is Sumeru a conglomeration of cultures rather than taking inspiration from one country or group specifically, like the rest of the regions we have so far? Grouping the entire Middle East with the entirety of Southeast Asia for some... mishmash aesthetic looks dumb and is just really doing a disservice to every culture you're trying to take inspiration from. It would've been much better to pick a specific area and stick with that.

2. I'd ask why Genshin designers are afraid of making characters with dark skin, but I know the answer is because dark skinned characters don't make money in their view. Genshin Impact is first and foremost a waifu/husbando simulator and unfortunately, colorism is rampant not only across the main CN and JP markets, but the rest of the world too. Pale skin is seen as a very desirable trait while anything darker than a light tan is not. Hence, it is safer for Hoyoverse to make light skinned characters because they know that's what the beauty standard is. Obviously this sucks major ass and is not right at all, but since when have companies really cared about anything other than profit? Especially gacha games, who are designed to suck the most money out of you as possible?

3. Everyone doing redesigns of the current Sumeru characters are doing the Lord's work. It is clear to me and hopefully anyone else with eyes that a lot of these characters would look much better if they had darker skin and outfits that weren't just... vague amalgamations of... some kind of culture. Looking at the leaked designs, it is really hard to tell what real world cultural designs and motifs most of them are supposed to be referencing. (Again, see point 1). And for some, like Dori, they're just straight up stereotypes, which is arguably worse.

4. AFAIK, there are more dark skinned characters in the works, and hopefully that balances the Sumeru cast out more, but that still doesn't excuse all of this nonsense. I'm really worried about the trend this is setting... Natlan is supposed to be based off of Mesoamerica, but with the way things are going with Sumeru, I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with even more light skinned people instead of dark skinned ones. I also don't really trust Hoyo to handle Natlan with any kind of tact; having a region based on Central America be themed after violence and war is already playing pretty dangerously into stereotype territory. My expectations are already 6 feet under and I'm sure I'll still be disappointed.

5. I'll be honest, I have no idea what to do about any of this. Obviously the players are right to be mad and should voice their concerns to the rest of the playerbase and Hoyoverse themselves, but I think we're all aware at this point that Hoyo doesn't give a damn about the surveys and replies to emails with just bot answers. It seems highly unlikely to me that they will do anything about this, unless they feel like they're going to lose a significant amount of money because of it. I mean, they caved when everyone got on them about the anniversary rewards, and arguably this is much more important than that! But really, who knows. I guess just make your opinion known to Hoyoverse and if push comes to shove be ready to pack up and leave unless the criticism is acknowledged. You have to be serious about not giving them any money, or else they won't listen. They have to know it is more profitable to listen and respond to criticism than it is to ignore it and be ignorant.

I think that about covers my opinion on all of this. Remember to think critically about what you see and hear, and to do your own research before coming up with answers to your questions. I, and no one else in the tag, or on Twitter or Reddit or anywhere else, is a 100% expert on any of these issues, and it behooves you as a consumer to gather information from all sides of an issue before coming to a conclusion.

Here’s Why Analysts Remain Bullish After Bitcoin Slipped Below $12,000

As reported by Bitcoinist previously, Bitcoin suffered a correction after peaking above $12,400 on Monday.

The cryptocurrency has since suffered a retracement, falling in tandem with the price of gold. BTC now trades at $11,800 as of this article’s writing.

BTC remains below the pivotal $12,000 horizontal level, which acted as support and resistance on multiple occasions over the past few weeks.

Bitcoin’s correction initially shocked bulls.

But positive sentiment has quickly returned to Crypto Twitter, with many calling for a return to levels above $12,000.

They cite a confluence of technical and fundamental trends suggesting the uptrend is intact.

Is Bitcoin’s Uptrend Intact? Many Analysts Think So

Despite the technical damage Bitcoin suffered after dropping below $12,000, analysts remain optimistic about the prospects of the leading cryptocurrency.

One analyst shared the chart below after the worst of the correction. The chart shows that Bitcoin actually bounced off a pivotal diagonal uptrend that has held since the end of July. The level stretches back to $11,000.

“Looks like the $BTC demand is still in tact. Price below this diagonal being eaten up. Great point of failure for more downside given the validity of the line.”

BTC holding this level suggests it remains in an ascending triangle formation. The formation predicts that Bitcoin will eventually break to $13,000 should it validate the triangle by holding above $12,000.

This optimism was echoed by a swath of other analysts.

Another noted that since Bitcoin held the $11,600 range, there is a good likelihood the price trend reverts higher in the coming days: “$BTC Basically I’m long and will close if we break below. Low TF is noise and higher TF structure is still bullish – higher highs and lows.”

Also showing BTC still has strength are technical indicators.

Commenting on the On Balance Volume indicator, which shows the flow of capital in markets, one trader said that it seems that there’s capital flooding into Bitcoin:

“OBV is starting to look promising. Buy-pressure is evident over the last 2 hours ever since putting in the day’s lows. $BTC longs in this region may prove to be rewarding over the coming days/weeks.”

Fundamentals Also Intact

The fundamentals of the cryptocurrency market are also intact, analysts argue.

Per previous reports from Bitcoinist previously, digital asset manager Charles Edwards argued that it’s hard to be bearish on Bitcoin. This is due to a confluence of fundamental factors, which includes but isn’t limited to:

Bitcoin has been adopted by Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports, who has a following of over a million.

The Federal Reserve is still doing work on a digital dollar project.

Tether’s market capitalization is increasing at a rapid rate.

Pettiness.

I have spent years biting hard on my forked fucking tongue not to shit on peoples feelings. 

Years not responding to swiss cheese theories. Years of writing and rewriting analysis to be as tactful as possible and still seeing the vagues pile up over the next week. 

Years of getting condescending well it's sweet that you think that type responses when I said the writers were telling the stories they told intentionally, cause that is their job. Years of saying it’s not over til its over and getting well it’s nice you have the energy for hoping haha back. 

Well now it is over. It’s all over. And the last time I am likely ever going to see all seven of these characters I love gave me almost nothing of what I hoped for for any of them. AND showed no value to what SHIELD had finally become as an organization that they just backslid on I guess just for the visual. And I don’t mean the boohoo they don’t all live together forevahr part.

But now that the ending was ‘eh good enough’ for many I'm just supposed to shut tf up so no one has a dent in their warm fuzzy?

I haven't gotten a moments peace from ph*linda negativity without unfollowing/blocking people my entire time in the fandom, let alone the be the ‘right kind’ of ph*linda shipper vagueing that went on for a long time. No one has ever tagged their damn catastrophizing. People have straight up said they shouldn’t have to tag their blatant negativity in a blockable way because “most of the fandom agrees with it”. 

Let alone the multishipping hostility. Let alone the weird popularity shit around the smaller ships. The childish pretending you didn’t read stuff I know you read thing and the people wringing their hands at kink and wanting a pat on the head for it. Let alone the constantly worsening oh there’s not content for x it’s terrible and crickets when someone makes some (And for the record I could give af less if thats reblogs or not, I’m not trying to sell anything here). Let alone the willfull genre-blindness to things that happen to these characters or things you personally find icky cause this is scifi damnit and not a damn hallmark movie. If you can’t tell an android from a roomba why are you goddamn talking about it. Why are you even watching the damn show??

People haven't even had the goddamn manners to keep it out of the comments section of my fics for almost TWO YEARS. I have spent so much goddamn time finding gracious ways to respond around the unasked for complaining about a show and definitely unwelcome negging relationships I love on my works that had nothing to do with any of that. Obviously I shouldn’t have bothered.

Now that the worst case scenarios a bunch of ya’ll made up based on nothing didn't pan out you're happy and just as happy to tell the unhappy why everyone else should just be grateful too.

Now that some of you realized all on your lonesomes oh snap the writers do things on purpose we're all supposed to find it profound.

Well no. I won’t be doing that. That one year later sequence was moldy swiss cheese and the comments being made about why they did some of it by the producers are infuriating. The things the actors had to add themselves cause no one bothered to include them are infuriating. And everyone who keeps cherrypicking one quote from one interview to ‘prove’ something is just embarrassing. I don’t put a lot of my real life on here. If you’ve been around here a while you probably know what I think and what I like about aos but you have no goddamn idea what parts of it meant to me personally, not really. 

So maybe just maybe we could have the manners to not assume we have all the reasons people are upset right now figured out and I’ll keep on not adding shitty argumentative replies to others people’s posts being positive. The way this has all flipped so many things for me in this damn fandom is making my head spin. Thank you bottom of my heart thank you to everyone who reached out to talk with me who hated the parts i hated for the reasons I hated them too for making me feel not-completely-crazy.

This got outta hand so quickly. But here was my overall answer:

I follow a lot of seventeen blogs. Like a lot. But I also follow a lot of people who are generally nice and who have cute tags because they help brighten up my day. I like art blogs and those calming aesthetic blogs because they make my dash prettier. And I follow my in-real-life friends like @leechansthighs and @verifiedspheniscidae and @vernaans no matter their content (although their blogs are all still A+ content and I’d probably follow them regardless). And I like @myetie so much that I played Mystic Messenger just to better understand what was going on in her artwork because her art is cute and funny and I stumbled upon it accidentally so I had to catch up. 

But to get specific? Hmmm, well, in no particlar order…. 

Of course I have my mutuals like @miiinghao @kimbapkidding @thatgirlcatt13 @jeonwonxwoo and @kw0njisol who I probably forgot to reply to like 3 billion years ago in chat but are still amazing and I love with my soul but am too nervous to say anything to because I know the only reason we’ve stopped talking is because I’m disorganized af. 

And then, well, @fyhoshi probably dominates my dashboard with HD Hoshi pics (not that I mind, really). Seriously, if you’re a Hoshi stan, follow them (you likely already are). You won’t regret it. In a very similar way, if you’re a Woozi stan, then you’ve gotta follow @woozioppa for all her constant updates and flooding of your dashboard. Just from following her, Woozi jumped like 5 spots on my bias list because of all the Woozi content.

@pristeen-23 is honestly such a good friend (used to write on her blog but not anymore,,, GIRL I’M STILL MOURNING). She’s friends with so many people because she’s a beautiful human being and deserves to be loved and rolled into a warm blanket and fed good food bye. 

OKAY so who hasn’t heard of @woozifi? Honestly, whether it’s for Tessa’s art or Tessa’s writing (CHECK OUT HER AO3), she excels in whatever she does. Talk about multitalented. Her commissions are open here. 

I like art blogs a lot!!! @bodtster was probably the first fan art blog I ever followed and I am lowkey,,, in love,,, with Annie and her work (her personal @sailorpeach is hella aesthetic if you also wanna check that out.) Her commissions are open right here.

@94wnd Graphics man, graphics. She’s the pop of colour on my dash that always makes me stop and go “ooOoOhh” because her graphics are so vibrant and pleasing. And her writing is great too! Definition of that one mom friend who always makes you feel like honey, starlight, and warm hugs on a Thursday afternoon. She makes me feel good about my angst and I love reading her tags okay. 

I frickin love memes and shitposts, and I recently discovered @amemericans [I know, I know, y’all are all like “where have you been?” and ur rite where have I been?]. They’ve got the best memes in the business. We have recently formed the idol group Clickb8,,, and are accepting all applications – so rhymes, limericks, and haikus thx. 

@incorrect7teen always makes me laugh with her incorrect quotes and love for DK,,, She’s really sweet and interactive too. Her little window into her daily life and thoughts is really so entertaining, and one can’t help but want to be friends ^^

@doyomi has some great incorrect NCT quotes, so if any NCTzens are floating around. @gwikimchi is her main blog but she has like a million blogs that I apparently don’t follow even though I know them by heart??? FRICK I’M THE DAMN WORST. ( @lordyoungho for kpop horoscopes and @sebooty-lyfe for writing). 

Choco from @choco-seventeen is such a sweetheart and her writing is stunning. Legit, her writing will probably make you want to cry. Heck, I have cried while reading her writing. And I will continue to cry because she always gets better and better and is always looking to improve and wow everything she does motivates me. 

Did you know that if you looked up talent in the dictionary you’ll get @hansolmates? Legit when I saw her writing for the first time I blanched. I wish man, I wish. Her timing is terrific, her fluff makes me melt, and her angst makes me jealous. I wish I had an ounce of her skill. 

Another art blog I follow is @cutiepatoodieart, who never fails to impress. Joey’s style is absolutely breathtaking and I love her art so so much. As well, she always says what’s on her mind without holding back, which I think is admirable. Her commissions are also very open right here.

@hoshbrownie is precious. Absolutely precious. Eva will talk to you and make you feel like you matter. She will think about you and tag you in things and I’m actually teary-eyed because she’s so precious and every not-so-anonymous anon (hoshbrownie i see u) I get from her makes me so happy. 

@svt-husbands THE WELL OILED AND FAST WORKING MACHINE. You guys know who they are, of course you do. Great quality writing at insane speeds, these guys are everything I want to be bye. I remember first talking to one of the admins @squishteen , and I was like ??? How do such interesting people exist ??? She’s amazing and writes on her main as well, go follow her. I more recently started talking to @jeongguktm, and can confirm that yes she is as adorable and kind as one might expect her to be. ALSO JUST REALIZED THAT I RECENTLY MISSED HER BIRTHDAY and tf is wrong with me, this isn’t how you make friends. Happy belated birthday sweets

Jackie from @tookorean lowkey intimidates me because everything she does turns to gold. She’s hard working and loves Woozi and if that’s not enough reason to follow then I don’t know what is. Sometimes translates, sometimes does this. Another multitalented goddess on our hands, this is getting overwhelming. 

@vitaminniedk just read her tags and you’ll understand why I follow her. She also has probably the best theme around? Vivienne is as much of a sunshine as her bias, and you’ve probably seen her gifs floating around. 

Gen from @wonnhao is a gif goddess that you are probably all aware of and her interactions are really cute too so of course I’m following her. Aren’t you? 

@wasabi-duck who is on an indefinite hiatus but you should still see her writing anyway. She was the sole person who attracted me to the bullet-point style that’s getting more and more popular around here these days. My friends and I would like read her stories out loud at lunch over sandwiches and I feel nostalgic just writing this. She’s also very kind and I like the stuff she reblogs on her main @clockwork-lullaby.

@mounteenbase is back from the dead so check her out! Lots of fun lil blurbs and bullet-point fics. Fluff master and a lowkey meme master. Very cute and easy to talk to, fun and interesting as one can see from her main blog @mounteenbase-main. 

@saythename17scenarios is graceful. Perhaps that’s not the right word but heaven knows my vocabulary isn’t extensive enough to describe how I feel about Kimbap Mom. Her writing is distinctive and tactful, and she often finds the greatest of beauty in the simplest of concepts. One day she might write a full length multi-part fic and I will be here eagerly awaiting each update because I’m trash for her. 

@moodboards-and-profiles flowers and unicorns and everything pure. When we first talked she was legit one of the most encouraging people I’ve ever met, and I’m sure that remains the same despite our lack of communication! Actually has some really cute moodboards (that she should tag because she can gain some major attention winkwinknudgenudgeshoveshove). 

Oh and recently I started following @askjournalismsvt and this is probably my favourite SVT Tumblr AU ever. Sam and Kei perfectly portray Seventeen as members of the “Diamond City University journalism department” and answer questions with the cutest of doodles ack. They’re also hilarious and I want to be this funny. 

And whilst writing this, @puppetwritings popped into my head even though I just followed her like now. She was the first fanfic account that I got into way before I actually made an account and since I didn’t have an account I would just check her Tumblr constantly and put her in my bookmarks. I got busy after a while and then made my account after another while, but I can’t believe I forgot to follow such a phenomenal writer.

Anyway thanks for the question love! This was fun to write up and reflect on :)
