the complicated and highly silly worldbuilding/headcanons of mumbo k jumbo:

Seasons 2-8: ‘Human.’ Absolutely not human though. Like this man just doesn’t know he’s a shapeshifter. It’s not like he has a reference for what humans are though? No one on HC is. At least not that he thinks is human? Because there’s no one on hc that’s like him. Clearly shows signs of being a shapeshifter. Clearly shows signs of his shapeshifting abilities being able to affect others temporarily, too. He changes form, or someone else does at his hands? It’s just the Narrative/Story Magic/Builder’s Magic!

Season 8: multiple things happen at once. The most noticeable, the soul stealing thing. He knows but only actually processes afterwards that grian never was human in the first place, a real testament to exactly how crazy his perspective is. Boatem meeting is called, they figure out Mumbo’s a shapeshifter and probably has been the entire time they’ve known him, and then Scar goes, “what about the vampirism?”

Season 8, continued: “What do you mean, ‘what about the vampirism?’” says the other four members of boatem, mumbo loudest of all.

Season… I don’t know. maybe before hermitcraft, even. or somewhere between season 2 and 5. Mumbo is bitten by a vampire. Mumbo is a shapeshifter who is a human at the time, so it looks like nothing changes. It’s kind of an awkward exchange, but they both go about their day like nothing happened. mumbo doesnt figure out that vampire was actually a vampire.

Season 5 sometime: Mumbo is in his base. the Convex are spying on him. Mumbo is quite clearly a vampire but he is still very much under the impression he is human. he’s accidentally shapeshifted into his vampire form, but is clueless. he probably just thinks his base is lagging out his mirror. The Convex know mumbo’s a vampire, and have seen him as such, but he seems human next time he’s seen

And, if we’re feeling extra silly, though this one’s optional (listen. none of this is set in stone.): Post-moonfall, the void. The dormant Watcher abilities gained from the soulsteal awaken, or at least begin to.

what's been your favorite part of writing tacom?

Ok so I don’t write very often. Like every now and then I’ll spit out a paragraph or two but more often than not those paragraphs don’t leave the discord or are just something I do to demonstrate an idea that could be cool.

Like the first draft of the lapis chalk scene with Martyn in the last chapter? It’s three lines total across two discord messages, somewhere between meta commentary, brainstorming, and Telling, and it’s very different to what actually ended up in the book.

But it’s there, and it was mine, and Patton immediately answered with a “yes, and,” and it became the scene it is now.

So I guess the best part of writing this fic is the collaboration, when we get in a rhythm of ideas. We “yes, and” well, and we “oh, that’s cool, but this might be even better” well, and we “[appears out of nowhere] what if it was this?” *really* well. And it’s a lot of fun when we get it right. - Chambers

I've gotta agree with Chambers about the collaboration, but my answer is how much I like connecting dots!!

I love how I can connect people together. The Blood Gods, The Old Syndicate, The Doomsday Relief Housing Services, L'manburg, Pix and Phil, the hippies of S6, The Silver Scale Pirates, etc.

Everyone has a place. Nobody is an island, nobody is alone. Everyone is connected to someone, and if they are alone, they will find someone.

Etho, Oli, and [REDACTED] found Quackity. Mumbo found The Syndicate. Wilbur found Renbob. [REDACTED] found Wilbur. Tommy found herself.

This entire story is a huge journey of self discovery for me, and helped me realize a lot. So I'm not just connecting characters together. I'm connecting people to people. I've made some of my best friends through this book! @chambers003 , @ashtreehollow ,@helleborusangel are all people I talk to all the time, and they mean so much to me! That wouldn't have happened without the TACOMLU!

So, my favorite part of writing, is the connections I've made, and can keep making <3 - Patton

I wish I could go back and watch Technoblade for the first time. The DreamSMP, The Potato War, MCC Pride. I'd do anything to have that experience again. If you haven't seen a Techno vod ever, I can link some recommendations. He was one of the funniest people I've ever watched, and he deserves to be remembered that way. - Patton

How I design outfits for different SMPSs

DreamSMP: easy to PVP in, easy to wash, can be mended in the heat of battle, made for harsh elements like war, snow, the nether. Can be worn under or over armor. Lots pof pockets. Don't have to be replaced for 3 to 10 years

Empires SMP: historically accurate with a fantasy twist. Rococo and medieval can exist in the same realm for different reasons. Weather is accounted for, but resources are more plentiful. Can be replaced easily, but still made to last

Hermitcraft: balls to fucking walls, go absolutely fucking nuts. Overalls, flannel, and work boots? Sure. The most extravagant ball gown you've ever seen just for building? Obviously. Clothes are changed out so easily because there's an over abundance of resources, even in the early game- Patton
