Hello fellow lads and lasses.

Today I introduce you to my other child in the family. Their name is Baja Blast. Baja is a rescue from Petsmart that was attacked by another gecko that ate their tail. My heart wouldn’t leave work without them. So they are my new baby named after the love of my life that is taco bell and Baja blast Mountain Dew.

So a lot of shit happened and I desperately need help. TLDR at the bottom.

My name is Mun. I wanted to start this blog off lighthearted and funny, but things have changed quickly.

I’m a college graduate, illustration major. I’m unemployed still despite applying for numerous customer service, retail, and food industry jobs, being turned down months into looking. Every opportunity I’ve had to make a quick buck like a yard sale or working a local job has been foiled for me. Yard sale turns into a day I can’t use the lawn because someone else’s friends are coming over for the day suddenly. Local job doesn’t need someone at entry level but rather a pastry chef or experienced lifeguard. ETC. I have little to no money to my name, and I’ve got loans due starting this month.

Just today, I gave away my leopard gecko, Taco, to a pet shop the next town over to save some money. It’s something I would never commit to doing if it want for the constant conversations I’ve had with my parent.

The situation was I live with someone else while my gecko lived with my folks. My gecko was costing money I didn’t have. Gas, electric, and the cost of lizard food. I haven’t been home to care for said gecko unless I would visit for a weekend because living with said folks is a strain on my mental health to the point where I self harm to cope. From the constant picking on my weight to the comments on my hair to the strangers that know everything about me from them to the lack of boundaries and respect for my sexuality+gender, living there is difficult. Moving the gecko to this other house immediately isn’t an option. I need consistant good funds for that.

Getting a real job hasn’t happened. I’m shifting gears and trying to put my degree to use now while still applying for these jobs on a daily. I’m doing commissions, of any kind really. I have a commission sheet up now. Please reblog if you can and help if you can. I can’t get a job at a McDonalds no matter how hard I try to convince them, I’m not sure what more I can do.

TLDR

I gave away my pet gecko due to financial instability and my parent’s complaints. Now all of us are mad that my gecko is gone and want to try buying her back at some point. I’m looking for commissions to help pay for my financial issues, uncovered student loans, and looking for anyone willing to hire an artist. Please reblog and help if you can.

🍹: Hehe~ Look at my regal little gentleman.~ Brownie makes an amazing vampire if I do say so myself. He’s been staring at me for a good 3 minutes in what I can only describe as disappointment. Why is he disappointed? Beats me-. I put it on him and he stared at me…I can tell he’s fighting from taking it off but I hope he keeps it on long enough for me to take pictures of him! I have a different costume for him too and I think it’ll make him even more regal and gentleman like.~ *giggles*

Day 71: Monday March 11, 2024 - "This was 32 months"

32 months was a memorable one - put a pin in it. It was a stand out mile marker. The one where the tantrums hit, and we soaked it all up with humor and skill. Personally, Id been ready and wondering when it would hit - all that work Ive been doing so hard on myself is work I was doing, I know now, for 32 months. Ready to be mindful intentional skillful. Ready to be free of fear and full of joy. And William provided a lot of joy. I likened it to running the rapids, which once I figured out how, began to sharpen and enjoy the skill of running right to the edge, but preventing the meltdown, in a healthy productive way. And taking every opportunity to practice and show repair. Finally, we're here and we were ready and making a big positive impact on William's future. He developed hard this month, and we loved bearing witness to it! And we were so blessed to have backup most of this month from Grandma, visiting from cold wintery Michigan. Some of the most eventful tantrums she got to witness included meltdowns over not getting his third popsicle or wanting to climb in and out of the car seat on his own. There is also the one where I caught him trying to climb into the freezer to find Ice Cream. In full disclosure - Id probably meltdown if you interrupted my perfect plan too. All perfectly reasonable explorations of the boundaries of his horizon. Totally fine with him testing and challenging. I can hold space for that. I can be his sturdy leadership.

Not only was 32 months the tantrums era, this was also William's Beyonce Era. Not sure who first put Beyonce in his brain - but fairly certain we can blame my Mom for throwing Crazy in Love on Youtube into his little 32 month brain, after sitting on the toilet looking at the A is Awesome book. B was you know who. If he falls hopelessly in love with curvy mocha colored goddess, we'll know perfectly well where it came from. At 32 months you flipped from Elmo and Abby, to Beyonce.

A lot of great weather this month and we spent a lot of time reading springtime books - Mama has been keeping us fully supplied with new seasonal books and as we flip into the 33rd month we're reading a lot of St Pats books. He's been mostly accident free, and fully potty trained and multiple times while we were out at the Donut Shop or the Taco Shop, he'd pop a squat right in the parking lot. Once, at Pacos, to get Flan, he sat feet off Speedway and watched all the cars whiz by, while whizzing in the back of Mama's car. So memorable.

These are fun times. Riding and running the rapids and I just tell myself to be present, keep showing up, and dont miss a thing. Its a wild time, but such an important time to test your skill. I really feel like we're setting a positive foundation for the next several years. I keep pouring it all in, and we'll see where it goes in the 33rd month!

Back when I was a Little Guy, if you saw something cool that someone did, on the news or in a text book, then that was it. You just had to wait for a bizarre set of circumstances until you were hiding out at a furry convention, in a borrowed skirt and fez, and you accidentally met That One Due while trying to order Tacos in a line full of neon coloured goat-bunnies and the dude in the animatronic gecko costume happened to be the brother of said person and you casually mentioned that thing that's been weighing on your mind for 12 years and they just pulled them out of thin air and they were like "lol yeah I remember that, amazeballs I wasn't murdered in my sleep by the associate professor." And then they steal your chalupa.

Which is, y'know, just how we did it back in the day.

Now, you just get on Tumblr or something and that one person stops shitposting for ten seconds to give you a thumbs up and then goes back to Frogblr.

Dew You Have a Passion for Splashin’?

Hey there, gumball eyeballs. Didn’t we just do a blog post yesterday? Yeah, we did, and you know what that means, right~?

Strap in, coz I got two flavours for you today.

Mountain Dew Baja Caribbean Splash

It’s summer, and you didn’t think the melted Rocket Pops flavour was gonna be the only one you got, did you? Nope, not only is it that time of year where they make Baja Blast available to people outside of Taco Bell’s iron grip, they also introduce a few new spins on the formula. We’ve reviewed a number of them before (now all conveniently gathered under their own tag), and here’s the first of the new set.

Hey, look at that! Something other than yellow and orange! Other colours do exist! It’s a rather lovely pink, too. Very cheery! And as usual, Mountain Dew hitting it out of the park with their label art, giving us a friendly gecko and a pufferfish with bling on this one. (Do the kids still say “bling”?) But also, we’ve drawn a half dozen or more guava fruits, just so you don’t think this is a lizard-and-fish flavoured soda. Which, while certainly a unique flavour, might not be a markering hit.

While you all debate in the comments whether it’s “Carry-BEE-an” or “Cah-RIB-ian”, let’s crack this one open for the testing~

Ooh~! That’s a strong one. That one I could smell the instant the cap was cracked, let alone got it close to my nose. That’s gonna be a tasty one for sure. The big scent with this one is... You guys ever have Crystal Lite? Like, the instant mix iced tea? They had a raspberry one, I’m pretty sure. Both Mum and Grandma would get those a lot, and this reminds me of that smell. And no, not the finished mix, this reminds me of the smell of just the instant powder you’d get a whiff of before you poured it into the pitcher and added water.

...Hmm. That’s a curious one. If this is what lizards and blowfish taste like, maybe I should start eating them. Now, I’ve never had a guava fruit to my knowledge, so I can’t really compare it to its herbaceous counterpart. But it’s good! It definitely has a “tropical punch” kind of taste, but definitely more of a “pink” flavour than the usual “orange” that entails. If that makes sense to you, excellent, because I don’t know how to be more helpful than that. Regardless of your choice of pronounciation, this tastes about as Caribbean as you might hope.

Mountain Dew Baja Passionfruit Punch

Yeah, that’s gonna be my new anime attack name. Now, we had a Baja Punch before, but this is clearly the upgraded version. And like that one, the real-life version is a darker drink than the image above implies. The one above is, like, Easter colours. The actual drink is more like that particular dark purple cleaner you see on the shelf and don’t realise isn’t black until you actually hold it up to the light. It’s still very nice, and another drink that isn’t orange or yellow is much appreciated! But it’s deceptively dark.

Compare to the last one, this one’s art suggest it tastes like birds and alligators (and possibly volcanoes). I don’t know much about passionfruit either, but it appears on the label less than the guava did. Looks like cleaner, tastes like gator... Maybe this is the Florida Man drink.

This one’s scent is not so overwhelmingly strong, and I have to really get into the bottle to even smell anything. I was almost kinda hoping it’d punch me in the nose with a big Dimetapp scent, because that’d at least be something to write about. No such luck(?) though. Continuing the comparison made with the last bottle, it’s more like the grape Kool-Aid powder mix before you add the water. I’m not sure if I’m associating it with grape just coz it’s purple, or if that’s actually valid. Let’s find out. Bottoms up!

This one’s a little weak. It’s one of those that tastes more on the swallow than the sip, you know? The kind that doesn’t start to have a flavour until it hits the back of your throat. Again, can’t really say it reminds me of anything. I’ve had as many passionfruits as I’ve had guavas (which is to say none), so can’t really compare it on that front. It’s definitely not as strong as the Caribbean Splash. In fact, that one was more of a Punch than this one. Packed more of one, too.

I guess I’d recommend this one if you’re looking for a purple drink and don’t like grape soda. Coz sadly, this one tastes nothing like grape soda. Maybe more like one of those sporty Gatorades that have names like “Alpine Rush” or “Tundra Disquiet”. Find the purple one of those and imagine it carbonated. That’s what this is~

Anyways, that’s two new Mountain Dews for you this summer! Maybe they’ll mentally take you on that tropical vacation you can’t physically afford to go on. Maybe you’ll at least win that $500 Taco Bell gift card. Though that might end in more of a porcelain cruise than a Caribbean one~
