Argh, I cannot get enough of that clown man, my obsession with clowns has its hands wrapped around his (and his og counterparts) neck

Fun idea! During the battle, players can collect temporary boosters that may either ramp up their game or be a detriment, depending on the booster. Some are stylized to each player and come in the form of snacks and drinks!

Kaufmo: Fire Crackers! "Light up the battlefield with some spicy dragons' breath!" (Part of the reason he can't speak lol cause the individual literally can breathe fire for a short while and all fire damage is increased, but the player becomes more vulnerable to fire / explosion damage themselves during that period)

Gangle: Sugar Rush Soda! "Give the enemy a Punch they won't soon forget. But be careful not to crash and burn!" (Increases a players stamina, attack power, and resistance to damage for a limited time. However, once the effect wears off, you lose stamina faster and are more susceptible to damage for a short while)

Zooble: Hob-gobblin gum! "No better way to enhance your weaponry than to leave your enemy with a sticky surprise!" (Gives her robots [or other deployable items] a temporary self-destruct feature that does devastating damage and leaves behind a field of sticky bubble gum. [This forces Zooble to sacrifice their machines, leaving themselves vulnerable])

Pomni: Spy-ce cake! "A sweet little treat to get things moving along!" (Increases movement speed, and reduces the noise you make while moving, likely the sugar rush soda, once the effect is over, you are hit with temporary slowness)

Ragatha: Medix-mix! "You're the good doctor now!" (enhances medical ability for a short time, increasing regen speed but lowers resistance to elements)

Kinger: Trap-Tac's! "Gotta stay minty!" (Decreases time it takes to set up traps but increases projectile weapon spread)

Jax: Jalapeño Poppers! "Quite the explosive surprise!" (Grant's immunity from explosive or fire damage but decrease resistance to other damage)

Queenie: Archers Apple-Pie "Ah, the taste of home..." (Increases accuracy, speed, and agility but also increases trap set up speed)

Hello! Me again!

I was wondering, do the abstracted parts of Pomni hurt others (like Kaufmo causing those glitches in Ragatha's avatar) when Pomni gets angry? or because it is partial it would just be a tingling sensation.

And I also recently read the second part of your series on ao3 and thought it was lovely that Gangle and Zooble were so quick to help.

Pomni is a strange cat, but an adorable one.

The tip of her tail having a bell makes me think of that "tic-tac" clock of the Crocodile who hunts that pirate enemy of Peter Pan.

Hello! Hope you're doing well!

I'm glad you asked this, because it's a little complicated: Because the Abstraction is partial, it does have effects on the other Circus members, but those effects vary based upon who she's interacting with. It affects her brain, but not to the extent that she's a mindless beast.

Kinger, as I've mentioned, has much more grace in terms of how much the Abstraction harms him. He's able to place a hand directly onto any corrupted areas of Pomni’s avatar and feel little pin pricks, similar to when you poke your finger (gently) with a tack. His presence calms her and she reacts similarly to Queenie, her edges smooth out and the anger isn't as noticeable - Note that the anger will never truly go away, just that it dims to a manageable level.

Ragatha rarely gets to touch Pomni like the others, but she does "accidentally" brush against Pomni when they pass each other in the halls every now and then. Her main hope when that happens is that Pomni will acknowledge her, she can apologize, then steer things into a direct conversation that lasts more than five seconds. It never works, only serves to startle Pomni (thanks to the Abstraction, Pomni’s touch aversion has become slightly worse), and when Pomni is startled, the Abstraction responds by sharpening its edges and causing glitches in whatever part of Ragatha it manages to reach. She's gone to Caine to be patched up numerous times, and at this point he's convinced she enjoys it.

Zooble has grown somewhat closer to Pomni, but they (unlike Ragatha) choose to keep to themselves and let Pomni initiate the touch. It's typically pats on the head or shoulder, and a warm sensation typically crawls up Zooble’s arm. Followed by the entire thing flying out of their body like a canon projectile. The first time it happened they both avoided each other for days.

Gangle, like Zooble, chooses to keep her distance from Pomni, but mainly due to fear. She doesn't want to know what will happen if she willingly touches Pomni (will her body start glitching? Will she catch on fire? Will she explode?!), and only deals with touches they can't control, which doesn't really hurt Gangle, just leaves her whole body feeling like it fell asleep instead of her.

Jax, the bastard as we know him, is always in Pomni’s personal space; when it started, Jax always came out of their interactions glitching and stuttering like a drunk man. As time went on, however, Pomni grew to enjoy having Jax pester her. His antics keep her distracted from the Abstraction for hours at times, so she's typically content when they touch, but does let it be known when she's not in the mood to be bothered. Her Abstraction will shoot out and almost stab Jax, sending the clear message to be left alone until Pomni cools down (and, to everyone's surprise, it works. Jax will leave her alone for a few hours to the rest of the day, then check if Pomni is still angry before upsetting her again, but in a playful way they both enjoy). So, basically they've conditioned each other to react in certain ways with the threat of pain or violence from both ends. Not a healthy friendship, but it works so no one really bothers to put an end to it.

Caine... well, he's touched Pomni ONCE, and it wasn't in the typical "HAHA! EVERYTHING IS FINE!" sort of way. Pomni had been snapping at everyone (even Kinger) for no good reason and refused to go on the adventure Caine had planned for the day. This had upset the AI (which no one knew was even possible) so much that he grabbed his cane and slammed the bottom of it against the back of Pomni’s neck, pinning her down with it and hovering above her while tutting like a disappointed parent. He ignored everyone pointing out the his cane was wildly glitching and quickly spreading to his arm, just so he could tell Pomni something that neither of them would ever reveal. After that, Pomni went limp, nodding to the best of her ability and wheezing as Caine pulled away and snapped himself back to normal. No one was allowed to comfort Pomni, and she spent the next week alone in her room.

I'm glad you enjoyed the fic! And trust me, it took a LOT of time to figure out who to use for that installment. Gangle is the nicest (notice how I said nice and not kind) right next to Kinger, and I believe she'd be too scared to actually tell Caine anything for fear that he might hurt Pomni. Zooble was a clear choice for me because they've been depicted as calm in even the scariest of situations, and they give me a sort of "I care about my friends but don't want to get overly attached" vibe mixed with "I will do whatever my friends need me to do as long as it doesn't involve hiding a body, that s[!^$&]'s gross".

And, to top it off, yes. Pomni is the strangest of cats, but she's OUR strangest of cats. That bell has kept Jax out of more trouble than he'd like to admit, makes him thank whoever listens that his avatar is a rabbit.

EPISODE CONCEPT Part 1: 'What If....?'

What if Cue was in TADC......

Ep. 1 - PILOT:

Cue attempts to make an impression on new member Pomni upon her arrival.

Whilst Caine gives Pomni a tour of the circus, Cue is shown looking through his deck of tarot cards

Cue expresses his excitement for the in-house adventure of ‘Gathering the Gloinks’, and wishes to bring Kaufmo with him to join in.

After being convinced by Ragatha to go, he accompanies Kinger and Gangle in rescuing Zooble from the Gloinks. Cue does ask her to let him know that he is waiting for him to join.

After finding the hole, Cue insists on jumping in first. Gangle expresses concern over him losing his head, after previous examples.

Throwing caution to the wind, Cue jumps down into the hole before Jax's arrival, only to lose his head on the way down the hole and have his head eaten by the Gloink Queen. He has a brief chat with Zooble inside the Queen's stomach after her head gets eaten.

His body roams around the cave as the other three interact with the Queen. At one point, Jax trips the body over.

Cue’s body retrieves his head after the Abstracted Kaufmo attacks the Gloink Queen. After putting two together, he express great concern over Ragatha, only to be hushed by Jax over ‘the sound of the escalator’

When seeing Ragatha’s glitching body dragging herself on the floor, Cue helps her up, unfazed by the glitchy effects passing over into his body. Caine quickly fixes the two up, to which Cue litts Ragatha up on her feet.

He shows hesitancy towards being friends with Pomni afterwards, sitting far away from her at the dinner table.

Ep. 2 - CANDY CANYON CHAOS:

As Ragatha checks on Pomni, Cue checks up on Ragatha, in order to make sure she was really okay with Pomni after the previous day. When Ragatha ‘clarified’ she was, Cue shrugs and walks off to the stage area.

He enthusiastically asks Caine what today's adventure was, completely ignoring Pomni's lack of enthusiasm throughout the adventure up until the tanker chase. When approaching the royal castle, the crew are offered samples of candy; Cue takes a piece and exclaims “Mmm, the slight vague sensation of peppermint!”

Despite not having the best first impression, Cue tries to save Pomni during the chase regardless, but winds up on the other tanker with her.

After the tanker clips into the terrain, Cue's head and body wind up separated again; his body ends up under the map with Pomni and Gummigoo, while his head remains on the tanker, eventually in the possession of Chad and Max.

While he can feel he's with Pomni from 'her floppy ears', he obviously can't tell where the two have wound up.

On the way to the kingdom, as a way to cheer her up over Pomni’s plight, Cue reminisces to Ragatha about their first time bonding, ensuring her that ‘she’ll get to Pomni soon enough…’

Eventually, he gets his body back after Pomni and Gummigoo re-enter the map. He thanks Pomni for 'keeping him safe', which simmered his hesitancy towards her, though something kept nagging at him to not fully drop it……

After Gummigoo gets deleted by Caine, Cue loudly exclaims “OH F[%$!#]K, I FORGOT ABOUT THAT! THAT HAPPENED TO TIC-TAC ALSO!!”, implying he had previously brought an NPC over before who suffered the same fate.

Later, he shares his words (albeit reading from cards) on Kaufmo during his funeral.

Ep. 3 - THE MYSTERY OF MILDENHALL MANOR:

As the gang are occupied in the same lounge area, Cue is shuffling through his tarot cards, mumbling about today's fortune.

Jax reveals to Pomni (amongst the others) that when holding his breath, Cue's eyes change into morphing geometric shapes (comparable to old PC screensavers).

Cue overhears the discussion and, wanting to beat his previous record, decided to hold his breath. Unbeknownst to him, he holds on long enough to miss out on participating in the new adventure Caine had set. As a result, Cue is left at the tent with Zooble and Caine, and takes part in the therapy session.

He shares Caine's curiosity of why Zooble doesn't take part in the adventures, which are, in his words, “pretty fun when you don't think about it too hard”.

This results in the two arguing; Zooble makes a comment about Cue's body and how he doesn't have to worry about it falling apart, to which he responds 'if you had my spherical think-cap, you'd want to stay here at the circus too'. Zooble responds with a befuddled ‘What?’, to which Cue replies the same.

When Zooble eventually opens up about hating their body and ‘finding the right pieces’, Cue's eyes were open towards their dilemma and went quiet for the rest of the session (Zooble takes note of this)

Cue approaches Zooble afterwards, wanting to apologize for any and all remarks he made about their body. He presents a gift to them as a further apology, hoping it would ‘help them in feeling more comfy in their body’

Though touched by the gesture, Zooble takes the opportunity to ask Cue something that bugged them for a while; why he insists on staying when nobody else does.

His response to Zooble was that ‘the others treat the place like a prison’, whilst he ‘treats it like he's home….’, before heading off to his room. Zooble stood there looking on, perturbed by Cue's answer…

I have decided that Kaufmo has a pet duck in my au

In the amazing circus their 'names' are actually just their nicknames except for caine, I don't really have an idea for their real names other than Gloria for gloink queen and obviously nick, pj and cc but I have fun story's for how some of them got their nicknames!

Gloink queen: her favourite dog is gloink and try as she might to hide it everyone knows and this nickname came along to basically make fun of her

Jax: he is a jack ass and he was called it so much it was eventually shortened to 'jass' but bubble misheard it and referred to him as jax and *no-one* wanted to correct him in fear of revealing the origin.

Pomni: her nickname was originally pom pom because of the pom poms on her costume but just like you would with a cats name there were so many silly variations of it, it eventually turned into pomni

Sun and moon: based off their personalitys, sun is outgoing and cheery and moon keeps to herself and is more calm

Zooble: they be zooted, is that the term?

Kaufmo: he once had a god awful cold that kept him off of work for a week and when he came in again whenever he was talking to someone he would just randomly start coughing and it became a running joke
