Several tech leaders have publicly withdrawn their attendance from a top industry conference in Europe next month after the summit's CEO criticized Israel in a tweet. Paddy Cosgrave, an Irish entrepreneur and the co-founder of Web Summit, an annual technology conference held in Lisbon each November, stoked outrage among his colleagues after he accused Israel of committing war crimes. "I'm shocked at the rhetoric and actions of so many Western leaders & governments, with the exception in particular of Ireland's government, who for once are doing the right thing," Cosgrave wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Friday. "War crimes are war crimes even when committed by allies, and should be called out for what they are."[...]
Prior to his tweet about war crimes, Cosgrave had previously praised the Irish government for rejecting a bid to suspend European Union aid to Palestinians before EU foreign ministers reversed the decision to cancel the assistance. Israel's ambassador to Portugal, Dor Shapira, announced Monday that his country would no longer participate in the Web Summit conference as a result of Cosgrave's "outrageous statements."[...]
Shapira said "dozens" of companies had also pulled out of the event and he encouraged more to do so.[...]
Several industry leaders have since said they will also cancel their appearances and attendances at the upcoming Web Summit conference, including Garry Tan, CEO of Y Combinator; Ori Goshen, co-CEO of AI21 Labs; Ravi Gupta, a partner at Sequoia; Keith Peiris, CEO of Tome; Adam Singolda, head of advertising company Taboola; and David Marcus, CEO of Lightspark and former PayPal chief executive.[...]
On Sunday, two days after Cosgrave accused Israel of committing war crimes, he added an addendum to his original tweet, condemning the Hamas attacks as "outrageous and disgusting." "Israel has a right to defend itself, but it does not, as I have already stated, have a right to break international law," Cosgrave wrote.[...]
A couple hours later, amid news of increasing Web Summit cancellations, however, Cosgrave appeared to double down on his original remarks. "To repeat: War crimes are war crimes even when committed by allies & should be called out for what they are," Cosgrave wrote. "I will not relent."
Cant even handle the most mild condemnation couched in #bothsides [16 Oct 23]

I've seen a few ads on youtube where it's a real person reading something that sounds like it was written by a robot. Weird diction, awkward phrasing, monotone delivery, little bits of "one weird trick" type verbiage sprinkled throughout that give the impression that you scrolled down too far on a local news website and wandered into the Outbrain or Taboola ads. I kind of wonder if this is on purpose as a way to target credulous morons specifically.
I've seen ads like this for a few unrelated things, but most recently I saw a, as far as I can tell, NON-scam ad from a solar installer trying to convince you to use the government subsidized loan program to hire them to install solar panels. But it's framed more like... (((they))) don't want you to know that you can avail yourself of a secret government program created and funded for the explicit purpose of giving you cheap solar panels.
It's like trying to market food stamps to sovereign citizens.

How to Start a Native Advertising Campaign: A Step-by-Step Guide
Native advertising is one of the most effective and subtle ways to promote your brand without disrupting the user experience. Unlike traditional ads that stand out or interrupt content, native ads blend in with the surrounding content, providing a non-intrusive experience for users while delivering impactful results for advertisers. If you’re considering launching a native advertising campaign, this guide will walk you through the essential steps for getting started, from understanding native ads to measuring success.
1. What is Native Advertising?
Native advertising refers to ads that match the look, feel, and function of the platform on which they appear. Unlike display ads or banner ads, native ads are designed to integrate seamlessly with the surrounding content, making them less disruptive and more engaging for users. They often appear in newsfeeds on social media platforms, as sponsored articles on websites, or as promoted content in a search engine results page (SERP).
Examples of native ads include sponsored posts on Instagram, promoted tweets, or recommended content on news sites like “You Might Like” suggestions. The key characteristic of native ads is that they don’t appear as traditional ads, making them less likely to be ignored or skipped by users.
2. Set Clear Goals for Your Native Advertising Campaign
Before diving into native advertising, it’s crucial to define your campaign’s goals. Native advertising can be used for a variety of objectives, and understanding your end goals will help guide your strategy. Common goals for native advertising include:
Brand Awareness: Native ads are great for introducing your brand to new audiences in a non-disruptive way.
Lead Generation: Drive potential customers to sign up for newsletters, download eBooks, or fill out contact forms.
Traffic Generation: Direct users to your website or landing pages.
Sales Conversions: Encourage purchases by showcasing products in a native ad format.
Having a clear goal will help you design your native ad to meet specific objectives and choose the right platform to maximize your ROI.
3. Understand Your Target Audience
Like any advertising campaign, targeting the right audience is essential for success in native advertising. You must understand who your ideal customers are and where they spend their time online. Define your target audience based on key demographics, such as:
Age, gender, and location: These basic details help you narrow down the audience you’re targeting.
Interests and behaviors: Understanding your audience’s interests and online behaviors allows you to create content that resonates with them.
Pain points: Tailor your native ads to address specific challenges or needs that your products or services solve.
By defining your audience, you can better craft native ads that appeal to their interests and are more likely to generate engagement.
4. Choose the Right Platform for Your Native Ads
Native ads can appear on a variety of platforms, each with its unique audience and format. The key is to select the platform that best aligns with your business objectives and audience. Here are some common platforms for native advertising:
Social Media Platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn): Social media platforms allow you to create native ads that blend seamlessly with users’ content feeds. You can target users based on demographics, interests, and behaviors, which helps you reach the right audience.
Content Discovery Platforms (Taboola, Outbrain): These platforms distribute native ads as recommended articles or blog posts on publisher websites. If your goal is to increase website traffic or build brand awareness, content discovery platforms can be highly effective.
News Websites and Blogs: Many news websites offer sponsored content placements. These ads appear as articles or blog posts and can be a great way to promote your content or products while educating and engaging your audience.
Search Engines (Google Ads): Google offers native ads in the form of promoted search results or recommended content in Google Discover. If your goal is to increase visibility for your brand, this can be a powerful tool.
Choose a platform that suits your campaign goals, whether you’re aiming for traffic, lead generation, or brand awareness.
5. Create High-Quality, Relevant Content
For native advertising to be effective, the content must be highly relevant, valuable, and seamlessly integrate with the surrounding content. Here are tips for creating compelling native ads:
Provide Value: Your ad should provide something useful to the reader, whether it’s a solution to a problem, industry insights, or educational content. Focus on creating high-quality content that enhances the user’s experience.
Be Subtle: While native ads should align with the content around them, it’s important to be transparent. Include labels like “sponsored” or “promoted” to ensure users know they’re engaging with paid content.
Strong Visuals: Use attention-grabbing images or videos that complement your content and enhance user engagement.
Clear Call to Action (CTA): Ensure your CTA is clear and compelling. Whether it’s “Learn More,” “Read Now,” or “Shop Today,” your CTA should guide users on what to do next.
6. Set a Budget and Bidding Strategy
While native advertising can be more affordable than traditional display ads, it’s important to set a budget that aligns with your goals. Native advertising platforms often offer flexible budgeting options, allowing you to control your ad spend.
You can choose to pay for native ads based on several bidding models, such as:
Cost-per-Click (CPC): Pay each time someone clicks on your native ad.
Cost-per-Impression (CPM): Pay per thousand impressions of your native ad.
Cost-per-Action (CPA): Pay only when a user completes a specific action, such as filling out a form or making a purchase.
Setting a budget and selecting a bidding strategy will help ensure that your campaign stays within your financial limits while still reaching your desired audience.
7. Track and Analyze Performance
Tracking the performance of your native ads is essential to understanding whether your campaign is meeting its objectives. Use platform analytics and tools like Google Analytics to measure key metrics, such as:
Click-through rate (CTR): This shows how many users clicked on your ad after seeing it.
Conversion rate: This tracks how many users took the desired action, such as making a purchase or filling out a form.
Engagement metrics: Metrics like time spent on your content, shares, and comments show how engaging your ad is.
Analyzing these metrics will help you understand what’s working and where you need to make adjustments to optimize your campaign.
8. Optimize Your Campaigns
Native advertising isn’t a one-time effort—it’s an ongoing process that requires optimization. Based on the performance data, you can:
Refine your content: Test different headlines, images, and CTAs to see what resonates best with your audience.
Adjust your targeting: Use the data from your campaigns to refine your audience segments, ensuring you’re reaching the most relevant users.
Increase your budget: If a particular platform or ad is performing well, consider increasing your budget to maximize results.
Conclusion
Native advertising offers small businesses and marketers a unique opportunity to promote their products or services in a way that feels organic and unobtrusive. By setting clear goals, understanding your target audience, choosing the right platform, creating valuable content, and tracking performance, you can launch successful native advertising campaigns that drive results. Remember that native advertising is an ongoing process, so continue to test and optimize for maximum impact.

Drake reportedly paid $350,000 to a woman who accused him of sexual assaultin 2017, during the British leg of his Boy Meets World tour.
In November last year, the hip hop star settled a lawsuit with Laquana Morris, who also goes by the name Layla Lace. He filed against Morris for civil extortion, fraud, emotional distress, abuse of process and defamation.
Drake admitted to having consensual sex with Morris while at a hotel in Manchester, England, in February 2017, but denied all allegations of non-consensual sex.
According to the suit, Morris claimed she booked a flight to see Drake soon after they slept together, but became angry when she did not receive a response and cancelled the flight. Drake ceased communications with her.
The suit alleged that Morris also claimed Drake raped her and that she demanded money from him, even after Manchester police cleared him of any allegations of sexual assault.
After she allegedly refused to do a paternity test, Drake claimed Morris changed the story to accuse him of sexual assault and said her claims were a hoax designed to extort money from him.

In her complaint, Morris describes what allegedly happened after she and Drake went back to his hotel room following his Manchester concert.
Morris is reportedly aggrieved that the November 2018 settlement with Drake included a statement that she now claims portrayed him as the victim in the situation. She also claims that her attorney worked with Drake’s lawyer against her best interests.

On-Page SEO: Optimize your titles, meta descriptions, headers, and content. Make sure your website loads fast and is mobile-friendly.
Quality Content: Write engaging, informative content that answers your audience’s questions. Google loves content that keeps users on the page.
Start a Blog
Blogging isn’t dead. It’s a powerful way to drive traffic if done right.
Post Regularly: Consistency is key. Post new content regularly to keep your audience engaged and coming back.
Guest Blogging: Write for other popular blogs in your niche. Include a link back to your site. This not only drives traffic but also builds your credibility.
Leverage Email Marketing
Email marketing is still one of the most effective ways to drive traffic.
Build an Email List: Offer something valuable like a free e-book or a discount in exchange for email sign-ups.
Regular Newsletters: Send regular updates with links to your new content, products, or services.
Engage in Forums and Communities
Find where your audience hangs out online and engage with them.
Niche Forums: Participate in discussions and provide value. Include a link to your website in your signature or profile.
Q&A Sites: Answer questions on sites like Quora or Reddit. Ensure your answers are helpful and link back to relevant content on your site.
Use Influencer Marketing
Even if you don’t have social media, influencers do. They can help you reach your target audience.
Collaborate with Influencers: Offer influencers in your niche something of value in exchange for promoting your site.
Take Advantage of Content Syndication
Content syndication can help you reach a larger audience.
Syndicate Your Content: Share your blog posts or articles on platforms like Medium or LinkedIn.
Invest in Paid Advertising
If you have a budget, paid advertising can give you a quick boost.
Google Ads: Create targeted ads to drive traffic directly to your website.
Native Advertising: Platforms like Outbrain or Taboola can help you reach a wider audience through sponsored content.
