Tabitha stiffened as his thumb stroked at her cheek. He didn't seem to care that she was upset, and maybe that made sense. She was going to try and plea, try to get out of it anyway, but it was going to be a lot tougher to get out of it. You'll do? Tabitha didn't know what she was doing, she didn't know how she was meant to help him.

She whimpered softly as he tugged her along, sniffling quietly, a little wince. "I don't know how to h-help you.." But maybe he wanted that. Tabitha didn't know, how could she?

He wasn't moved by her tears, at least not in the way she probably hoped. Magnus let out a low sound, almost like a hum on contemplation as his thumb caught a tear that broke free and slipped down her cheek. Her attempt at speaking had his intense gaze flashing to hers as he waited to see if she'd plead for her life or swear on her very soul to do whatever he wanted if he'd let her live. He'd seen and heard it all, it never mattered in the end, he got what he wanted, sated his desires and kept his little sacrifices until they no longer served a purpose for him. "You'll do. Let's go." Magnus didn't care what she had to say as he grabbed for the rope that was tied around her wrists to pull her along behind him as he began to walk back to his lair.

Welp, finished first 4 chapters of Scarlet Hollow. Wish the book also updated for chapter 4, it may have motivated me to post screenshots.

Anyways, played as Mystic/Keen Eye because I figured it would let me gather the most amount of information. Didn't expect both of these options to also coat almost literally every interaction I had. I enjoyed the game and its humor. I'm sure it's not too surprising to say it gave me The Magnus Archive vibes.

Some important decisions i want to make a note of:

-Duke fucking died because I chose to save the dog. no regrets.

-Eventually fed peanuts to the mayor. No regrets.

-Invited everyone possible to the ghost thing. Got the achievement and everything.

-Gave away like 10 years of my life to an angry ghost. No regrets.

-Went for a romance with Stella. Some regrets. She's cool but she kind of already ditched me a couple of times in arguably dangerous situations and I have to wonder if she's the so called cat.

-Tranquilized Reese. Some regrets. I don't mind the whole monster thing but didn't want to sacrifice the Doc for that.

-Supported the strike. Will continue to support it. I try to build a good relationship with Tabitha but not at the cost of, you know, human rights.

-I think I managed to stay in good terms with everyone. Generally avoided confrontational conversations unless I very strongly believed it. Even with Wayne, surprisingly.

It was fun. I'm considering doing a second run as a more stoic character, maybe cynical, just to see how different the experience truly gets.

Hello all. This is the intro post for Those Beholden To Us, a Fanthology of our own making. It follows the story of the former head archivist of the Magnus Institute. One Monroe Murphy, as they travel with their partner Tabitha Baker.

To explain in greater detail we wish to make this a collaborative effort among the fandom. It is structured in a way similar to the show, where Monroe reads statements while events happen in the background. As of the time of this post, we have uploaded the first two chapters of the Fanfiction.

What we ask of all of you, is to submit any statements you’ve written to be included in the Fanfiction. You will be credited by username/name and make sure to include those in the email. If you wish to remain anonymous in your submission that is also fine.

If you’re submission is accepted it will be included in the story, Monroe will read the statement and react to it, with it cementing itself within Those Beholden to Us.

It is our hope that this will be a fun exercise for fans of the Magnus Archives. Our ask box is open as well for any questions. Remember in the face of our fears to be brave… but also be kind.

I remember thinking about it in passing when I first saw her - the hair and the clothes especially - but I figured that was just the usual vaguely-reminiscent thing that happens with past blorbos. Now I'm wondering if I wasn't on to something!

i have never played a silents hill and abby has only watched the beginning of a silent hill 2 playthrough. we also watched the sean bean movie ages ago but that's pretty much the only silents hill we've consumed.

i had not actually listened to the magnus archives until about a month ago (abby can listen to podcasts while she works and i can't. she's the one who suggested we reach out to jonny about slay the princess) so any naming overlap between tma + slay the princess stuff is purely coincidental

in hindsight i deeply regret naming that one route the stranger, but alas, it is descriptive to what she is.

playing a modified "kids on broomsticks" module that's been altered to be eldritch horror interdimensional highschool with a sprinkling of the Magnus Archives in terms of vibes. We have had at least five or six sessions so far (I can't count) and have only JUST finished our first day at school. Here is everything major that has happened on just that day. Chukfi (me) snuck his pet snake into the school, befriended the entity that IS the school, failed to get the ability that his peers got that allows them to move things with their minds but got the ability to immediately know what an item that he touches is made up of in terms of chemical compounds and structures, which is a really confusing power for a strength build character to have but we'll see how that goes, befriended the guy who hosts the school radio, befriended this girl Mary and has a slight crush on her, almost got in a fight with the STEMS (group of bullies), re-enacted the assassination of Caesar, bit the claw off a Mi-Go, demanded a truly heart felt apology from Niles (one of the eldritch entities who runs the school). Viktor kept getting bullied by the school's entity until they realised the school wasn't really bullying them but was trying to get them to realise that the scar on their face was created by HELLFIRE and may or may not very definitely has had their parents involved in a cult that even the school is afraid of. Adarna found out her mother got kidnapped and then found out her mother is alive but no one knows where she is; this is her first day of ever attending any school and being outside of her mother's continuously moving campsite as an archeologist, befriended the history teacher who is a dog. Tabitha found out her brain has a parasite that can alter her perception of reality and now runs the risk of loosing her mind while also being a risk to the safety of the school and literally everyone (including the eldritch entities) within it. Yelled at the superintended and principal, this girl is genuinely kind of terrifying ngl. Mary absolute nerd and adorable, got the ability to control micro-organisms and made a puddle of yogurt into a little dude and had him do the macarena, found a dead body and smuggled it into the biology room's fridge (somehow), got to ride on a tardigrade, got bullied by the STEMS, kinda has a crush on Chukfi. Of course the nerd and the jock are crushing on each other lol.
