Ok so lately I've been reindulging myself in the interests i had in late middle school/early hs and I've come back to storytime animators i used to watch when they were at their peak in 2015-2017. No ones gonna read this but here are my thoughts on all the ones i revisited

Jaiden Animations - the animation style has definitely improved with the help of her team and i like how her videos are now 10+ minutes. She's kinda turned more into a gaming channel which doesn't really interest me but i wouldn't say that's bad by any means it's just that her content is a little more niche in that regard. I think the way she shares her opinions flows better and feels more natural than the other ones that just jump from topic to topic without closing off the previous one.

TheOdd1sOut - i remember really disliking his art style when i was 15 and i still kinda do. Sorry. Unlike other animators his target audience didn't age as he did and id say his content primarily appeals to middle schoolers. Not saying it's bad- nothing wrong with staying in what you know makes you succeed. I personally find his stories boring now and i think his videos could be supplemented by more sophisticated animation, but meh what do i know. His stuff just doesn't appeal to me and that's ok

Tabbes - i actually didn't watch much of her growing up mainly bc she cursed a lot and i thought id go to hell if i watched her videos. Watching some now- she's really funny and i love how she conveys her personality through her words and art. I do like her art style and the way she draws expressions and so on. However she does jump into a blaccent often when she tries to sound aggressive or pissed off which really throws it off for me. I would like her content much more if she didnt constantly throw out aave and a blaccent whenever she wants to convey an aggressive attitude

SomethingElseYT: hoooooly shit. Talk about upgrade. I remember watching him in 2015 and thinking he was just a generic jaiden wannabe clone and he's cringe and unentertaining and evidently trying to piggyback off of jaidens success by collabing with her.... And well... Am i completely wrong? It's very obvious that he only grew a following so quickly bc he collabed with big names like Jaiden and theodd1sout. Viable strat. But NOW? Holy shit. The animation quality has skyrocketed, fully colored, smooth, visually engaging animation and art style is craaaazy. Like im so in shock of how much his videos have improved. It seems that he had a team briefly but now does pretty much everything by himself which is suuper impressive. I'm a big fan of how he keeps things interesting on the visual front. His storytelling is also decent but he does this awkward gag where he pretends he doesn't know what to say/do and just breathes into the mic for 30 seconds before proceeding the rest of the story. Imo it's not really funny i dont think anyone would be interested to hear you go "um ... uh ... ermmm...." for a full minute bc you think that's comedic timing but whatever. From all the 4 that i religiously watched in middle school imo he's the one that improved tbe most

hux....really is not a fan of the spotlight. he’s got public social media and all, but he uses it at roughly the same rate as harry styles. if it wasn’t for the fact that he regularly shows up in paparazzi pics alongside actual famous people, people would honestly probably forget that he exists

he’s the kind of guy who can get along with pretty much anyone if he chooses to. he’s got normal people friends, and he’s got famous people friends. he’s got actor friends, he’s got rapper friends.

sO his “”scandal”“ is pretty straightforward. yea, he’s a youtuber and yea he doesn’t show his face. i don’t. really know how that much got out? i’ll figure it out. but the media knows he’s on the creative side of youtube, but they don’t know what his channel is or what exact community he belongs in

his channel name is handdrawnhuck, he’s hovering close to a million subs, and he’s one of those animated storytime channels? you’ve seen theodd1sout and jaiden animations before, i know you have, he’s like that

except i think his style is more of a cross between tabbes and the sea rabbit, with his art style being more sea rabbit-y

pretty much the only people who know he’s got this channel and the two are connected. he’s got animator friends, but he hasn’t told any of them who he actually is and at this point, he’s kind of scared to

he just really doesn’t wanna have the davenport advantage ( there are a  people who work way harder and are way better at what they do than he is, and having bigger numbers just because of his name seems unfair to him ) or the drama that comes with it. he just wants to make his stupid little cartoons and have a good time, is that too much to ask

so hopefully that made sense, but if anyone needs anything cleared up and any more info on anything, feel free to ask and i’ll do my best to explain! i’m working on getting together a list of connections, but in the meantime i’m totally up to just brainstorm some plots!
