Die Nacht beschert uns angenehme 21 Grad. Unser Körper kommt nicht einmal auf die Idee zu frieren und so starten wir gut ausgeschlafen in den Tag. Wir werden zu früher Stunde direkt im Garten abgefangen und auf einen Kaffee mit Marmeladenbrot eingeladen. Wir nehmen dankend an und plaudern noch einmal ein wenig mit dem Ehepaar, bis wir schließlich aus der Einfahrt rollen. Die letzten Kilometer wollen genommen werden. Die ruhige Straße nutzen wir und starten noch einmal eine Folge der drei ???. Während diese an ihrem kniffligen Fall arbeiten, arbeiten wir an den letzten Höhenmetern der Tour. Knapp 300m geht es auf einsamen Waldstraßen nach oben. Zum Glück bietet der Morgen wieder viel Schatten. Die Abfahrt ist herrlich. Bald schon treffen wir auf das Ortsschild von Kosice. Beziehungsweise auf viele Ortsschilder hintereinander. Wir unerfahrenen Touris wissen gar nicht, vor welchem wir jetzt genau posieren sollen.

In Kosice checken wir in unserem gebuchten Hostel ein. Dieses ist spartanisch eingerichtet, bietet aber alles, was wir brauchen. Dann geht es auf Entdeckertour. Wir werden Zeuge von gleich 4 Hochzeiten (eine Kapelle + Kirche steht im Stadtzentrum). Mieke bewertet die Brautkleider. Ich bewerte das Auftreten der Fotografen. In einer Mall kauft sich Mieke eine Packung Ibuprofen. Die Tabletten sehen aber aus wie LSD. Naja, bei den nächsten Kopfschmerzen wird sich herausstellen, in welche Richtung die Dinger wirken.

Mittags steigen wir in einem Café ab, das in einem Bücherladen beheimatet ist. Die Bedienung ist angenehm verpeilt und legt gute Musik auf. Der Kosice Vibe kommt langsam bei uns an. Ganz allgemein ist die Stadt genau unser Ding. Riesige Fußgängerzonen, alte Gebäude, so gut wie keine Touris und entspannte Menschen sind eine hervorragende Mischung. Abends gehen wir chinesisch Essen und stoßen auf Miekes hervorragende Bachelorarbeit an. Noch später am Abend steigen wir in der 'Tabacka Kulturfabrik' ab, geniale Location mit Live-Musik und geräumigem Innenhof. Hier trifft sich vor allem die Studentenszene, aber auch ein paar Familien mit Kindern sitzen zusammen. Wilde Mischung.

Wir sind froh, dass auch diese Tour ohne größere Zwischenfälle geglückt ist. Unser Bild, das wir von der Slowakei hatten, ist um ein gutes Stück reicher geworden. Morgen geht es mit dem Zug zurück in die Hauptstadt. Danke fürs Verfolgen des Fahrradblogs und erneut herzlichen Dank für die Rückmeldungen während unserer Reise.

1. Auf Fahrradtouren redet Mieke verhältnismäßig oft über ihre Oberschenkel.

2. Wenn du in einer Stadt vergeblich nach Postkarten suchst, weißt du, dass Touristen rar gesät sind.

3. Lieber drei Ortsschilder als kein Ortsschild.

>> INTERVIEW In “parallel situation” dance meets photography in real time. The stage production is a performative examination which poses questions regarding the creation of images and the relationship between beholder and subject. From reconstructing historical dance photography to live documentation on the streets, artists Barbara Lubich (photography) and Anna Till (dance) deal with the power of captured moments. “parallel situation” is an intense dialogue between a dancer and a photographer. The photographs are taken in the very moment of the performance and immediately projected on stage. Two larger-than-life screens are part of te set design and refer to the two standard dimensions often used in photography: one screen positioned upright, refering to “portait”, the other one horizontal, refering to “landscape”.  Both artists are present on stage and interact in a playful way with each other as well as with the objects on stage (various materials that are used in photography industry). Within this direct confrontation of the performed dance and the capturing of itself, Lubich and Till point to the the power of images and reveal the process of picture taking - questions about the possibilties of memory and perspective arise. In this way, “parallel situation” also opens up the view on how movement emerges and vanishes, so does remembrance. Sound and image are directly linked. In this way, “Parallel Situation” explores how the athmosphere of memories inscribes itself in images. The gaze of the photographer acts as the third performer and guides the audiences perception. What do you see - and what is invisible to the spectators? Text - written by authour Ulrike Feibig - opens up a new level of imagination: While the performers increasingly retreat from the audience’s view during the performance, the spectators are drawn into their own imaginative world.

Barbara Lubich has been working as a filmmaker at the intersection between documentary and artfilm since 2002. Born in 1977 in Trento, Italy, she studied sociology in Trento and Dresden(Germany), received her doctorate in history in Frankfurt am Main and dealt with an entanglementof theory and practice of aesthetic phenomena in the GDR. Her artistic work began in the late 1990sin dance, while further developing her work own work with the camera. So by today she focuses onthe direction of conceptual work for cinematic / multi-media formats. From 2006 she worked as a camerawoman for the Forsythe Company, and simultaneously as aresearch assistant at the Institute for Sociology at the TU Dresden University, on a Europeanresearch project regarding cultural heritage/ cultural memory. She was a fellow of the HellerauerAkademie für experimentelles Musiktheater (2009-2010), and in 2010 she was Artist in Residenceat the UBU Gallery New York. Together with Michael Sommermeyer she founded hechtfilm filmproduction company forindependent filmmaking in 2011, and has directed and released two feature-length documentaries to German cinemas, while working as artistic director and curator of numerous interdisciplinaryprojects. She is also a founding member of the art and cultural collective friedrichstadtZentral, and currently Zentralwerk (Dresden 2013 Award, ARRAS 2019 Award).

// Anna Till, dancer choreographer, b. 1983, Germany, lives and works in Dresden. She studied „Dance, Context, Choreography“ at Inter-University Centre of Dance Berlin and „Cultural Theory“ at Unversity Lüneburg. Her own and collaborative choreographic works were presented at Berlin (Sophiensaele, Akademie der Künste), Düsseldorf (tanzhaus NRW), Leipzig (Schaubühne Lindenfels, LOFFT), Dresden (European Centre of the Arts - HELLERAU, Motorenhalle), Košice (Tabacka Kulturfabrik, Kasarne Kulturpark), Prague (PONEC Theatre), Florence (Festival Fabbrica Europa), Israel (Room Dances Festival Tel Aviv/ Jerusalem), Santiago de Chile (NAVE), Marrakesh (On Marche International Dance Festival) and Maputo (KINANI International Dance Platform) - amongst others. Musical dread and melancholy are pretty easy to come by if you are actively listening for it; but I’m trying to think of a sound that’s comparable to The Body’s take on those particular meta-tones, and the only thing that readily comes to mind is…that new iPhone commercial with the lady at the hairdresser laughing incessantly. The audio doesn’t really compare, of course, but the ad itself manages to inspire that same terrible feeling of hopelessness that can only be resolved by Slip N’ Slide during summer time. (It’s impossible to retain a frown on a thoroughly lubricated trip down one of those things!) Can the Slip N’ Slide bring joy to YOUR life, even if you’re inclined to commiserate with The Body’s Uniform collaboration or non-collaborative album from last year, though? Only one way to find out: check out Lee Buford and Chip King’s full anatomical presence when they go on tour beginning in July. That’s when the favored European leg starts, and prior collaborators Full of Hell and Thrill Jockey label mate, Black To Comm, will be making appearances at various shows along the way. BEASTS is a disturbance in your perception. Something is rotten in your field of vision. There is something you can not deal with, something unsettling and uncanny.

BEASTS is an atmospheric performance built on a recognizable yet enigmatic symbolic language. In a bleak, white landscape, two figures move delicately and precisely, hanging laundry in a sustained exactness. The exactitude of the movement leads the audience to question their perception and to find familiarity in this unknown field of images.

Beasts was developed by Inga Aleknaviciute, Ann Mirjam Vaikla, and Lærke Grøntved at the Norwegian Theatre Academy in 2015. At Tabacka Kulturfabrik it was performed by Katrine Leth Nielsen and Lærke Grøntved.
