Can I request headcanons for Dark Urge, Geraldus, Wyll, Halsin, Gale, and Astarion reacting to shy GN s/o who always asks for permission even just to hold hands or a kiss on the cheek please?

Dark Urge, Geraldus, Wyll, Halsin, Gale, and Astarion (Sep) reacting to shy Tav who always asks for permission even just to hold hands or a kiss on the cheek

Dark Urge (redeeming)

Towards the beginning of the relationship they do not really understand why Tav asks for permission

Would initially think that Tav is afraid they would hurt them

For the Dark Urge their whole life was to take anything and everything they wanted

As time goes on and Dark Urge starts to learn from / heal from their past trauma they find Tav asking for permission to be extremely sweet and understanding

Dark Urge has never truly got to experience someone who truly loves them for who they are 

Tav’s requests for permission and their shyness would be a constant reminder that love and affection don’t have to come from a place of control or dominance

“Thank you Tav, you have shown me more love and understanding than any other soul that exists.”

Geraldus

Not sure how Tav and Geraldus even got themselves in a relationship

Geraldus, himself is on the shy side

However, when he is not blushing and mumbling out his own request for affection, his mind is fired listening to Tav ask for it

Geraldus would never say no to Tav

To him Tav is higher than the Gods, they are perfection

“Why would you ask me such a thing dear… I cannot get enough of you”

“Do you think I would ever turn down a kiss from you?”

Wyll

Total sweetheart about it

Wyll finds this to be among the most endearing things about his Tav

At heart Wyll is a true, traditional romantic, and what is more than romantic than the love of their life looking at you and asking for your love and affection

Wyll is another one to hardly ever deny Tav’s request

“You never have to ask, my dear. But I understand that you want to feel comfortable—let me know how I can make this easier for you.”

Halsin (!Halsin Backstory Spoilers!)

Halsin’s eyes are so full of love anytime he hears Tavs sweet voice ask for him

While is was long ago, Halsin appreciate Tav asking permission before they jump him with kisses and cuddles

From time to time Halsin gets in his head about that time he was used as a pleasure servant

As wild as Halsin is, he is still a mortal with a mortal mind

If Tav hesitated, he’d hold out his hand gently or give Tav a soft kiss on the forehead

“My heart, you are true perfection”

Gale

Gale wants to be wanted, especially by Tav

Gale, who is intelligent and often a bit formal in his mannerisms, would understand Tav’s need for permission but wants nothing more than to hold Tav

He believes in the power of trust and would reassure Tav that there’s nothing to fear from him

“Ah, my dear, I appreciate your thoughtfulness, but there’s no need for permission in matters of the heart.” (Sush Gale we all know you want them to keep asking because you love it so much)

Astarion

Astarion would be the most conflicted in terms of his reaction. On one hand, he would deeply appreciate that Tav’s respect boundaries and asks for permission, as he is someone who has a very sensitive relationship with consent. 

However, because of his own traumatic past, his reaction might come across as more self-deprecating or sarcastic at first.

He’d try to tease Tav about it, making light of the situation with his usual charm and wit, but underneath his sarcasm, there’s a genuine desire to make you feel comfortable. 

He would be keen to show you that he’d never force anything on you and might even go out of his way to be overly considerate, so you know that you are always in control of the situation.

“You don’t need to ask, darling... but I suppose I do enjoy the thought of you wanting to be sure.”

Thinking a bit about the way the default tiefling vestigial wings look in BG3 (this is specifically thinking about the design aesthetics in that game, your mileage may vary for D&D - you know how things go to have a character creator in a video game.)

I think of them as being a fully developed subcutaneous limb, it is still attached to skin and cannot move fully freely in there, but like feeling the bones in the palm your hand move as you spread or flex it, they can move similarly underneath. As tieflings have diverse heritages, the number of limbs and the exact configuration of things varies individual to individual.

Often wings are reduced to just two digits, but they can have more, with only the 'thumb' spike claw expressed (this is keratin, but like tiefling claws is generally self-sharpening* and only needs minimal maintenance). Often they develop such that they are folded with that spike pointed downward and the wing spread over the shoulder blade - but any rotation or closed or open configuration is possible. Wings may also be partially or fully detached and able to move more freely, although it is less common (these are still quite small and definitely useless for flight.)

It is possible that if something forms particularly twisted, surgical intervention could be needed to prevent future pain (from as little as freeing a tendon to as much as full removal).

Within Tav's family that has many tieflings, some members consider the orientation of the wings to be related to personality. Some of Tav's family members describe her as "born with her wings on upside-down" and attribute her stubbornness and peculiar nature to it or at least being related to it (this is, of course, not true, but you know how some aunties love their astrology.)

Karlach's wings can still move a little, but between the scar tissue and the vents they don't move as much as they used to.

*I have a whole series of thoughts on that too, we'll get there.

Decided to finally give my tav a Tav-Dex page! Hopefully I'll eventually make comics of him showing off the lore I made of him but until then here's his info!

Hi could i request, Gale and a tav elf sorceress, gale doesn't like sorceresses because he sees them as not real magic users and I was wondering what a relationship between the two of them would be like

Gale x Elf! Sorcerer! tav 

Most of his ‘dislike’ would stim from the fact that he himself had to work extremely hard day in and day out to achieve the level of magic he does have

Seeing it come so naturally to a sorcerer would really intimidate him

Like, he knows that he is (was) Mystras chosen but he worked so hard while Tav can just do it

When meeting Tav at first, he wanted to demonstrate his abilities to show them he can/is just as good as them. He is THE Gale of Waterdeep, dammit.

Despite the rocky start, Gale and Tav would bond over magic.

Gale may even start suggesting that she “hone” her magic more, recommending she study particular books, or trying to analyze how her spells work. In return, she introduces him to a more carefree, intuitive side of magic, encouraging him to let go of his rigid rules every so often. 

By the end, Gale may still jest about her being a “wild magic user,” but it’s said with a wink and a smile. He no longer sees sorcery as inferior, but rather as an important facet of the magical world. He comes to understand that there is no one way to wield magic—it’s about finding the path that works best for the individual. They share a bond that, while rooted in their differing magical practices, is ultimately about mutual respect, trust, and love.

In the Upper City Temple District of Baulder's Gate, on a cool and rainy day, a Selûnite monk finds a peaceful respite in his travel to the city at the Monastery of Helm, where he meets with the head monk of physical training (one of the leaders of the monastery) and one of his best pupils (and often assistant when she is not out wandering.) The monastery itself, a bustling enclave full of practitioners, students, and visitors, still has an aura of familiar, peaceful introspection about it, and their meeting over tea (a mild floral brew grown at the monastery itself) and snacks (small seed cakes and thin, crispy cookies also made there) is hopefully productive in whatever errand he has been sent for.

Farrow, a human man - is so in-tune to the flow of Ki in the world, that it overlays his vision in bright lines highlighting all living things (and many nonliving as well.) He blinds himself to the physical world so as to prevent migraines and confusion from the painful influx of information*. Zatavia (Tav), a tiefling woman, had been doing some training and teaching with other monks, but joins this meeting at her mentor's request, as he seems to put some good faith in her judgement and insight as well (even if she, herself is a little odd, darting away from eye contact, tail twitching (not in irritation) as they talk.)

Hector and Tav are interesting - both open-palm monks who take a lot of pride in the place they are from and where they learned to be who they are, and yet they couldn't have more different life experiences. Hector has lived his life almost entirely in a single place - ensconcing himself in study and practice. Tav, with an urban childhood, after years of monastic training, wanders the world, enjoying experience and freedom as she accomplishes various tasks for her monastery far from home. Tav is singularly a monk, Hector (eventually) branches his skills. Hector's faith and relationship to Selûne help inform his thoughts and action. Tav's extremely dim view Helm only provides her with an affirmed sense of self as her natural inclination is for fairness (she is far more chaotic good than lawful neutral - as is, quite honestly, the current thrust of her monastery. They're very 'one has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws' and are much more into the protection aspect of the god.)

I think, perhaps, in this time-out-of-time scenario, they may have a lot to talk about. Hector Carlisle is @blackjackkent's 'Tav', and you can read a full rundown of his run here (he's also a Karlach romance <3)
