I feel highschool au! hal would be that one really funny class clown who everyone like and probably pick fights with the teacher's but the most depress person at home

no but yeah he definitely picked fights with teachers, his anti-authoritarian streak has been there since day 1! it’s a wonder he ever joined the military + green lantern corp, he’s always picking fights with them too lmao

i can also see class clown! so much of his social life depends on performance, and we all know what his home life was like, so he’d probably try to keep that as separate as possible by acting like everything was okay. i can see him being surrounded by a lot of ppl but preferring to be alone at the end of the day

i feel like the class clownery was more prevalent in the early years, freshman trying to make an impression type of deal. over time, i think he would tone it down once he’s made a name for himself and become the popular kid. i’m also thinking abt the times when he was young and would skip school to watch the planes fly or avoid homework by playing with his toy planes; it makes me think that he’s self-sustaining in a way, so his performance act could just be newbie nerves

another interesting thing to consider is that this would be around the time jack left for college, but it’s possible that he was a senior when hal started highschool. it would be so frustrating to be in his brother’s shadow (“jordan, jordan… oh, you’re jack’s brother, aren’t you?”), i can imagine that this would add to his rebelliousness and attempts to stand out in whatever way that manifests. class clown, for one

imo senior hal is a lot more laidback than freshman hal, he’s just annoying in different ways lol

Hello! Studio Anon here, after a good while! I think I checked this blog… a day or two before the season finale of HH got leaked? Or that one leak when Sir Pentious died came out- I know he’s actually dead now (or like… redeemed?? What’s going on-) but I’m genuinely confused on what’s happening- St. Peter is white, blonde, and blue-eyed??? Sir Pentious and Cherri had a SA ‘joke’?????? Adam dies??????? You got interviewed by a reporter about the leaks??? Lucifer and Lilith are T4T (that is so gonna get ruined)????? Sorry, there’s so much happening- is it alright if you could summarize it for me?

In other news, I recently found out two of my cousins watched HH, and they’re pretty confused about it (I mean, one of them had to ask me to explain Who Even Are these characters even if they watched it more than I did), and one of my friends almost watched it but I intervened on that-… I don’t even know, man. I’ve seen HH all over my recommended (I don’t even watch any critique videos on HB anymore, I just wanna watch something mindless and fun), I’ve seen people watch HH in my campus, I’m just… man. I don’t like thinking that Viv-obsessed lunatics could be around me physically, it’s weird.

In other news, I feel I could try and redesign some of the crew out of spite. There’s way too many characters and they’re all so weirdly designed (both under and over designed tbh) and I just. I’m sorry I can’t ever take it seriously.

I hope you and everyone else had been alright through all the suffering! I’ve been skirting away from all that Viv stuff but I do like popping back in once in a while. i just wanted to let you know that i started kicking my feet in joy when i saw this ask

despite that, my 1st thought was “no” LMAO i’ve been reading tBatB and forgot that he’s like a 90s baby now. and lps were invented in ‘92, so the timeline matches up!

the question is just if he’d WANT to play with them, and i think my new answer would be… kinda? a lot of barry’s interests were introduced to him by his mom which they bonded over together; comics, sci-fi, those were the things that stuck with him. toys like lps naturally ask for creativity, and barry strikes me as less of the imaginative type when it comes to roleplay/storytelling. dgmw, he’s absolutely creative, but that’s mostly for things he’s already interested in, plus his creativity comes more in the form of problem-solving. barry just feels like the kind of kid that’d prefer reading abt superheroes than playing them

but kids roleplay to process/explore their curiosities, and you’ve seen how my baby barry would “play detective” and “make science potions.” and i tend to portray him as a reserved, introverted kid, so a lot of these roleplay games would be solo. it’s a recipe for playing w lps, but the thing that keeps tripping me up is that he’d grow up with the kenner era, and those things were just animals. the lps most ppl think of didn’t come out until he would be 15, and by then, he’d have outgrown toys in general (rip barry you would’ve loved the special edition 2009 comic con cat 😔)

personally, i think barry got lps as a gift once (maybe from his dad, i imagine he’d try to bond with barry too but they didn’t rly connect as much as with his mom bc he initially just went for whatever was in the girls’ aisle rather than inviting him into his own interests as well-meaning but oblivious dads tend to do). barry probably would’ve reacted as he would for anything that wasn’t related to his interests: politely indifferent. maybe he’d try to incorporate them into stuff he already liked bc he’d feel bad abt letting them go to waste, but it was never abt the lps themselves. if he had action figures, they’d be the action figure’s pets, yk? but i think lps could be a bit nostalgic for him, and when he’d come across the hasbro rebrand of 2005, he’d look at them the way we look at gen 3 lps now lmao

idea for my t4t halbarry au: a big part of hal’s self-journey is understanding what’s true to herself and letting go of the things she was holding onto in the past. visually, i want this to be represented in his personal choices, especially things that are actually within his control like hair and clothes. but i don’t want hal to lose the jacket bc that’s such a core part of his identity (not to mention design recognizability), and i’ve said before that being bigender to hal is abt what could be MORE, always building on TOP of smth rather than replacing what was already there
