2. Did you reread anything? What?
I reread 14 books for sure, with two additional ones (DDF - Flammende Spur & Tauchgang ins Ungewisse) I'm not entirely sure. Among the 14 are the Hunger Games trilogy, Tintenblut & Tintentod, two Rocky Beach Crimes and two or three Alex Delaware novels.
17. Did any books surprise you with how good they were?
Quite a lot actually! I got a book titled "Drag Cop" for my birthday that I expected to be... mostly trashy tbh, but it was really lovely! Neither the German title (the original title is "The Adventures of Isabel", much better!) nor the cover are doing it justice/any favors tbh. "Carrie" and "Bullet Train" also surprised me (bc I hated what I tried of King before, and I wasn't sure "Bullet Train" would live up to the movie's hype), and so did Klaus Mann's "Mephisto" and Juli Zeh's "Leere Herzen" (both extremely interesting and well-writen studies of society).
24. Did you DNF anything? Why?
Three books: Allan Ginsberg's "Collected Poems 1947-1980", Eva Völler's "Helle Tage, Dunkle Schuld" & Natsuo Kirino's "Real World" (org. title: Riaru Wārudo) - the Ginsberg poems were simply too massive a book, I can't read poetry for that long, and I didn't really vibe with the style of the other two. In case of Kirino it may have something to do with the translation, but they both simply didn't catch me, so I put them aside 🤷♂️
