Alright, proper introductory/pinned post, I suppose.

Sup. I'm Nerb. The weirdest G/t fan this side of the internet. Asexual, he/him, and single.

I'm a fiction writer (Pretty good if I do say so myself) and an artist (not quite as good), so expect some of that here. Just... don't expect the art to be anything like some of the stellar work I see around here (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!). Either way, I'll probably post some writing here soon, even if it's just a link to a Google Doc.

Considering opening commissions, but we will see.

Now, despite being into the cute wholesome "omg ur so little" community, I've got a bunch of other interests, some being... not so wholesome.

For the wholesome ones, I like Lego, insects, TTRPGs (D&D for those not in the loop. DM but also enjoy being a player), and some more casual games like Minecraft.

As for the less innocent, I play plenty of more violent video games (Rimworld, Project Zomboid, TF2, Fallout, ect.), and have a dream job of working in small arms repair. As in fixing guns, not tiny prosthetics (Although that would be cute).

DMs are open if you wanna ever chat, I don't really RP much anymore but when I do, it's advanced lit/paragraph format stuff. G/t wise it's whatever for me (small, tall, either way) but I don't want a swarm of tinies/tiny-leaning shifters swarming me. I also work night shift through the week, so expect some screwed up schedules on my end. Chat or RP, I don't do sexual stuff. Like, at all. Please keep that away from me.

I'm very organized, structured and thorough at work. Colleagues and friends also say that I'm very reliable and don't let people down. I also like to think that I'm fairly chill and friendly/open with just about anyone, though I admit that that can be a bit superficial. 🎮 — favorite video game(s)? Project Zomboid, The Last Of Us games, especially Part 2, Detroit Become Human, RDR2, Subnautica also fun and relaxing games such as ATS or Firewatch, recently played It Takes Two with a friend and also adored that game. I either love storydriven games or post apocalyptic sandbox games. I got almost 1k hours of Project Zomboid lmfao 🍝 — favorite food(s)? It's like each year I got a new favorite boring type of self-made soup as a favorite. Last year it was pumpkin soup, this year it's tomato soup, I LOOOVE all types of green salads and eat like 5 bowls of them a week, sweet potatoes are my latest hype, be that as chips, fries or god knows what else I can make out of them. Also cliché German who loves a great kebab 🎶 — favorite song at the moment? Worst is on its way by Korn, but actually the big remix with HEALTH and the like. I'm usually not really one for hip hop and so forth but this mashup's such a fucking baaaanger and I love how dark it sounds. Stuck on repeat ever since it came out and makes me go feral on the dancefloor at my local goth club haha. Can't believe I've been a Korn fan for over 20 years. 🧶 — any non-writing hobbies/interests? MOVIES, all the movies and tv shows and obv filmmaking, with it being my job. Also reading and listening to podcasts, watching a crapload of documentaries and information videos on youtube about stuff that interests me (morbidly enough that's engineering disasters both in architecture, with airplanes and ships, but also darker psychology stuff), I'm super interested in abandoned stuff and urban exploration, gaming's obv also a big one, and I like to keep informed on latest developments in consumer electronics and PC building, lovecraftian mythology is obv a big one lately, but also some economics/financial sector stuff or nature and 'how it's made' documentaries, just a whole variety of things I keep myself stuffed with on youtube and Spotify 😗 — what are some of your favorite things to do when you have some time to yourself?

The neat part is that I'm a very independent sort of 'loner' person since I have no interest in romantic relationships or marriage whatsoever, so I mostly have time to myself if I'm not working or consciously hanging out with friends and I know how to use that me time well. Ever since I started on my weight loss journey last year I've come to really enjoy doing sporty things such as swimming countless laps each week at a pool, or religiously running 5k every week if the weather allows it, have even started going to a gym every once in a while, and in the summer doing lots of cycling and inline skating and paddling on the lake. Being active has just honestly become such fun for me. Also like I said before I do love a good read or audio book, I also love looking at my game concept art books or doing puzzles (I'll literally sit for hours and finish a 1k puzzle in one go), then obv writing stories and RPing, gaming, I also picked up French on Duolingo to refresh my old school lessons, so lemme tell you, my 'me time' schedule is always full. I also love to go to my local goth club and dance til I can't walk anymore every now and then. Though I do go to the movies/parties/brunches and what not with friends a lot to, I also like to do it on my own every now and then! I do recommend spending more time with yourself and not making your entire existence absolutely depended on the company of other people 24/7, it can be really insightful, relaxing and refreshing!

YouTube Recap 2024

I guess its that time again where recaps are gonna start showing up.

For some reason the only recap YT pushed to me was music recap and I had to seek out gaming recap. Just looking at the summary, its pretty evident I watch nothing but vtubers especially Holostars. If I'm not watching streams, I watch anime and I watch the news occassionally. Because in my podcast section, I have PhilDeFranco as my top podcast which is a news and current events channel. Then RottenMango (a crime podcast), CinnamonToastKen (reaction content) & Best In Jest (comedy podcast).

Youtube Music Recap:

I mainly listen to karaoke streams and I do have a playlist of songs I listen to. And obviously, most of it are by vtubers. Though there are non vtuber in there.

During Eurovision 2024, I was obsessed with a couple of songs including Doomsday Blues by Bambie Thug (Ireland) and Dizzy by Olly Alexander (United Kingdom). I was already a fan of Olly Alexander so I not only played Dizzy repeatedly but his other songs too with Years and Years. I know Dadi Freyr didn't compete in Eurovision this year, but ever since he did, I've become a fan.

It was funny seeing NSYNC in there, since I only listened to their discography because of the movie Deadpool and Wolverine. At the time, I also listened to other 90s song but I guess of it were by NSYNC.

I discovered ライトのスターボーイ(light's starboy / light_starboy) during VCR Rust. He was part of Roberu's team and just fell in love with the song he composed for the event. He got such a good singing voice I ended up listening to a couple of his covers a lot.

Honestly, whatever Lane 8 / This Never Happened cooked up this year. I spent too much time listening to mixes and not enough time paying attention to what was actually playing.

Deep Woods with Pretty Pink was awesome, but Lane 8's season mixes played on repeat this year from start to finish. You could just throw any of these on and you've got instant 2-3 hours of deep house, trance. I'm listening to Fall 2022 right now.

Foxtails on Audiotree is awesome too. It's wild the vocals coming out of that girl.

Andor and Queen's Gambit. Without a dobut. Vox Machina is so so so good, but those two shows are on a different level.

Also to note: TV was really, really good this year. Half Bad, Power Rings, Dragon House, Yellowjackets, Arcane, Cyberpunk, Midnight Club, Eps 4 7 8 of Curiositiy Cabinents, Stranger Things 4, End is Nye, Prehistoric Planet, White Lotus, Severance, 1899, Wednesday, Maisel 4, Fleabag 2. I really don't think I watched much anything I didn't like other than that Salt Fat Acid garbage.

Voice actors from Vox Machina. I'm so stoked for s2 coming up here next week.

+ VIDEO GAME

Another year of Dead By Daylight. I can't get away from this game.

Project Zomboid and 7 Days To Die are both stellar. It reminds me of the Minecraft/Terraria split from 2010. WOTLK was generally a lot of fun, but I think it's more than just playing resto shaman is a blast. Cycle Frontier was cool af and the only reason I quit is because of how cracked the players are at it. But DBD. D. B. D. I think I'm at like 1,850 hours in it.

Still going through Wheel of Time. I'm at book 9. They are not mindblowing anymore and I'm getting bored of the constant gender distrust themes, but they are absolutely epics.

M FUCKING BPAPPE. I haven't seen a soccer game as exciting as that world cup final in years.

I stopped eating out as much this year and instead tried making the food I'd order because budget. Pad Thai, Enchiladas, Lasagna, Chicken Parmesan, Ragu, Soups, Roasts, etc.

The best thing I made over and over this year was Biba's Ragu though. It's dumb how easy it is for how good it is.

Also onions. No matter what you're making, if you add onion to it then it will be better. Spaghetti, eggs, potatoes, ramen, sandwich, burger, salad, pizza, chicken, soup, noodles, rice, beans, etc. ADD ONIONS.

I went nowhere this year.

+ MOMENT

Probably quitting and getting the fuck out of my mismanaged firm. God damn that was liberating af. Two other attorneys peaced the fuck out right after me too.

+ BIGGEST LETDOWN

Losing Luigi was horrible.

The new Odesza and Flume albums were trash.

Blowing my ankles out in late Feburary sucked because I was starting to really get going with running in a good way.

Clerks 3 had such a brilliant concept to go full circle, but instead it just degrading into  clunky fan service, old references, and cameos.
