   ⌦ A HAND RESTED upon his own chest. Eyes were wide with shock, slowly processing the moment he entered this world -- he died -- and came back. It was an odd sensation, but welcoming. The brief moments he rested in the afterlife, all he remembered was a familiar voice before awakening.                 "Shadow?" 

        Collecting himself, the black hedgehog examined the world around him. This . . . absolutely looked like a video game. It didn't have that same energy as one, however. It felt off, yet he couldn't place a finger on it. The ultima kept his distance from this Joshua person. A stranger who had been bothering Pomni and wanting her out because it wasn't safe (which, understandably so); though he had an itch of something. He knew something about Pomni that the hedgehog did not. Wanting to return her to her own home, to a place not even the jester remembered. Shadow had to play dumb to get the information he desired. Even though he recently had Pomni enter his life, some part of him did not want her to go. 

           "You believe in miracles? You're shit out of luck if that's the case," He responded, now resting his arms across his chest. What a gruff exterior the hedgehog had; especially with someone being so short. He had one idea; it's how he got here. The rings. Though, he had to play this carefully. Who knew if this guy was going to use their idea to break into the multiverse. Someone . . . somewhere within it, a white hedgehog would have a fit. 

          "Do you even know how she ended up here?"

Schemes of the old Main Characters!

At the height of Disgaea 7's popularity, one particular Overlord wasn't too thrilled. Once again, he had been snubbed from the starring role! He was the 1st Main Character, how dare they ignore him!

So, as always, it was time to fall back on his most infamous scheme...take the Main Character role by force But this time, Laharl would need some help. Which is why Laharl was in the depths of Evil Academy...

"Tch...normally I wouldn't give you the time of day, Mao, but the time has come for drastic measures! I need your 'help' getting rid of the cast of Disgaea 7! Or at least that fool Fuji so I can take the Main Character spot! In return I'll...uh...I dunno, I guess you can experiment on Fuji for whatever you want. Give him drill arms or whatever." Not that Laharl cared what happened to him, anyhow. And of course Laharl wasn't gonna offer the spotlight to Mao either, he didn't wanna share!

“I’m home!” The blonde called out while opening the door to the Hanamura house. With the weather slowly becoming hotter and hotter, him and other first-years wondered why they haven’t switched to the Summer uniforms yet. He still wore the black Yasogami jacket that he decorated with his iconic rose. The brown book bag he carried was a hand-me-down from Yosuke.

His head turned towards the living room and found someone he hasn’t seen in months. The college-bound brunette was only visible to him in video calls and photographs now. Merely seeing him in the flesh for one second empowered the blonde with a jolt of energy that made him drop his book bag and rush towards his brother as soon as he could.

“YOSUKE! You’re back!” He was running so fast that it looked like an oncoming tackle. It was the Teddie Rush & Hug technique! Yosuke was held in place by loving arms he couldn’t fight off.

“I thought you were coming back tomorrow morning!”

I suffer a lil bit with chronic fatigue and it's kind of...awkward? I don't always have the energy to be like, happy go lucky...but I'm not like depressive all the time either. People ask me shit at work or whatever and it's like...sometimes I ain't thinking or doing much. Some days my life is kinda boring, despite how smart and worldly that I seem. idk there's just a bit of health that I feel like physically transitioning is, and will help with, worth waiting for.

Also, almost every soda that enters the house is sugar free. It started with a teeth thing and now I'm thankful for it with my weight stuff going on; restaurant/fast food coke is like a special treat.

She rolled her eyes. The moment had come and gone; whatever it takes to not have to make physical contact again was fine by her. Pomni would do what she had to for answers - for an escape from this Japan... her mind started running like clockwork with thoughts.

Well, at least I'm not alone anymore .. and have a better idea of the situation at least. But I wonder who could possibly be above someone in their own domain? A world existing in-between reality, and the wrong choice could leave to completely dying. That ... wasn't a scary thought whatsoever.

The jester's eyes had begun to spin in spirals around in her musings. It was like being on a merry-go-round ride and the switch stopped working, causing the speed to increase and increase, holding on for dear life until it flings you off like a rag doll. It was a lot to unpack - then she realized Joshua was motioning her with his body and words to follow. Guess this is where their partnership begins.

Her hands were held and rubbed together, causing mild friction in her toying; words then registered in her ears, pulling her to look towards the other man.

⸺ ❝ I .. don't think I've had that before. There's places to eat here? ❞ Color her surprised.

"Pomni." He repeated - then a couple more times. Gotta' get good at names. But that name will be in his head. "Thanks for giving me a name. Or else I would have to call you something else just as dumb."

He snickered softly before taking his hand back. Not there yet. Got it. The hopelessness wasn't all there yet. But! Joshua was making sure he was controlling this situation. He had to make sure she didn't fall into all that madness. Just to give subtle hints of her situation. But in truth. .... ... He did want Pomni to leave. He wanted her gone. But - something about her presence gave him... A sense of JOY. A joy that someone was HERE. But he also deeply had a sense of 'but she doesn't belong here, she can't be here. She will DIE.' All these thoughts rang around in Joshua's head. The need for SOMEONE. The NEED for INTERACTION. He never fit in one society yet he fits perfectly with this life he has now. But here Pomni was in a lack of a society and with him.

"Walk with me. Stay close." He placed his hands back in his pockets and began to walk a bit in front of her before looking back at her. "I will leave you if you don't keep up. We have to get going. Then! We can grab something to eat. I'm really craving for some Shoyu Ramen right about now. How 'bout you?"
