🌌The Window🌌
Click for higher resolution 🚀 Drabble underneath the cut.
It was beginning to pick up at the bar Lore was sitting at. The night was still relatively young, but that didn’t cool the growing unease marinating in his mind. He was expecting someone, someone who was growing increasingly late each passing minute. Right as he was considering ending this little outing, a large lumbering bartender comes over to give him a glass of champagne.
Raising an eyebrow, he was about to claim that he didn’t order anything before the bartender speaks in a gruff tone, “You look tense. Relax. It’s on the house.” Lore’s eyes follow the bartender as they get called to the other end of the bar to address some other patrons before turning back to his drink.
Taking a sip, he could immediately recognize it as cheap alcoholic swill. No wonder it was given to him for free. With a frown, he rolls his eyes and gets up from the bar glass in hand. A large group of drunken fools move towards the bar, revealing a giant window showing a stunning view of the violet and indigo galactic clouds swirled around in the cold, vast space outside.
Trading places with the group, he strides over to the window and debates if he should bother drinking the rest of the carbonated liquid before leaving. Taking one last look towards the entrance, he finally sees the sight he’d been waiting for all evening.
At the same time, his angel stands just a few feet inside the front door, scanning the dimly lit bar for her synthetic lover. Her face lights up as soon as her eyes land on his pale form. She approaches him, a soft smile on her lips. Lore’s expression matches her own when she draws near, deciding that maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to stay out just a little bit longer.

“…but I wouldn’t advise taking a sip.”
Melira scowled at the Phyrexian priest rooted in place in the middle of the spring. Oil dripped from its many hands, into the water bubbling up at the base of its roots.
“This spring is perfectly safe to drink from, for Phyrexians. As such, it could easily be made safe for you as well…?”
Behind Melira, the planeswalker strike team tensed in anticipation of a fight. But the Mirran held out a hand to stop them; the priest had not yet attacked.
“Even if you refuse my offer, I shall not fight you. Or, at least, I shall not start one.”
Melira looked to the metallic forest surrounding the spring. Spiked, lumbering shapes drifted into and out of view in the distance.
“All right…let’s go. It can’t move, so it’ll fall prey to something soon enough.”
A screeching, metallic laughter echoed through the clearing. The priest spread its many arms, gesturing grandly to the incompleat before speaking.
“I tend to the spring. Vital work. There is not a Phyrexian in the Maze who would attack me, beast or otherwise.”
“Are you sure? Vorinclex is always prattling on about natural selection, predator and prey and all that-”
“Vorinclex is a proud fool!” snarled the priest, anger suddenly seeping into its synthetic voice. “He refuses to admit the Maze is home to more than just hunters, so he blusters otherwise. Just as well, as none of the other spheres would ever deign to visit the Maze to confirm or deny his ramblings!”
Melira took a step back, startled by the outburst. “I just thought Vorinclex was…We should go.”
The priest sighed. “A wise choice. The noise from my outburst undoubtedly attracted attention.”
Melira nodded. As she and the rest of the strike team departed, the priest reached out to them one final time.
“My offer still stands.”
Melira pointed to her arms, free of any metal. “Wouldn’t work for me, even if I wanted to accept. Besides, I bet it tastes terrible.”
“Only to those with an unrefined palate,” chuckled the priest.
Tumblr media
[I know Vorinclex is always on about the Maze being majority predators or whatever. But I feel like that wouldn’t work out logistically, at least not in the long term.]

HELLUVA BOSS: SPRING STELLA CHARM
After a long hiatus, I finally decided to come back to Tumblr and start to post again! Here we have a new addition to my store - a spring-themed wooden Stella charm!
This charm is made out of synthetic cherry wood; synthetic wood is an eco-friendly alternative to natural wood, as it is made out of wood scraps left behind in lumber during the cutting process, bound together using thermoplastic resin. Not only is it more eco-friendly, it's easier on the budget too!
The charm is larger than my other charms, as I began to see a normal 2.5in charm too small, so this new charm (and new ones in the future) are going to be roughly 3in in length!
Along with the new material and size, attached to the charm will be a specialty golden rose clasp - the perfect flower for our Swan Queen. Purchase this charm today to have this lovely beauty travel with you as you both go on everyday adventures. :)
DISCLAIMER: As this charm is made out of synthetic wood, it is less durable than acrylic, so please be careful when carrying around the keychain. Try to avoid getting water on the charm, as the ink is directly on top of the wood. Additionally, I hand attached the clasp myself, so try not to tug the clasp too hard in case it breaks off!
Charm Details (summary):
3in. Synthetic Cherry Wood Single-Sided Printing (ink is placed on top of the wood) High Quality and Vibrant Art Specialty Golden Rose Clasp
If you're looking to purchase the charm, please click the link below this message. Thank you so much for your support, and rock on! <3

Revolutionising Construction: The Power of Hemp as a Sustainable Building Material
Tumblr media
Introduction: A Return to Hemp
The need for sustainable building materials has never been more pressing, and the answer may lie in an ancient plant: hemp. This versatile crop, cultivated for over 10,000 years, is making a comeback in modern construction due to its exceptional properties and environmental benefits.
The Environmental and Economic Advantages of Hemp
Hemp offers a promising alternative to traditional timber-based materials. According to research conducted by Dewey & Merrill (Bulletin #404, United States Dept. of Agriculture, 1916), one acre of hemp produces as much cellulose fibre pulp as 4.1 acres of trees. This makes hemp a highly efficient source of material for pressed boards and particle boards, as well as concrete construction moulds. Moreover, hemp cultivation requires less water and fewer pesticides than traditional crops, adding to its environmental appeal.
Superior Strength and Flexibility: Hemp vs. Wood
In addition to its environmental advantages, hemp also outperforms wood in terms of strength and flexibility. Between 1991-1993, William B. Conde of Conde's Redwood Lumber, Inc., in collaboration with Washington State University, demonstrated that hemp composite building materials surpass wood fibre in these key areas, even when used in load-bearing applications like beams. The economic implications of this are significant, offering the potential for cheaper, more resilient buildings.
Isochanvre: The Mineralising Power of Hemp
Tumblr media
One particularly intriguing application of hemp in construction is the creation of isochanvre, a material made from hemp hurds mixed with lime. This unique substance petrifies over time, turning into a mineral state that can last for centuries. A testament to its longevity, archaeologists have discovered a bridge in southern France, built during the Merovingian period (500-751 A.D.), using this process.
Hemp in Carpeting: A Strong, Healthier Choice
Hemp also has a long history in carpet manufacturing, where its strong, rot-resistant fibres provide an ideal backing material. Today, hemp carpeting offers a compelling alternative to synthetic materials, which release toxic fumes when burned and can trigger allergic reactions.
Plumbing with Hemp: A Renewable Solution
Even in areas as unexpected as plumbing, hemp presents a viable alternative. Plastic plumbing pipes, traditionally made from non-renewable coal or petroleum-based feedstocks, can be manufactured using renewable hemp cellulose. This not only reduces our dependence on fossil fuels but also contributes to a circular economy.
Envisioning a Future Built on Hemp
As we face the urgent challenges of climate change and resource scarcity, the potential of hemp as a sustainable building material is more relevant than ever. From the walls and beams of our homes to the carpets underfoot and the pipes beneath our streets, hemp offers a way to build, plumb, paint, and furnish our world sustainably. It's time to reimagine our future, built not on dwindling resources, but on the world's number-one renewable resource - hemp.

What Is the Best Way to Lay Artificial Grass?
If you want to have an easy-to-maintain outdoor space, improve the appearance of your home or business property, or make your garden more appealing, fake grass can assist. It looks nice and is versatile. If you want to buy artificial grass rolls, check out Artificial Grass GB.
Important Points for Artificial Grass Installation
Tumblr media
A successful and durable installation will be ensured by taking these factors into account:
1. Prep Up the Space:
Prior to installing artificial turf, start by getting rid of any existing flora, trash, and any pebbles or roots that might get in the way. To provide the installation a level and even base, level the area.
2. Employ A Weed Membrane:
Covering the prepared area with a weed membrane can aid with drainage and stop weed growth, keeping your artificial grass free of unsightly plants and water logging.
3. Selecting the Proper Artificial Grass:
A variety of grass alternatives are available from Artificial Grass GB to accommodate different needs and tastes. Take into account elements like pile height, colour, and texture to locate the ideal fit for your area.
4. Make a Layout Plan:
Taking into account any bends, corners, or obstructions, measure and draw the area. By doing this step, you can minimize waste and determine how much synthetic grass is needed.
How to Lay Artificial Turf
Step 1: Dig up the current lawn:
Take out the current grass and dig down to a depth of 75 mm less than the desired end height. Certain gardens can be built up to 75mm in height by just removing the current grass, which would remove about 30 to 40mm, depending on the levels already in place. This step will be considerably easier if you have a turf cutter, which you can get from your local tool rental store.
Tumblr media
Step 2: Put in the Edging:
You will need to install a retaining edge if your grass does not already have a wall or hard border around it. Brick or block paving, steel edging, plastic lumber, timber sleepers, or treated wood can all be used for this. Wherever possible, we advise utilizing treated timber edging because it's ideal for fixing grass. Using a club or sledgehammer, drive wooden stakes into the ground before screwing in the timber edging.
Step 3: Put in Weed Membrane:
Install weed membrane across the lawn, making sure to overlap the borders so weeds cannot grow between the pieces. This will stop weeds from sprouting through your lawn. To keep the membrane in place, use galvanized U-pins. It's suggested to apply weedkiller to the area beforehand if your current lawn or garden is very prone to weeds.
Step 4: Install the 50mm Sub-Base:
You can use MOT Type 1 for the sub-base, or if you have poor drainage in your garden, we suggest using 10–12mm granite chippings. Till the aggregate is about 50 mm deep, rake and level it. It's crucial to make sure the sub-base is well compacted using a vibrating plate compactor, which you can get from a nearby tool rental business.
Step 5: Place a 25mm Laying Course:
Rake and level around 25 mm of granite dust right on top of the sub-base for the laying course. The laying course needs to be leveled to the top of the timber if you're using wood edging. Once more, make sure to use a vibrating plate compactor to compact this completely. In order to keep the dust down and aid in the aggregate's binding together, we advise misting the granite dust with water prior to doing this.
Step 6: Install an extra weed membrane:
It's advised to add an additional layer of weed barrier right before you lay the grass. This will assist shield your artificial grass's underside and provide further defense against weeds. To make sure weeds cannot get in between two sections, overlap the edges, just like you did with the first layer of weed membrane. Trim any surplus membrane before pinning it to the edging or as near as feasible. Making sure the membrane is flat is crucial since any ripples could show through your artificial grass.
It's advised against installing this extra membrane layer if your artificial grass will be used by a dog or other pet because it may collect unpleasant urine odours.
Step 7: Spread Out Your Synthetic Grass:
At this stage, your artificial grass may be quite hefty depending on its size, so you'll probably need some assistance. As this is usually the greatest side to watch the grass from, try to arrange the grass so that the pile direction faces your house or the main perspective. Make sure the pile orientation is facing the same direction on both rolls of grass if you have two. Make sure the grass on your artificial turf is smooth before trimming it, and let it a few hours to adjust.
Step 8: Cut to Size:
Now, carefully follow the boundary edge to achieve a snug fit as you cut the grass to the desired form using a sharp knife. Blades can dull very rapidly, so be careful to have a large supply of spares. If you're using timber edging, use galvanized nails to secure the boundary perimeter. If you're using steel, brick, or sleeper edging, use galvanized U-pins.
Step 9: Lock down any joints:
The joints shouldn't be noticeable if done properly. First, arrange the two grass blades so that they are parallel to one another and facing the same direction in the pile. Refold both grass blades approximately 300 mm to expose the latex backing. Remove three stitches from every blade of grass, taking care to cut in a straight line. Next, place every fragment flat once again and ensure that the borders of the two grass pieces align. A constant spacing of 1-2 mm is required. After ensuring that both sections are positioned correctly, fold the grass over once more to expose the latex backing.
After that, insert the glue onto the joining tape and roll it out between the two grass lengths. Make sure the grass fibres do not come into touch with the glue or become buried as you carefully return each piece of grass to its original position. Carefully walk along the joint to make sure there is good contact between the adhesive and the grass. Lastly, give the adhesive enough time to dry.
