@responsive_parenting Posted @withrepost • @synergy.gentle.parenting I have been hesitant to share this because of all the educators we hold dear; teaching the children of the world with respectful authority and compassion. You have infinite value and are often unappreciated. I'd like to sincerely thank you for the work you do, on behalf of humanity. 🌱 Sadly there are some educators who do great harm. Daily. It is difficult to address because more often than not children keep it quiet fearing further chastisement for speaking out. A lot of parents have been conditioned to agree with disrespectful 'discipline'. 🌱 So we speak out for those who cannot. 🌱 It is entirely possible to teach, communicate and correct children without hurting them. 🌱 Children deserve compassion and respect, as much as any adult. In fact, children need more. When our children ”trigger” those feelings within, our ego mistakes our children as a threat, and we may lash out and attack them, instead of turning inward and recognizing the opportunity to heal, to evolve. -Blimie Heller, @unconditional_parenting I'd like to add: Perspective is Powerful. When we see our child’s behavior as separate to their personality AND recognize behavior as a developmental bid for connection or cry for help, THEN we are free to be curious, calm, confident, compassionate, conscious and connected. When we aren't triggered into worrying about how our child’s behaviour reflects on us or determines who our child will become, and when we believe that we are enough and our child will mature, THEN we can focus on what we both feel and need to do better.
