LOKI: Quiet fellow but very tech savvy. (He winks and claps Casey's shoulder.) Now, over here, we have Ouroboros. We like to call him OB.

OB: That's my nickname!

LOKI: He's the mastermind behind this whole place and everything in it. Would out-engineer Stark's little toys any day!

OB:

LOKI: Verity!

LOKI: Thor, this the very first person I met. New leader of the TVA and best there is. Real trooper, this one. Although, we did have a rather rough start...

VERITY: I punched him in slow-motion.

THOR: Oo ... Pray, do you have a recording of it?

LOKI: ANYWAY! I'm surprised she's here today, but allow me to introduce you to the one and only: Sylvie!

SYLVIE: Loki.

THOR: (eyes narrowing, observing her strikingly familiar clothes) You look ... rather similar.

LOKI: That's because she's me and I'm her, except we're not exactly the same, in fact there are some key differences...

SYLVIE: I have common sense, for one.

LOKI: Long story short, it's all very complicated, we fought, we got close, we fought again--

SYLVIE: --He's like a stray. Can't get rid of him.

LOKI: Think my tongue is sharp? Watch out for this one's.

Loki looks across the way to where Mobius stands, hands in his pockets and an indulgent smile on his face. Loki clears his throat as he approaches, his feet slowing as they draw near. He opens his mouth, but Thor beats him to it.

THOR: And you must be Mobius.

MOBIUS: That's the name I answer to.

THOR: My brother has told me much of you.

MOBIUS: Only good things, I hope.

THOR: Nothing but.

I just want to reflect how much the Loki show ruined Loki as a character for me and how much disheartened I was with it.

I had always wanted a spinoff on him, which explored him more. And the Loki show did anything but that.

Do you guys remember how Loki was in Infinity War for like 5 minutes, yet Tom Hiddleston was at almost every media interaction the cast had? The same thing happened in the show as well. They used him to market the show, then sidelined him in his own show. I think that was unacceptable, because they used Loki as a bait to promote a character that I held no emotions for.

Sylvie.

The argument that one does not like Sylvie because they “hate a strong female character/a character with complex arcs” is so pathetic. I don’t think I would’ve liked Sylvie even if she had the most elaborate arc in the MCU (which she doesn’t) because it just wasn’t meant to be about her.

I wanted to see Loki’s story, his journey, and if you take this moment to interject with the statement that “she’s Loki too, just different”, then I say that I wanted to see our Loki, the one who was broken when he found out that he was the monster parents told their children about at night, the one who had plethora of iconic dialogues while fighting the avengers, who was killed only for us to realize that he wasn’t.

Everytime I said that we needed a Loki spinoff before it was announced was not because I wanted new characters, it was because I wanted to see more of the character that was already there, very much beloved by the fans. I wanted them to explore his character in a deeper sense and maybe dip a little into mythology as well.

I think Loki was one of those characters that neither needed a love interest nor was ready for one. I don’t ship him with either Sylvie or Mobius, because it feels like neither of them genuinely like Loki for who he is.

Loki had far more compelling things they could have explored like his jotun heritage, his trauma from the time with Thanos and his magic that is the only memory he has of Frigga instead of his love life.

The whole show felt like it was written by someone who wasn’t the least bit interested in Loki and barely looked into him before creating his female counterpart.

It feels like a disrespect for the fans who were connected to Loki on an emotional level.

Why am I saying this now, after like 2 years since the show came out?

I don’t know, after hearing the news about season 2 releasing in October, I just feel so upset. Tired. I hate this show much because it made Loki so irrelevant to me. A sidepiece in his own show. He went around in ugly costumes and all the regal vibes I had from him just disappeared.

I still remember a time when Loki was on the top of my favorite characters, and I loved him so much. I still do, but I’m not sure if I’ll watch the 2nd season and my 13 y/o self would hate me for this.

I’ve gotten detached from his character and I hate myself for it because Loki was someone whom I adored more than anything else in the fandom world.

Loki is that one character who is loved by the fanon but absolutely despised by the canon.

If Marvel has a heart the series will end with Mobius and Loki driving together a jet ski, laughing and teasing each other but clearly in love, and then the camera will move to Sylvie, watching from a distance, someone next to her we don't see yet.

And she tells them, "You see? I wasn't lying"

And the camera shows this other person and it's our Thor (audience goes OMG), teared up but with a smile on his face saying, "You weren't. He really is happy"

I don’t think I’ve ever seen it but can we talk about how Loki goes into a very different Blind Rage than what people think of when the word is used

Like, I’m writing a fic and realized something about how Loki tends to react and lash out. It’s a blind rage, he’s not hitting or attacking anyone (maybe objects like when he learned Frigga died) but he gets so into his anger he doesn’t realize what’s going on around him until he’s done with his destruction or his yelling and breaks down.

It happens in the vault, Loki still has care for Odin but the man is fully collapsing struggling to talk/breathe and Loki can’t get out of his own feelings the whole time until Odin is knocked out by the end of his tirade. It happens, mostly offscreen, when Frigga dies and he trashes his cell until he’s just exhausted against the wall. If you want to include it, that fight in Stark Tower with Thor where he freezes up when Thor tells him to look at the destruction he’s causing could be another example. (Which I only somewhat do in my mind bc he was still influenced by the Mind Stone but that was probably leveraging his hurt and anger, hence the minor counting to this observation)

When he gets angry that fire has to burn itself out before he comes to and takes in what’s been happening around him.

i feel bad about it but "he killed eighty people in two days" in The Avengers just doesn't seem like that high a number to me? it'd be high for a normal person, but in supervillainy terms that's... a bit crap, really isn't it?
