So, I am still kinda working with what I know so far in the story. My goals for the two characters are this: Sylvia and Karlach are going to be the romance for the I guess "main" storyline of my playthrough. Aylin's twin sister Thetia will be romanced with Shadowheart, a romance I am quite looking forward to as they are both completely opposites of each other even in their faith and often even have arguments about them in the beginning of their time together. Now to give you some backstory on my characters, or at least what I've gotten in my head so far. Keep in mind, this is most likely going to change as I play throughout the game. Thetia is the daughter of the moon goddess Selûne. She takes place in her role as The Shield of the Moonmaiden, and co-exists with her sister who is known as The Sword. Much can be said about the two, but what is known from is the bond they had was unbreakable. This changed when the two became separated. As Dame Aylin was caught under the curse of the Nightsong, so too did a curse fall upon Thetia. Shar sought to anger her sister, and to do so she cursed one of her children and trapped the other. She cursed the Amulet of Selûne she wore to that of a curse. She was stripped of her immortality, as well as her armor being stripped of its color and appeared as black and grey. The curse also removed the ability for Thetia to be in contact with her mother, and so she was left in her solitude. But the one most humiliating thing that was bestowed as part of the curse was the loss of her whiteish blonde hair, and replaced by black hair. Shar felt it fitting to leave behind 2 silver streaks that ran down her scalp as a reminder of the curse. As Thetia began to roam Faerûn alone, she stumbled across a village that had been attacked by raiders. One of the many men had a child with a blade stretched against her throat, which infuriated the black armored Paladin. With quick haste and vigorous speed she annihilated them all. But she was too late to save the poor little girls parents, and so Thetia decided she wished to take care of the girl herself. Throughout the years she took care of, trained, and schooled the girl with as much as she knew. Thetia would tell stories of her adventures during her very long life span, and of course of her sister. As they travelled from Baldur's Gate, they were caught and captured by Mindflayers, albeit very difficultly, and thus the beginning of Baldur's Gate 3 starts. The thing about Sylvia and Thetia is they consider each other family, and grew to understand each other in a way only Thetia's true blood had come to understand her. The two protected each other, and throughout the events of the game they still do. NOW, I will get into the spoiler territory, so please be mindful.

The events of each romance play out exactly how you'd imagine it. Sylvia loves Karlach, and when she saw the opportunity to join her in Avernus she did not for a second hesitate to join her. Thetia knew who Sylvia was deep down, and regardless if she pleaded for her to stay she knew she wouldn't abandon Karlach to be alone. So the two end up in Avernus, and the story for how that all ends is something I will have to come up when I actually fully complete the game. As for Thetia, she gets her happy ending with Shadowheart. I do plan on having her be free from her curse and like Aylin getting her gleaming power back. But until I have a mod that gives wings or can change hair color mid game, this will simply be nothing more than a thought. I hope this made at least some sense, and as I said before this could very well be completely different once both playthroughs are complete. I hope you enjoyed my oc rambling!

I think Star and Wander would be just as frustrated w/ each other as Wander was with Dom in s2, if not more. Ostensibly, they share the same goals so theoretically it shouldn't be too hard for one to get thru to the other. Problem is, both Wander and Star are very stubborn irt their views and what they think is the right way to go about things. Granted, with s3 being about testing Wander, he likely would've started to question his beliefs abit and eventually become not as stubborn with his views, especially considering Dom blunty turning down his offer of redemption/friendship at the end of s2. Maybe Star would've had a similar arc? What do you think ?

thats exactly what ive been thinking of, like SFEF honestly have the universe's best interest in mind. they motivate their actions on the belief that they're right n they're genuinely doing good by freeing galaxies of villains, even if it's in frankly cruel ways n their definition of what is "good" n what is "evil" is extremely black n white n divided. they are the always the good guys n others r the bad guys who are inherently fundamentally evil n dangerous n deserve every terrible thing in the world to happen to them (that worldview is basically exactly what leads to the dehumanization of villains in their eyes n that is what makes it rlly easy for them to do what they do cuz they don't view villains as actual ppl with their own motivations n reasoning but as a disembodied force to be defeated).

star, who is the perfect guy to represent SFEF's beliefs n ideals (like he genuinely does not question them in the slightest he accepts their worldview as his own to the point his self-identity is tied directly to SFEF. the way he goes about fulfilling his duty is sort of tainted by his own personal wants n opinions sometimes, that's why sugar n ultra r there to level it out, but at the core he operates on the same logic as SFEF do, underneath all of their inspiring slogans n speeches of their righteous mission), is also the perfect guy to serve as a contrast to wander. star is literally like helplessness-less wander from the wanders episode. we only got to see him once in the show n the only thing he did was do a cool pose n explain his worldview, so star is basically what would happen if he got to act upon n actively spread his ideology — if wander had to face against someone w his own discarded belief n prove not just to himself but to literally the entire galaxy that it is not the answer

i feel like wander would be absolutely delighted to see SFEF show up at first. new people in the galaxy, and they're here to help, and they're really good at their job and others seem to really like them — this is basically like the hot shot episode situation. but then as their mission goes on hed begin to recognize their approach is flawed AS HELL — hed get that ideological ick from them. the problem is — he's the only one. post-dominator, after his pacifistic approach didn't work and dominator turned out to be an irredeemable sadist who could've only been stopped by force, the yonder galaxy would sorta start questioning wander n be more willing to side w SFEF n their more forceful methods. maybe that would even include sylvia, give her a bit of an arc — ofc shed still stay w wander n in the end shed support him, but judging by her character i feel like she wouldn't be opposed to a team of good guys who stop villains by force instead of trying to befriend them. even if she started warming up to peepers a lot n even cheered for hater in the end of the galaxy, she still doesn't seem to fully agree w wander on the sentiment that villains can be redeemed (quite paradoxical considering she was a redeemed "bad guy". wonder where that stems from). i think an arc of her coming to her own conclusion that wander really is right abt that instead of just going along w all his plans throughout all s3 would do her pretty well. so there goes the testing wander part. no matter how confident in ur own righteousness u are, if literally the entire galaxy rejects ur worldview u can't help but start to question it. that might even work to wander's benefit in a way, cuz his approach admittedly is still kinda flawed, so starting to question it might in the end make it more nuanced n balanced instead — curiously, what tries to break him ends up helping him in its own way. in the end it'd all probably come around to a big epic wander win n a great philosophical conclusion abt pacifism n what is good n evil n how too drenched in nuance everything actually is to apply such simple black n white logic to it. idk exactly how it'll happen but thats how i imagine it

now this part is curious, cuz smth needs to happen to SFEF after they lose right? now um the best outcome would be to show the entire bigass intergalactic SFEF organization the error of their ways so they can use their influence n power for something better — but idk how to actually come to it, cuz it's quite the feat.

what is a bit less of a feat is to redeem just star sugar n ultra in the end. ultra has her own arc going on of gaining conscience n beginning to question SFEF's ways by virtue of their beliefs being programmed into her, n the very act of her gaining free thought goes directly against her programming. so she doesn't have a brainwashed stupidass little head like how star does, which makes it just the tiniest bit easier. wander would come in super handy as a guy who showed an alternative to loyal to their authority soldiers/robots at least two times before. now i just dont know if i should let ultra have her happy ending or give her the beep boop treatment, inevitably shut down for good or sent back to be reset back to her factory settings the moment she stops being convenient to the cause or even worse tries to sabotage it. hard choice

sugar... sugar is a bit of a pickle. they dont go against SFEF but they don't exactly support it either. u see their species — bonbons — due to their physiological advantages, r rlly convenient for SFEF to hire. theyre almost impossible to hurt, have the ability to regenerate, can shift shape freely n can solidify or liquify their body's consistency at will. so basically SFEF practically has control over their homeplanet, in the cultural n societal sense. working for SFEF is like the go-to career there — kinda like the military if they payed better n also didn't endanger ur life so much. so sugar isn't there out of some righteous desire to save the universe, or for glory, or out of obligation — theyre basically there for the bag. its like a 9 to 5 to them. a circumstance. that attitude is outrageous, but that's the point — sugar is rlly detached from reality. they just go w the flow. they dont want to think too hard about the cause theyre contributing to. they dont want to think of the fact their actions have consequences. they dont want to take the lead of their own life. n since they leave it up for grabs SFEF is happy to accept the offer. in order for sugar to have an arc of abandoning SFEF n growing as a person they need something DRASTICCCC to happen, put them in a situation where they have no choice but to take action n actually pick a side. to commit. idk how that'd happen but it would be great trust 🙏🙏

now star. heheheheheh. until just recently i actually didnt even consider a character arc for him. hes a stubborn self-assured delusional fucking blockhead who would rather kill himself than admit he's wrong. i felt like just keeping him that way cuz i didnt see how wander would be able to make him reconsider that wout it feeling forced. but then it came to me, that if there's anything he believes to be as correct as himself — its SFEF. like ive said SFEF is basically tied into his self image now. every "I'm not wrong" automatically translates into "SFEF isn't wrong" n vice versa. n now — what if those sentiments weren't just separated but directly put against eachother, one or the other inevitably false. what if SFEF fired him. its their big final loss, star is forced to admit defeat, mark the end of their mission in the yonder galaxy n just come back to the main SFEF station empty handed. but they don't even let him do that. they just fire him. he fucked up his first mission in a relatively small galaxy that was literally almost wiped out by a huge threat beforehand — like it was perfect picking n he fucked that up. he proved himself worthless n hes not rlly important enough to deserve a second chance from them, they can fire him n literally nothing would change (a big shocker for star who genuinely thought he was all that. in reality they didn't even hire him in the first place cuz of his skills or something — it was because he looked like their mascot 😭 ofc going up the SFEF career ladder to the point they oh so generously allow him to lead a mission took him a lot of effort. but in the end he's just another easily replaceable cog in the machine. he refused to see that until now. he was like the biggest SFEF d-rider ever n he naively thought he meant something in return, that his efforts would pay off, that he'd be recognized for how absolutely jawdroppingly cool n awesome he is, that he has some worth to them — but he doesn't). n so something that was a big part of him, something he built his identity on, now leaves him on the side of the road. n it creates a huge dissonance — n he can't figure out whether he's wrong for fucking up n being a fucking loser or they're wrong for firing him, cuz both of those r thoughts he refused to even consider before. now probably for the first time in his life he's forced to come face to face w the fact he failed, in a way he can't brush off or takw himself back from after. to make matters worse he's basically homeless now lmao cuz he used to live on the SFEF spaceship station until they fired him n he cant come back to his parents house cuz that's the most shameful humiliating shit ever to him n hed rather kill himself than let his parents know the fucking SFEF fired his ass cuz its kinda a big deal 👍 n so there goes wonder — @catfacedcat's oc

I’m not sure an exact time Sylvia began work at the Marigold as of just yet, but I know it wasn’t too long before Mordecai started working there, the two sort of just coexisted and never really bothered to go out of their way to acquaint themselves aside from a necessity to familiarize with their fellow Marigold operators, that is, until Mister Sweet decided to pair them together on a joint operation that would become the starting point of their business partnership from then on.

(you’ve triggered me, I have so much built up backstory and plot swirling around for her, forgive me if these get lengthy!)

As for Sylvia’s Cold demeanor; Sylvia always holds herself to a strict professional standard, insuring that her actions, behavior, and motives all align with her objective, she holds a reputation for being cold and calm under pressure, her words precise and clear no matter the situation. All of this stems from Sylvia’s past career as a Nurse, when she had to steel her emotions to better focus upon her goals of insuring her patients health, she learned to remain calm and keep her cool in stressful situations, creating the stoic facade she continued to build off of years later in her clandestine affairs. She keeps her private life absent from her profession, preferring to maintain neat uncrossable borders that farther strengthens her reputation as a professionally cold operator.

Before Sylvia joined the Marigold, she had jumped from a career as a nurse, to a Smuggler, her reputation as a formidable smuggler in the underworld soon making working for the Marigold a reachable option for her. She navigated her role as a smuggler much like her duties as a Marigold operative, Using cunning, wit, and resourcefulness to insure her goals, and when needed, she is unafraid to use her feminine qualities to farther reach her goals, to her, whatever moves her that much closer to her objective, be it cold professionalism, unrelenting brutality with her trademark deadly polite attitude, or misleading a mark with well placed words and calculated lies, so long as the means to move forward does not endanger her partner or her fellow Marigold operators, everything goes.

🤒: Sadly yes, especially due to stars chronic pain. It leaves star bedridden and weakened for, at worst, weeks at a time. Consistently star feels nauseous, light-headed, and very weak.

😥: Xingshen does keep her cool in a majority of situations, but when pushed to the absolute limit her emotions exploded painfully out of her, leaving her very weak and tired afterwards without the energy to eat or take care of herself.

🍔: Xingshen's very good at cooking. In her younger years when being as physically fit as possible took first priority, she made a special diet for herself that she religiously followed. Now in the modern era she doesn't so strictly adhere to it, but she still prefers to eat healthy and hit the gym.

💜Chandrelle💜:

🤒: Considering she has a 16 in Constitution, I'd say Chandrelle's pretty hardy! She can get sick, but not easily.

😥: Chandrelle keeps her head so well it's hard to tell when things effect her, except for when there's a clear threat to one of the party. Then she turns very grim and spares no effort in ensuring their safety.

🍔: Living the adventurer's lifestyle means Chandrelle can cook, but mostly it's savory stews and various game meat. Baking's definitely not a strong suit and a bit too traditionally feminine for her tastes, though she does enjoy its results. However, she does enjoy experimental cooking with rare animals. For example: If the party takes down a hippo by some grace of the gods she's going to be very excited to test out dishes with its meat.

🩷Sylvia🩷:

🤒: A little bit, girl's got that AuDHD that keeps her awake most nights either doing overtime or playing those old 2010s flash games. Bad for the health.

😥: Now this one's funny- considering the type of calls she gets, Sylvia's very level-headed... but show her an insect of any time or a rat and she'll jump up on her chair screaming like a Victorian-era woman.

🍔: Girl cannot cook or bake to save her life but instant ramen do hit different.

In group settings, she’s like the second leading conversational person in the group if that makes sense. Not the one carrying the conversation but contributes the most. Doesn’t want the main focus to be on her, so no one will notice how she’s subtlety controlling the conversation in her favor

favorite: does your oc have a favorite article of clothing or accessory?

simon:

simon isn't really an accessory person, the only little extra thing he has is his piercing, but he has a Large Collection of knit sweaters. they're his comfort item. you really can't go wrong with a good, oversized knit sweater. so its not a specific article of clothing, but rather a Genre. when he's thrifting, the moment he sees a sweater in his size it's going in the cart. no questions asked.

archie:

archie has 2. one is his darth vader pajama pants that he's mended about 5 different times because they're THAT comfy. he loves them SO much. the second thing is a little a small little navy bracelet that simon got him one time when he visited some family in el salvador. its a braided pattern with pull-strings to tighten it and archie LOVES it. he is ALWAYS wearing it. even when he's out as vigil, he just tucks it into the sleeve of his jumpsuit so he can't be recognized and stuff. it was one of the first gifts archie gave to him. it is So Special

gene:

for gene, it has to be the necklace the wears with his mother's ring. its become something of a fidget too, when he's nervous. he wears it near his heart and whenever he's stressed, his hands instinctively go to find it, just to calm himself down. it's a little like having sylvia there for him again. its very comforting.

cassidy:

i touched on it in this post BUT for cassidy, it's his pinch-front hat and the rings we wears. the hat was a gift from montana and unfortunately it means a great deal to cassidy (kys montana) but the rings hold a sense of accomplishment to cassidy. cassidy often wonders if what he's doing is right-- going around and robbing and killing isn't exactly the most respectable profession, but when he looks at his rings and thinks about the people he's taken down, he feels better about it. he knows theres a purpose to what hes doing.

so his hair is decently long now-- just a bit past his chin-- but it used to be much longer. when he was a junior in highschool, it was a few inches past his shoulders and it was Very healthy and luscious. he would usually wear it up in a ponytail or in a braided half-up-half-down situation, but he also wore it down pretty often. the reason it was so long was because he had Huge sensory issues with his neck like. touching the air. he hated the feeling of just being so exposed so he only got trims every few months. he cut it when he went to med school though because it was going to be much easier to manage. he misses his longer hair sometimes.

archie:

archie used to dye a little strip of his hair various colors!!! his favorite was pink. its just a little section in the front of his hair, a bit off to the left. this was when he was in highschool too and he really enjoyed it while he had it! the reason he had to dye it back to normal was because when he started going out as vigil, he realized that the vigil outfit doesn't cover his hair or head in anyway and he thought it would be too recognizable. like simon, he misses his little dyed hair sometimes and considers doing it again. luckily he is Very Blonde, so temporary dyes show up really well!

gene:

i think i vaguely mentioned it in the fic, but when he was little, he used to be much blonder and his hair was much longer. i think the time he changed the most was puberty tbh. when he was little, he looked just like sylvia-- soft, straight, blonde hair and big blue eyes and chubby, rosy cheeks-- but the older he got, the more clint started peeking through. his hair darkened to a dirty blonde/mousy brown and became courser, his jaw and cheekbones became more angular, and he got VERY tall very fast. the only thing that didn't really change were his eyes. they are still very blue and very reminiscent of his mother. as for how he feels about it, usually he's pretty neutral, but one time he was getting angry at some kid in the street for causing a commotion, and he caught a glimpse of himself in the reflection of a window and saw his father's angry face staring back at him. he did Not like that.

cassidy:

honestly, he is practically unrecognizable from his younger self. before montana found him, he was this skinny, gaunt, sick looking thing. truly skin and bones, but he still somehow looked young and innocent. now, he's filled out. he's toned and muscular, but the main difference? the mosaic of scars littering his body. some accidental, some not. there are many. the most prominent one is the one on his mouth that i draw him with a lot. that one was straight from montana after an especially hard fight when he was just 15. him at age 7 vs him now 20 years later are pretty much two different people, and more than just in the sense that he grew up. he isn't sure if he should be happy or concerned about that.

I LOVE THIS QUESTION. i'm going to paste my previous answer to it right here and here, but here also a few other aus that i haven't fleshed out but have definitely Thought about

royal au with gene and cassidy. JUST THINK ABOUT IT. cassidy as the prince under a corrupt king (montana) and gene as one of his guards. cassidy is a little mischevious prince whos constantly trying to escape and get into trouble, and gene is tasked with retieving him when he goes on his little escapades. imagine the pining. imagine the intimacy. JUST IMAGINE IT.

role-reversal with archie and simon. their personalities are exactly the same, but simon is vigil, and archie is the tired med student. i truly believe this au would just be archie BEGGING simon to come to him when hes injured and simon being like "it's fine. i can still walk." while actively bleeding from a gaping knife wound

FANTASY AU WITH EITHER OF THEM. admittedly i am not well versed in fantasy aus, but i LOVEEEE the aesthetic and whump potential. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for the asks! I'll admit, these actually gave me a bit of a pause! Definitely not an aspect of my blorbos I think of a lot.

🌱 - Share one of this oc’s early memories.

So I'm not entirely sure how early is "early", so excuse me playing it by ear a little bit.

For Olivia it was most likely learning to knit. She found a book about knitting in the (primary) school library and spent soooo much time reading and re-reading back at the orphanage. Closely related to getting her first needles. She still has those, despite everything.

For Celeste it was the sound of her uncle's camera. That noise practically engraved itself in her brain and she always ended up pestering her uncle for his work stories at family gatherings. He's the main reason she got into journalism.

Sylvia's the trickiest one, since she is by far my newest and least developed of the three. I want to say it was coming home with scraped knees from tripping on her way back home, but it feels like a bit of a cop out answer. >.>

💛 - Are they ‘good with children’, or more awkward?

Olivia's very caring, but she hasn't had much opportunity to actually spend a lot of children. In fact, she'd probably say she wouldn't make a good mother herself... but given the research she might be pursuing with her wife soon... well, let's just say that the Dark Mother holds many gifts.

Celeste is on a more awkward side when it comes to children. Being the youngest sibling, she fortunately dodged having to look after kids. Would rather do anything else than babysit.

Sylvia's likewise on a more awkward side, I'd say. Not for any particular lack of care, but between the aura of necromancy and being perpetually haunted, probably best she stays away from kids.

🍪 - What are their favorite scents?

For Olivia - freshly brewed coffee. Old habits die hard, and it's just one of those simple comfort things for her. Her wife still fights to get her to appreciate tea more.

For Celeste - it's less a single scent and more a mixture of them from her favorite food court. Redding Terminal Market is a bit of a special place for her.

For Sylvia - it's actually a fairly development. It's liliach incense her sire used when she was teaching her the basics of necromancy. It's a bit of a bittersweet association though, since her sire is currently missing and very likely in danger.

NGL I thought it was gonna be Ravi, but also you were there for my entire liveblogging of 911 s1-6 so you probably know most of those answers already XD

My first impression: There he is! Finally! :D -Wait why is Buck so pissed?

My impression now: There he is! :D More seriously, he brought something much-needed to the show, and I'm happy he's there. Also Eddie always makes me think of you, so he's even dearer to my heart that way.

Favorite thing about that character: His love for his son. I'm a sucker for a good parent character. He knows he's not a perfect parent, but he does everything in his power for Christopher to have everything he wants and needs (within reason). And no matter what, he makes sure that Christopher knows that he's loved and wanted. In a very close second, I love how silly he can be! <3

Least favorite thing: STOP HOLDING EVERYTHING SO CLOSE TO YOUR CHEST JFC!!!!

Favorite line/scene: I can't remember the exact line, but the s7 scene with Christopher leaving, and Eddie tells him that even though Eddie hates this, he will let Christopher go if that's what Christopher wants. And that Eddie will always, ALWAYS love him and welcome him home with open arms ;.;

Favorite interaction that character has with another: Christopher's introduction scene with "Dad, do you think dogs know that they're dogs?" That scene is a beautiful intro on how Eddie is as a father: patient, eager to understand what's going on in Chris's mind/world, and adoring Christopher more than anything or anyone else in the world. He is so GRATEFUL to be a dad!!! It brightens his entire being so much more than we'd seen in the episode before. It softens him. If I hadn't seen gifs from subsequent seasons and already come to love Eddie, THIS would have been the moment that I fell in love with his character.

A character that I wish that character would interact with more: I miss Eddie and Linda ;.; They were so fun together! (I love Linda in general)

Another character from another fandom that reminds me of that character: My OC Ushi Dr. Hugh Culber from Star Trek: Discovery. They're both medical professionals who have been in combat scenarios before. Both come from Spanish-speaking families (Mexican and Puerto Rican). Both are the prettiest men on their respective shows, hands down (compliment). Both are excellent fathers/father figures. Both keep their personal struggles/emotions veeeeery close to their chest. Both of them will happily listen in on the latest scuttlebutt. And both could have been my favorite characters if Sunshine Incarnate hadn't also been in the show. (Sylvia Tilly I adore u!!! ;.;)

A headcanon about that character: If Eddie hadn't gotten together with Shannon/had Christopher, I feel like he'd have been a party boy in college. That "I'm finally free of my parents' expectations so I'm going to let loose!!!!" Make up for those teenage experiences that he never got to have.

A song that reminds of that character: If I Hated You -FLETCHER My bedtime is the darkest That's when I'm brokenhearted The nighttime is the hardest It'd be easy if I hated you I know that this is technically Eddie/Shanon, but considering that it's the relationship that he defines everything else against, I say that it still works

An unpopular opinion about that character: I can't think of anything? Except that I'm neutral on the mustache. I initially hated it, but now I'm indifferent. He's pretty both with and without it <3
