Game main theme is how indigenous ways aren't dying but are being actively prosecuted and killed by the advancing behemoth of industrialization. It does feel like it occasionally dabbles in white saviourism and a tad of orientalism (written by a Belgian after all) but I will leave that discussion to actual indigenous voices. I overall enjoyed it, especially that the Inon Zur soundtrack was PHENOMENAL.

What I did not enjoy is the quality of the Switch port. Widely inconsistent framerate, extremely muddy textures and comically long loading times really made it difficult to appreciate the game. I think it's the worst Switch port I've experienced thus far. If you ever plan on playing the game get it on Playstation, Steam or GoG.

Not showing the usual screenshots because Switch port isn't representative of the amount of effort the art department put into the project.

So, right?

Fuck. Got to the music square puzzles. Got through everything except the one with the two instrument pipes. I took screenshots of the past, compared them to the present. Literally everything matches.

But it faults on the right side. Left sounds correct, right is a squeaky mess (odd how the past kept playing right first, left second, but the present is opposite).

The small pin at the bottom of the button is moved, the top lever...

And of course I can't just restart from waking up that morning. Maybe do these in a different order. I'll have to start an entirely new game.

And then, like, find where the saves are, back up the damn save for that profile, prior to waking that morning (or right after, maybe both), to see if I can get past this stupid puzzle that should be correct and somehow isn't.

I am irritated.

Stamattina il corriere al citofono si è alterato perché secondo lui non gli avevo aperto subito il portone. Ammettendo che sia successo, e non mi sembra vero perché io il pulsante l'ho premuto due volte, non era un motivo valido per arrabbiarsi. Oltretutto in teoria io avrei dovuto poter controllare il pacco prima che lui se ne andasse. Vabbè.

Stavolta è andata bene con i nomi dei personaggi. ☺️ È corto come il primo, infatti l'ho già letto, in poco meno di un'ora.

Now that I’ve played the “An Automaton with a Plan” DLC I suppose that’s the end of my Syberia III adventure for now! Unfortunately, the DLC was rather short. I would have enjoyed spending more time with our clever automaton companion.

1. First game you played obsessively?

As a kid I really wanted to become a veterinarian, so.

I think it's called Paws & Claws Pet Vet 2 in English (and that's a literal translation), but the English box art and screenshots don't look like the game I played. Also that is my copy, I still have it, and there's glitter on the title (you can see it on the 2).

34. Do either of your parents play video games?

Nope.

42. Maybe it wasn’t your first game, but what was the game that started you on your path to nerdiness?

I believe Syberia was the first serious point'n'click adventure game I played, and it made me fall in love with the genre.
