As promised, now that EFNW is over I’ve made the physical edition of TTE available for purchase online. It’s set to be at-cost (so I make no profit on it), but if you wanted to throw something extra my way to compensate me for the pain and suffering typesetting this thing caused me, my ko-fi page is always open ^^

I’ve also FINALLY updated the fimfic version, as it’s been painfully outdated for half a year now and impossible for me to look at without wanting to explode. But it’s better now. Promise. Give it a re-read if you don’t believe me on that :P

now. john is trans in my head bc i have trans goggles. but hear me out. the donaldson fallout is centered around a lack of connection that i think is ultimately born out of what me and bug called a mutual betrayal aka. them both feeling strange and alien, but each handling it in a way the other finds impossible to understand. (pedro trying to be perfect and uphold all norms and standards, john ignoring norms and fucking up "normalcy" for everyone else). pedro's whole schtick is trying to be the perfect all round great guy, and this comes with strict ideas of heteronormativity and masculinity, which is why he sides with claudio even when he believes that to be wrong possibly even from the beginning. pedro's need for overcorrection might come from several places, but part of it is absolutely rooted in his secret queerness.

john has reached a breaking point long before we meet him, and i think a way to read that is that being in the closet is a non-option for him, which is why he hates pedro. (to me) john was out bascially as a child, a kind of freak that's old news, and so accepted, but still slightly weird. we know that john is good at observing, his villainy is basically to manipulate a system he doesn't believe in (he baits claudio bc he knows claudio is insecure and slightly sexist, and also is the prime example of everything john loathes rn). his disregard for arbitrary rules of gender and normalcy becomes directly connected to his transness.

thinking about the mlm and transmasc rep situation again and i think the thing that gets me about it is how exceedingly easy and completely inconsequential it would be for a single writer to just sprinkle in a bit of rep. like a bulk of the queer rep we already have is via random npc dialogue out in city maps or festivals or something and is not even voice acted. you literally have to change NOTHING and dont even need to pay for extra voice lines to just change a single pronoun or word in some npc's pop-up text from "girlfriend" to "boyfriend". this is not a replacement for centered, featured representation with actually memorable chararacters played by queer actors or so on, but it'd be SOMETHING and it's amazing in a sad way that we have like actually nothing right now

: ̗̀nutmeg ➛ outside of my room, it's all just kind of. everywhere LOL me and my roommate really love thrifting and going to antique shops, so we have a whole bunch of cute and pretty but random trinkets!! we are trying to decorate with a lot of nice deep greens and plants though!!! my room is also everywhere but i like to just think that it's Me that makes it cohesive haha. basically it's just full of stuff i love: tons of trinkets, stuffies, anime things (obviously. all over the place. posters and glass paintings all over my walls too), and lots of purples n dark blues w night sky themes!
