nightlife event would be so much more enjoyable if INSTEAD of the gd chips being tied to the character, they WERE LEGACY WIDE so then I can play the slots on characters that would instead of being like "oh god why is my oc who would start a fight and get kicked out in five minutes still playing slots"

I got the new Mek-Sha stronghold - it's kinda nice, ngl. Nikali still prefers her estate on Alderaan, being as how it's the only one cold enough to make her feel homeish right now - but I can definitely see that this stronghold is going to run a close second for her.
Lots of open space, huge windows, and I've always liked Mek-Sha's skyline. The industrial feel suits her (though not necessarily the player, who prefers cleaner lines and a more natural aesthetic) and I think she can do some nice decorating.
I might actually play around with this one - unlike the majority of my stongholds, which just sit there, gathering dust.

Shae vizla growth from the shadow of Revan to old wounds
Edit: This was supposed to come out before 7.5 xD and wow I have thoughts, but I'll do that another day.
With 7.5 out, I wanted to talk about Shae and her growth as a character We first officially see Shae in two cinematics for Swtor and a bit in some books, but we don’t officially meet Shae till the shadow of Revan on Rishi.
Tumblr media
Her reaction to you depends on what your playing if your the grand champion IE a mandalorian she’s not as rude but still brash and forward about recognizing you as manda’lors favorite champion. (well technically your vindicateds kid but that’s for another discussion) Her overall tone during your first interaction with her is proud overconfident brash but she does respect your ability to fight if your humble about it.
she doesn’t show up again till the finale battle on yavin 4 her talk of being in battles for glory and credits differ to other mandalorians
Tumblr media
Next time we see shae is in kote manda’lors revenge after 6 years. Her reaction is somewhat similar even if your not a Mando but if you are you do get options only for Mando players which I think is neat.
Her attitude isn’t as Prideful or rude but she’s still a headstrong women she’s older now and is a reluctant leader as we learn she took the title of manda’lor by accident which is fitting.
Through the chapter depending on what you choose to say shae speaks how the commander and her are loners being put in charge of armies which is true shae is a loner even though she’s a mandalorian.
Tumblr media
It’s a long long while before we get anything on shae again we get a small piece of dialogue from her on mek sha and mentions from other characters. But things get getting interesting for shae when we meet her again.Talking to her advisor jekiah ordo her words and actions aren’t as hostile or rude more solemn and a good leader even though she never wanted it but seeing shae confining in the player is nice especially if your a Mando like her.
The chats you get before the spirit of vengeance is fun and interesting lore wise and for character growth for shae and her attitude towards it she prefers the talk of warriors to the ever annoying discussion of politics which is something mandos dislike a lot in Mandalorian culture.
Tumblr media
after the incident aboard the spirit of vengeance shae goes to hunt heta and puts jekiah in charge. Shes determined and ready to hunt her but we see shae become more distant from her culture and people heading back into old habits when she was a bounty hunter.
We do get a short story and a couple of transmissions of her searching for heta and the hidden chain before showdown of ruhhunk happens but it is little while before it happens.
Tumblr media
Showdown on ruhnunk is extremely exciting for shae content and what the player can choose for the outcome of the whole ordeal shae acts in different ways in this chapter and it can go either way. Shae is sane but we can see her frustration of wanting heta gone and the urge to kill without reason or care and acting irrational when it comes to the right thing to do. Her reasons are understandably but its a bit much even for a mando player. But it all comes to a bang when heta and shae fight one another and shae getting injured but is still alive and kicking and the aftermath is the most interesting depending on what you choose to do.
Tumblr media
The next time we see shae is in old wounds we do have one or two letters before that but when we see shae. She's trying to talk to malgus and is a bit hostile to your companions and even you if you did bad stuff on runhhunk the whole situation is a bit tense for everyone involved.
However in chains in the dark shae goes missing which leads to a bit of chaos for the few that know IE jekiah rass the commander Lana and Theron know shes missing.
and with 7.5 my god that has shaken things up but i will talk about that another day.
but from everything we have seen of shae she has grown in many aspects of her life and fallen back at times more recently shae is able to grow but old habits can resurface and take hold over her a lot i just hope she is able to continue to grow and fix the mess from 7.5 as her character is really interesting and it would be a true shame if they butcher her character development and story.

SWTOR.
So. About that news about SWTOR, that it is slated to be transferred to another company - yeah. Let's chat about that. Or I will.  TL:DR version: The licensing agreement for SWTOR was set to expire this year. My own hypothesis is that the Mouse did not renew it and pulled the license from Bioware because they did fuckall with it. Also Bioware has been fumbling a lot of their other games. So this isn't quite a sunny transfer.
Tumblr media
My final screenshot of Viri and Lana at home in Naboo (headcanon for the Alderaan stronghold), February 2022, just before uninstalling SWTOR. One thing I have not seen mentioned is the fact that SWTOR's licensing agreement with the Mouse was scheduled to end this year anyway. 2023. It's been said for some time. Is it really a surprise the Mouse would not want things to go on as they are?
Given the near complete lack of attention and care that has been paid to SWTOR for a good five or six years now, I can fully understand why the Mouse would not renew the licensing agreement. Onslaught and Ossus looked as though a fair amount of development money had been poured into them - Ossus, Onderon and Mek-Sha had the same sort of acheivements and datacron hunts you found on the OG planets - but they were bright spots in a very bleak period.
The amount of content released in a single patch of some other MMOs is more than the collective total of what was released for SWTOR in years.
The story was haphazard. The companion reunions had no continuity, with some characters not even recognizing NPCs they'd actually worked with before (Nadia Grell and Jaesa Willsaam not recognizing Lana, for instance) or behaving completely out of character (Risha being completely indifferent about the fate of her planet, for instance). The writers killed off almost every character that moved and pulled a "somehow, the Emperor survived" stunt (not with the Emperor). The head writer did not even know a timeline for the story and had to talk it out on the message board.
The devs tried hard to shove everyone into PvP (both ground and space) and Ops, while alienating other types of players, and made story content ridiculous. Known game-breaking bugs remained in the game for years.
There's been a lot of turnover in the dev team and numerous reports about management completely ignoring feedback from devs. A few devs were witnessed mocking players on dudebro discords, and the changes they made seemed to benefit a select group of players. A few message board posters were plants trying to deliberately provoke players into inflammatory exchanges or white knighting any and message critical of the devs. Or that criticism was removed outright.
Players who had invested a substantial amount of time and money into SWTOR and put a lot of effort into developing player guides and fan sites said "fuck this" and walked. The Steam charts show playership of about 3000K players per day. People stopped going to the test server because it became painfully obvious that the devs were completely ignoring most feedback. Problems and bugs test players pointed out made their way into the released patches anyway.
Meanwhile the staff of SWTOR was getting poached for Anthem and Dragon Age. Anthem failed. Battlefront II went into maintenance after only two years. The next installments of Dragon Age and Mass Effect were proving to be complete clusterfucks.
Is there really any reason the Mouse would have wanted to keep the license with Bioware?
I do think this is a way to get SWTOR into a safe place - away from Bioware - but given the profile of the new company, I doubt it means we're going to see a Renaissance. I think it means the game is going to have a safe place to continue in maintenance mode. That's how it is with two other MMOs they have. The number of devs, as someone pointed out, is going to be 50% of what SWTOR has now.
I do think they will keep it in maintenance mode as long as they can; as long as enough people keep subscribing to make that profitable. But I do think overall, this is it for SWTOR.
I have not played SWTOR in a year and a half. I uninstalled it on the day 7.0 came out. My characters are all parked in their favorite strongholds with their favorite companions. I headcanon the game itself cut from Ossus directly to Echoes, with the scene at the end of Echoes, with Lana and the PC literally flying off into the stars being the end of the story. I feel it's better that way. Given all that was happening with SWTOR I feel like this was inevitable, too.  All the same, given the positives that SWTOR had - some of the gameplay and class stories, the rich lore, the planets, some of the characters - it leaves me bitterly angry and disappointed by the outcome. It's such a waste. An absolute waste of talent and time and people who were so totally invested in the success of this game. At the end, that's all there is.
Farewell, SWTOR.

Dear SWTOR devs,
Starting from Onderon in Onslaught, every landscape looks absolutely fantastic. Onderon, Mek-Sha, mindscape in Echoes of Oblivion, Dantooine enclave, new Manaan area, and now Ruhnuk - all are stunning. But it would be nice if I didn't need a NASA computer to run the game on high settings to appreciate the scenery at more than 10 fps.
Sincerely,
a player who doesn't have a NASA computer.

MILLIE d'FLEUR • Sith Inquisitor/Sorcerer. Born on Mek-Sha and forced into servitude by the Brothers, young Millie d'Fleur found themself on the forgotten fringes of society. No Jedi stepped foot on Mek-Sha, so Millie became disillusioned with tales of their heroic feats. As they grew older, their Force sensitivity became apparent, and the Brothers' Imperial connections took notice. Millie was given a choice by a passing Sith Lord: rot in servitude to the Brothers, or fight for a chance at freedom on Korriban. They accepted, and became a sorcerer of significant power in their own right.
ARVAD ROSECOT • Jedi Consular/Sentinel. Arvad was born on Alderaan and was brought into the Jedi Order at a young age. He was present for the sacking of Coruscant, narrowly avoiding death by the sacrifice of his old master. After finishing his trials on Tython, the calm, collected Arvad was sent out into the galaxy to try and end the Sith, earning the title of Jedi Master shortly after he became a Knight in the first place.
---
Armillie SWTOR versions... I caved and made 'em, and I Wuv Them 👉👈 I finished Arvad's story on Tython, so now I'm gonna get my character off of Korriban. My plan is to keep the two characters on roughly the same pace. I'm working on how they're meeting rn!

16. Who are their Forbidden Companions — i.e., characters who aren't companions in-game — if they have any?
22. What abilities do they use that aren't in their in-game spec? 24. If they could have a stronghold on any world, where would it be, how large would it be, & what would the architecture be like?
Tumblr media
Both of them don't follow the OG stories soo the companions dont match for them, but im gonna tell what companions i would see for them. 16.Who are their Forbidden Companions — i.e., characters who aren't companions in-game — if they have any? I Wanna see Ain'res and Hunter works together, even if Hunter would end as temporary companion. The endless sexual tension with bickering. I need this. 22. What abilities do they use that aren't in their in-game spec? Full meele knifes/daggers combo, thans to exo skeleton outfit as Ghost have more agility so better close gap skills and dodging 24. If they could have a stronghold on any world, where would it be, how large would it be, & what would the architecture be like? Before the update it was Mek-sha. Something much smaller than shown in-game but perfect hideout when you escape Empire.
Tumblr media
16.Who are their Forbidden Companions — i.e., characters who aren't companions in-game — if they have any? I would like a reunion with Nalen Raloch after Tython and we know later he become Jedi Knight. It would be nice to get his help later. 22. What abilities do they use that aren't in their in-game spec?Force blade - He is not that much strong in the force, but he have amazing control skills and when you see Jedi use the force as something to push or a blunt hits Sallaros learn how to cut. First he used this to teach himself how to control Force, creating a perfect orb from various materials (Rock, metal, ice) with great detailed cuts. Sall would cut the metal door with Force than with lightsaber and lift the smaller pieces. 24. If they could have a stronghold on any world, where would it be, how large would it be, & what would the architecture be like? Rakata prime, so many ruins and thing to learn so perfect for his archaeology nature, but something small too.

10 Interesting Facts About Your Swtor Character
Taken from @kemendin so have Ligastar facts
Tumblr media
As a young child, he and his family were taken by slavers (the Brothers group on Mek-Sha) and sold pre-treaty of Coruscant. They were bought by a Sith lord who enjoyed experimenting on his slaves. As a result he thought he lost his twin brother while in reality he was put into a come then sent off to another Sith Lord and his mother died to a plague designed to kill non force sensitives. While he did not know what was done to him due to how old he was.
Despite finishing his training under master Orgus, the woman he considers his first master died in the sacking. She was a Miraluka who could "see" his suffering. She had been one of the first to welcome the transport of freed slaves that had escaped after his father had sacrificed himself so they could be free. It was this suffering Ligastar believed she was seeing. When she was killed he truly believed any chance of healing his "suffering" was lost.
He has a kid. The only reason why he has one is because the order has let him and the Barsen'thor (my character Clover-rae), his partner, participate in a program to try to allow multi partner and species couples to have children. Their third partner, Theron Shan agreed to this as well resulting in their son Levi in Act 2 who was cared for main by Theron and Clover when she could.
Unlike in game at the in of act 2, Ligastar doesn't truly fall under the emperor's control. It's discovered that the experiments done on him gives him strong resistance to mind control mixed with a very strong will. By this point he has reunited with his father, twin and older brother. He knows they are sith (despite working as double agents for the jedi) and that is from a pure sith family. He gives in to the dark side of his own free will and submits to the emperor's training. It takes his twin who is trapped on the station as well to snap him out of his dark side stupor long enough to escape.
His dark exposure changes his permanently. Having Scourge around really doesn't help. He drops his nice guy attitude and starts letting loose a bit more. It gets to the point gets the nickname "Revan's Heir", a nickname that would come to haunt the family in later generations.
During the time i call the Eternal Crisis while he is in carbonite, his son Levi appears through his dream visions to him as if trying to reach him. Valkorian of course tries to block him out until he succeeds. It's though Levi he learns that five years have passed and that he is helping Lana find his father when most have given up on him. The two have a very strong bond, so much so Levi knows Valkorian is in his father.
When the time comes to rebuild the jedi he is extremely reluctant. He has become used to not living by their rules and having a more gray lifestyle. When his now heavily pregnant wife decides it would best if the order is restored for the sake of their children, he caves and joins her. He does not appreciate being suddenly names the new grand master a few years later however (this is subject to change if the game ever tells us who that will be).
He is a force Walker. After his brother learnt the technique, he taught it to whomever could learn it in the family. He has a single ghost bound to him and this happens, much, much later in his life but it is not a Sith ghost.
He adores his nephew, Zeke and niece, Lilian. Even when the alliance rejoins the republic he ensure they have the abilities to come and go from Odessen as he knows Levi would be heart broken if he couldn't see them.
He hates killing Vaylin with a passion. It really, really eats him up after that he couldn't save her. To him its worse given he knows his father and Senya have feelings for one another but have not acted on them. When in Statele's mind he takes sometime to properly correct his mistake but he knows nothing will ever take the guilt away from the failure he deems her death to be.
